Stopped in for the self wash pet station. It was a clean area. Plenty of towels. The only thing I had issue with was getting the blow dryer to work. The staff wasn't too attentive to the area for me to ask so I just dried my pup best I could and took him home to dry. Most likely will just return here for a quick self wash when needed. read more

I stopped by here for my 5year old son because we were looking to purchase a small pet . We were greeted right away by Christine (worker in training). First thing I noticed , why was this young lady in the front assisting customers with no one else in sight? We were there for a good 10minutes before I saw someone else come up to the front . This is a pretty large pet store for a worker in training to be left to assist multiple customers at once, although Christine handled it well and with a smile . What I didn't enjoy about this location was finally meeting the assistant manager Kelly and not receiving any customer service at all. She didn't greet us with a smile , she didn't address me , she just slowly walked around with her pen and paper watching us like we were a foreign species, maybe my kind didn't belong in this store ? That how I felt . I finally decided to walk up to Kelly and ask her if that was all the pets they currently had, and with no hesitation at all she said "yes" , nothing more. Just Yes . No, unfortunately yes , but we will be getting more . No , is there something else I can help you with , just yes. I expect this from a regular sales associate but not from management. Now , before you say hey maybe she was busy , no she wasn't because she happily assisted her other customers that didn't look like me. The only reason I am giving this location more than one star is because of the sales associate in training . Christine greeted each customer that came in the door and asked each customer if they needed any assistance. Maybe Kelly should be the one in training. read more

Clean, well stocked and with clearly marked prices, I stopped into Pet Supermarket for dog treats. They also have stuff for fish and cats and birds. An impressive selection that isn't too terribly marked up. I'd rather shop here than SmartPet or CoPet. read more

I try to always come here for my dog food as my two crazy mutts eat taste of the wild and it aint cheap I don't care who you are its pricey but the great thing about this place is that if you sign up for their rewards program you get your 10th bag free! or is it 11th bag? One of the two! That's a free $50 bag of dog food ladies and gentlemen! Ill take it as anything helps when your dogs eat 30 lbs of food in about 2 weeks or less. I also like this place because the staff is always so friendly, the first time we came with pups in tow they all took the time to come up and meet my boys and talk to us about if we have been there before showed us around and got us signed up so we could get our free bag. Also helped me fit my big guy into a new harness and showed us some of the deals on dog beds. Its super clean and has a good variety of supplies for all the normal pets dogs cats rabbits birds and reptiles. They have training classes you can sign up for as well as a discount vet that comes through to supply cheaper (but still great quality) vet needs like vaccines and microchips. I wish they had a wash station but that's ok. Side note: Thursday night is off leash training night for any pet parents that have dog aggressive fur babies like I do I was happy to find this out before I brought my super sweet but misunderstood guys with me as they are rescue kids and sometimes they have "issues" with other dogs. read more

This is our go-to pet store! It's over in Dilworth in a little strip next to some other stores and a grocery store. Plenty of parking! Prices in Pet Supermarket are pretty comparable to other pet stores around the area and also places like PetCo and PetSmart. We got a puppy a couple of weeks ago and before we picked up our little guy, we went on a shopping spree here and got everything we needed. Great selection of food, toys, cleaning/hygiene products, and the employees there are very knowledgeable and helpful when you need something! Kelly and Miranda are AMAZING!!!! Kelly always greets us, and my pup and provides vast amount of aquatic/dog knowledge, that I've never gotten from anyone else. I came in by chance because Pet Supplies Plus was out of my dog food in Dec and saw her. I was elated - she was my favorite manager there!!! Miranda has a bright and bubbly personality, and is always ready to help. I can tell she absolutely loves her job, and genuinely enjoys helping people. 100% stellar customer service. However, I am HIGHLY disappointed that this company would employ a manager (Jenn) with a nasty attitude. She looks like she hates being at work, and she gets rude with her employees on the floor. Quite simply, I am considering never coming back at all, it's the employees that make a place worth coming too. I've never in my entire life heard someone have such a nasty tone with someone within earshot of customers. We live less than a mile from the Cotswold Petsmart, but we venture ~5 miles away to the Dilworth Pet Supermarket to do our dog food shopping because their Blue Buffalo prices are slightly lower & the slightly lower prices + the monthly $5 off coupons that come with our junk mail make it totally worth the trip! (Make sure you sift through the Bojangles, lawn care, and bath fitter ads... the Pet Supermarket coupons are totally worth making an effort to flip through the weekly mailers) The staff at Pet Supermarket is always friendly and have milk bone treats on stand-by for our sweet dog every time she walks through the door! I sincerely hope the Fresh Market that's going on next door doesn't make parking in the shopping center impossible because Pet Supermarket is a great place to pick up affordable pet necessities! read more

This is a decent pet store. It is not huge but they have all of the staples that you would need for your common types of pets (i.e. cats, dogs, rabbits). The staff is friendly enough. The selection is limited and the prices are way higher than anywhere else even Harris Teeter. I do not see the value to justify such high prices. I can't get myself to spend 3-4x as much on the same product I could get from Wal-Mart. I really like this pet store. They have food and treats that are not sold at Petco or other chains. Weruva food for example, they have a lot of it. It's the only canned food our cat will eat, so this saves us from a lot of mail orders. And their prices are decent. Very nice staff. Glad to find this place. read more

We used to love this pet store and considered it the best in the city. There are a great variety of options in all departments with great prices. The staff were always extremely friendly until lately. The past few times we have come into this store, the customer service has been terrible. We have had a few experiences with an employee whose name tag says Ita. YIKES, she is one of the rudest, most unpleasant human beings around. Now if we see her, we just leave the store. Even only experiencing her in the checkout line is enough to put a damper on the experience and cause us to leave feeling as though we should've taken our money elsewhere. I gave two stars because the store used to be awesome and still would be if Ita was not present or if she received a severe attitude adjustment. My husband and I discovered Pet Supermarket on East Blvd. while attending an SPCA adoption event. Having lost two beloved dogs this past year (one 19-plus, the other 16 1/2) it was time to bring another furry child into our lives via rescue. We even purchased a crate & some food there in preparation for a small dog who was being fostered (for longer than we realized). We had the crate all put together (discarded packaging and credit receipt) only to find the dog did not want to be away from his foster mom and made that "dangerously clear". We summed it up to an $89 loss as we did end up adopting a larger dog from a local county shelter. I took the advice of a renown trainer (Carol Lynn Fox, Blue Ribbon K-9 Academy) to see if they'd accept it for store credit to buy a larger crate for our new "boy". I spoke with Carly (sp?) who grasped the situation immediately and said any proof we bought it from them (as in our credit card statement) would get us a store credit. My husband went there today, Carly was there to take the crate and even put together the new one for us in a FLASH. That's very commendable customer service wouldn't ya' say? Also, everyone we met there were truly pet lovers, not just "sales people". read more
