This place has really gone downhill. The pets are not kept well. I got a fish nine days ago with fin rot that looked pitiful to try to save it, and it died this morning. I took it to the store with my receipt and the staff were rude and unhelpful and refused to take the fish back or allow me to switch for another one or get store credit. I would never purchase another animal, fish, or anything from here. Staff aren't knowledgeable and can rarely give any information on their inventory. Also, I got crickets the same day that I got the fish and about 40% of the crickets were dead by the time I got home. I live ten minutes away. Only thing I could think is that they were selling dead products or perhaps the cashier crushed the bag. I would just stay away from this place if I were you. read more

I absolutely love this place!! I have two dogs and a leopard gecko. I get all my food and supplies from here. Always a great deal on something. The staff is super nice and very helpful. The best part is.. is if there is sometimes need. They don't have it.. they will make sure they have it by my next visit. Or direct me in the right direction to get it quicker. We were able to get our dog into their grooming center today. They were professional and courteous. Jason told us it would be at least two hours before we could pick him up. I called a couple hours later and they said he was still a bit damp but they didn't want to use the blower as they didn't want to traumatize him with the noise. We picked him up an hour later to give him additional time to dry and he looked, feels, and smells so much better. Truly appreciate Jason taking such great care of our boy. Thank you!! read more

I just took my 2 year old nephews Guinea Pig name D who was in the middle of dying that we bought together 12 days ago into the store to try to exchange or return and they wouldn't help me at all. I can't find my receipt but was trying to fix the problem before my nephew got back home. All she did was grab a towel from the back and took 5 mins to pick up D because she didn't want to touch it. Then told me I must have done something to her because the rest of them fine. I spent at least an hour and a half in that store and spent around $200 to get no help when something happened. She was rude, unhelpful, and I will be going back to talk to a manager. read more

me and my bestfriend have been going in there for almost 2 years every other day to hold cats and show them love after being in a cage all day. i have personally purchased 3 cats from this place and normally everyone is very kind and open with me and my friend since we are well known in there. today me and her went in to hold our kitties like normal and one of the employees, with attitude, told us we had to have an adult with us to hold the cats. but they allow 6 and 7 year olds to come in there and volunteer to clean the litter boxes. i believe that she was to lazy to get up and let us see the cats so she just shooed us away. those cats sit in there everyday, every hour and one of the workers was to lazy to let them get any attention from the outside world. normally see good workers who are very kind. not happy with this worker, did not get her name but watch out. read more

If i could give zero stars i would. A dog grooming should never take 6 hours. The fact that i dropped my dogs off at 10:50 and was told that i'd be able to get them after 2-4 hrs only to not be able to get them until 5:30 is horrible. It's an ok haircut but six hours for a basic grooming and nail file on a short haired toy poodle is not ok. read more

I've had great service at the location! Each time I've went in for odds and ends, the staff at the registers were polite and friendly. I recently brought in both of my dogs to be groomed by Lisa and she did great! I was moving that day and she even allowed them to stay "a little longer" while we moved so they weren't stressed out. We go to Petsense in Lake Wylie for dog grooming and for our pet food needs. We have 2 mini schnauzer dogs and a basset hound. Our schnauzer dogs always come out looking amazing! They don't do well at home with brushing, so they are typically looking a little rough when we drop off. The 2 groomers, Lisa and Jason, always make the dogs feel at ease and are super pet friendly. We take the basset there for a good wash and nail trimming. He is well-taken care of there. Staff is always friendly and welcoming. We are repeat customers and highly recommend this place for your pet needs. read more

Absolutely the worst manager call with Shay. After taking my beautiful Australian Labradoodle who had 4-5 inches of hair and sending her home with a cut as low as a German Shepard, I was belittled and demeaned by phone when I called in the concern. When I told Shay that I didn't come in the store because I was battling an infection, she made bias assumptions and started telling me that my husband should not have come in the store either. I had to tell her 3 times that she was not a doctor and should not be giving me medical advice considering she has no idea what was going on with me and wasn't a doctor. She went on to tell me that my husband should have never signed the paper that said he was satisfied. I reminded her that it had only been 10 minutes and it's wasn't as if they could glue hair back on my puppy to fix it. She then went on to tell me how SHE would have handled it if it had been HER puppy. She said SHE would have asked for a test cut if I didn't know what the blade was. I reminded her that they are the groomers. There is also no blade guide on their wall. If you have a conversation and say cut half and the groomer says okay that will be blade 1,2,3 or 4, then you trust the groomer. They are the professionals. I asked her to simply ask the groomer what she believed the instructions were. The groomer said she thought he said half of what she got at her last cut over 3 months ago. That's not what was stated but I accepted there MAY have been slight miscommunication. Shay then asked what do you want me to do. I told her to do what she would have done when if my husband had resolved this 10 min ago. Her solution was to offer me a free spa service AFTER I purchased ANOTHER grooming. That was insane. I asked her that if we both agreed there could have been a miscommunication, then a 50% discount would be reasonable. She said no and told me I could call corporate. She also hung up the phone without saying a word. I did contact corporate. I also will be filing a complaint with my bank. I am very, very, disappointed in the service recovery. read more

I just had the absolute worst experience at your Lake Wylie, SC location to the point I left in tears! I have had a grooming appointment for two weeks for my Bichon. His appointment was for 3:30 PM. I arrived at 3:15. She had dogs everywhere. One in a huge cage on the customer side of the counter, one on the table and three barking in the back. She was alone. Told me her water pressure is low and because of that was backed up. I offered to come back. Was assured not a problem......OK. What WAS a problem was that my dog was shaking with such fear I had never seen him do that before. HE NEEDED TO BE TAKEN TO THE BACK!!!! She kept on grooming the the one on the table. I walked around the store......came back. Still waiting...still my dog is shaking.....then the owner of the one in the cage in front comes in,lets her dog out, my Bichon is almost pooping himself...they "chat". I leave. She finally leaves. I go in ...finally. Now it is past 3:30....I ask does she want me to leave, stay.....what? WHAT IS GOING ON? She pulls his paperwork from the prior groom with someone else.....I tell her I do not want a poodle shave on the face and paws again. Let's even that out and do a little off here and there.....She is now down on the floor.....do I want this? Do I want that? I tell her I have no idea! JUST GROOM HIM! I am leaning over and my head is exploding . Why am I now here THIRTY FIVE MINUTES??? She then says she does not feel comfortable grooming my dog because.....ready for this? I don't know what I want done! I am paying HER to groom him! Why should I know clipper numbers, etc. IN all 8 years I have had this dog I have never encountered such an idiot! I would not expect her to come into my classroom and I ask her what I should teach! I was too upset to drive home and had to sit in my car for awhile. My dog is filthy and needs to be groomed! I will post everywhere physically possible NEVER to use these grooming services from ANY Petsense. Should be called NONSENSE! How dare you treat a customer like this! read more

This place was great! I walked in and everything was so neat and clean. I was greeted with a smile and she not only told me where to find my dogs food but walked with me and helped me select the best fit. I also love the fact that they do buy 10 bags get one free. Super important when you have big dogs that go through food like crazy. The prices are comparable to anywhere else I have been. I will definitely return and recommend that everyone should go too!!! I hate that they have one other review and it was so negative. Some people put majority negative reviews. Speaks tons to their character. Don't let my or the other review sway your decision. Tried to run in to grab a few cans of pet food, waited around at the counter for quite a while and never saw a single associate. There was somebody when I walked in but they disappeared as soon as I walk down aisle. I walked the store but the only person I saw was a busy groomer. Even said "hello" out loud (apparently to myself) a few times and no one responded. Left my stuff at the counter and will not be back. This is ridiculous. So this review is for the groomers be warm this is by fact the worst place I ever been to, do not bring your cat to this place or any animal to this place to get groomed. Clearly the only people who gives this place a good review are family and friends. If you advertise you can groom a cat at least be able to do it I don't mind paying money for it because I know it's hard but these people take the prize at worst job ever. I came here around 10 was told they can groom my poor cat and just take a eighth of hair off, I'm a engineer so I figured I know my measurements you would think. I have a tuxedo cat half black half white, after they were done he was all white. I don't even know how that is even possible, took forever to get it down too. They didn't call me to let me know they were done so I came by after a workout in gym clothes to be racial profile by some tall bald creep, then see my cat just there depressed treated horribly. I should have seen the signs from the start for God sake they have kittens for adoption that look so miserable and neglected. The older female groomer that I assume did the job acted like my mistreated bald cat was normal and that she did such a great job, it took me so much Strength and Composure to not blow my top off. I will never and I mean NEVER come to this place again for a grooming. Now to be fair I'm not sure about the products in general or prices looked kind of bland but seriously management hire better groomers or something because they are killing your business.
