i came here for my dogs first grooming and first off they did terrible and blamed my dog for fussing when it was his first time and they're supposed to be trained professionals i wasn't gonna write a bad review because they said it was free for not finishing his grooming but after this visit my poor pup was sent to the hospital because they cut his nail really bad and blamed my dog for it nothing against petsmart but someone of the workers were a little rude while dealing with my bleeding dog the only nice one was one of the managers she helped and payed for the hospital bill other than that every other worker was rude and banned my dog from getting groomed. sorry if the pics are graphic but he was dripping blood. read more

We had a great experience with this location while on vacation. We brought our older Labrador to California to experience the beach and had her stay at this pet hotel one night and day. They took great care of her and she smelled good after her exit bath. A few days later when she overdid it at the beach and was stiff and in pain, I tried calling our vet for recommendations, but they were closed. I ended up calling the PetSmart location to see if they carried any pain relievers and they said they had aspirin for canines. The employees were super nice each time we visited. Highly recommend this place! read more

Their grooming salon and groomers is the worst place to take your dog. They were acting like I don't know how to take care of my dog. My dog is 13 years old. I know my dog. My dog alllwayssssss poops diarrhea when he gets to the groomer. I even carry paper and bags with me because I know.He always poops out of the salon.Today he pooped inside of the salon and the girls didn't want to take my dog. ( when I arrived did we're talking to each other who was going to take my dog they didn't want to take it in the begging, they were just trying to get an excuse to not take my dog) He is not sick I know, I'm the owner, he poops normal at home. But unfortunately when get stress out he poops diarrhea. Then she said that if my dog poops diarrhea when he is with them they will take him to the vet without my authorization. If a dog is having issues they have to call the owner and ask him what vet they use and if is ok to take him, what if they take him and the owner doesn't have the money to pay. That I was signing that , Im not stupid they didn't want to take my dog because they want to go home early to watch the Super Bowl. The manager even told me to take it other appointment other day. Well today is the day I can come, I work every day.. Sunday is when I can bring my dog to the grooming salon. Where I had paid more than $100.00 for services. If you are not available to work on a Sunday don't take work. If you are angry because you are working on Sunday don't come to work. Unfortunately for me my regular grooming lost his business due to a fire I miss that grooming salon so much. They won't judge me because my dog is stress out, they would care for him and make him feel home, I can imagine what the do the dog there( PetSmart grooming)because mine was extremely stress out. I choose not to Leave him there. The girls there look irritated with dogs, they supposed to love dogs. read more

There grooming service sucks! They always give me complications and never end up taking my dog!

I took two of my dogs, a German Shepard and poodle, here when my family and I went on vacation. We had told them to make sure to get a hold of us if anything happened. Clearly mentioned that I would like know before anything. I called after the first night and they told me both were doing fine. One of my dogs was taken to the vet during her second night there. They called us at 3 in the morning and we did not answer because we were asleep. They called us the next morning telling us they we're going to charge us all of the emergency expenses. I asked why she had been taken to the vet in the middle of the night. They claimed they did not know what happened. Saying that perhaps she had scratched herself. That night we had also received a phone call from the vet and they left a voicemail mentioning that our our dog had come in with possible bites from a dog. I respectfully asked to speak with a manager again and was told he was on lunch. I asked for a call back and I did not hear from him until we returned from our trip to pick up our poodle. I had to ask a friend to pick up our German Shepard that day. We had to return early from our trip to care of our dog. I understand that accidents can happen but the fact that they did not take responsibility for what happened. I am never bringing my dogs here again. My dogs are trained and very well taken care of this hurt me so much to see her scared and in pain. She is not the same around others. read more

I go here to get cat food and litter sand and dont get me wrong i like this location but somehow the cashier today was plain out ughh i dont even know how to describe her like she does not have any kind of personality...not even a little friendly side. She rung me up in such a lifeless way and after i had paid my items, i was still standing there waiting for her while she whispers "hang on....hold on a sec....ok u can go now" LIKE WTFFFF was that about?!! Come on! I already spent $$ for some cat foods, the least u can do for your customer is gave them such a weird awkward experience. She looked like she did not want to be there at all today. LOL. Should've called in and sick or else get this type of reviews haha My Petsmart trip was super weird though.... And btw i think her name is Kayla read more

I loved brining my dog here for grooming. But it's been nearly impossible to make an appointment due to long hold times. I finally got someone to answer today (she was not in grooming), and she rudely asked, "why can't you just do this online?".. to which I said "online doesn't allow booking for nail cut only". She said "well you're going to have to wait. I'm waiting on a customer and don't have time for this". I hung up and booked with the location in Long Beach. Sad, but I won't be back. read more

I was a fan of petsmart and their accommodation to the returns in case your fur baby didn't like the product oh purchased. I've been a loyal customer, I've gotten all Boo's grooming done at petsmart also. This petsmart disappointed me. TERESA is the worst kind of human being. She hurt my pupp. Grinder his nails so short to the cartilage. My dog was literally licking his paws and nails back to health for like 2 weeks. I have not been back to their grooming salon since. They didn't even feel bad for hurting him. She didn't even bother telling me she cut it so short, which is even worse. Because of this one shitty human messing with his nail grinding he is always so nervous and hesitant to get it done now. Ruined the experience for him. read more

I came here once before to get my dogs nail trimmed by some lady, and I was happy with the results, she approached my dog well ( he has anxiety with other people ) no barking towards her or nth. But I came today to get my dog nail trim and the guy approached my dog horribly WRONG, he was approaching him way too fast so obviously my dog started growling and barking at him so they refused to cut my dog nails so I left to petco and no problem there at all, never going here ever again that's forsure read more

These guys take great care of my dog Luna when I bring her in. I know she may be giving them a hard time the last few visits (She gets nervous and pees all over the floor), but they still handle her really well. We've been going to this petsmart store to have our dogs haircut for a long time BUT what happened today was very UNACCEPTABLE! So... i scheduled our 2 dogs for a haircut then when we got there one of the employee was waiting for us to let us know THAT the groomer who was scheduled to give our dogs haircut... Called In, so the employee who waited for us talked to the manager and see if they can still accommodate our dogs for the scheduled haircut but then at the end they weren't able to accommodate us and they wanted to re schedule the appointment at any day and time... So for me that is busy with work and only have weekends to do errands this was just a waste of time, they could've just called me right away and let me know that the groomer called in... but No! read more

This happened at my dogs last grooming appointment. Everytime I've used petsmart grooming the services have been okay, never outstanding, but for the price I didn't mind. Usually, Mango, goes in for just a bath and brush and is in an out in about 2 hrs. On his last grooming appointment I dropped Mango off at 9 am. When we got there Mango was the only dog there and when I booked the night before they had plenty of availability. I went home and started getting some work done for my business and lost track of time getting paperwork done. I finally look at the clock and realize that Mango has been at the groomers for over 3 hrs and I have yet to receive a call. I got worried and called letting them know that I wanted to check in on my dog since grooming has never taken so long. I was advised by the groomer that since it was a slow day for them, she took her time with him so he could enjoy his bath. I thought it was weird but I didn't think much of it at the moment and was told he was done and I could pick him up. I arrived about 15 min after I made the call and still had to wait almost 10 minutes for them to bring Mango out, even though there were no other dogs. I paid, we left and I didn't think much of it. However the neck morning I noticed that Mango was continuously licking his Carpal pad (loated on the back part of the front legs). After taking a look at his pad I come to find that they completely cut and severed his Carpal pad, I'm assuming, while cleaning up his legs. I understand accidents happen, and though I would have been upset I would have understood if they had let me know. However they didn't, and finally all that extra time he was held following his appointment made sense. Needless to say I will not be taking either of my dogs to petsmart for grooming ever again. With all of my experiences with them, including this one, it is not worth using petsmart grooming services at the expense of you pups well being. Please, if you love your dog, take them to a licensed groomer not to petsmart where they will literally hire and train anyone off the street who simply could care less about your pooch. read more

Honestly the customer services here is not the greatest. I would rather drive the extra miles down the road to the Buena Park or Long Beach. (This is not based on 1 visit but multiple experiences). I write this not be mean but for their team to improve their quality of Customer Service. read more

I brought my puppy here for training and left disappointed. I actually paid for 4 private one-on-one lessons. He's a sweet boy but can be a little afraid of people and other dogs. And I'm not blaming the trainer, I understand that she could only do so much in one hour once a week. She was fine. But I didn't appreciate the way the lessons ended. The trainer's last words: "Avoid people and other dogs." Um, like, are you serious? Can I get my money back?! Despite being rejected by their groomers, he frequently spends time at doggie day camp and stays overnight in the hotel when we go out of town. The "pawgress" reports are always the same. He's a loving, sweet dog. Played well with other dogs and loves attention. Ate well, slept well, etc. Despite the "pawsitive" report, he usually smells freshly washed as if they were forced to bathe him. Once they told us that another dog peed on him. Let's just say I have my suspicions. On the bright side, the report and/or receipt typically include a coupon for future visits. And sometimes you can buy a toy when paying that will actually save you money. Plus, the staff is very kind and patient with my pup during drop-off and pick-up...but Lord only knows what goes on once I leave. read more

a few months ago I got a new puppy. At this location for shopping, pet hotel and dog training the best. I did the beginners training with Rey and it was nice. The staff got to know Shaquira welll and she eats up all their love. I recently used the Pethotel for 6 days. They explained everything..and I called through my trip. They let.me know how she was having fun...loved attention. They told me she lived playing with a particular puppy Bella. They told me she really liked Bella. Bella actually is her sister. My sister took her dog.as well so they gave my sister reports on both gigs when we call. I will use them again they really took care of Shaquira n Bella. Let me start by saying if I had the option of putting 0 Stars I would. If you plan on getting grooming done do yourself a favor and never get Jeanette. She literally hates her job and is just buying time working at petsmart. She already hated the fact that I had an express service so she didn't want to groom my dog. To add insult to injury she was discriminating towards my dog because she's handicap. I had to keep watching her groom my dog because I didn't trust her to be alone with her. We usually go to a different business to get our dogs haircut and because of what is going on they have been closed. We decided to take our almost 4 month labradoodle in for his very first trim. Well let me just say it was the biggest mistake we have made!! Our pup went in looking really nice and shaggy and also mentioned to the groomers that a little trim and just a trim around the eyes so he was able to see better. Tell me why we pick him up and he now looks nothing like my dog and was even trimmed with clippers around the eyes when we specifically told them not to do nothing more than a trim around the eyes!! Very disappointing..... read more

Our dog's groomer is excellent! Great customer service from the staff! Our dog got trained here. Good prices for dog food and toys.

Horrible experience. The grooming cashier (Diana) upcharged us by stating the person who placed the order online was wrong and that it cost an additional $10 for top pup and had no knowledge for placing that charge. She didn't tell us what that means. We had actually asked another staff member on a previous day who said it would cost $15, so it was very confusing to have the upcharge on the day of the appointment. When we went back inside 1.5 hours later to ask how long it would take for our puppy to finish, she asked what service we got, but she was the same cashier who checked us in. She had a very rude attitude when replying back to our questions. On top of that, she was on her phone when responding to us - the customer. I was also standing outside for an hour, and she didn't acknowledge or provide any updates on our puppy and by this time it was already 90 minutes since I brought my puppy in. The store was also empty for at least 15 minutes. I even have a photo as evidence. Because it was our puppy's first experience, we were very worried and had questions, but the cashier was not approachable and seemed irritated like she didn't want to answer questions. In the end, we were tired of waiting 1.5 hours for our puppy to dry and we ended up asking to dry him at home. We have the time stamp of every interaction. The invoice said the duration of the appointment was 120 minutes, but this is incorrect because when I checked him in at 12:25pm, the end time on the receipt shows 3:08pm. It took 1.5 hours for him to dry.... When we got our puppy, he was ALREADY very warm and dry!!! Never again!!! read more

Just to preface, I've been getting my dog groomed at Petsmart since it opened a few years back. And also just to preface, I'd give them a zero star rating if it was possible. So last month we bring my dog in just like we always do. But this time, we get a call a few hours later from someone in grooming (who we later find out was the grooming manager) saying they've been trying to reach us and that we've left my dog there too long and that if we don't pick her up soon they'll send her to the Pets Hotel and charge us. Um, okay... So we go and pick my dog up and the same lady (the grooming manager) starts chiding us about how we have to pick our dog up within an hour after she's done being groomed. She then continues to tell us that she's checked and it looks like we have a "record" of picking up our dog late. At this point we're totally confused because we've been coming to this Petsmart for almost 3 years now and no one has ever, ever mentioned this? So we ask her if this is a written policy? And she replies, no. Interesting. Then when we checkout, we find out that we're paying less than we usually do. So we asked the lady about it and she tells us we never clarified what grooming package we wanted so they gave her a basic bath. Okay...so...let me get this straight...you had time to check my records to see that I've been leaving my dog here "too long," yet you couldn't look through those same records to see what grooming package my dog's been using for the past couple of YEARS at your grooming salon? We ended up calling the General Manager afterwards, who was actually very nice. He apologized and explained that they usually like dogs to be picked up sooner rather than later because they need to make room for other dogs, and our dog might need water or need to be let out, etc.. Okay, that I understand. And if their grooming manager had worded it that way, I would have been totally apologetic. But instead, the grooming manager decides to go straight to rude and threaten to charge me a Pets Hotel fee. It's just no way to treat a loyal customer who comes literally every month. Initially I thought, you know what? I'll let this go since I've had a good experience up until this rude manager came along. And the GM was very nice and the rest of the staff is usually nice as well. So a month later I call to schedule an appointment. I suspect the same grooming manager from before answers my call because immediately she sounds moody and unfriendly. I ask to schedule an appointment and she asks for my dog's information. Then she pauses and asks to put me on hold, which I felt was a little weird. Then when she gets back on the phone, she tells me they do have a few appointments but she noticed in our records that we've been leaving our dog late. Then, in a condescending voice, she says..."If you schedule this appointment, can you pick up your dog?" Obviously, I'm not going to schedule an appointment if I can't pick my dog up afterwards. She asked this question to be rude and I suspect she asked this question because she didn't want me to schedule the appointment. It was just a disappointing ordeal all around. I've been a really loyal customer up to this point and for her to be so rude just irks me. And also, if she's been this rude to me up to this point (and even keeping tabs on my dog's records), who knows how she treats my dog behind my back? I ended up calling PETCO (we used to go there before the Petsmart opened) and scheduling a grooming appointment there. Oh, and by the way - we haven't been back there in years and the moment I said my dog's name they instantly remembered her breed and her sweet personality. That's customer service. In the years we went to Petsmart, they've never greeted my dog by name even once despite the fact that she's been a monthly visitor. Anyways, just a long way of saying that I'm incredibly disappointed and will not be doing business at Petsmart again. read more

Yelp requires that I give at least one star, otherwise I'd leave it at zero stars. My family and I have been shopping here for years and never had an issue until today. As I walked in the store holding my infant son, I was "greeted" by a "lady" named Shirley. Shirley didn't greet me with a hello, but instead said to me "You're here for grooming?" and started to laugh out loud with another employee named Pedro. As we walked past them, she screamed out "Just kidding" three times to me. I then shared what had happened with the manager on duty, Devin, who said he would address Shirley. When I saw that nothing was being done by the manager, I went right up to Shirley and told her that I didn't appreciate her comment. Instead of offering an apology, Shirley was defensive and said "Oh, I thought you were someone else." What ever that means. Devin walks up as I'm talking to Shirley and does nothing to smooth out the situation. If there is a protocol for managers to go about during customer complaints, I don't feel Devin followed it or knew anything about it. PetSmart needs to hire employees that are tactful, honest and friendly. Not employees like Shirley, who are the opposite. My family and I, along with any one else looking not to get insulted, will take our business elsewhere. read more

This store pretty close by, so convenient to stop off at when I need to get the dogs something I used to drop them off to doggie day camp once or twice a week, but unfortunately my lab mix got banned for playing too rough....BOO this location is not real big, but does have the dog hotel/camp and also a grooming section too, so you can take care of a few things in one visit. they sent me a 10 off 30 coupon via email, so couldn't help but stop by and make use of it. PetSmart PetsHotel: the worst experience I have ever had. Our dogs were suppose to stay there for about 7 days, but was cut short due to one of them being homesick and stressed out. Even being out of state on a trip, they did not help or show any concern when they told us to pick up our dogs right away because they "did not want to be liable" since one of the dogs was not feeling well. We called some family to pick up our dogs and they mentioned that they smelled a bit off, as if they went to the bathroom all over themselves. I can only assume that the room was not clean before or during their stay... no wonder they suggest that PetSmart give them a bath before pick-up. If we did not have relatives close by to pick up our dogs, who knows what would have happened to them. Never again... read more

This is a pretty new Petsmart and it delivers on the brand-spankin'-newness. Everything is so shiny and clean, but more importantly, the staff is super super friendly and helpful! I have been to so many of the locations and the one nearest to me could really use a little help in the friendly and helpful departments at times! The store is a little smaller than most other locations, but I have found that to be no great hindrance - they still carried what I was looking for, and the manager on duty that night opened up a register to get me through the line even though I was only the second patron waiting. That's great customer service - something I really value :) read more

I've been to many pet stores just because I love spoiling my dog and this by far has been the nicest, cleanest, biggest and friendliest store we've been to! The Grand Opening was so much fun and everyone was super friendly. One of the workers even called my Darcie gorgeous! LOL. There's a second floor to this PetSmart and it's the Pet Hotel. I love how they gave us a tour and a goodie bag afterwards with toys for our pet. They even gave my dog a sample of the sof-serve lactose-free ice cream they offer at the PetHotel. Who knew? But I definitely will bring my dog here after seeing how well kept everything was at the PetHotel. Hopefully everything that was great about their Grand Opening sticks and they won't slack on their service later on because from now on, I'll be taking my dog here vs. the Buena Park PetSmart we usually go to. read more

I have 2 red ear sliders & I come into this store occassionally to purchase feeder fish, usually stop in after we visit the movies. I always thought they didn't carry turtles because I never saw the massive tank or pond that every other store I've been into has... until last month when I looked down & at the bottom of an end cap there were about 4 turtles in a sorry excuse for a habitat. Maybe just a couple of inches of water, definitely not enough for them to dive in & absolutely not for more than 1. I did heavy research before I purchased our turtles & the 1st thing you find in a simple Google search is they need lots of water. Most reptile stores & some chains would not sell you a turtle if you were to show them that aquarium. Being a pet store they should know what's needed. Awhile back I remember talking to a cashier & while explaining my set up she asked why i had so much water. Her being a RES owner i was surprised but now it makes sense. I went in & took a pic just so I could post this review read more

Zero star if i can. I had been here for day camp and groom service. First of all, when we try to check in groom service, they ask for vaccine paperwork. I show them Banfield app. Its not acceptable. So, i have drive all the way back home n come back. Then, they said just for ur info, we cant take pet in for more than 30 minutes late. Seriously, its not our fault that ur computer doesnt link between store. N when we check in as new client. banfield is ur hospital. Whats wrong with using Banfield app. If they told me only paperwork is accept when i make appt, none of those would happen. Plus, one n half hours later, they said its done. My dog came home n smell. They didnt do a good job. Next, We still went back for day camp. This time we r prepared. The staff seem very professional until they put my 14ibs puppy in a rooom with 4 full grown german Shephard n 3 Pitbulls. When we found out, we Request to change to small dog room. Guess what, they said does your dog get attack? Then, we saw on the screen where all dog are corner my puppy the staff do need to intervene. Then, they said only this time, we can change it. But you two need to hide yourself, because when the dog see u, she will get worry. This is ridiculous and not acceptable. What make them think a 14 ibs puppy come to day care for first time can feel comfortable playing with 100 ibs German Shephard and Pitbull. So, image if we check in overnight stay, what could happen. Im not comfortable n definitely not coming back. This is the Worse PetSmart in the area. read more

This review is for the hotel and day care. Our shiba had horrible separation anxiety when we moved to our new place so we couldn't leave him at home and needed to find a to take care of while we were away. Pet Smart was the closest and most economical day care facility that we found. I'm normally weary of big chains, especially when my dogs are involved. But, I had no choice but Pet Smart so I reluctantly brought our shiba there. Well, I was wrong. I should never have felt so weary about taking by dog here. The facilities are clean and well taken care of, but most importantly, the staff is AMAZING and absolutely delightful. They are so friendly and kind. You can tell they love animals, but in the non-pretentious way that you sometimes find at a some pet facilities. At the height of his anxiety, we took our dog 5-6x a week. Now, he's there twice or 3x a week. We've also left him there for overnight stays. I highly recommend them and their staff. read more

For reference: My dog (chocolate Labrador retriever) stayed at the pets hotel during the day and also had a grooming appointment that same day. He did not stay overnight. I dropped him off in the morning and picked him up late afternoon. It was also not a busy day (managers words, not mine). That very same night, my dog began throwing up and even threw up a bit the next morning. When I called to ask if they had fed him anything that may have upset his stomach, they said no and also said they did not feed him any treats. However, when I called to check on him during his stay the girl working there told me she gave him cookies and lunch. I told the manager but she denied the treats and said he barely ate his lunch. My dog hasn't been well since I brought him home and he began coughing a couple of days after his petsmart day. It sounds awful, almost like he has something lodged in his throat. I took him to the vet and they told me that he contracted kennel cough. It's highly contagious and very painful for him when he coughs or eats. It's difficult to even rest and sleep a full night. The vomiting was due to high stress and anxiety. My dog LOVES being around people and I told them that a little reassurance goes a long way with him. He's a rescue dog and does not like to be in a kennel or being left alone for long periods of time. They told me they did in fact put him in a kennel, alone, for at least half of the day. And also the grooming dept downstairs said they also put him in a kennel, even when I asked them not to. My exact notes were that as soon as he is finished I would be standing there waiting for him so he doesn't need to be put in a kennel. I was in the store as they finished up his appointment, and they still placed him in the kennel. I heard him crying. I am sad and furious that in spite of all my instructions and explanations they did not put my rescue dogs needs first. We will not be returning to this store ever again and would recommend that every dog parent ask about the health of the other dogs, and also the cleanliness of the facilities. read more
