we went in there to purchase one green lantern fish and a molly fish and it was like going through child custody,my GOD! #1. We already knew that we had to do a tank cycle which we did and I understand that being questioned #2. then we were questioned on the tank size which we have a 10 gallon tank and was told "we needed a 20 gallon tank! c'mon!!! #3. then we were asked about the food supply and what we planned on feeding them? #4. As she was speaking about the space that the fish needed so that they don't become stressed, I was looking at their gold fish tank which must have had about 100 of them in one tank and this sales person is questioning and declining a saie for two fish that will grow no more than 3 inches in a beautiful filtered exotic plant aquarium? give me a break!!! we went to PETCO and we weren't drilled there like PetSmart did and yet preaching words that they weren't going by, hypocrites! the fish are happy and doing well, they love their plants and love to hide and play and they have their little decor where they go inside and sleep! thank you Petco and get a grip PetSmart!!! read more

I recently moved to the area and decided to bring our small dog here for a bath, brush, and occasional grooming. I was surprised to learn that their prices increase on weekends -- something I've only experienced at PetSmart before. Today I brought my dog in expecting the weekday pricing since it's Friday, but apparently Friday is considered "weekend pricing" too. Unfortunately, they don't mention this when you make the appointment. Because of the lack of transparency, I'll definitely be looking elsewhere for grooming services. read more

Booked an appointment on the app for 5 PM today and received a call saying that they can't do 5 PM. The earliest is 3 PM. This isn't the first time that this happened. I've noticed that a lot of the employees don't want to stay as late as they should on their shift. Just order the pet bathing products online and do it yourself at home to save you the trouble of dealing with people who don't want to do their job. read more

I had went to this petsmart first time due to I was in the area and I have to say there was no welcoming coming in also so many employees and not one says hello or ask if you need help with anything. I did see a sad husky he was in the doggie area I'm assuming waiting for his or her owner to come get them. Never seen it being on top compared to the other petsmart I been too. They didn't gave the dog treats I needed and when checking out the lady seems to not be happy with her job she was white/short/ long black or dark brown hair doesn't have makeup on. She rang me up and she just seems not a happy person also I had asked her to email my receipt she obviously didn't do it. So annoying cause now if my pet doesn't like the food I bought how am I suppose to return it? Show my bank statement?! I think this one needs better employees. Hopefully they are good with the animals there too. read more

Been a customer for the past 10 years however this is the first time I was truly disappointed by the groomers!!! I brought in my puppy for a wash and haircut with DIANA, understanding she was matted. We both agreed perhaps a short haircut would be best, but I didn't realize she was going to go shorter than we discussed. I don't think she enjoys her job, she seemed very rushed and just wanted to shave my puppies fur off so she can go home.. She called 1 hour later to say my puppy was ready because she had a cancellation. Called me repeatedly to pick her up because they close soon. Truly unprofessional, will not be coming back. oh and My total was $113 Don't expect any good work from Diana. Horrible customer service!!! read more

I had an appointment. They wouldn't take the rabies certificate I had even though vet said it was good for 3 years. When I said ok and turned to leave I told my grandson, let me call her usual groomer to see if they could take her. One of the groomers said in a a very sarcastic tone, "ok have a nice day." I know it sounds courteous but If you'd heard her tone you'd agree with that it was total sarcasm. read more

Angie in the fish department was so knowledgeable! She spent time with us and knew all the scientific names as well as the lay person names of different freshwater fish. She knew which blue gourmi fish were male and female and what ratio to buy them in- she was fabulous and knew a ton of fish facts and was so generous with information! I learned so much! Melissa manager please recognize her appropriately as we are so appreciative! read more

I have held off on this review for several months but I am still so bothered by my experience that I am adding it now. I had been a loyal Petsmart customer for more than 20 years. I have had multiple pets over that time, cats and dogs. I have made tons of in store purchases and also had a prescription for my cat. In March of this year my 18 year old cat passed away. Subsequently, we had a lot of unopened cat food and no more cats, so I went to return the recently purchased food, including the prescription food. When I explained the return to the Petco "associate" he didn't seem to know how to process the transaction. He was so rude and just called out to his manager (I guess that's who she was) "Her cat died. She wants to return the food." He NEVER at any point said anything like, "Sorry about your cat.", and, BTW, neither did his manager. She came over to assist him, she never acknowledged me. She spoke directly to the cashier. She stated to HIM that he wouldn't be able to accept the prescription, never even looked my way. In the end, they managed to process the return of all of the items, but my takeaway was that Petsmart really doesn't give a damn about loyal customers or customers in general, including PETS!!! I still have pets and will continue to but I wouldn't ever spend another dime with Petsmart. They need to reevaluate their purpose. read more

Liz, Pauline or Paulina and dog trainer.... Amazing customer service! I've been coming here for a while and they've always been nice but I noticed a big improvement today! I didn't have to go looking for anyone, I was approached and asked if I needed any help. They went and got us information about the gecko we bought and helped us make sure we have everything. I can definitely see the optimization done! Customer service improved all around. Come to Cerritos petsmart you won't regret it. Thank you guys! read more

Exceptional customer service, with a team that genuinely cares about helping you. A one-stop solution for all your pet needs.

I took my Yorkie for a baby for his first haircut. I specifically asked just for his belly area to be shaved and anticipated acute Yorky haircut. All they did was shave him completely. The only clipping he received was to the face area. .. so if you want a cute clipping, do not take your Doggie to PetSmart read more

If I could give their pet hotel (-) star, I would do it a thousand times!!! Never bring your precious pets here!!! Their so called hotel looks more like abandoned animal shelters!!! Last time I needed dog food I came here and bought a 31 pound red bag of Purina One with chicken and rice. My dog really loved it especially the chicken. My containers started having sticky things in it. Then I saw bugs and one flew out in my kitchen. Their food is infested. I brought it back to the store and I thought they should let me pick out any bag I wanted after what happened to me and my dog, but she was only going to give me the exact amount I paid as credit. I took the credit I'm going to shop elsewhere. It was truly disgusting. I hope you never go through this with your pet. I hope she doesn't get sick so far she's OK. Don't buy Purina products. The cashier told me that it happens with Purina all the time. I guess I was lucky until now. read more

Brought my pet for grooming for the SECOND TIME and they left my poor dog with razor burn on his private area and left him traumatized, they are truly unprofessional and don't know how to TAKE THEIR TIME ON DOGS ESPECIALLY DIANA! Never bringing my dogs back there again. If they don't like their job they shouldn't be a groomer. They completely shaved him when he wasn't even that matted. These people are horrible and the worst groomers ever. Don't bring your pets here. read more

It's truly heartbreaking & disturbing that u continue to display/sell Beta fish in their tiny 3x3 cups. I asked an employee if they stay there until they're purchased & she said yes. They're only let out 1/week for cleaning. No animal should be kept in a small space, 24/7. I understand they can't all be put in a large tank, but something has to be done. Either accommodate all the fish, stop breeding, or stop selling overall. It is truly no life to live, it doesn't matter how small or large the fish/animals are. STOP. read more

Worse customer service at this PetSmart. Unfortunately this one is the closest to where I live and they are terrible here. The workers are extremely rude and don't help their customers. The lady working had to yell that the bags were 10 cents. How freaking rude. Y'all are the worse place ever. Horrible and demeaning workers. My furbabies are a "special" breed. I've never been able to trim their nails no matter what I do. I've purchased the most recommended and expensive nail clippers but just can't seem to get it done. The only place who can get the job done very well is here in this shop. I'm always so thankful for the patience and dedication the crew have for my little ones. I don't usually book on weekends, because I know it's always extremely busy. Today was not an exception. But they still got us in and out in time. Even if they say "we'll only do what they will let us". They still do an excellent job, in my opinion. Today, Louis is our excellent crew who got my little girls nail trimmed and bath. Highly recommend this place read more

Our dog loves coming to this PetsHotel Doggy DayCamp. But because of his separation anxiety, he hates being in the spaces alone. Can't knock the place for this. But they seem to keep him well occupied and play with him a lot. He always comes back tired and I love when they provide the report card. The store itself is larger than some of the others I've been to and they seem to have the better selection of toys, food, and clothes. read more

The manager that's blonde and short and very very rude. She does not know how to speak to customers. She does not belong being a lead in that facility whatsoever. She really does need to be overseen and overviewed on how she speaks to her customers because my experience today was totally unacceptable. I literally just walked in and asked her about mice and she responding in a very rude abruptly way in which her job as a manager or whatever she is there should be customer service and customer service only and if she can't give that she should not be a lead, I'd like to be contacted through my email in regards to the situation thank you! Any personal problems are left at the door once you clock in bad day or not . read more

I like the store because it has a LOT of pet stuff like all the things you really need for a pet they have it. I usually get stuff from Amazon but I might come here more often to take my dog shopping! The grooming... I would recommend a professional tbh. I don't know how their work is Bc they didn't groom my dog. When I made the appointment, I clearly stated the breed is a husky but it was only when I came in they told me they don't groom huskies. This is my first husky and I'm actually fostering her but I know now that husky fur shouldn't be cut. I still feel like they should have told me before I came in because all they did was basically give her a bath and brush her fur which I do at home perfectly fine. Except this time, I paid $65 to have it done. She is super soft and smells nice though. I would only come again for a deshedding service or a spa day for my husky but not for grooming. read more

Hmm...how have I never reviewed this location? I come here all the time for my pet food/toy and photo needs. Even though there is a petco in an adjacent plaza, I always choose to come to petsmart instead. I feel the store is more engaging and interesting in layout. They always have ample staff members who are ready to help out in any way and the options for food, toys and care products seem more abundant. My dog son has been in their training class before and the Trainer was very kind and patient. Though he didn't learn that much or forgot the stuff taught, at least he was able to become a bit more social with other dogs. My most favorite thing about petsmart is that they're always offering cute photo events on major holidays. For Halloween, they'll have a back drop set up or someone in a costume to post with my dog sons and baby. I was also able to have my 1 year old take Halloween photos with her furry brothers this year. The staff members are always friendly. They also have a lot of in store events with arts and crafts. They really keep their human and furry customers happy and healthy. Keep it up petsmart! We will continue to frequent this location. I would recommend this place to anyone who has pets or is interested in adopting a furry pet. They have pop up adoption events. Mainly cars but ask the store staff for more details on adoption. read more

Very convenient pet hotel for my fur baby (I live in Long Beach). The service is great -- the check in process is pretty fast and they ask for vaccination records and any diet restrictions your dog has up front. You can either give your own food or have them use their own brand of dog food. The place is clean for the most part. The checkout process is a bit of a wait and hassle -- I understand that there are many people checking out at the same time before 12 but more cashiers would be helpful during these busy hours. Recently, I went on a week long vacation and when I got back my dog she smelled really bad even though I paid for the exit bath so not sure what happened there. Also, be prepared to wash everything like blankets and toys that you bring back because they smell just as bad (even had to throw away the bag that carried everything because of the harsh scent). read more

This PetSmart is absolutely MASSIVE! This one has to be by far the biggest one I've ever seen. All the animals look to be treated well and looked great! No dean fish at the top of the tanks like I've seen at other ones. They have a dog training area, dog grooming area, and a pet hotel! The staff was also friendly and helpful. This is a great PetSmart, I definitely recommend it! read more

I WILL NEVER BE RETURNING TO THIS PETSMART. We had 2 of our English bulldogs stay at the hotel. We paid extra for accommodations bc we wanted to make sure our fur babies would be taken care of. We even brought their beds and blankets. However, when we picked up our babies they were all filthy, sticky and full of urine!!! I couldn't believe it! We immediately took them to our groomer bc they were starting to develop a skin infection(They have sensitive skin as it is) We had to throw their beds and blankets. We paid few hundred dollars for VERY POOR SERVICE plus the additional money to get them groomed, vet visit (for skin infection) and new bedding. This is not what you want to deal with after coming back from vacation. This happened a while ago but I think customers should be aware! read more

No star is deserved. It happened over 1 year ago but requires the attention merited. I paid over $200 for dog training by an obnoxious schoolboy named "Ray" that physically abused my pitbull labrador pup in front of the entire class by strangling her. He said to "curb her anxiety" and "assert yourself as the alpha" and by her leash as her little eyes bulged and reddened! I became enraged, got up and snatched the leash out of his hand! He had the audacity to look surprised! My baby cannot swallow correctly to date! If I hadn't acted, this idiot would have killed her, then, unfortunately, would be left no choice but to return the favor! I am outraged at the level of incompetence hired at this store (RAY) that I was eagerly compensated for. Fire this twerp read more

My biggest complaint is that they don't let you see where your dogs play or where they sleep. On top of that they don't have a Webcam to check in. I also don't think they do appropriate walks due to 5 minute long pee my dog took right after picking him and the my other dog took 5 dumps back to back as soon as he got home. Hoped for the best but yeah no. read more

I was really hesitant about going on trips due to not having anybody to take care of my two cats, but I am really happy I found this PetSmart hotel by accident. I have taken my cats here twice already this year and both times my cats have returned home without any distress. I love that I am able to call in everyday to get an update on my cats and that they allow cats out of their room for 15 minutes if they would like without a charge, which is awesome because a lot of places try to charge you for that. I always request two separate rooms that they can share (for more space) with a window view of the store and they don't seem to mind it at all. The staff are always friendly and attentive. They do provide you with a report card of your pets stay, which I really enjoy reading and hope they don't stop giving them out. I would highly recommend this pet hotel! read more
