I was surprised to learn that their prices increase on weekends -- something I've only experienced at PetSmart before. Today I brought my dog in expecting the weekday pricing since it's Friday, but apparently Friday is considered "weekend pricing" too. I've noticed that a lot of the employees don't want to stay as late as they should on their shift. Been a customer for the past 10 years however this is the first time I was truly disappointed by the groomers!!! I brought in my puppy for a wash and haircut with DIANA, understanding she was matted. We both agreed perhaps a short haircut would be best, but I didn't realize she was going to go shorter than we discussed. I don't think she enjoys her job, she seemed very rushed and just wanted to shave my puppies fur off so she can go home.. She called 1 hour later to say my puppy was ready because she had a cancellation. Called me repeatedly to pick her up because they close soon. It's truly heartbreaking & disturbing that u continue to display/sell Beta fish in their tiny 3x3 cups. I asked an employee if they stay there until they're purchased & she said yes. They're only let out 1/week for cleaning. No animal should be kept in a small space, 24/7. I understand they can't all be put in a large tank, but something has to be done. Last time I needed dog food I came here and bought a 31 pound red bag of Purina One with chicken and rice. My dog really loved it especially the chicken. My containers started having sticky things in it. Then I saw bugs and one flew out in my kitchen. Their food is infested. I brought it back to the store and I thought they should let me pick out any bag I wanted after what happened to me and my dog, but she was only going to give me the exact amount I paid as credit. I took the credit I'm going to shop elsewhere. It was truly disgusting. I hope you never go through this with your pet. I hope she doesn't get sick so far she's OK. Don't buy Purina products. My furbabies are a "special" breed. I've never been able to trim their nails no matter what I do. I've purchased the most recommended and expensive nail clippers but just can't seem to get it done. The only place who can get the job done very well is here in this shop. I'm always so thankful for the patience and dedication the crew have for my little ones. I don't usually book on weekends, because I know it's always extremely busy. Today was not an exception. But they still got us in and out in time. Even if they say "we'll only do what they will let us". They still do an excellent job, in my opinion. Today, Louis is our excellent crew who got my little girls nail trimmed and bath. But they seem to keep him well occupied and play with him a lot. He always comes back tired and I love when they provide the report card. The manager that's blonde and short and very very rude. She does not know how to speak to customers. She does not belong being a lead in that facility whatsoever. She really does need to be overseen and overviewed on how she speaks to her customers because my experience today was totally unacceptable. I like the store because it has a LOT of pet stuff like all the things you really need for a pet they have it. I usually get stuff from Amazon but I might come here more often to take my dog shopping! The grooming... I would recommend a professional tbh. I don't know how their work is Bc they didn't groom my dog. When I made the appointment, I clearly stated the breed is a husky but it was only when I came in they told me they don't groom huskies. This is my first husky and I'm actually fostering her but I know now that husky fur shouldn't be cut. I still feel like they should have told me before I came in because all they did was basically give her a bath and brush her fur which I do at home perfectly fine. Except this time, I paid $65 to have it done. She is super soft and smells nice though. I would only come again for a deshedding service or a spa day for my husky but not for grooming. read more

Took my dog here for grooming a few times and the last time i took her they found fleas and said they have to use a flea shampoo and charge me $10 extra which would have been fine if they told me before even booking the appointment. They have a lot of hidden fees beware. Will try petco grooming. read more

I WILL NEVER BE RETURNING TO THIS PETSMART. We had 2 of our English bulldogs stay at the hotel. We paid extra for accommodations bc we wanted to make sure our fur babies would be taken care of. We even brought their beds and blankets. However, when we picked up our babies they were all filthy, sticky and full of urine!!! I couldn't believe it! We immediately took them to our groomer bc they were starting to develop a skin infection(They have sensitive skin as it is) We had to throw their beds and blankets. We paid few hundred dollars for VERY POOR SERVICE plus the additional money to get them groomed, vet visit (for skin infection) and new bedding. This is not what you want to deal with after coming back from vacation. This happened a while ago but I think customers should be aware! read more

Hmm...how have I never reviewed this location? I come here all the time for my pet food/toy and photo needs. Even though there is a petco in an adjacent plaza, I always choose to come to petsmart instead. I feel the store is more engaging and interesting in layout. They always have ample staff members who are ready to help out in any way and the options for food, toys and care products seem more abundant. My dog son has been in their training class before and the Trainer was very kind and patient. Though he didn't learn that much or forgot the stuff taught, at least he was able to become a bit more social with other dogs. My most favorite thing about petsmart is that they're always offering cute photo events on major holidays. For Halloween, they'll have a back drop set up or someone in a costume to post with my dog sons and baby. I was also able to have my 1 year old take Halloween photos with her furry brothers this year. The staff members are always friendly. They also have a lot of in store events with arts and crafts. They really keep their human and furry customers happy and healthy. Keep it up petsmart! We will continue to frequent this location. I would recommend this place to anyone who has pets or is interested in adopting a furry pet. They have pop up adoption events. Mainly cars but ask the store staff for more details on adoption. read more

Very convenient pet hotel for my fur baby (I live in Long Beach). The service is great -- the check in process is pretty fast and they ask for vaccination records and any diet restrictions your dog has up front. You can either give your own food or have them use their own brand of dog food. The place is clean for the most part. The checkout process is a bit of a wait and hassle -- I understand that there are many people checking out at the same time before 12 but more cashiers would be helpful during these busy hours. Recently, I went on a week long vacation and when I got back my dog she smelled really bad even though I paid for the exit bath so not sure what happened there. Also, be prepared to wash everything like blankets and toys that you bring back because they smell just as bad (even had to throw away the bag that carried everything because of the harsh scent). read more

No dean fish at the top of the tanks like I've seen at other ones. They have a dog training area, dog grooming area, and a pet hotel! The staff was also friendly and helpful. My biggest complaint is that they don't let you see where your dogs play or where they sleep. On top of that they don't have a Webcam to check in. I also don't think they do appropriate walks due to 5 minute long pee my dog took right after picking him and the my other dog took 5 dumps back to back as soon as he got home. I was really hesitant about going on trips due to not having anybody to take care of my two cats, but I am really happy I found this PetSmart hotel by accident. I have taken my cats here twice already this year and both times my cats have returned home without any distress. I love that I am able to call in everyday to get an update on my cats and that they allow cats out of their room for 15 minutes if they would like without a charge, which is awesome because a lot of places try to charge you for that. I always request two separate rooms that they can share (for more space) with a window view of the store and they don't seem to mind it at all. The staff are always friendly and attentive. They do provide you with a report card of your pets stay, which I really enjoy reading and hope they don't stop giving them out. I would highly recommend this pet hotel! read more

I paid over $200 for dog training by an obnoxious schoolboy named "Ray" that physically abused my pitbull labrador pup in front of the entire class by strangling her. He said to "curb her anxiety" and "assert yourself as the alpha" and by her leash as her little eyes bulged and reddened! I became enraged, got up and snatched the leash out of his hand! He had the audacity to look surprised! My baby cannot swallow correctly to date! If I hadn't acted, this idiot would have killed her, then, unfortunately, would be left no choice but to return the favor! I am outraged at the level of incompetence hired at this store (RAY) that I was eagerly compensated for. Fire this twerp read more

Came here so my dog could get groomed. Now I understand why people rate so poorly. Upon letting them take my dog I let the front desk girl, Brandy, know my dog is shy and shows her big eyes cause she's nervous. She said it was no problem and as she put the leash over her neck my dog didn't want to go. She does this even at the vet, and the vet people don't complain they still attend to her. After two minutes of her talking nicely to my dog to "come" she tells me to go outside and that she'd call me if anything happens or with any updates. I go outside but I'm still in the store looking through the glass. She then asks her coworker for help, who immediately pulls on the leash and chokes my dog (who was still sitting in place). They assumed my dog was aggressive and were petting her to see if she'd give any reaction. Out of stress my dog pooped, so the girl who took over calls me back inside and tells me "she pooped, so it doesn't look like she's willing to come in". I picked up the poop as she kept pulling on the leash for my dog to go inside. I offered to pick up my dog and put her in for them but the girl said "she needs to come in willingly". I took it as they didn't want to treat my dog for whatever reason. I was patient with them but it was very obvious they didn't want to assist her. The girl then proceeds to give me "tips" on what I should do so my dog can be more open to humans as I'm taking off the damn leash that was chocking her. I ignored her completely (my dog is very well behaved and trained, obviously not to strangers, I was not about to get into it with her). Do not recommend this PetSmart they have the power to cancel if they want to. read more

I've brought my poodle terrier mix there several times for grooming. They are usually very nice. It's been 3 times that I've taken him and he's gotten a skin infection. I always like the way he looks and smells after so I decided to give them one more shot and asked them to make sure they clean their tools before working on my dog bc he got an infection last time. This time was the worst. He contracted ringworm. My dog isn't around other dogs and lives inside. There is not other place he would have contracted it. It not only cost me in vet bills BUT he spread it to me and my dad. So we need treatment also. I will not be going back. read more
