Recently, took my dog to the Crossroad pet resort. I hadn't been there for a while however I needed to go to the hospital and didn't have a pet sitter. My two furry babies loved going there. They came home exhausted from playing and all the exercise they got. If you're looking for a new place to take your fur babies and make sure they are taking good care of give this place a try. Make sure you make an appointment at the facility even if you don't plan on leaving your babies here - go in check it out and find out what paperwork and shots are needed. This review is coming from knowing a friend for years that has had two fear baby's since I have known the family. Every time they have to leave town this is their spot. And after years of dropping of the family baby before a trip or any other reason he and his wife have to go out of town this is their spot. Fourth of July any vacations any time they will have to leave their house for more than a day it gets to go to the pup daycare. As a matter of fact.they have even been able to meet other pet owners that they have talked to and set day play dates. Super awesome staff that makes sure to monitor the behavior between the dogs and help make friends. You can do normal boring and even pay for a private room. I am writing this with a heavy heart. During what supposed to be a 2day stay, my beloved Roxy tragically DIED. She got GVD (bloat) while under their care. She was rushed to the emergency hospital, it was severe according to the xray. Due to her age (12yrs old), she would likely not survive the 10k surgery. I made the painful decision to have her euthanized. All this happened while I was at a town, plus the facility does not provide an emergency phone number during non-business hours. The communication after the incident, was cold and dismissive. To this day, I am left with unanswered questions about what truly happened, especially when her vet wrote a doctor's note saying she was in good health to board at this resort. When I was grieving and desperate for answers, the owner finally called. His call came in as if it was an inconvenience (24hrs later). He was rude, cold and completely lacking compassion. He was sarcastic by saying " what do you want me to do? Give you one of my dogs?". He was yelling at me. He was defensive and was completely void of empathy. When I asked to return the money that I had spent so far, he said. "That's not going to happen", with a disdain tone. I ended up hanging up on him, and he later wrote a long text, and at the end he apologized for his emotions getting the best of him. By this time the damage was done. If you value your pet's life, I strongly urge you to take them somewhere else. I wouldn't want someone else to go to the same tragedy and pain as I have. read more

This place was recommended by another kennel because they were out of space that weekend. And I am happy they did. They were able to take in our Shepard last minute. They have been our go to since. And even though I said last minute they are very thorough-we brought him in a couple days before for a behavioral assessment and they needed all his medical paperwork to make sure vaccines were up to date and he also needed a negative giardia test. All things I am happy to hand over because it means my baby is going to a well managed, clean facility. My dog loved it and comes home "good, happy and tired". He is young so he is always full of energy. Also you know it's a good place when your dog willing walks in the door excited knowing where he is at. For boarding they have a lot of extras you can choose from to make their stay more enjoyable. We always add on the peanut butter treat. We bring him in with his meals portioned out (or you can choose for them to feed them with their food), his blanket he sleeps an and a toy from home he can sleep with in the kennel. Last few times we add on a bath at the end of his stay and he comes home so clean and soft. The staff is so nice too. They allow me to feel relaxed and not worry about my baby when I am away. He will be returning for another stay soon. read more

My dog stayed here twice within a 2 month span last year. The first time was amazing. The second time, he caught a staph infection and they refused to take responsibility or even acknowledge it. Their website stated they would cover $300 in vet bills but when I asked for the $300 (all the while, the vet bills exceeded $500), they refused. Our dogs have been here twice for 3 days each time . It's the same price regardless if you drop off early morning or late afternoon. Our dogs seemed happy and were housed together. There was a 10% discount for having two dogs. Food is recommended in baggies, tagged, three/day. I like to place some dog treats in there to make our dogs feel special. This place is the best to take your pet to if you need them to have a play date or need them to be housed while away. They have so many options available. They house the pets according to their size so no issues. If you have special needs just tell them. By the exterior you wouldn't know that this place is huge. The pets sleep in climate controlled environment great for heat or rain. Some other places offer cameras to watch your pet, which I really wish this one did have. but I've tried the other places and they are far inferior to this place in the care of our fur babies. My Gizmo loves coming here! We bring our dog quite often and each time I know he enjoys his stay. We usually board Gizmo and there is never an issue getting a reservation. Staff are all very kind and they all know Gizmo! We don't usually get anything extra like walks or bully sticks. I know Gizmo is playing with his friends all day so I don't find it necessary. Drop off is Monday through Saturday. No Sundays. Pick up is before 10 am but you can leave your dog for daycare at a discounted rate. They have grooming service as well so after an X amount of days they recommend your dog get a bath. Overall, I recommend Crossroads. In terms of pricing, I'm not sure if it's expensive compared to other places. I just know that when Gizmo is there I have piece of mind because I know he is being well taken care of. read more

My dog Dexter loves going to crossroads pet resort!! The. Staff is friendly and accommodating. The ladies in the front are always very friendly. I have been taking my dog here since he was a puppy for day care a few times a month. We have used their overnight boarding service when going on vacation twice and both times we have had no issues. We've been taking our dog Charlie to Crossroads for A few years now. He goes to daycare about twice a month and loves playing with other dogs. We've never had issues with him staying here and have gotten comfortable enough to leave him for extended stays for boarding when we are out of town. From weekends to a trip that went three weeks. Staff has always been friendly. The check-in and out process is smooth. I recommend this place if you're in need of dog daycare or boarding. read more

This review is long overdue, this happened last year May 2023. As far as I know there is no regulations on 'pet resorts/boarding in California. If there were not sure this place would be open. We have taken our dog here occasionally for doggie day care and overnight stays, without any problems. However, our dog had issues with anxiety, arthritis and allergies. He had just turned 11. He was not a playful dog just needed the company of humans. I was worried and was reassured - 'he will be fine'. No tours of the 'executive suites', next door private residence - sorry. We were scheduled to be away for 18 days - long time for a senior dog. May be doable if the dog is well taken care of. Depends on how many dogs a place takes in. On doggie day care when he was sitting in a cage, (I suspect) it was roughly 25 - 40 dogs on the 'sign in' sheet. Depending on what time of the day I dropped off my dog. Could have been a lot more. I received a phone call while in Germany on a Tuesday "your dog is barely breathing he's on the way to your vet now". It was a long night, talks with our vet, not sure what happened but he had a pink eye and seemed fatigued and didn't eat. Vitals were fine. More tests need to be taken have to come back tomorrow. We rescheduled our flight to come home 4 days later, the following Monday. Wednesday more vet calls, he was now eating a little bit. Saturday another phone call - our dog is now on his way to the ER vet in Irvine he had hematoma on his shoulder/leg it busted open, blood all over. Phone calls with ER vet - and the 'executive suite' owner. NOBODY knew what had happened to him. He was in crossroads care, and they had no IDEA...... Vet suggested possibly close the wound $800 dollars the other option is about four to five thousand to operate on the wound. It was days from HELL - mostly for our dog with his anxiety issues. We rescued him at the age of 7 from a high kill shelter, we wanted to give him a second chance. I have my mom in Sweden and need to visit yearly. I was done with crossroads at this point and had my girlfriend drive from Las Vegas to pick up our dog, and Anette with crossroads was more than happy with that solution. My girlfriend showed up quite late and went straight to the executive suite as she described as a brothel, a dozen dog cages along the wall, shower curtains covering the windows, you would have NOT dropped off your dog here if you've seen this place, she told me. Our dog was laying on the floor in a dark room all by himself he's right leg was in a 'cast' like bandage. His paw severely swollen he was not able to walk on this leg. My girlfriend was crying in the car home, she couldn't believe the shape our dog was in. All the meds he was taken. 2 days later we were finally home, to pick him up. The vacation was definitely ruined more important was our dog. I went to talk to crossroads, a few days later to the GM - nice woman. Dan wasn't there we had endured almost $4000 thousand dollars, in vet bills, change of tickets etc. Crossroads gave me some money back, which did of course help. I was promised a thorough explanation to what had happened. I never received one. I believe they simply put our dog in one of them dog cages locked the door and let him deal with his anxiety on his own. I'm not sure our dog would have survived this place 2 more days. I don't think this place is where you take a senior dog, a place like this is only good until its not. It's all about the DOLLARS.........not about care or love or this would have never happened. I even asked them to not lock him in the dog cages at night.....apparently they didn't listen. What a mistake trusting Dan with our 4-month old puppy. After 7 days and over $1000 we had to take her to a vet for a bad eye infection that got worse thanks to careless training - they wouldn't even return her drops that we gave them and asked them to give to Stella. Our vet also needed to check Stella for a bee sting during her stay at crossroads which swelled her face and required immediate treatment by their vet costing another $2-300. What kind of facility with a "special" puppy care section allows a young puppy to get near bees. They even forgot to give her a bath! Dan nor any manager called me back to address these concerns, despite their promise to do so. Stay away from this place- your dog deserves better!! read more

I'm disappointed that my first experience with this place was below par! I had left a message several days ago indicating I was interested in daycare for my dog - but sadly no one called me back! So I dropped in to take a tour WITHOUT my pet in tow, and Marissa indicated that there would be no tours as they were undergoing renovation period! Not apologetic, not sympathetic - just matter of fact, almost rude! I pressed to see when I could come back to tour and she grudgingly conceded touring on Friday at a specific time, but could only tour the play yard - that's it! I asked if I could see where the dogs are housed for overnight stays and she said absolutely not! Only employees are allowed back there!! I would want to see the size of the quarters in which the pets sleep overnight - but that is not permitted here! Wow! Every other facility has been happy to show us all aspects of the resort, so I'm a little taken aback! Too bad, as this place was so highly recommended by my neighborhood friends. A daycare customer indicated her pet has been coming here for years, so they must provide good care. But I can't put my baby somewhere without knowing what kind of accommodations they provide. So disappointed and kind of sad - had high hopes for this place 5/31/19 Jamie from Crossroads returned my call yday and patiently listened to my concerns. He indicated he was going to report it to his superiors and was sorry to see me write off this business! Becky from Crossroads called me today to apologize and was very empathetic about my concerns. She offered me a tour of facilities and also offered to show me the boarding facilities and the Executive house where my pet could stay overnight for a little extra. I was touched by their concerns about my initial negative reaction and the lengths they were willing to go to to earn my business. They sound genuinely caring especially about their furry guests. Maybe I will give them a try after all. Update 6/2019: So I decided to break down and give them a try, especially since they were so apologetic and genuinely wanted my business. Took my baby in for evaluation and 4 hour daycare - was welcomed, given a tour, etc. Picked my pet up In 4 hours and a few days later found he got Kennel Cough from being at daycare!!!! I've taken my dog here before for grooming for a bath brush cut, the works. I dont think i will be returning from the tone of the groomer to how she treated those working with her. Definetly wasn't pleasant and my dog collar and leash was given to a different dog owner. She apologized. In regards to my dog grooming, it appears he was just given a bath and really not much of a cut given. He had his anal glands expressed but still had a little number 2 in his butt there. 40 dollars spent wasnt really worth it as it has in the past. Onward to another dog grooming spot where the groomer isnt agitated and fustrated with an older lady she is working with and clearly expressing some type of anger wherever it may be. This review is a little overdue but we initially boarded our dog in August while we were out of town. The initial booking process and social test experiences were great! They were having technical hiccups at the time of booking but they were very attentive and accommodating. I understand things can come up. The front staff at the time were very warm and friendly. My negative experience came from the actual days of boarding. I arrived about 5 minutes early from opening hours and tapped on the door in case anyone was inside and the door was by a very annoyed employee with no greeting at all, but I understand, it's early in the morning. A weird start to the experience but I figured it was an off day. The entire time while I was filling out paper, I just got a feeling they just wanted me to hurry up and leave. I had to ask questions to get pick up information and general information about the stay that I thought would be protocol to let me know without me having to ask. Unfortunately, when I picked my dog up - she caught kennel cough. I took her to the vet and the doctor told me she most likely got it from boarding as dogs usually catch it amongst other dogs. When I was contacted for feedback, I did mention about my dog catching kennel cough. I didn't make a big fuss about it, i was telling them as a concern but the person on the other line didn't even seemed concerned. There was no standard "sorry to hear that" they literally said "oh..." and that was about it. At that point I already paid all of my vet bills and I was so thrown off by the response, I was tempted to ask them to pay partial for my dog's medical bills but I didn't think that was ENTIRELY fair but the experience did leave a poor taste in my mouth. I most likely won't be taking my dog back there but I did leave an extra star for those staff members that were sweet and kind to us. read more

So disappointed with this boarding facility!!! My dogs have been going here for many years. I usually only take them about once a year because I can't stand to leave them. You see, they are my babies. Last week they stayed for 4 days so we could go to a wedding out of state. Prior to their stay we stopped in to complete the paperwork so drop off would be simplified. On the paperwork I let them know that Barkley needs eye drops daily and Teddy needs to finish his antibiotics for his ear infection. I specifically asked if they would administer the meds and was told there would be no problem. Well, on Sunday when we picked up our babies I could clearly see Barkley had a very bad eye infection. I can't believe that his eye condition was not acknowledged by anyone. I asked about the medications. They brought out the medications from the office and right away I realized they had never been administered to our babies. The staff made a lot of excuses and blamed it on "someone that was being fired". Nobody took responsibility. We were very upset and told Becky the kennel manager that we would be back in the morning to speak with the owner regarding the negligence of the staff. Our paperwork clearly stated that medication was needed. I had attached notes to both medications with instructions. No staff member had signed off on the administration of the medicines. No report card regarding their stay was given to us. The cost was over $300 which we had paid before we saw our babies and realized the serious mistakes made by the staff and management. Thank goodness these were not life or death medications. We returned today and met with assistant manager Laura. The owner did not come out to speak with us. Laura was apologetic. FYI - Just know that there is a really big staff problem here. Managers are not supervising the employees. Serious mistakes are being made. Policies are not in place. Laura said the staff should be doing daily health checks but there were none for my babies. Medication was not given. A report card regarding their stay was not available. My dogs deserve better! Laura did refund our money and she did apologize. We do appreciate that. I would really be uncomfortable taking my babies here in the future. If you use this facility question everything. Ask specifically about their policies and procedures. They really need to step up their professionalism! On the way out I asked again for the report card about my dogs stay and Becky had no idea where it could be and she said she would email it to me. I received nothing. See photos provided. We signed up my 3 month old puppy Milo for training sessions which after only two are EXTREMELY HELPFUL (thank you Bethany!). I liked the facility so a couple days later we decided to board him since he's a huge ball of energy and mom needs her beauty sleep! I was so pleased with the staff. When I picked him up they all knew his name and told me he was wonderful. I had a nice little 'report card' which really told me they took the time to know him and made it a very pleasant experience for Milo and I. Now we are home and he's sleeping like a baby..success!! We have been customers of Crossroads for quite some time, but hadn't been since the pandemic started. We took our lab in yesterday for daycare to get her used to going again. She was so excited when we got there! She was ecstatic! Lexi helped me at the desk and got us updated with the health and emergency info. She also explained the new protocol concerning drop off and pick up for our pup. She was kind and efficient, to say the least. When we picked up our pup, she was happy and also tired from playing with friends. They always let you know who she has played with during her stay. Their price is extremely expensive and not reasonable, and policy is so strict and ridiculous , I just wanted to have my dog stay there for couple days due to the construction on my house, but they required the test before sending my dog and it costs around $100, and then they charged $80-85 per day depending on the dog is easy to get along with other dogs or not, I really can't afford it even though they are located crossed street. read more

We just had our evaluation for fear/aggression and already I have much more hope for our rescue dog. The owner got her to stop snapping and snarling at him in a about a minute. She behaved and didn't seem afraid the rest of the visit. I was amazed and signed up immediately. I will update after our upcoming lessons but I'm feeling very positive already. The rest of the staff was very friendly and I could tell they were knowledgeable even with my jumpy dog. I also really appreciated that they had different options for me instead of just one (usually expensive) option of a large upfront payment. read more

Today is Thursday and I am supposed to drop off my 2 dogs at 7 am for their day care and train program. Then I was told I couldn't because they don't have my dogs' vet records. But Nikkie, the office manager, told me she would contact the vet after our conversation ended on Monday. Then her email said a proof of current records is required. The girl at the reception desk told me no vet was ever contacted. I am hoping next time they would just verbally mentioned to bring the vet records, so it won't get confusing. I went to Crossroads before for my husky's board and train. They do have good trainers and saw improvement of my husky. So I want to give another try with my other dogs. 4 stars for the trainer who trained my husky. read more

I don't know where to begin with this place, I wish I could leave no stars actually. So many red flags , sadly I have to leave a honest review about my experience with Crossroads Pet Resort. When I first started boarding with this place back in 2015, I thought it was somewhat decent. I have a dog that is fearful of new people and dogs so it takes her time to adjust. When we first started here, I felt like they did an okay job with their training with my dog but it was overpriced with such little progress in a long time frame. I have used this company from 2015-2019 and over the years have been extremely disappointing on how disorganized and unprofessional they were. I regret coming here. Every time I contacted the place to make a training/boarding reservation- my reservation was either never set into their system or mainly I will receive a totally different fee cost each time I called the office. "Supposedly they increased their boarding and training fees up to 70% more" for me, which never made sense! They will take your money, make up fees, and not give you what you asked for. Long story short, they will overcharge you to do nothing with your dog. Your dog will remain locked up in their kennel entire stay and never leave. I have found a MUCH better company that specializes in training dogs and also does boarding/daycare of my dogs personality at a VERY decent price. My dog is much happier, trained well, is not locked up entire stay in her kennel, and basically this place has become her favorite place to go to! She is a completely changed dog in 2 months and has become friends with entire facility including dogs!!!! What does that tell you? Please do not bring your dog here!!!! Go invest your money somewhere elsewhere where you can get your moneys worth. Just helpful advice if you're considering bringing your dog here, especially if you have a dog that may be fearful of people or dogs. This is NOT the place to go! You'll thank me later read more

I won't bring my dog here again. First, this has nothing to do with the way they treated my dog - they were super sweet to him! But then again, I brought him in for his initial social evaluation, so I was there the entire time. The front area looked clean and everyone was friendly. When I toured the facility, I was a little concerned by the way they were handling the loud/talkative dogs. There was a husky who wouldn't stop barking and one of the caretakers yelled over "SHUT UP!" to him and everyone laughed. My Jack Russell is pretty talkative, so that wasn't nice for me to see. I get that pups get super excited sometimes, but at least wait until a potential client is out of earshot before you yell at a dog. Just my two cents. I still gave the facility a chance. It wasn't a deal breaker. The deal breakers for me - 1) The area that that my dog would be playing in and the crate area was super dirty and smelled bad (poop and pee everywhere) and there were a bunch of dogs in a small play area playing in and around the mess. They also looked cooped up and uncomfortable. 2) The two girls who took me on the tour were bickering the entire time. The one girl must have been training the other and she was barking orders at her (pardon the pun ) the entire time - "always walk behind the client", "get out of the way", "you don't need to chime in when I'm explaining things to the client". It was very uncomfortable. After being in the middle of that situation and seeing where my dog would stay and play, I wanted to get out of there ASAP. I'm not sure if the person who took me on the tour was having a bad day or irritated at something completely unrelated, but there is a way to conduct yourself around a potential client leaving their BABY there and that wasn't the way. Same thing for the caretaker who yelled at the dog. Maybe I just showed up on a bad day. I AM happy that they did a social evaluation and I was able to tour the facility beforehand (which I highly recommend to anyone who's leaving their fur baby for the day/weekend), but I will not be coming back here again. I have since found a great pet hotel near Garden Grove. read more

We left our two dogs here on Friday and Saturday because we were getting married...When we picked up our dogs our basset hound was fine but our terrier had bright red paws that were peeling, clearly from being left outside on hot cement. THIS IS NOT OKAY. And when I called, the lady who answered the phone was unapologetic and said the dogs were only on the cement for a couple minutes. A couple minutes doesn't cause blisters and redness. Our poor dog hasn't stopped licking his paws since we got home. Don't leave your dogs here. Please. My dogs are like my kids and I hate that he's in pain. read more

I found Crossroads because my rescue dog Stimpy (chihuahua mix), got banned from the Petsmart doggy daycare on day 1 because he was too 'aggressive' towards the girl at the front desk. So glad he got banned! That led us to the internet and found Crossroads, which specialize in behavioral training! Stimpy started by doing daycare plus training a few days a week. Very quickly, the staff got Stimpy totally acclimated to them and he's been going there for about a year and a half! Don't ask me how they do it, I don't know...magic?) Stimpy loves me, but has been known to bite strangers (like, a lot). But at crossroads, Stimpy loves the staff. I'm always shocked when he pulls me to greet them and lets them pick him up and then gives them kisses on their faces. If you knew Stimpy, you'd know this is quite an accomplishment! He even lets the guys pick him up (and normally he has guy-issues). Stimpy now goes to Crossroads about once a week, but I can tell he looks forward to going. I've never had Stimpy groomed there, but he has gotten his nails trimmed and I was very satisfied with the job. Also, the front desk staff are very quick to take your dog in the morning and get your dog from the back when you pick them up! read more

Are you a bad dog? Let your owners take you here for some training. They even have day care and boarding. They have great group classes, using positive training, of course. Make sure you have all your shots up to date... anytime you come to a boarding facility you want yo make sure you are updated (every 6 months) for bordatella. They used to have a very large outdoor run for dogs, but things may have changed so call to check 'em out. The owner, Dan Tambourine, has been using positive reinforcement for quite some time and uses up to date training methods. I don't come here often because it is quite a trek for me being that I am in L.A., but I recommend it for all ya O.C.-ers out there. read more

BOARDING REVIEW! I took my puppy here for her first boarding experience when she just turned 1 last year. I was a little worried because I did indicate she was quite hyper and aggressive if taunted (a problem I had with her previous groomer). I had her stay for two nights in their "Executive Suite" one weekend, and at pick-up, I was surprised she had her own cute report card! Crossroads said my pup was a sweetheart and was playful with other dogs, which was great for me to hear. Their prices were just a bit high, but I'm sure I'm also paying the care and quality of my dog. Everyone was also quite friendly and you could tell they love what they are doing. Since things did not work out with my dog's groomers (loved the place, but ultimately they couldn't handle her because of her hyper state), I am also considering trying to get her groomed at Crossroads.
