I had a horribly negative experience with grooming. I brought in my dog who had previously had her nails cut at another Petsmart in the San Diego area. It was her first time getting her nails trimmed and they did very well with her there. When I brought her here, they brought her into a grooming room. I heard my dog yelp, so I knew something was wrong. I heard the groomer walk out and ask for a paper towel. By this, I already knew the groomer had cut her nails too short and hurt my dog, which I warned the store about three times. Eventually, the groomer came out to tell me she couldn't cut her nails because she tried to bite and thrash around. The groomer said that maybe her other experience was too traumatic and caused this behavior. She suggested that I should take her to a vet to sedate her during grooming for the next 1-2 years instead. I 100% admit my dog isn't perfect, but when I saw her 2 oddly short nails, I knew the groomer had caused her to react this way. I honestly believe she was careless and not too compassionate toward dogs who are shy about grooming. I'm sorry, but I will NEVER return to this location. If I could give 0 stars, I would. read more

I took my dog into this location to get the bath and brush service. This also includes a nail trim, feet and pad trim, ear cleaning, anal glands and sanitary area trim. He came out looking FABULOUS!! My dog is a shedder and I could tell Melissa, his groomer spent a long time brushing him out to get all his extra hair out. And his feet look the best I've seen! I usually go to the sunrise location and have been very happy with them, but they were booked. I was a little hesitant to go here because when they first opened I went and the person who checked me in made me upset by changing the type of dog in the computer and it costing more than what I had been paying the previous 9 yrs at the other location. But that wasn't the case this time and infact this location is actually a little cheaper than the other one. This time I was truly wowed! Or should I say bow wowed! This is the worst pet smart I have ever seen. I placed an order for 1 kind of canned dog food online. I picked it up but failed to check every can and see if it was what I ordered. I pulled it out to use the next day and 75% of the order is wrong. As you can imagine, I was not a happy camper. I called the store and the first words out of the manager's mouth is that she wasn't working that day. I explain the issue and that I would like the food ready to pick up again in the afternoon. I gave her the name of the food and the item number. I go to pick it up and once again it's the wrong dog food. She tells me that it's the item number I gave her. I said the website must be wrong then and she informs me that that's not her fault. We get back to the shelf and the item number I gave her was correct. They had stocked the shelves incorrectly and neither she nor her staff could be bothered to actually look at what they picked up to confirm that the item did match the tag. I told her that was her fault. Two trips to the store and they can't even handle canned dog food. Found it on Amazon for the same price and Amazon actually sends you what you order. read more

Worst experience I ever had. Was there in person scheduling appointment for my puppy. (Their manager was the one scheduling appt.) provided all required information, including the fact that my puppy is about 4 months and not yet vaccinated but had an appointment scheduled that month. Per their manager they will allow trimming without vaccination up to 5 months. So no worries, she said. We set an appointment the following day with Lorraine. She did call me to confirm appointment and discussed the process. Upon my arrival she asked me for vaccination papers and I informed her of the conversation I had with her manager and of what I was told the day before. She was very rude and unprofessional. Stated that there is no way she would have said that and even if she did, she still wouldn't get us in do to their policy. I explained that I don't know puppies exact age and birth and asked to see their manager. After which she stated that her manager have left the building ( at 2 pm on Friday ) and rudely declined to get us in! Will never go back to this place and do not recommend anyone to go there! I ended up going to Petsmart on watt ave and Arden, got greAt service and care by the girl named Infinity. read more

The store hours for this store, according to the official Petsmart website, are listed as open until 8:00 PM on Sundays. However, I went there at 7:00 PM on Sunday night and they were closed. The sign on the door said they close at 6:00 PM on Sundays. However, every online source stated they close at 8:00 PM. I would not have gone out of my way to drive there if I had known they were closed. I certainly will not be coming back. read more

I have been taking my 5 year old dog to Petsmart to get groomed since he was 6 months old, but this is the first time I have been to this one. They have all his information on file, but when I brought him in, I just reiterated the fact that he is a little difficult to groom and that is why I don't do it myself. I dropped him off (normally it takes about 2-3 hours to finish grooming him) and I received a call a half hour later saying that I needed to come pick him up. The groomer told me that she didn't bathe him or finish shaving him because it looked like it was bothering him and he was struggling. I was confused because the Petsmart I normally go to (on Watt in Arden Arcade) bathe him first, then cut his hair. I went to go pick him up and almost cried, he looked so awful. She had clipped his nails, but he was still filthy and smelled and his hair was only half way shaved. She told me that if I wanted to get the snarls out of his eyes, I would have to go to the vet and have him sedated. The other Petsmart has never ever had an issue with getting him clean and shaved. I will not be returning to this one anytime soon!! They didn't make me pay for it, but I wouldn't have anyways. I went home and gave him a bath and tried to cut the fur on the other side of his face as even as I could with normal kitchen scissors. He didn't struggle at all and just sat there, leading me to believe that it was the groomer at the Madison Petsmart that made him feel scared and uncomfortable. I called our normal Petsmart and made him a new appointment. Even though it is a further drive, at least I know that they will finish the job. Worst service ever!!! read more
