All the instructors and assistants are fantastic! Supernova has a gorgeous facility and all instruction is based on positive reinforcement and helping your dog to make good choices. They do an excellent job explaining what each baby step is meant to solidify--so that you as a human aren't tempted to skip a step and then wonder why your dog hasn't consistently followed through with their obedience skills. Classes are usually small (and/or have assistants to help) so that your dog gets 1-on-1 time to help with any issues you're working through. While training and practice is a lifetime thing, we have noticed impressive success with Midas' training and get compliments on his behavior considering his young age. I made arrangements for classes, before Abby had been with us for a full day. Unfortunately due to some unforeseen circumstances, we couldn't attend the classes as we had originally planned. Instead I talked with Karen and we were able to have her come to our house once a week to help us with training. We are on week 3 now and I have to say I notice a huge difference in Abby's behavior. Karen has taken the time to learn what we want out of our class and to educate us on what she expects from us. Her approach has made me more confident in how I deal with our puppy and also how confident Abby is with me. In 3 weeks(1 purely informational/introduction) we have learned the right way to get Abby's attention(look), sit, lay down and proper greeting of guests. She also answered what seems like a million questions I had about everything from walking on a leash, to house breaking and choosing the right type of food. In addition to classes, Karen also runs puppy playdates, barn hunts and other dog friendly events. Karen, in lack of a formal group for "class" visited our home for weekly training sessions. Abby has been very bright and responsive to her positive reinforcement training with Karen! In addition to our solo time with Karen, we have spent time adventuring to the formal training center for a barn hunt, joined a few friends for a puppy social and are looking forward to the possibility of beginning agility training soon! I must note in addition to her fabulous knowledge and skill set with all of the dogs she has interacted with, Karen did not hesitate to also help us through our first scary moment when the adults were away and the puppy broke in to her latched puppy tub, eating a great deal of food and becoming ill. Karen contacted a vet friend, worked with us and the vet through the process of elimination to determine the best next steps and offered to remain available by phone if Abby's health became even further concerning. Karen has an abundance of knowledge and understands owners and their furry friends will find their niche together, she just wants to provide tools to help make things more comfortable for everyone in the house. I look forward to continuing to work and play with Karen (sounds terrible but I'm going with it!), and will definitely always recommend her to friends, family and Yelpers!

We worried the situation would be too similar and make her panic, triggering her medical issues. The staff at Joyful Dog was patient, kind, and empathetic. It was clear from our thorough conversation before booking that our pup would be in great care. They were understanding of our anxiousness at drop off, and gave us so much info at pickup regarding how she did during her stay (including a very cute report card!) We were so happy with our test boarding at Joyful Dog and feel assured and far less stressed about her next boarding, which will be for a longer stay. They are clearly genuine dog lovers, and great at dealing with us anxious dog parents as well!

The third time we spoke to a new woman (on speakerphone) who told us the day, date & time of the class and she confirmed our enrollment. We showed up (15 minutes early per their request) and there was one older employee doing agility with her senior dog, she largely ignored us. Then another woman, also an employee, came in asking us what we were doing there. We said we were there for puppy class and wondered where the instructor (and other people/puppies) were. She said that the instructor's Poodle was having surgery that week so there's no way she would have been starting a new class that day. Ridiculous since both my husband and I clearly heard the date & time AND immediately we both set reminders on our phone. We really wanted to take our puppy here since they have a pretty nice looking agility course and their classes included an intro to it, but they're so disorganized. It is clear that the owner(s) and instructors don't communicate too often or too well. I have five friends who recently got puppies and asked me if this place was good and I told them to steer clear from it.

We have been coming here with our dogs for almost 10 years and I realized I have never reviewed it!…read more So after a recent get-away, I knew it was time to give them the props they deserve. This place is FANTASTIC for dogs in either Doggy Day Care or for Boarding cats and dogs. Our dogs have seemed to love being boarded here and the staff is SUPER! Very patient with questions knowing we are turning over our fur babies to them for days at a time. They have an active Facebook page and often post pics and videos of dogs in the kennel or day care so their owners know they are doing ok. You can also call them to inquire about your pet anytime! This place also trains police/Border Patrol K9 dogs, so you know they are great animal handlers. They get very busy during large holidays, so I recommend calling at least a month in advance if you need them for Thanksgiving/Christmas. They have a five day minimum stay at these times, too. Finally, when you pick up your pet, they give you a report card so you know how they did while you were away. So sweet! They are reasonably priced and I highly recommend them. Tip: schedule your animal to be groomed on the day of pickup so they are fresh and fluffy for you, often with a complimentary bandanna!
