My dogs leg

This place is horrible! My Groomer was 20 minutes late, which was very frustrating . As I was waiting, I saw one of the groomers in my opinion, mistreating a dog while she was cutting the dog hair! The dog started snarling at her because she kept grabbing his paws aggressively! Then, she was chastising the dog for not being still! In my opinion, she was too rough and mean to the dog! When I returned to pick up my dog, the woman gave me my receipt with no explanation. I paid the bill I came back and another woman was extremely rude. Everyone there was rude and had an attitude !! They gave me my dog. I gave a tip ( which I shouldn't have) to someone other rude women who wasn't my dog groomer . She takes the tip and didn't even say thank you! I find them to be so rude and disrespectful to humans and pets. I haven't been happy going here the past few times but it was very convenient. The last straw was the mistreatment of that dog . It was in plain view might I add! I can only imagine what is done in the back of the house. I will not be returning to have my dog groomed here because of the unprofessionalism, and in my opinion, the mistreatment of animals! They new staff , better training and supervision!!!!

this was my puppy second time at Pet Smart groomers on Atlantic Ave. the first time was okay, but the groomer seemed a bit annoyed when I got there at 3pm so this time I opted for an early morning appt. 9am. the Groomer Lexi G she was late but apologize, however we discussed my dogs grooming package and I left around 9:20am. although she was late he was finished on time, or probably before time. my dog was hairless except for his tail. she cut all of his hair completely off, and I'm pretty sure the clippers were hot on him because he has red marks and you can see where he was cut really close. i still tipped but I won't be returning. I don't like their service at pet smart will be trying Petco.

Groom For all the scary reviews for this location, I wanted to write an honest review about a good experience. A friend of ours with the same dog has been here three times and has not had any issues. After being told by other groomers that they were "too busy" to take my dog without a regular appointment, I decided to give them a try. I have a very curly Australian labradoodle, so matting is very common. I booked online with Lexi G and she was great. She listened to me, told me she wouldn't shave her and gave me actual peace of mind. She explained that there was matting in areas but that she would do her best to make sure to get the matts out but give her a full coat. I have been to other groomers in the area who have said that and continued to shave her despite telling me they wouldn't, I've also had groomers shout at me. We all know how this works; if you don't brush your dog regularly and they're a breed that matts, you shouldn't be surprised if they come back shaved. It's awful, but true and I know that when I go to groomers. But - this is the first time a groomer has worked with me. We identified the matts together, and Lexi was true to her word and understood my concerns, professional, explained everything to me and was done in three hours. I will definitely to be coming back here again - ask for Lexi G! I would get one of the earliest appointments so your pup is taken in first.

Service description

Grooming: I take my dog here to get groomed frequently because it is convenient and he goes to Banfield in the same PetSmart. I booked a "Bath & Brush" service in October. Then yesterday(December) I booked the same bath and brush service and both times, that is all he got. The bath service describes that it includes a nail trim, sanitary trim, feet trimmed, etc...(pic) Nothing. He literally only got a bath and brush. Both of these services were booked with the groomer Faith. Faith clearly doesn't care to do her job or is just lazy. The service is listed as $40, ends up being $45 when booked and then ~$48 after taxes. AND then a tip. The first bath service I included the CHI package which then came to about $70. He received nothing in the CHI package. And I know this because I add the CHI to his full haircuts. Very disappointing. I am wasting money here. I had a great "Bath & Full Haircut" experience with Suzanne(?) Last month(Nov), one of the only great experiences I've ever had here. I always ask that they do not shave him down and they ALWAYS do. She is the only person who listened to what I'd like for my pet. While Suzanne gave me some hope, there have been too many poor experiences that outweigh the good. I am going to find a smaller groomer to visit who will actually pay attention to the service they are providing.

We're also learning so much as new puppy parents since Angela takes the time to explain what she's doing and how we can continue practicing on our own. We live in NYC, and she's been a huge help in getting us and Rambo comfortable with city life before he's fully vaccinated. Angela is extremely knowledgeable, communicative, and always on time. She's also there for us whenever we have questions outside of our sessions, which we really appreciate. She customizes her approach to Rambo's personality and our lifestyle instead of using a one size fits all method. Angela is a pleasure to work with, and we look forward to continuing our training journey with her. We can't recommend her enough!

I spent 1.5 hours in the pouring rain w Anthony as we walked Benny into the field, where he was off-leash and learning how to follow, and also enjoying his time socializing with dogs. Anthony impressed upon me how important social play is for dogs to PURGE THE ENERGY out. Not going to lie, i LOVE to walk with dogs, and sitting around while THEY play was not my thing. LOL. WORLD OF A DIFFERENCE it has made. Benny is a great walker now (not pulling 90% of the time). He knows how to act when other dogs walk by us as he is rewarded to meet them after behaving! He's doing so well. Still a little touchy on the running toddlers and guarding, but I am confident we'll get there thanks for Anthony's guidance! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM, especially for new pups and rescue dogs!

When he was approached by new people he would aggressively bark and growl. I had worked with another dog trainer for over a year -- his problems just became worse. I became reluctant to do things with Gus because I was fearful he would growl/bark/act inappropriately when meeting new people. I was at my wits end and I consulted with a well respected training program here in NYC that said he was a "moderate to severe case" and would need multiple weeks of boarding training + years of follow up training to address his issues. Anthony solved Gus's problems in 1 session. Yes, 1 session... Within seconds of meeting him, Anthony just "got" Gus. His advice and feedback was completely different from the feedback I got from the other trainers and Gus responded immediately. I am not exaggerating when I say that Gus has not growled or barked at a single stranger since working with Anthony. I have been able to do so much with Gus and he seems so much calmer, happier and more confident than he was before. I only wish I had reached out to Anthony a year and a half ago. TL;DR- Don't waste your time or money with other trainers. Call Anthony today. You will be glad you did.

If you have dog problems - Twahlee is your guy! I was at my…read morewits end with my adopted chow chow, Taz. He was friendly to everyone when we first brought him home, but within a month or so he became aggressive and bit 8 people without being provoked. I hired 2 different trainers, both of which were bitten by Taz and recommended getting a sedative/relaxant prescription from the vet in order to train him. I couldn't get his attention and he was all over the place on walks, doing whatever he pleased. I was distressed at the thought of not being able to train him and having to send him back to the shelter. Then we started working with Twahlee and we finally saw changes in Taz's behavior. He is a great teacher, very patient and breaks down all the intricacies of dog training into small and manageable steps for the everyday person. Anytime we had a new issue, he always was able to give us a reason why it was happening and specific steps we could take to fix it. He has a great understanding of behavioral problems with dogs and a good system to change and manage those problems. I'm proud to say after a year and 10 classes training with Twahlee, Taz is now a good little boy! He's able to be off leash in the park, he can walk near people and other dogs without reacting, and he has excellent obedience. The training really changed mine and Taz's life - it could have ended very differently for Taz if we didn't get help from Twahlee.

I bought a package for my then-11-yr-old Puli, who I'd recently brought to NY after spending the majority of her life living with my mom in Florida. My dog is quite anxious and barks a lot, and struggled with the transition from living with one person to 8 overnight. I sought Twahlee's help in correcting my dog's anxious tendencies because at this stage of her life, the proper training techniques Twahlee has to offer would have been extremely difficult to implement. He helped give me an array of tools to help teach my dog stronger obedience, which would then lead to greater control over my dog. About 2 years later, I moved into a new home with a housemate who has a dog that can be aggressive with other dogs. Because I hadn't used my entire package, I asked Twahlee if there was a chance he could come by and apply one of my pre-paid classes to visit our home and assess how the two dogs exist in the home. He let me know that packages expire after one year, but that he would come anyway, because ultimately he just wants to help others. This was highly generous of him to do, and I'm extremely grateful for his flexibility. At the end of the day, choosing to work with a trainer is less so to train your dog than to train yourself on how to better manage your pet, and Twahlee did a great educating me on areas I could be doing better. His help and kindness over the last few years has been greatly appreciated, and I can say with great confidence he can make a meaningful difference in every dog and trainer's life.
