This grooming salon is amazing! The staff is very friendly. Our 8 month old Cocker Spaniel is really pampered by Sarah. She's our favorite Groomer. We always request a short cut on her and not the typical cocker cut. Sarah suggested leaving her ears 'fluffy' and I couldn't have agreed more. The short cut really shows off her markings and she gets lots of compliments. If you are looking for a great Groomer we highly recommend Sarah. read more

Just moving to Arizona form New York and needed to get my poor dog a bath. After traveling 6 days and having severe allergies she needed it! I made an appointment last minute and was able to get her in right away with no problem! Ashley, the groomer, did an absolutely amazing job! She filed her nails and gave her a calming bath to help with her itching! Phoebe (my dog) came out in a cute little bandana and smelling great! Went to this PetSmart today to buy our dog prescription food, Royal Canin SO food. We were out in about and totally forgot our prescription card. I was only able to find can wet food, since there was not dry food. When I went up to the register to pay, I provided Sarah our phone number. I had informed her that I had forgotten our prescription card and they've sold me the food before without the card when I've forgotten it. She informed me that she would not allow me to purchase our dog's prescription food without our card. Their bandfield hospital was closed, since it was a Sunday. So I wasn't able to get a temporary card from them. After I explained to her that their store have previously sold me the food without the card, she used her "high power" title and said "well I'm the assistant manager here and I will not be selling you this food". I've have spent well over a couple of thousand dollars at their store on this expensive food and she wasn't able to sell me 12 cans of this food. I will no longer be spending money at any of their PetSmart locations in the future. read more

Next time i'll travel the extra distance to a different petsmart for a nail trim. Upon walking in the grooming area it didn't look sanitary. The employees behind the counter were all occupied with other dogs - that's fine. but watching a dog get yelled at to stop and being punished for yelping while getting his ears yanked by a brush should have been my first red flag. this is my second visit here and both time employees were not friendly and looked very irritable. why do this job if you are so unhappy! when my dog was called to get her nails trimmed she was put on the table and every time a nail was snipped she let out a cry. looking at her nail beds now some look untouched while others look like they are down to the vein. i will never step foot in this petsmart again!!! read more

I took my dog in to get his nails trimmed. The girls we're all super nice and friendly. When he was up to get them trimmed he was very anxious and it took two groomers to keep him calm and trim his nails. They were very patient and kind and kept calming him down. This is the WORST store EVER!!! There is not a negative rating available. The store is dirty. The pet plan is worthless at this location. You can never get an appointment. They over book appointments. The people at the front desk are rude. I love my pets and would never trust any of them for care for my pet. I have to go out of my way to another location because of this problem. Banfield should stop thinking of the money and give quality care to our pets. The scales are never cleaned after sick animals and urine have been on them. I can only imagine what goes on behind close doors. This has to stop! Petsmart Grooming department is the worst I have seen in customer relations in a long time. We dropped our dog off for a hair cut 3 hours later they started on him. He was just kept locked up in a cage for the first 3 hours. The groomers were not busy, they had plenty of time for texting on their cell phones and walking about the store. Also in this time the only groomed 2 other dogs. I will not bring my dog back here ever again. read more

I booked a grooming appointment for my dog Skylar for today at 10am. When I checked in they told me it would take 3-4 hours because the groomer had 2 other dogs to groom first. But I don't understand why those walk in dogs would be groomed before an appointment dog. I waited for more than 5 HOURS and I did not receive one phone call from them. So I called them to see what was taking so long and they told me that they couldn't finish the job past the legs because he started "attacking". My dog has never attacked anyone. And I asked why they didn't call and they told me that they did and they left a message. I was next to my phone the entire day. Then I went to get my dog and when they brought out my dog I was even more furious because they completely botched him! They also changed their story and told me that my dog was jumping into the clippers, trying to jump off the table, and moving around too much. However, like I told them, other groomers have been able to finish the job without any complaints. I noticed that they left some hanging fur on his stomach and I made them cut it off. One groomer had to hold him while another was cutting it. Then, I asked them why they couldn't just do what they just did (hold him) to finish the job and they told me that it was against policy. But they just did it in front of me? Also, I asked them if I could hold him while they evened everything out. And they gave me the same excuse. They also told me to take him to the Vet to get him sedated and groomed. My dog has never had any problems with getting groomed. This is ridiculous! read more

I took my golden retriever there last year for his first groom, he was 2 years old and we had adopted him about 8 months previous. I explained that he had not been groomed before and did not like being brushed and that he had not been crated before. They suggested we pay for an express groom because then they were not crated and they worked only on them until they were done. We did that. When we picked him up he looked good however the groomer that worked on him suggested that we not do the express groom next time because he just got so excited that he wore himself out. I just went in today to schedule him for his 2nd groom, the groomer who worked on him previously is the one who was scheduling him. She went to the manager ( I assume) to ask if we should do the express groom or not the manager came up and basically refused to take him. She said that they would take him but if he was of danger to her or himself they would have to stop. I told her that there is no way he would bite he is an extremely sweet dog. The groomer who worked on him before added that there is no way he would bite he was just upset and had a lot of energy. So the manager said if he was afraid of the dryer or wriggled too much she would have to stop and send him home (this would only be his 2nd groom, I would be afraid of the dryer if it had never been used on me before) So I said are you saying we should take him somewhere else? and she said yes, maybe to a vet so they can monitor him????????? Then I said I guess I should take him to petco and she said yes. I guess petsmart only takes dogs who doesn't move at all when they are gooming them. sorry, my dog has some life to him. read more

Thinking about bringing your pets in? RECONSIDER. The store is filthy and the employees are rude. I am mostly talking about the grooming department. There is sticky residue all around the floor which i assume to be urine. Dog and cat hair that looks not to have been swept up in 2 weeks. This PetSmart location generally does an ok job with nail grinding but there are times when they rush the job and I can barely tell the nails have been touched. For the $12-14 charge to do 5 minutes of work they should try harder. Today I took our mini dachshund in for a nail grind and was told by David they could not do it because her rabies vaccination had expired....3 days earlier. I told them my dog had been to the vet within 2 months and all vaccinations were current. They said they could not do it. In the past they had done it with no paperwork on file and if they were worried they 'might' put a muzzle on her during the grind. Anyway, I had to drive another 25 miles round-trip back home to get the vaccination paperwork that they had already been given last year and it clearly showed she was good until April of 2019. The incompetent employee who entered the date in their computer had used the LOT EXPIRATION DATE of the vaccine bottle. So after wasting 30 minutes of my time, driving an extra 25 miles and burning up $4 worth of gas for their mistake, what did they do for the paying customer? Nothing. Charged the full $14 for their 5 minute nail grind. Poor customer service and lack of appreciation for the people who keep their doors open. When you go to PetSmart and provide information they require, make them turn the computer screen around so you can verify everything they've entered. read more

This is the 2nd time I've brought my Yorkie here to get groomed. I've made the same mistake twice. The first time I brought him here, the snipped him between his paw causing him to limp and be in pain, and tried to charge me for the antibiotic to heal it. After speaking to the manager, they rectified the issue by covering the vet cost and the medication cost. I thought I'd give them another try seeing they are closest to my home and he was in need of a grooming. Now, I have a shaved yorkie, who is suddenly timid and withdrawn. Smh! I know he got his nails grinded, and his anal glands cleaned, but he has been hiding under the bed, wanting to be alone, and I have no idea what to do. read more

We just moved here from California and I needed to take our Husky in for some furminator grooming. This location is closest to us so we decided, let's give them a try. (Our Cali groomers are not a PetSmart or a chain store). They did a bad job!! My dog came out damp all over, he smelled like a wet dog and he was still shedding some hair! I told them he was still wet and they asked me "Would you like me to dry him off some more?" ....."Yes!" He looked ungroomed and I was very upset with one of the workers snarky attitude towards the situation. I called to set up an appointment to have my blind rescue dog groomed that I just rescued out of the county shelter and advised them that I literally just picked up and would like to get her groomed and told them specifically that she was just vaccinated (rabies). Her bordatella and 5-1 were done on intake 6/28/14. Oh sure no problem, bring her in at 2pm. I get down there and they won't take her, said their policy is 36 hours after their vaccinations. So I wasted my time going all the way over there to be turned away! They will never get my business and I will be sure to put my dissatisfaction on my rescue facebook page and my personal page! It was my first time taking my puppy there and she guided me to how the process will go and even told me she'd do a full cut if my puppy could handle it. My puppy loved her and was able to get a full cut. I will definitely be bringing my puppy back to her. I'm so happy that I found a groomer that is close to my house and has great service! Don't get me wrong...I love Petsmart for what it does for homeless animals and all, but our Petsmart here really let us down...they don't carry a special prescription diet food for our cat and made us have to drive to the uptown Petsmart to get it...they are working with us so that we don't have to again...but, shouldn't ALL Petsmarts carry exactly the same items so this doesn't happen? read more

I've never had issues here. I own a neo mastiff and a wolf hybrid both get taken care of by banner located inside here. Dr. Jackson is the best! Also my dogs were getting sick from science diet last year in February. We brought the already open bag of food explained the issue and they had no problem comping the money and helping us pick a different type of food for my pups. Uriel is one of the Managers there and he really knows his stuff super positive and helpful! Definitely recommend. read more

Hey MiMi I had the same experience. First off I have had several Pet Smart cut and grind my dogs nails with no issues, My dog is not aggrieve in any way and loves females. So to my surprise it shocked me when the called my phone to tell me my dog was to aggressive and bit them several times. They refused to do her nails. And was upset that I left the store for a little bit to go to the dollar store to pick up a few items for which I already told them I was going to step out and will be right back to check on her. She scolded me saying that she had to page me several times in the store. Well, you fricken moron did it break your butt to have to pick up a phone and dial the number I left you. Oh yeah, that's right you had a vicious dog attacking you and it put you out which I let me tell you when I went to pick her up she had the leash so tight around her neck my dog was hacking. You pissed me off Pet Smart. Maybe all this came about because one groomer was yanking at a dog and scolding a nervous dog as she groomed it. I replied before I dropped her off about who is going to groom my dog because I do not want that groomer that is being cruel to that dog over there. So I guess that may have brought on all this. I love dogs and cannot stand any being cruel to dogs so all I have to say is Pet smart you need to open your eyes and clean house on these entitled employees and get staff that work with animals better. I used Petsmart for the grooming services. I took my dog in there to get his claws cut. the lady from rude from the beginning. She asked if, for $2 more, if I wanted to get his claws sanded down also, for smoothness. I said yes and then left my little guy in there to get groomed. All she did was barely sand the tips down. Didn't cut anything off! So I paid $13 for my dog to basically have nothing done. read more

The Grooming Dept. is great! Especially my dog groomer Ariana. I take my Pomeranian to her every couple of weeks and she is bestfriends with my little Pomeranian. I feel super relaxed leaving her with Ariana because I know she will care and groom my dog like it was her own. Every time I go, Ariana gets better and better each time with her haircuts and she sends my updates as she is grooming her so I can check on her even when I'm at work or out running errands. I am a relatively new owner of a bearded dragon. I visited the store on Dysart and McDowell and was again disappointed. I went in at about 8:50 on Monday night and had a few questions about my bearded dragon that my son and I absolutely love. Not to familiar with brumation and was hoping to get a little info on what to do and get some crickets which they always seem to be out of. They were out again and most of the time half dead anyway. I asked a lady if she could help me and she stated she was in grooming and would find someone. I waited and nobody came . Most employees were more concerned about closing and the cashier just like last time I was there was in some kind of disagreement with a customer. A tall colored girl who told me last time that the amount of crickets marked on the bag could not possibly be right and had to go ask someone else. She is the rudest thing I've come across in a long time. I have alot of experience in customer service and this is was pathetic to say the least. I left with no answers and no crickets. It might seem petty, but for the employees to have not an ounce of concern or any customer service skills is beyond me. I know one measly person will not have an effect on this business but negative word of mouth travels alot further than positive. I will leave one star for the nice lady who walked me out the door without even a goodnight. read more

I have been using Petsmart and very happy with the service. I really like the idea that you can actually see how your dog is being treated. I took the time to stay and watch both dogs being groomed. Staff is trained. Phones are answered. They brush their teeth. I complete an evaluation after each appointment. At least Petsmart wants to know how they can improve their service.
