    Unfinished hair cut - didn't get to her face

    This is normally the location we take our dog to, and typically this salon would get 4 out of 5 stars. However because of the service we received today I will not be returning with my dog. I have a 9 month old Maltese (Snowball) that has been serviced at this salon since she was 3 months old. Typically Alex handles her groom. He's kind and caring and has always made us feel good about leaving our dog in his care. I had made an appointment earlier in the week with Tootie on Alex's off day but it had to be rescheduled. The manager explained that Tootie was no longer coming in that day and offered to reschedule it to Saturday when we could still have her as the groomer. I had observed and admired her work before so I had no concerns initially. Snowball had an appointment at 11am which we were on time for. Now Snowball is a small and shy dog and she's just starting to get used to a leash. During the intake we agreed on the #5 blade and I informed her that Snowball had been spayed a month earlier just so she was aware that area may be tender. At the end of the intake Tootie tried to get Snowball to walk towards the back and she wouldn't go because there was a large dog barking and she was afraid. Tootie commented that if Snowball would not walk across the threshold she couldn't service her. This should've been my first red flag to simply leave with my pet and return another day. Snowball has never been made to walk towards the back as usually we hand her over to Alex and leave. Against my gut instinct I coaxed Snowball toward the back and left her in Tootie's care. She said it would be a couple hours and she would give us a call. Fast forward to 1:30PM... I hadn't received a called but was in the area so I stopped by to get an update. Tootie was working with another pet and stated there was 1 other dog ahead of Snowball and it shouldn't be much longer. So we left....by 4PM I was in the area again. Still no phone call but I had decided that if Snowball wasn't finished that we would just take her home and try again another day. When we arrived another groomer by the name of Mo was working on Snowball. Immediately I was frustrated because we booked specifically with Tootie and had not been informed that someone other than her would be working with our pet; especially since the appointment had already been rescheduled so that we could specifically have her as the groomer. Her hair was cut much shorter than I thought it should've been. Mo confirmed that she was using the #5 blade. Irritated with my self for not taking the time to understand exactly how short that was I said ok. She went to the back to confirm with Tootie who could be heard in the front yelling "She said #5!" A short time later Mo called for the Manager, Josh, to come to the back to look at Snowball because she had cut her in the crevice of her hind leg and had to be taken over to the vet. Josh carried Snowball over to the vet, came back to check on her during the assessment and gave me update. Fortunately it wasn't a deep wound, but it will require us to apply ointment for the next 2 weeks. And she'll likely have to wear a cone to make sure it heals properly. Josh apologized and stated they would be covering the cost of care. What should've been a simple groom turned into a 5 hour ordeal that ended with an incomplete groom and an injured dog. What led to this 1 star review isn't that they were busy and couldn't service Snowball in a reasonable amount of time, or even that she was cut, I understand accidents happen...what led to this 1 star was the attitude of the grooming associates and the complete lack of care and concern for our pet from the person who's care we left her in. We won't be returning.

    I've been coming to this location for over a year & have always had great experiences. The employees are very friendly, helpful & always ready to play with my dog. My dog especially likes the treats at the checkout counter. Came to the store today for a haircut & pictures with Santa. It was easy to make a last minute appointment & the groomer did an excellent job. I have a cocker spaniel & it's pretty tough to cut his ears/face. My dog usually comes home after being groomed shaking his head nonstop because of hair and/or water that has gotten in there. But today his ears weren't bothering him!! Think we found our permanent grooming location!! And his haircut is super cute!! The pictures with Santa are adorable and they were...FREE. You seriously can't beat Petsmart's prices when they have sales!

    Her eye when we picked her up from grooming appt. No explanation or apology.

    Do NOT use this location for grooming services. We took our puppy to get groomed here and when we picked her up, her eye was completely bloodshot. The location didn't take any accountability, only repeatedly telling us that "she didn't like the dryer". I've showed the picture to our vet, as well as trainers and both have said this is clearly trauma.

    This is not my dog pictured but the same exact thing happened to my dog. I was terrified. Haven't gone back since. The lesson I learned is that you get what you pay for.

    Don't get me wrong deniero there is GREAT he's the only one who has took care of my dog since going starting in May. Deniero wasn't available so I agreed to someone else since it was suppose to be a trim. After this I will never return for grooming. I've been seeing more and more small black grooming business this was a sign to support. I took my dog in at 11 didn't pick him up til after 5. Before leaving I said I do NOT want my dog shaved (long hair shih tzu and he's only 8 months) Letting her know what deniero does. Just to pick up to see he was shaved and had big patches everywhere. His ear body and legs. If you know this breed they have full faces. Completely shaved uneven then shaved down his chest. Tried covering with a handkerchief. Feet completely shaved legs full and uneven. Its the worse ever he don't even look like his breed. If she didn't know how to cut his hair type she should have said that and I would've gladly waited. My dog was terrified when I picked him up. It's no telling how she was handling him because he's never been cut the way she did. Moral of the story! If you have someone you like for your furry baby stick with them because clearly somebody lying on they resume JADE. Then had the nerve to want me to pay for ruining him pleaseee

To keep my furby fresh and clean between visits I've decided to go to the self-service dog wash now owned and managed by Fur Side. Automated scheduling was easy as pie. Showed up for my appointment and Mary greeted me at the door in PPE. Raised tubs with sprayer mean you don't have to bend over to bath your pooch. There are plastic aprons to keep you dry as possible. The shampoo and conditioner is great and complimentary, along with ear wash. Although I bought my own brushes, there are brushes available for use. Bring your own towels now. It's a safety thing. All in all a great bath away from home. I'll end with this. My Beauregard was freaking out with the sound and feel of the high powered dryer. He dang near killed himself trying to get away from it and I was going to have to leave with a wet poodle. Mary showed absolute mercy and stepped in to help me. I'm not experienced in bathing Beauregard myself so I was not what he wanted or expected. Mary advised and showed me the best way to dry my pooch and make the experience enjoyable for both of us. She gave of her time and herself and we are eternally thankful. P.S. I already had a full service groom scheduled for a future date. This will be Beauregard's first visit to Fur Side.. I'm even happier about this now.

The big box grooming salon was fine before, but now not so much. They had my baby looking like a rat. Twice! It was terrible. Furside is just better! They gave Biggie aka Mr. Big the professional salon look. He looks, feels and smells wonderful! They paid attention to detail and his particular features and he looks, well, handsome lol. Daniel and staff were friendly and professional, too.

    Went down hill. I was a client for 3 years and had been mostly satisfied. Today, everything…read morechanged. There must have been some technology clitch and I never got the SMS saying my dog was ready. They finally called me to pick her up. Instead of believing me when I told them I hadnt gotten their texts (although I showed them my phone) they proceeded to charge me the penalty of a dollar for every minute past the grace period. I am not complaining about paying the penalty (I am fully aware it exists and understand why businesses need these policies). I am furious that they are unwilling to recognize there was a glitch and decided to not rely on my word, not trust the phone when I showed them I hadnt gotten their texts and disregards our history, and waive the penalty. An appt that usually costs around 80 plus tax and tip, today costs $194 without including tip!!!!!!! Here go the details if you are interested. When I dropped my dog off I was told I would be notified 30 min before she was ready and that it should take approximately 1 and a half hours to cut her hair. In the past I had shown up at the time I had been told when I dropped her off (although I hadnt gotten the text) and she hadnt been ready. Therefore I began to rely on the texts before going to pickup. Usually this was fine except for one occasion. I was told she would be ready around 4:30. Then I was texted that it was taking longer. We went back and forth and I finally decided to go and stand there at 7:30 pm and insisted on getting my dog. She was still wet. Although I never got an apology or a discount for the poor service, given the long relationship, I took my dog in today. Today I didnt het their texts. There must have been some sort of glitch. Given I wasnt responding to the texts they said they had sent me they finally called me 2.5 hours passed the time they told me she should be ready. I told them I hadnt gotten the text and they proceeded to tell me I should have shown up at the time they had given me upon drop off. Upon arrival I showed them I hadnt gotten their text. Then they told me I should have picked her up at the time I was given and shouldnt have waited for the text. I told them about my experiences in the past when I had shown up at the approximate times I was told, and the time I waited 4 hours and still got a wet dog. Anyways, my dog is fine, and has a great hair cut as always. When I get into the car, their texts started coming through. They told me they had charged my credit card 194 dollars. I was surprised that although I had shown them that I hadnt gottern their texts, they still charged me their penalty. No regard for hour history, and no recognizition of their previous mistakes that I had not complained about. They continue to fight with me over text. See pictures.

    Duchess (5 month old goldendoodle) saw Andrea for her first ever puppy groom. The process was…read moreseamless from beginning to end. I booked the appointment online and uploaded her vaccine records in the online portal. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a member of the staff who took me through some questions and advised me of the process from there. Upon this initial intake, Duchess was checked for matted hair, upon which time I was advised that my appointment would cost more ($15 per matted area I believe). I found this to be completely reasonable since this would require more of Andrea's time to complete the service. I was texted a photo of Duchess when she was almost ready for pick up and I proceeded on my way back down to the establishment (earlier than I anticipated). Upon arrival, Andrea came out to speak with me about how Duchess did (she did great!) and give some advice for maintaining her coat and the schedule we should maintain. Duchess was very clearly treated well during her visit and did not show any signs of discomfort or anxiety when I picked her up. I will say that Andrea's prices are not cheap, which I am ok with given the quality of service and level of care with my pup. We have already scheduled our next appointment and look forward to seeing Andrea again.
