I was quoted one price during my dog's assessment, but after the groom was finished, Victoria added a $20 charge due to unexpected matting. I understand issues can arise, but I should have been contacted before the price changed. I was expecting better communication. The situation worsened when I raised my concerns. Victoria became argumentative, and the manager did nothing to step in, apologize, or address the issue. She just watched while the groomer raised her voice at me. I was also unhappy with the quality of the groom. It look like she did nothing I asked. Overall, I left feeling unheard and disappointed. No real help given. Julian (an associate) and Natalie (a lead) were both more unhelpful than words or time permits. I went in looking for a previous purchase of dog food that worked really well but couldn't remember the name of it. I only knew the outcome -sensitive skin and stomach which I said repeatedly. I remembered the color of the bag and the maker. Natalie didn't offer to help me look, didn't ask any symptoms, didn't do one thing except for give me her corporate number when I finally asked for it - due to her lack of helpfulness in finding a product. When it was time to pay, the PetSmart app didn't operate so I could activate my Treats. The associate (Melanie), called Natalie who refused to come so she called Julian. He was the worst. NO HELP AT ALL! He told me to call corporate and barely looked at the error message. Before I left, I noticed the two of them Julian and Natalie gossiping and called them out. This is normally the location we take our dog to, and typically this salon would get 4 out of 5 stars. However because of the service we received today I will not be returning with my dog. I have a 9 month old Maltese (Snowball) that has been serviced at this salon since she was 3 months old. Typically Alex handles her groom. He's kind and caring and has always made us feel good about leaving our dog in his care. I had made an appointment earlier in the week with Tootie on Alex's off day but it had to be rescheduled. The manager explained that Tootie was no longer coming in that day and offered to reschedule it to Saturday when we could still have her as the groomer. I had observed and admired her work before so I had no concerns initially. Snowball had an appointment at 11am which we were on time for. Now Snowball is a small and shy dog and she's just starting to get used to a leash. During the intake we agreed on the #5 blade and I informed her that Snowball had been spayed a month earlier just so she was aware that area may be tender. At the end of the intake Tootie tried to get Snowball to walk towards the back and she wouldn't go because there was a large dog barking and she was afraid. Tootie commented that if Snowball would not walk across the threshold she couldn't service her. This should've been my first red flag to simply leave with my pet and return another day. Snowball has never been made to walk towards the back as usually we hand her over to Alex and leave. Against my gut instinct I coaxed Snowball toward the back and left her in Tootie's care. She said it would be a couple hours and she would give us a call. Fast forward to 1:30PM... I hadn't received a called but was in the area so I stopped by to get an update. Tootie was working with another pet and stated there was 1 other dog ahead of Snowball and it shouldn't be much longer. So we left....by 4PM I was in the area again. Still no phone call but I had decided that if Snowball wasn't finished that we would just take her home and try again another day. When we arrived another groomer by the name of Mo was working on Snowball. Immediately I was frustrated because we booked specifically with Tootie and had not been informed that someone other than her would be working with our pet; especially since the appointment had already been rescheduled so that we could specifically have her as the groomer. Her hair was cut much shorter than I thought it should've been. Mo confirmed that she was using the #5 blade. Irritated with my self for not taking the time to understand exactly how short that was I said ok. She went to the back to confirm with Tootie who could be heard in the front yelling "She said #5!" A short time later Mo called for the Manager, Josh, to come to the back to look at Snowball because she had cut her in the crevice of her hind leg and had to be taken over to the vet. Josh carried Snowball over to the vet, came back to check on her during the assessment and gave me update. Fortunately it wasn't a deep wound, but it will require us to apply ointment for the next 2 weeks. And she'll likely have to wear a cone to make sure it heals properly. Josh apologized and stated they would be covering the cost of care. What should've been a simple groom turned into a 5 hour ordeal that ended with an incomplete groom and an injured dog. What led to this 1 star review isn't that they were busy and couldn't service Snowball in a reasonable amount of time, or even that she was cut, I understand accidents happen...what led to this 1 star was the attitude of the grooming associates and the complete lack of care and concern for our pet from the person who's care we left her in. I've been coming to this location for over a year & have always had great experiences. The employees are very friendly, helpful & always ready to play with my dog. My dog especially likes the treats at the checkout counter. Came to the store today for a haircut & pictures with Santa. It was easy to make a last minute appointment & the groomer did an excellent job. I have a cocker spaniel & it's pretty tough to cut his ears/face. My dog usually comes home after being groomed shaking his head nonstop because of hair and/or water that has gotten in there. But today his ears weren't bothering him!! Think we found our permanent grooming location!! And his haircut is super cute!! The pictures with Santa are adorable and they were...FREE. I went to this PetSmart on a Saturday and was pleasantly surprised. The parking lot was packed but I was able to get a spot out front with minimal effort. I was greeted upon entering and asked if I needed help. I politely declined, grabbed a cart and began shopping. It's smaller than some other locations but I was able to find what I needed easily and threw in extras just because I saw them (don't we all). I took advantage of one of their 2/$20 Iams wet cat food deal which is a great price as Kroger charges $12.49 for the same pack. Overall they have a much better variety than grocery stores or Walmart/Target and the prices are fair. This store is clean and it was a pleasant shopping experience. I will return! read more

Do NOT use this location for grooming services. We took our puppy to get groomed here and when we picked her up, her eye was completely bloodshot. The location didn't take any accountability, only repeatedly telling us that "she didn't like the dryer". This is for the cat groomer not the store. The store is great and have everything you would need for you pets. HOWEVER the cat groomer Ashton DO NOT let him handle your pet. I took my cat to him to apply the soft paws on her and was just an A hole. First of all he was 30 mins late for work and didn't call to let his co worker know that he was gonna be late. When he arrived he showed up with McDonalds in his hand and didn't even apologize to the people the at were eating doe him. By the way he have 3 people 8am appointments. When he took my cat from me he dumped her out of the carrier instead of unzipping the top and taking her out like a civilized person would have. His who demeanor was awful. I'm considering calling the corporate office about him. My suggestion would to find another location with a vat groomer who has more experience with handling animals and a better attitude. Deniero wasn't available so I agreed to someone else since it was suppose to be a trim. After this I will never return for grooming. I've been seeing more and more small black grooming business this was a sign to support. I took my dog in at 11 didn't pick him up til after 5. Before leaving I said I do NOT want my dog shaved (long hair shih tzu and he's only 8 months) Letting her know what deniero does. Just to pick up to see he was shaved and had big patches everywhere. His ear body and legs. If you know this breed they have full faces. Completely shaved uneven then shaved down his chest. Tried covering with a handkerchief. Feet completely shaved legs full and uneven. Its the worse ever he don't even look like his breed. If she didn't know how to cut his hair type she should have said that and I would've gladly waited. My dog was terrified when I picked him up. It's no telling how she was handling him because he's never been cut the way she did. Moral of the story! I should probably give them a 1, but I'll give them a 2.5 because of their convenient location and satisfaction guarantee policy for grooming and dog classes. THE STORE: (3.5/5) The store itself is pretty good, average. It's kept clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. They carry all the usual stuff that petsmarts carry. All in all I'm satisfied, though I must say I haven't bought anything from here, my sister has though-- she buys her blue buffalo dog food here. THE GROOMING: (2/5) Petsmart has amazingly great prices on grooming. Unfortunately my dog came out looking less than so. I was very disappointed, the groomer made excuses about him not being dry-- which made his appearance look even worse. I hate to say it, but they did a much better at the PetSet. That said I think a different groomer at Petsmart might be good. I would recommend trying different groomers at Petsmart until you find one you like then only come back to that person. They have their general pricing listed on their website. "Puppy Bath, Brush & More + Trim" is only $15.99 you really can't beat that. $15.99 is very affordable, makes me want to take my guy in every week! lol. THE TRAINING: (1/5) I started class here, but didn't finish. My puppy is calm well-behaved, smart, and attentive-- eager to learn. He's even potty-trained. So all the rambunctious, loud way too over excited older puppies in the class were just too much. One of the dogs "playing" looked liked bullying, but the instructor laughed it off as did the owner. The loudest most out of control runs the class, meaning the instructor ends up focusing most on the ill behaved loud dog. (whose barks and loudness gave me anxiety, so I can only imagine how my dog felt) They should have classes by small breed and large breed, especially the puppy classes. While dogs should definitely be socialized with dogs of all sizes in general, when learning it's best for the dogs to be more similar. Small breeds and large breeds usually have different issues. And those issues and concerns can be better helped if the dogs were similar breed sizes. So... don't tell me my 4 month old toy breed has confident issues all because he wants to have nothing to do with the 6 month old large breed puppy. Not only is the other dog literally 7x his size, the other dog is roughly biting at him and every dog and barking loudly at everyone. Small and large breed training classes shouldn't be mixed until the adult classes or atleast the intermediate classes. The class is also not structured. It's very "free for all", meaning there's no clear organization to everything. We spent 35+ minutes on one thing that everybody did well within 15 minutes. They should give us a bang for out buck and maximize the time to not only help us, but to give us as many tips as possible. If there's extra time work with each dog individually for a set amount of time. Everything they teach is very basic. These classes are for certain types of people: 1.) people who have 9-5's and no time at all to train. 2.) people who have wild untamed dogs and need extra help with them 3.) combination of 1 and 2 These classes are not for people who work from home and have time to teach there dog. Or people who are internet savvy and atleast have weekends free. There are thousands of websites and youtube videos that give tips on how to train dog. Not to mention comcast on demand local has alot of free lessons. You can purchase books from ebay and amazon and read people's reviews. Point is, if you have time, then the classes won't be worth it. They are $109, each. (5-6 weeks) for an hour each. With $109 you can buy your own clicker, books, dog treats, etc with money to spare. And if anything, like if you have specific issues and problems you need help with I would do one private lesson class, probably not here but somewhere else. And if you're itching to socialize your dog then scheduled trips to the dog park would be more beneficial imho. So actually my average for this store is 2.3, which should be rounded down to a 2, but I'll round up for now and just see how things go... there satisfaction guarantee is the only thing that saves them. read more

This review applies specifically to the Banfield vet office located inside this Petsmart. I've known several people who have relied on Banfield in the past. Their reports on the level of service and quality of care are inconsistent. The quality of the vet varies by location, as you might expect. I'm happy to report that this is one of the better Banfields that I have encountered. This location offers good service, precise time estimates, and avoids unnecessary work. My girlfriend took her dog to Banfield for a full dental cleaning. He was anesthetized without any problem and his teeth look great. They did a good job with the cleaning and he showed no ill effects from the treatment. The veterinarian was an effective communicator through the whole process. The last time my girlfriend took her dog to a different Banfield location, they tried to up-sell her on numerous unnecessary tests and tried to take advantage of her concern for her dog. Thankfully, this location is free from these shenanigans and simply does their job without unnecessary theatrics. I would definitely recommend this Banfield if you want a quality experience and a good price. read more

I'm writing this review to warn others who might think to take their dogs here for grooming services. I took my pomeranian mix here to get a de-shedding treatment and some light grooming. When I dropped him off, I spoke with the man at the desk and told him that I DID NOT want him shaved. I asked for him to be lightly trimmed, mostly on his back legs. I warned the gentleman that shaving a pomeranian sometimes results in the fur not growing back properly. I was told I would receive a call when he was done. An hour and a half past the estimated end of his grooming, I arrived (without having been called) to find the groomer shaving a dog WHILE VIDEO CHATTING with someone. My dog had been shaved short all over, except for his head and tail, and shorter still around the site of his old surgery site (which had been slowly regrowing for months). I complained to the groomer, but he was unsympathetic and told me that he was following the instructions left to him by the gentleman I spoke to when I dropped my dog off. The woman at the check out counter was slightly more sympathetic, but NO ONE offered to make it right and only told me they hoped it would grow back correctly. $78 later and my dog looks terrible. I will not be going back, and I hope to save you and your dogs from the same experience. read more

I really like this location because it feels kind of hidden away? Anyways, I really wanted to get my dog a new collar so I went to the Petsmart closer on Peachtree, but it was pretty empty. Like it was a ghost town. I went there looking for a Martha Stewart collar because I'd seen her designs on my last visit and thought they were super cute. Unfortunately, they were pretty much sold out. So that one was a popular busy location right by the mall. Well, there's a pet store on every corner was my thinking as I just decided to make an adventure of it. I damn near went to every fucking pet store in a 5-10 mile radius trying to find a cute collar. I know. I don't know why I waste my time, but I really did go to different petsmarts and petcos and random pet stores just to compare contrast. So I went to this one and they had plenty of the Martha Stewart stuff! ON SALE! But plenty in stock and the more I walked around the store, the more stuff seemed to be on sale. Like Blue Buffalo was discounted! EVERYTHING WAS ON SALE! I even had a convo with the cashier who told me that they had a lot of accessories and stuff on sale constantly that werent at other stores. I also got Ella groomed here. She had only been groomed once before and it was a fidgety sweaty hour of trying to wrastle her ass, but I just dropped her off with Stephanie and she came out much cooler for summer a couple hours later! However, it was a bit pricey as I opted for an extra spa package, to have her nails grinded and teeth brushed something something. well fuck that. I don't know. Why is everything so damn expensive these days. Am I old or losing it but is stuff that cost $20 5 years ago now like $70!?! So yeah, besides that I had a good experience here. They are so nice and professional at this location. Compared to the camp creek location this is so much better. I drive an extra 25 minutes just to go to this location because camp creek is horrible. At this PetSmart They are helpful and knowledgeable about your pets needs. The staff at Banfield are wonderful too. They are so sweet and take good care of the pets. DR.WILLIAMS is the best doctor that Banfield has. Hes no longer in the Atlanta area but he is the sole reason I am at Eastgate Pet hospital. I followed him from camp creek when my first dog fell ill. He's excellent! I do miss him, but I guess ill stay around til I find a better vet. read more

My beta fish has not eaten his pellets in 2 days so I went into pet smart trying to find the best solution. Cody recommended flakes and also let me know he personally prefers the flakes for beta fish so I took his suggestion and bought the flakes. The customer service from these groomers is absolutely horrible. I took my 5 month old puppy there to get groomed and the groomer Jade was horrible. I dropped my puppy off at 9am and didn't hear anything back until I called there MYSELF 5 hours later. When i called they couldn't even locate my dog after i gave them her name 5 times, they needed my phone number to find her. When the groomer came to the phone her attitude was disgusting, sounding very short and agitated. She told me she couldn't do anything with my puppy because she was hyper but she "brushed her out" as I waited for over 5 hours. Granted, my puppy is hyper but she's a puppy and this is a grooming salon for puppies & dogs so you would think these people were trained for this and had some patience. I have a long haired dog and it's 100 degrees in atlanta, i stressed to them that even if they couldn't cut everything please cut a little because every time she used the bathroom her feces would get stuck and she would also get matted very easily and they cut nothing like assholes. When i went to pick up my puppy the groomer was very short again and looked like she didn't want to be there, this is not the first time i've noticed her demeanor when i've came into pet smart maybe she needs to find a new job. Once i felt on my puppy, i realized they lied and didn't even brush her out so she was still matted in the same places. This is a normal petsmart, but I took my precious little Zoe, to get her teeth cleaned (or what I thought was a teeth cleaning) and just pretty much gave them $10 for him to hold my dog for maybe 1 min. just enough time to take her in the back, pick up a lame doggy tooth brush and some meat flavored paste, and bring her right back. I've taken my dog to a PetSmart Grooming salon before in Augusta and didn't have any issues. Since my first experience went well, I decided to try the one on Howell Mill closest to my current residence. I asked for a normal grooming package (wash, nails cut and cut of hair around sanitation area and face). After picking Kobe up from his appointment, I noticed that his face was not cut evenly and that only the hair around his butt was cut (which was a botched job) and not the front. Now this morning, I'm noticing his butt area is red and looks inflamed. This unacceptable and I will not bring my dog back for half done service. read more

So, I signed my baby up with PetSmart's clinic in the back and they were on point. They are very professional and they treat the animals like they really sincerely care about them. That's important to me because my dog is not just a pet, she's my baby and I like for other people to treat her that way as well lol. Anyway, it's a really nice place. Yay, I am a fan of the employees of PetSmart and I really want the cats to be adopted. But.... one of the employees told me that when a bird in their cages (for sale) lays an egg, they have to destroy the egg. I am thinking it isn't a little birdie yet, it needs to be sat on, but, why sell birds that should be out flying out in the wild anyway. I am not a fan of selling wild animals. I think its kind of sad to take their eggs and destroy them. Also, it might lead to employees taking the eggs home and trying to do an experiment and try to figure out a way to make that egg hatch. I don't buy dog food at PetSmart and I'm not a fan of their grooming department, but I patronize them for other supplies because they don't support commercial breeding of dogs and cats and they do support shelters and rescues by hosting adoption events every weekend. The PetSmart nearest me is in a terrible shopping center that hasn't got a spot of grass or dirt in the parking lot for dogs to relieve themselves. I wish they would have a policy as an anchor tenant,to require a dog-walking area instead of unbroken concrete near their locations. It would be nice for humans too. I had my dog groomed today at Pets Mart on Howell Mill Rd. The groomers were fantastic and I had a great experience. However, the cashier was a different story. RUDE, RUDE, RUDE!!! She was more concerned with having a conversation with her co- workers than taking care of customers. One of my items did not have a bar code and she took her sweet old time conversing with her co workers that I had to take the item myself and get a similar one so that I could check out. Evidently this rubbed her the wrong way because she began to admonish me on my behavior. Come on, I'm old enough to be her grandmother.
