My corgi Gus has been part of the Bark & Board family since we moved to Atlanta 4 years ago. Gus is a "special needs" dog in that he's a rescue dog that's not fond of too many people or other pets. He's a loner until he decides he likes you, then you're in! Over the years, the B&B family have gotten to know him and they all have varying levels of comfort with him, Sophie being the stand out and could have easily replaced me as his mom! Despite Gus's lack of interest in most beings that aren't a tennis ball, everyone makes a concerted effort to get to know Gus and his quirks, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience! When there was an issue with another dog, not started by Gus, the B&B family immediately let me know and we solved the issue together, again with their team being absolute rockstars in care for Gus's small wounds before I could get back to him. I mention this story because there's always someone on a review site for doggy daycare and boarding with a bad experience who talks about it, but doesn't go into the detail of how the company made it right. Bark & Board have become trusted advisors and custodians to my dog for 4 years, and we cannot thank them enough for giving Gus a safe, loving, and comfortable experience for over 4 years, and will continue to do so and care for my little buddy. For anyone without a "special needs" dog, they will love your pet like their own and will get much more out of the themed days, photos & videos, "paw-gress" reports. But if your pet is a little more like Gus, rest assured, they will be in great hands! read more

Im sorry.. the people were nice enough but they did a complete hack job on my puppy. They had me pay the balance after deposit first before seeing him and...... wow.... I know why. It's horrible. I explained what I wanted.. the layers I loved about my puppy's coat the fluffiness... and it's like they just shaved him and gave him back... no blending, not even.. no shaping. I'm so sad... it's not even going to grow back nicely. They really messed up my dog's beautiful coat. I was in complete shock... and so flustered I just had to get out of there. But I should have stayed and expressed how horrible he looked. I'll call in the morning but... it was the worse. I'll let you be the judge. read more

My dog has been going here for 3 years. He comes home tired so I know he's had fun terrorizing all day lol. Never had any issues. Staff is very friendly. They remember his name each time and love offering him treats during pickup. I will say that the groomer wasn't the best but it is good to have one on site just in case. They also offer a quick wash for after daycare for a small fee. There's a freshening up station that's free to use to ensure your dog isn't smelly on the ride home. read more

Update to my previous review: Spoke with the "at the time" current GM Branden who assured me of their progress which worked out great for the last 3 months, he sat me down and apologized, was very kind and communication the steps taken to improve the matter at hand. Unfortunately now this location has decided to change GM's her name is Amanda and is the rudest person I've encountered in costumer service in all of Atlanta, it honest is that bad. This is the second encounter of rudeness , the first time I let slid but today is the end of me patronizing a business that does not respect their costumers . I was here dropping my dog off for grooming and apparently they are making corrections to their parking lot so there is a sign on the door to use the other door. As I walk up to read the sign, she rudely opens the door and tells me "if you read the sign, you'd know that you are at the wrong door" slams the door and proceeds to point at the sign from inside the door. AMANDA IS RUDE & DOES NOT BELONG IN COSTUMER SERVICE, LET ALONE THE GM! Why not kindly redirect me to the correct door, why do I feel profiled as she did not have this tone or disrespect with any of the other guest. I spend hundreds of dollars a week here because the previous GM was nice and regained my business. This is the final straw . read more

SO DISAPPOINTED. I dropped my dog off for a reservation for standard boarding at Bark and Board and they told me they didn't have my reservation. I was sure that I made this reservation because I had to send updated vaccine records, which they confirmed they had and loaded into the system. They were able to take her luckily, but I don't know what I would've done if they were full. When I picked her up on Sunday, she was SOAKING WET and smelled disgusting. Last time I boarded her here I had her groomed and they sliced her nose with the blow dryer and it took weeks to heal, so I didn't want to get her groomed there. Not only was she soaking wet and smelled bad, but there was a ton of food left over. I had perfectly portioned her meals for the weekend and told them the directions, so they either didn't listen/didn't feed her enough at each meal OR they forgot a meal altogether. read more

I boarded my dog Maybelle at the Westside location for 1 week, with a bath scheduled for the last day. When I picked her up, she had an eye infection, bloody scratches on her belly, bloody diarrhea for nearly 24 hours, and was covered head to toe in hives. As a result of the hives, she now has hair loss on both sides of her body. She was also completely off and not acting like herself for nearly a week after I picked her up. To their credit, when I emailed about this, the staff were initially responsive - but I was told I'd receive a phone call, and that never happened. I have boarded her 7-8 times at Bark Avenue, which is far less expensive and in the same general area, and I have NEVER had a single issue. Even with the inherent stress of boarding, she has always come home 100% fine and healthy, without any problems, infections, scratches, hives, etc. I have also boarded her at her vet, and again, have never once had a single issue. This was specific to Bark and Board. I am extremely upset about the care my dog received and will absolutely not be returning. This is not the kind of experience any dog owner wants for their pup when they entrust them to other people. read more

I am a first time dog owner and had an amazing first experience using the doggy daycare services at Bark and Board! A few weeks ago I had taken my dog to a different highly rated facility and was left really very disappointed with lack of communication and decided to try Bark and Board. I had two calls before dropping my dog off and the staff was very friendly and helpful, I really wanted to know my new dog's temperament and look into training options (she is a 75 lb rescue and a bit wild on the leash). They also reminded me that some of her vaccines were out of date which I *really* appreciated because the last facility we visited did not catch any of this (and neither did I or her vet that she saw just a month ago!). The last thing I want is my dog getting sick or getting other dogs sick and I'm surprised the last daycare even let me drop her off. Before even dropping her off my experience was already way better than the last daycare I tried and I felt confident that they were taking the time to make sure dogs were healthy before arriving. When I arrived for drop off (after she was vaccinated) they immediately knew my dog already by her picture and name and greeted us and asked lots of helpful questions about her history and personality. They were really kind and gave her lots of pets while we were doing intake. One of the main reasons I chose Bark and Board is because of their use of webcams which was so much fun to watch and made me feel at ease as a first time dog owner. The staff were cleaning up the facility throughout the day and were very watchful of the dogs interactions and took photos, played, and gave my dog a lot of attention which I greatly appreciated. Overall the space looked very clean and well-attended/monitored by multiple staff. I also was e-mailing their trainer who was really helpful and responsive and was able to meet him onsite when I picked her up to talk about a training program/promotion in his office which I really appreciated after getting extremely vague feedback and no follow up after a voicemail at the previous facility we tried. They also give you a goodie bag for your dog's first day which was a really cute/thoughtful gesture Also, there is plenty of parking which is hard to find in midtown, this is a huge plus for me especially with how crazy traffic and parking can be during rush hour. This place is okay...is anyplace really good enough for our fur babies? They have a private presidential suite that allows you to watch your pup after hours when the rest of the dogs are in their kennels. My dog wouldn't last in a kennel from crying so we went with the presidential suite and it worked. He got to play during the day because day care is included when you book a boarding stay...he got a bath before returning home. read more

B&B advertises that you can watch your dog through their camera system. However, that camera system has not worked in months despite their website continuing to promote the feature. Of course the cost of those cameras is most certainly passed on to the customer by way of the boarding fee. Additionally, the camera service provider requires you to pay a separate fee to access the system. When questioned about the lack of camera visibility, a B&B team member deflected blame on the camera service provider, despite B&B being the one who picked that provider. #NotGettingWhatYouPayFor read more

Loved being able to visit my dogs virtually though the video cameras systems. Really want the presidential suite so I can watch 24/7. The pets are absolutely pampered and loved. Thank you Bark and Board! Update: this week I dropped off my older dog and was a little concerned about her socializing with the other dogs in the yard. The staff paid special close attention and reported that my little Old lady pup loves playing in the yard with the other dogs. It's good to know that my dog is far more socialized than I knew. When she came home I've never seen her sink so deep into the carpet and her bed she was so tired from the long day of play. Happy dog. read more

Dangerous Daycare! If you would describe your dog as playful or energetic do not bring your dog here!!! TLDR: my "crazy" puppy was bit by another dog and the staff didn't care to tell me! I just finished a trial day with my 7 month old, barely 14lb puppy. He went through puppy class socialization and attends another daycare with no problems. However after a trial day here he was bitten by another dog on his ear. Not at all an emergency injury but still something that I should've been notified of and some kind of action should've been taken by the staff. I checked in on the cameras throughout the day and everything looked fine. He was out in the yard the whole time (except nap time). When I picked him up I was given a "report card" and told he had so much fun and was adorable. Nobody told me what happened. When I got home I noticed the dried blood so I called. I was told my puppy "was acting crazy so another dog probably did it". I can only assume she was referring to his energetic chase games and he was overwhelming another dog. If this was the case the "trained" staff should've separated the two for a break when they first noticed the dog was overwhelmed or moved them into entirely different play groups. From what I can tell they don't separate dogs into play groups. Which I think is the massive problem with this daycare and why I would never bring my dog to another place like it. I recommend you don't either!!! All they do is separate based on size but one small dog might like to run around and another might like to quietly sniff. Inevitably mixing these will cause problems which is exactly what happened with my puppy. (Unless the other dog was aggressive and not a good fit for daycare in which case I hope he was removed from the facility). The carelessness and lack of concern for my puppy's experience and injury is very upsetting. Know that if you bring your dog here so that they can exercise and have fun, they will get bit by dogs that have a more relaxed play style and that's 100% ok with the staff here. read more

I love Bark and Board! Been a customer the last three years after I rescued my dog. They know her by name and she loves them! She comes home pooped and I feel better knowing she got to play instead of waiting at home for me. I've been a long time customer of this location starting from the time they were part of the Barking Hound Village brand. It seems the owner Scott must no longer be at this location as I've tried to reach out to inform him of the poor customer service I've been experiencing. A previous reviewer mentioned the lack of return phone calls. This has also been the case for me starting this year (2019). My most recent (and final) experience, I called about 3-4 times a week for about 3 weeks to schedule a grooming appointment with no answers - I initially thought it was a phone malfunction or high volume of people coming through. Someone finally called me back to schedule my dog's grooming so I just kept assuming the lack of response was due to the store being busy. Went to drop my dog off around 10:30am the day of the appointment. I always ask for the earliest possible pick up time due to my dog's anxiety and on this day it wasn't particularly busy so the girl working the front said he'd be ready by 3pm. I also asked if someone could call me if he happened to get done any earlier so he wouldn't be anxious any longer than needed and so the other employees had one less pup to watch. She said she made a note to do so. This has always been my experience here previously. I happened to finish my meetings early so called around 2pm to see if I could start heading over. No answer. Waited a bit and call again. No answer. Assumed they were busy so went ahead to the location. Pulled up and no one else was there. I let the two girls up front know I was early but wanted to check if my dog was ready. He was and apparently had been ready for a while, but I shrugged off the non-phone call to me, again, as them being busy. They brought him out and he went straight for the front door. Noticed they did a patchy job in one area so he went back to get it touched up. Brought him back out and again he went straight for the door again. I thought he was just over being at the groomers so I paid, thanked the girls and left. The girls were so unenthusiastic in all of their interactions but, like everything else, I shrugged it off as them being overwhelmingly busy even though no one else was there. I'm leaving the store and my 18lbs dog is pulling like crazy which was odd. He immediately goes to the nearest bush and pees for what seemed like 30 seconds. The pee is yellow-orange. I was utterly shocked and wondered if they had given him any water or taken him out since the morning. I was about to walk inside to ask but I started to get the feeling everything about this experience was not right. I called them while I was still outside - three times over 10 minutes with no answer each time. I hear the phone and can see both girls sitting in the front clearly ignoring my calls. No other customers were in the store. I was absolutely fuming because I had been giving them the benefit of the doubt over and over again throughout my experience. I attempted to call again over the next few days to try to get in touch directly with whichever manager was running the business. No answer or response. So now I'm here to share my experience so you know what you're getting into. I gave Bark and Board the benefit of the doubt because any business is allowed to have a few bad days and negative experiences, especially when I've had a solid 8+ year track record. But when the negative track record is for three consecutive visits and the business does not answer or return calls to rectify customer concerns or issues, I'm attributing it to new management who don't quite uphold the values Scott and Stuart put into place when they founded this business back in 2010. read more

I am a prior longtime customer, who used to regularly board my dogs at Bark and Board Westside. NOT ANYMORE. I was and am still floored by the ridiculously unacceptable, unmet service/expectation and continued lack of response, related to a slew of issues regarding this recent stay. This place is NOT the same place Scott founded!!! My saga started last week when I placed THREE unreturned phone calls/messages attempting to: a) confirm mandatory shots needed to board, prior to our annual vet visit, and, b) schedule boarding for two dogs in the suites. After two days of unreturned messages, and the looming annual vet visit, I personally visited the location. The front desk attendants couldn't have been more disinterested. The surly Caucasian female said: "oh, you were on my list to call." List??? How many OTHER paying customers' needs were being ignored? Why had no one returned the call in the days before you made that list? And, based on claiming you heard my messages, why didn't you know what I wanted? Which info - what shots were needed, what dates to board, etc.? Ugh. So I booked the stay, I brought my dogs. I verbally respond to this same surly woman all the specific needs for my dogs. She is supposedly recording details in their admission paperwork. I had also typed in LARGE FONT the 3 requests for my pups: food/feeding, their need to be told/monitored to potty (they are "holders" of poop), and request to put their treats (a horn and a bone filled with cheesy bacon for each) in their beds in the suite. NOT THAT COMPLICATED. And yes, I asked for and paid for baths. Evidently, there was NO point in anyone taking any directives. At pick up, my male was wailing. A very nice gentleman was at the counter and let me make full payment. That same surly woman walked them out, managed to get them thoroughly twisted in their leashes, then disappeared. As soon as we got outside, male took a poop equivalent to two of his regular sized poops. Female pees a huge pee and poops. It's noon. It's obvious to me neither have properly relieved themselves today. I have the huge poop bagged to show the attendant and complain. Because I verbally asked to be sure they pottied, and wrote it out. He was apologetic. Put pups in car and look in their bag. NEITHER of their treats had been touched. They were still in the original baggie with "please put in their beds" written on the baggie... BIG AS DAY. So now I'm even more upset. They haven't pottied and they were deprived while I'm paying A LOT OF MONEY for them to be in suites where it MAKES SENSE TO HAVE CHEWS?! So I went back in to speak to the male attendant again. I show him these untouched items, and the note, and the message written on the baggie and ask how is this possible??? I watch other clients' dogs with their treats - this is a basic expectation! Then I go back farther and explain to him how exasperating this whole experience has been, from start to today. And explain prior to today, I used to bring my other pets here ALL the time - what has happened? Where is Scott? I told him I know it's not his fault, but this is ridiculous - my needs were not met, their needs were NOT MET. And I think some sort of refund is in order. He said he was writing it all down (on the typed note I had included) and would have a manager call me in the next 24 hours. Welllllll...I got the pups home, they both jumped out and both pooped, AGAIN! And I started playing with them, and there was something sticky and foul on one of their chests, in between front legs and about halfway down the torso. Either nastiness from play or that, plus unrinsed shampoo (remember: I paid for baths). I also realized after unpacking their bag that their pumpkin had not been packed and it and my spoon were missing. So I called, and remarkably that nice guy answered the phone (no message!). I told him this was even worse, the dogs had pooped again, it was obvious their needs weren't met, they were overfilled with poop, and told him about that nasty sticky crud on one of the pups, and the missing stuff. He again apologized and said he would have someone call "later today." He also explained "Scott has retired." OMG, what?! THAT CONVERSATION WAS TWO DAYS AGO! NO ONE HAS CALLED ME! NO ONE HAS OFFERED ANY EXPLANATION OR REFUND OR ANYTHING! Not sure who IS running this place now, but it's obviously NOT Scott; no way would any of this BS have transpired under his leadership. My one year terrier runs to the front door, is greeted enthusiastically by name by the receptionist team and jumps up up and down until he is taken back to the play areas. The interior is well ventilated, does not smell like a doggie day, a huge plus! All the dogs arriving and leaving are happy. Their camera system is great. I don't watch often because it's addictive but I'm always amazed at how involved and patient the handlers are with each group. My 1 yr old started here after much searching for the right situation. He is very active, social and enthusiastic. I like that he can find dogs to match his play style and tire him out without annoying older, calmer dogs. It's helped socialize him a lot! The play groups are a great match of personalities! I only wish they had twice as much space for the play areas but the dogs don't seem to care. read more

If you're looking for the perfect place for daycare and boarding, look no further! We moved to Atlanta just under a year ago and "vetted" a number of places. Upon our visit to Bark and Board, we met not only the owners but much of the staff as well. As the "neurotic" parents we are, they made us feel comfortable and secure in knowing our two would be well taken care of. We utilize their day camp several days a week and overnight boarding on occasion and take comfort in that we can leave town and know our pets are well cared for. Our dog Ollie has been going to bark and board since for many years. He has a great time, but I really appreciate the staff and owners. They are always happy to see us and love talking about how Ollie's day was. Also, if they have any concerns about his day, they let me know. They let the dogs take breaks and keep the play groups manageable so that they can oversee them safely. I enjoy watching him play on their multiple cameras from work during the day and their lobby has lots of great items at reasonable prices when I pick him up. We have only had Ollie groomed there a few times and its always been fine. He pretty low maintenance when it comes to baths. I recommend Bark and Board to everyone and love that many of Ollie's dog friends get to play with them there on a weekly basis. read more

After looking at the bad reviews it's obvious what's the problem they have gotten so busy & way too many dogs so it explains why they were putting one of my 3 dogs in kennel instead of allowing him to play in the yard as long but charging me for the whole day. if I had not been viewing the dogs on the doggie cam I wouldn't have never known. It saddens me to write this review because I thought I had a good relationship with the owner Scott but I see he is ok with you long as you don't have any concerns. I brought my concerns about my dog being put kept off the yard with the GM - Alex who was very rude a condescending in her tone . I ask if there was a problem she said my dog (puppy 1 yr 2months) has too much energy , well that's something that young puppies have is lots of energy hence that's why I had them in daycare.. My partner and I then went up there to take remove all 3 dogs at noon... When we got there I ask to speak with the manager Scott thats when Alex got very smug said she was the Manager .. My partner didn't like her nasty attitude because we have been spending a lot of money there with daycare & we stop buying our food from Chewys just to give business to an Atlanta local business....I can tell by the attitude I got from the Owner when I receive a call from him because of the fact of this GOOD ECONOMY & they have a lot of business they do NOT CARE about losing customers. It was Stewart who called me who was even more condescending he acted as if my concern was interrupting his day because he knew they were losing a customer but he could care less... I was spending over $400 with Daycare & buying my dogs food from this place which may not be much to the owners considering how dismissive he was to me when I addressed a concern. This is NOT the place to take YOUNG HIGH ENERGY DOGS because I was told by Stewart they like low energy dogs I said well you should put that in your advertisement as a prerequisite. I have been bringing my 3 dogs here for 6 months never been told that one of my dogs energy level was a problem, until I saw for the 2nd time on the doggie cam that one of my dogs was not on the yard just sitting in a kennel by himself.. All 3 of my dogs are less than 1 1/2 old but they have all been to obedience training class & are well socialized with other dogs. I was appalled at how dismissive & the negative treatment we were receiving because the staff has always been nice but I guess Alex was having a bad day it was a Friday, we were upset about the situation I ask to speak with the owner I believe that's what made her angry became even more rude to us. Finally when I received a call from Scott's husband which I think name is Stewart he was just as RUDE & DISMISSIVE as the GM so that explains why the management that way, it the culture of the place now. They have more dogs than they need in this booming economy that they do not care about losing customers. In closing IF YOU bring your dog or dogs here make sure you check the cameras make sure your dog is getting fair treatment, I should have know something was wrong when I saw on the news when a worker was kneeing a dog in the head at the Brookhaven location...If it wasn't for the owner watching the doggie cam she never would have saw the abuse. SO WATCH THE CAMERAS ..but my advice look around Atlanta they have lots of great boarding & daycare places , find a place where they can handle the volume of dogs not over crowded like this place who treat their loyal customers bad if you ever have a concern. I also feel the way they treated my partner and I was politically driven if you know what I mean. read more

I have taken my French Bulldog for boarding at this place a couple of times. The first couple of times he came home with flea bites all over him. Which is sorta normal considering he is around a lot of other dogs. However what isn't normal is the sores he gets on his feet from playing in their outdoor yard. The outdoor play area is covered with pea gravel and they say he gets the sores from play. I beg to differ. Pea gravel hurts my feet walking across it on a hot day. It burns my feet. So what is it doing to the dogs who are outside all day? I asked them to limit his outdoor play so he wouldn't get the sores and he still came home with sores on his feet. I will not be taking my dog back. I also want to point out that when I pick him up from his bath his ears are always dirty and they neglect to cut some of his nails. read more

Prior to boarding at Bark and Board, I was boarding my dog Simon at a vet, thinking that he would be well cared for because was around vets that would take care of him if something happened. However, after boarding him there for 4 days, he got an awful UTI probably from not being taken out much. So I went hunting for a better boarding facility. My dog is a rescue, so he's nervous and untrusting around people and doesn't get along well with other dogs. Every place I went to rejected us because of his behavioral problems. But then Bark and Board told me they could board him, even though he couldn't participate in group play. I was so happy that I finally found my boy a nicer place! They are very accommodating and understanding of Simon's behavior and his need to go potty more often, since he has urinary issues and is a senior. Every time I pick him up, he comes out so happy and excited and hasn't had any UTIs or issues afterwards. Now I feel confident that whenever I board him here he will be well taken care of! We LOVE Bark and Board. A lot of kennels we've found to be small and a little chaotic. Our dog gets super nervous, and doesn't mix well with around other dogs. The first thing we noticed is the location is very spacious. Dogs aren't cramped in tiny spaces. That means a lot to us. Ronnie and Scott have built a really great place, and they bend over backwards to help accommodate our nervous lab. Usually we're dropping off in a hurry on our way to, or from the airport, but the staff have always been exceedingly nice, and we trust them completely. read more

We were customers of B.B. for the past 9 months. Originally I wrote a 5 star review. We're sorry to report that our experience has changed. The staff is still a group of good people who care about their charges. The problem seems to be their success. The number of dogs in the yard has been growing. The time the dogs spend in the yard has been decreasing. As this has been changing, the price has gone up. Starting in April, the dog was wet and smelly with rancid dog pee repeatedly when I picked her up. This used to be on Fridays. My observation was that when they are checking in large amounts of dogs for weekend boarding, they didn't have time for the daycare dogs. Friday afternoons the exercise yard is empty starting mid-afternoon. My wife objects to dealing with a stinky dog all weekend. The pee smell days have become such that they occur more frequently and now occur randomly throughout the week. We boarded the dog for a week. We didn't want to deal with a stinky dog for the weekend after boarding, so we asked for and paid for a bath the afternoon we were to pick up the dog. Despite paying for it, the bath did not occur. After taking the dog in for a special visit to get the missing bath and disrupting our Saturday, the dog came home with yellow feet and a yellow spot on her forehead. Her head still smelled like pee. Take your dog there for the caring staff. Don't take your dog there if you want them to be clean when you pick them up. The staff is sad we are taking our business elsewhere. read more

I boarded my dog at Bark & Board Westside this past weekend Friday - Sunday.  When I picked him up I did notice 2 workers came out and showed him extra attention. It seemed weird but I did not think anything of it. It was not until I got home and was giving him a bath that I discovered he had multiple scratches and wounds on his underside. Some were crusted over like they were bleeding before and others were very dark raised red scrapes and a large dark red circle about which I was most concerned. I know my dog is a hard player and sometimes he does come home with a scratch or 2 but nothing like this EVER! They were also all on his underside by his back legs; looking as if they were likely from dogs mounting him. I am upset that no one told me when I picked him up and I did not find them until I came home.  I began a dialog by email but it was shifted to the phone by Bark & Board. I was in contact with both the store manager, Taylor, and the owner, Scott. Talking with Scott was very unpleasant he was was extremely defensive in our conversations and even accusatory. The first time we spoke he hung up on me. The second phone call he told me that I needed to get training for my dog. I find it funny that my dog went to their trial day and has stayed with Bark & Board a few times before and it is not until my dog got hurt and scratched up that he advised me to "get training." I did take strong offense to this so the second phone call ended. Scott also told me over the phone that my dog had been on "limited play." That was the first time I had heard that and they insisted this was not information that the owner needed to know. Scott tried to compared the situation and said "do we tell you when he eats or when he poops?" I responded no but if it is out of the ordinary then yes I would like to know. Bark & Board never once talked about my dog's hard playing or how he acted in the yards and they made me feel at fault because I never asked them.  What I got from his explanations is that you have to ask if anything went wrong with your dog rather than them telling you upfront.  I was offered a refund but did not accept. All I was hoping for was an explanation on how my dog got so scratched up while he was under their care, which I never received. :( I hope they will learn from this incident and will be more upfront with their dog owners on what goes on in their facilities. The staff were very friendly and I feel they took good care of my dog while she was being boarded. The place was also very clean and looked like it is well taken care of. My only complaint would be that my dog's paws were really scraped up from their gravel and you could tell they were hurting her by her constantly licking at them. I understand gravel is more sanitary, but it really tore up my dog's feet. In their defense, my dog is only 7 months old and hasn't built up tough pads, but it was sad to watch her be in pain. read more

Updated review! They have a new groomer, Brianna, who is amazing. Both my babies got a great Scottie cut..my little girl is hard to groom because the noises scare her but she did great. read more

They take the time to treat every dog in their own special way! They know every pets name and use it as soon as we enter the door, which eases our nerves when leaving our puppy at daycare or boarding. He gets tons of attention from staff and lots of playtime. They also do great grooming! read more

Bark and Board took my dogs in when we were evacuated for Hurricane Florence. Their rates were reasonable, comparable to many others. And due to travel delays they were even available slightly after closing for the drop off. But the best part was that the dogs did not just sit in a kennel all day. They had play time every day for a good amount of time. The webcam was one of my favorite things to watch while waiting to be able to return home!! They came home bathed and happy. And tired enough to sleep all the way on the car ride! Thank you Bark and Board! read more

We boarded both of our dogs at the Westside location several times. Our oldest dog had experienced seizures and needed a little extra care and monitoring. On his last stay there he came back to us 8 lbs lighter and completely not the same dog. We are pretty sure that he had a couple of seizures while there and also that the staff did not give him his meds as specified. He was living through his new condition and doing great until that last stay. We ended up having to put him down a week after we got him back. The Westside location is absolutely awful. The manager refused to even call us back or return our emails. As far as I am concerned this place is the WORST place to keep a pet. The staff are incompetent and useless and acted like they couldn't care about what happened as it wasn't their problem or their fault. Our other dog developed a severe fever and almost died after being groomed at their location this past summer also. If you want your dogs to be left laying in their own feces and urine in a cage all day this is the place to board them. If you love your animals steer clear of this pathetic excuse for a dog boarding facility. read more

If you are looking for a place to take your beloved pet this is the place. They are welcoming and have always been there for our pet. They know me and my pet by name. If my pet did have a problem they called me and asked me how I would like to take care of it. You can also watch your pet on one of their muti-cameras online. They go out of their way for their customers. We got hooked and We love it! read more

UPDATE: MY husband told me that it cost $101 exact to do this puppy cut on my pup. I asked several times for them to tell me how much it would cost me over email throughout the day he was there. Probably will not be going back because that is entirely too expensive for a puppy cut. read more

I've been taking my dogs to Bark and Board for the past 10 years. I can't say enough good things about Scott and the staff. They always take great care of my pups and make me feel comfortable and put my mind at ease whenever I'm out of town. My pups have both had major medical problems over the years and have special care and multiple medication needs. Bark and Board does a great job making sure they get all their medication and that all their needs are met. They are the only place I trust to take care of my dogs and the only place I recommend to other pet owners and lovers. read more

Terrible GM and owner. If your dog is young or high energy it will be locked in a kennel alone all day. They do not keep logs of dogs in time out. My dogs had been there many times and was never a problem until Friday. The staff is definitely out to lunch on Fridays all day, and they are rude if you question their methods. They put their neglect off on having too many dogs that day. My question is why commit to so many if you don't have the staff to handle them? I would avoid this place, and find a place with less dogs. read more

Love this staff!! Always greeted by name and my dog seems to be so excited every time we get there! It's worth it to shop around for doggy day care!! This is a little further drive for me, but they have been wonderful with letting me pick my guy up a little later than 8P on the nights I'm running late, and are always super friendly and excited to see us when we arrive.
