I have been grooming my own dogs pretty much since I brought them home as puppies, so I rarely use grooming services. However, I've been VERY tired and grooming two mini goldendoodles is just a lot on me nowadays. Today I brought my girl up here for a an express wash and blow dry so I could just do her cut at home. I made certain to comb her out fully and remove any matting. I even confirmed with the front desk person that her coat was free of knots, tangles, etc. This is the second time they have done a very mediocre job at properly drying the coat. Not only was it not blown out all the way, she had THREE matted knots (leg, neck, rear) that were NOT there when I dropped her off. I expected to be able to jump right into using my clippers, it kept jamming up and I had to use my own forced-air dryer and slicker brush to get it smooth enough for the blades. I 100% understand that curly/wavy coated dogs like this require a bit more, but I didn't expect to have to go over 50% of the work I paid to have completed. Edit: What's crazy is I left this review in their private portal for someone to contact me in August. No response until this Yelp review. I'm not sure if I'm being called a liar or not, because the response is all over the place LOL read more

I've been a patron on this establishment for 4 years now and I'm NEVER returning. For the last few visits the owner would either charge me for services that specifically did not request or just raise the price with no explanation. Today, I dropped my dog off around 830am which I always do because of my work schedule and because his appointment is usually early in the Morning. When I dropped him off today, the owner mentioned that I was dropping him off early but never mentioned any additional fee. I came to pick up my dog and the owner tried to charge me an additional $24 for the drop off I don't mind paying for what is owed but the fact that I was given no warning is ridiculous and basically stealing. I disputed it and the price was lowered to $10. The money isn't the issue, it's the principle. I will never bring my dog here again and i advise anyone seeking a groomer to look ELSEWHERE. read more

Apparently they do not handle new rescues very well? We just picked up our dog from getting groomed. The lady helping us at the front desk made us feel so bad about his behavior while being groomed (he was squirming). She kept letting out the biggest sighs when talking about him and negatively commenting about him. He is the sweetest rescue that we just adopted last week so of course he was scared. Additionally, as a previous spaniel owner, the shaving they did under his belly is an absolute hack job that I had to fix with scissors when we got home. I have a short haired dog who doesn't need much grooming but for spring shedding or holidays I make sure to get him in. I have to say they do a great job AND its the only place he doesn't seem tramatized once he comes home. I would highly recommend for all dog types. read more

Clean dog and its staff are absolutely incredible. The building itself has self service baths and lots of food, treats and everything in between. Very Clean and reasonably priced. The main reason I come back is because of the staff. There genuine kindness, love annd respect for animals/clients is apparent. Whether you have questions or they are helping you wash you fur baby they are attentive and friendly. You never seem like a bother. My dog was a foster and gets overwhelmed easy. They took the time to help me get him comfortable. It took three people to trim his nails. They didn't make me feel bad and all they did was compliment him for being so brave. It's tough to find a reliable groomer in ATL. Especially, if you have a Doodle and grooming is required regularly. I've been to a few in ATL and The Clean Dog is the only one I can honestly recommend. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Always smiling to welcome Arthur and I (that's my pup). The groomer has always made sure to ask my preference on length and style. They also always double check with me on the extras I choose to make sure I understand what it entails. Super accommodating with my nervous Great Pyr mix. Every member of the team is fantastic and friendly. Anna is our pup's fav, super quick and keeps it as stress free as possible for her. Last time we dropped her off I saw Anna doing a very anxious dog's nails through the window and another woman was dancing and singing to the dog to reassure him while Anna worked trying to calm the dog down. It's nice to see people caring for the dog's stress level while they are there, that's my biggest concern and I'm always happy with how they take care of her. Won't go anywhere else. read more

I used to bring my dog to the location numerous times before. I never had an issue until recently. He had not been in a while so I booked the appointment for 9:30. I dropped him off and was told to give the groomer 4 hours. No problem. I finally called around 3pm to check Ip on him and was informed that he had been bathed and pre-cut but was now playing with dogs in the daycare. I was a bit confused as to why let him play after a bath, instead of finishing up to be ready for pickup. I then had a missed call after 5pm, which I immediately returned. I spoke to a gentleman and was informed that my dog was ready. I told him that I do not drive, but will get a Lyft and should be there soon in which he said no problem. While waiting for my Lyft, I received the email stating he was done and a complimentary 1 hour daycare I'd provided while waiting for pickup. On my way there, Maria calls me asking where I am. I explained that I already spoke to someone and am on my way. She then tells me they close at 6 ( it was a little after 6 when she called). I said ok. She then calls me again 15 minutes later demanding to know what street I'm on and she thought I lived closer. I informed here that the road is blocked off by police (Atlanta right) she sighs and says ok. I get there a little before 7 and she is clearly annoyed. First of, not my fault you tell me he's ready after 5 pm and he's been there all day. Second, this is Atlanta and rush hour. I rated 2 stars because the grooming looks good. Not coming back and will also not recommend anyone there again. Like previous posts have stated, I honestly don't think the care of the dogs is priority. Only reason I remained polite in the process was because my dog was still in her care. I left the groomer a cash tip tho, let's just hope she gave it to her. read more

They are professional but not the best at booking the next appointment or letting you know about your pet's behavior or experience. My two dogs were in need of some grooming so I looked up a few places online and stumbled upon The Clean Dog. They had decent reviews and were close to where we lived and could get us in pretty quickly. When I called, the receptionist said there was availability the next day but I had to create an online profile and book it online. Their website is not very easy to navigate and the only availability was a week away. So I put in my request and waited for it to be confirmed. Two days later, only one of my dogs were confirmed, so I called to ensure I could get both of my dogs in on the same day and time. It took the receptionist some time but she eventually confirmed me for Aug 9. On August 6, I got a call saying I missed an appointment so I called back letting them know my appointment was for August 9. She confirmed and we were good to go! August 9, I dropped my dogs off at 8:30am, confirmed the service and left. I was told I'd get a text upon completion and I didn't hear back from them for over 5 hours so I called to follow up. Once I called, they informed me the dogs were ready and we could head there to pick them up. My husband left the house 15 minutes later to pick them up and when he arrived, he was told the dogs were not ready. They said they still needed to do nail trimming. So my husband had to wait there until they were finished. On top of that, When they were prepping my dog (a Dachsund) to get his nails trimmed, they picked him up from the middle of his body, which is not how to pick up Dachsunds, and my dog yelped in pain. My husband witnessed that, expressed his displeasure and told them how to properly hold them. They didn't apologize or act empathetic at all. Once my husband paid and was heading out, my dog ended up peeing in the showroom for a very long time, which tells me that throughout the entire 6 hours they had him, they never let him out to use the bathroom. Also, once my dogs came home, they were clearly very thirsty, and drank a ton of water, which also tells me they weren't offered any while they were there. In general, the service wasn't great, the communication was terrible, appointment process is cumbersome, and most importantly, the staff didn't treat my dogs like I felt they should. Only reason I'm not giving one star is because my dogs bath seemed to be done well, as they smelled pretty good. Nonetheless, We won't be coming back. read more

I don't know where to start - they lost my son's dog - Thanksgiving 2022 and he was gone all night 15 plus hours before they told us ---which turned his vacation (my vacation and our family vacation) into a nightmare. My son pulled together a search team while looking for an earlier flight back to Atlanta. Thank God - my son had friends who immediately searched for our very loved pup. and found him!! As if that incident is not traumatic enough getting answers from the owner about how this could happen, and what steps she's taken to protect others from this nightmare has been an ordeal in itself. And in fact she still charged my son the deposit for the reservation - unless he signs a NDA -- No compassion - no sincere apology - To add insult to me - the owner had the audacity to tell me that this experience was not my personal experience --- our dog is family and I beg to differ, Maria, with your cold ..... very cold response to my review. This was indeed my personal experience in fact it shook our whole family to the core. We all experienced the fear and heartache to hear our beloved Rio was missing. I will be forever grateful to the amazing friends who searched and found our dog. Thank you! I also would like to add that I have been to this shop several times, and each time I purchased treats for my grand pups! Of course I will no longer be a customer of this business because I am still outraged how the owner has treated my son in the aftermath. Long review but please read in entirety. In October of 2021 I picked my dog up from The Clean Dog after a seven day stay. When they brought my dog out to me, I immediately let them know that my dog had the wrong leash on. The employee went to the back and brought back several leashes and asked if any were mine, I told her none of them were. I spoke to the owner, Maria, about this and she flat out called me a liar. She said that she had never seen my dog with that type of leash on. I then showed her personal photos of my dog with the said leash on at which point she proceeded to take my phone to the back and ask her employees if they had ever seen my dog with this leash on. I found this to be very unprofessional. She then told me, "I don't want any bad blood with you". Again, unprofessional. I responded with, "I don't have any bad blood with you I just want my dog's leash." Instead of treating a customer so poorly why wouldn't she just pull up the video footage from that day to see what leash my dog actually had on? But no, Maria instead decided to call me a liar and return my dog to me with a worn out dusty looking leash. Maria decided that if she could not find my leash then she would buy me a new one, and I agreed to this. This all happened in October and its now April. I was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt, but it is more than six months later and Maria has yet to return any of my calls. It seems to me that Maria had no intention of replacing my dog's leash. That says a lot about the kind of business she is running. I have boarded my dog, Oscar, at The Clean Dog a couple of times and even paid extra for comfort perks for him so, it truly shocked me when she called me a liar. I have since replaced my dog's leash but at this point it is about the principle. I understand that mix-ups happen at times, but the way Maria handled the situation was just awful. Do not spend your money here. While the staff is great Maria is unprofessional and rude. read more

I booked an appointment at this location based on the reviews that indicated that the groomer was very good at grooming dogs with special medical needs. I was very clear when I booked the appointment that my dog had several health issues and that I did not want to leave my dog for a long period of time. I was told that I would be given the first appointment of the day so that we could get in and out quickly. Our appointments with our previous groomer never lasted more than about 1.5 hours. I dropped my dog off at 8:30 a.m. When I spoke to the receptionist around 12:30 and learned that the grooming still wasn't completed, I notified her that I was driving over to collect the dog, regardless. When I arrived, I told her that I would be taking my dog now, even if he wasn't finished. The receptionist checked in the back and notified me that they were "just finishing up". I reiterated two more times that I needed them to bring my dog out to me immediately. On about the third request (and after checking with the groomer again), the receptionist came back out, shrugged her shoulders, and told me that the groomer wasn't done. I ended up having to go to the back of the shop to find my dog myself. The groomer STILL refused to release him to me and continued the grooming, warning me that she "had scissors on him", that there were video cameras recording the interaction, and that I needed to "get back". Regardless, I ended up releasing him from the grooming leash around his neck myself. I was also chastised for not having correctly booked the appointment as an "express" grooming, despite my very clear request on the phone when booking, and despite that not being an option as a specific grooming option to book online. read more

Where to start? I dropped my dog off for a 9:30 am appointment and finally got her back around 3:30. 6 hours for a groom of an 11 pound dog and that was only because after calling and being given incomplete info, at the 4 and a half hour mark, I was told that she was as wet and should be ready in 30-40 minutes and they think she'd been cut but they weren't sure. I showed up an hour later and she was just then being cut, so I told them I would stay until she was done. Otherwise she'd probably still be there. Add to that calling and being put on hold for 10 minutes two different times with no one ever returning to the call, and having to call back. I got the sincere feeling that my 9:30 am appointment started with my dog being stashed in a kennel for the first 3-4 hours until they decided to get around to her groom. I get that sometimes we get behind schedule, but when that happens that requires some sort of minimal attempt at communication with your customer, but none was made. When questioned as to what had happened there were some nonsense excuses about a dog and some dye and no ownership of the ball being dropped. An apology was issued after I stood and waited for her to finish but I believe that was only because she heard me tell the girl working the desk that we would not be back. When I asked if they had phones to use to communicate, She looked at me like I was a crazy person. Our first and last time at The Clean Dog. Save yourself the hassle. read more

Scheduled an express wash days in advance. Came back to pick my dog up 2 hours later & he was still in a crate in the back dirty not even bathed. JUST AN EXPRESS WASH since I had to work & am leaving town tomorrow with my dog (who is now gonna come with me stinky & in need of a bath). When I dropped him off I was not informed that they had too many dogs or that the express wash may not be done. Just informed me when I was 2 hours later coming to get him. I asked to speak to the owner or manager and they told me to email her. I want to love this place because they've been good the few washes & grooms they've done & I live a block away. But their lack of communication has lost a customer because it's now effected what I have going on. read more

My dog was in desperate need of a grooming and they got him in fairly quickly :). The staff is friendly and my dog was happy when I picked him up. The only reason for the 4 stars vs 5 is because his hair is extremely short. We discussed hair length prior to his cut and I picked a certain length, but honestly did not realize it was very short so this could be my fault and not the groomers. It's okay though his hair will grow back and lesson learned for me. I'll ask for a longer cut for my fur baby :). He could have also been matted which I understand. I wouldn't hesitate to bring him back next time. I'll just ask for a longer cut and show them a pic of how I usually like his hair cut. Over all a good experience. Be warned!!!! The worst experience even and the owner (Maria) was absolutely horrible! I wish there was a way to give this place a negative score. I took my Golden doodle for a grooming appointment at the Clean Dog. I had never used this groomer, but this business was the only groomer in the area with available appointments. I took my 10 month old puppy there and requested that they not cut her hair low because I love her hair length. The owner greeted me and informed me that my puppy had some matting and it may be impossible to keep her fur, but she would let the groomer assess my puppy and give me a call back. The groomer called and informed me that it might be best to cut my puppy's hair down for her comfort because she had lot of matting. She did not have a lot of matting, but I agreed to let them cut her fur down so we could start over. When I picked up my puppy, her fur was soooooo uneven. Many places were cut to the skin and other places she had fur. I was shocked. I asked the groomer why was my puppy's fur so uneven and she indicated it was to preserve as much of her fur as possible. My dog left looking like she had the mang. I paid $145 for the service. I think I was in so much shock that I just wanted to leave. The next day I called the owner and took my puppy up to the business so she could see how my puppy looked. It was so traumatic. She tried to gaslight me and tell me that I requested this cut. She then indicated she would be happy to cut my puppy's hair even, but she could not provide a refund. I told her I didn't trust her or her groomers around my puppy. I believe the groomer was practicing on my puppy and maybe under qualified based on the results I got. I could never imagine an experienced groomer cutting a dog's hair the way she cut my puppy's hair. Be warned!!!! The worst experience even and the owner (Maria) was absolutely horrible! read more

I have waited a while to post this review because I wanted to give the business time to work things out amicably with me. Unfortunately that was not the case. I used to take my dog here all the time for overnight boarding. However, over Thanksgiving weekend they took my dog for a night walk and LOST HIM. I did not know they did night walks. He did not slip his collar or anything, they simply dropped the leash. He was LOST overnight and management did not let me know until late the next morning. He wasn't found until later that afternoon frantically running around in a parking garage stairwell. They were not the ones who found him even though he was where they "knew he would be." Even though I was out of town, It was essentially up to me to call and text all of my neighbors, whom I am incredibly grateful for, as they were the ones who found him. To make things right with me (a very upset dog dad) they offered to comp me for his "night on the street" and then decided if I wanted a full refund, they would force me to sign a non-disclosure agreement. Make no mistake, management does not care about dogs or their customers here, even if you were a longtime regular like I was. read more
