I've been bringing my dog, Dreamy, to this salon for about six months and always had a good experience--until recently. On my last visit, I called ahead to inform them I would be about 10-17 minutes late, and I was told that would be okay. Upon arrival, I politely asked my groomer if it was possible to have Dreamy ready within two hours, as I had another appointment around noon. Before she could even respond, Derrick, another employee, abruptly interrupted and rudely stated that since I was late, they couldn't make any promises. His tone was unprofessional and dismissive, despite the fact that I was speaking directly to my groomer. I didn't engage further at that moment, but I later called the salon to speak with a manager about my experience. To my surprise, Derrick answered the phone and claimed no manager was available, stating that he was the only one on duty. When I asked to speak with the owner, I was told the owner does not take calls or messages unless I already had direct contact information. Given my background in law, I was able to find the owner's contact details and left two messages, but received no response. When I called back later to check on Dreamy's status, I was finally able to speak with a manager. She was very understanding, apologized for the situation, and even offered to comp the service. However, my issue was not with the groomer but rather with Derrick's behavior, so I declined the free service and paid in full. The manager assured me that this was not the type of service Happy Pup Spa stands for and that she would address it. I thought the issue had been resolved--until today. When I tried to book another appointment, I discovered that my number had been blocked from contacting the salon. I attempted to book online but was unable to do so. Out of curiosity, I called from a different number, and the call went through. And guess who answered? Derrick. He informed me that I had been blocked from booking future appointments due to my previous complaint. I never expected that simply voicing a concern about an employee's behavior would result in being banned from future services. I paid for my service, did not request anything for free, and only sought a professional discussion regarding my experience. The fact that this business punishes customers for addressing concerns speaks volumes. To anyone considering Happy Pup Spa, beware--if you ever have an issue and speak up, you may find yourself blacklisted rather than heard. Not to mention, their services are quite expensive ($100-$200), and given this experience, I cannot justify recommending them. read more

I brought our very nervous senior dog to happy pup today and had a great experience! We were at the point where we stopped getting our boy groomed because he was so nervous, even with his anti anxiety meds. But happy pup spa had an option specifically geared toward nervous dogs in need of extra time and care. So we tried it and the workers spent plenty of time before the grooming even started just building trust with our dog. By the end he was calm and clean as a whistle! I've seen some negative reviews on here directed at a worker named Derrick. For what it's worth, Derrick worked with me and my dog and he was kind and gracious to me and my dog. So I'm not sure what happened with the others who reported otherwise. We will certainly be back! read more

My husband and I have taken our golden doodle there a few times and loved the groomers and how quickly we could get an appointment booked. We called this morning, spoke to Derrick and scheduled an appointment for the following day. We said that if we needed to cancel we would let them know in advance, Derrick hung up on my husband because of that. I called back and he told me that the priority is to take care of their groomers. I asked to speak to someone else and Derrick didn't give me any other options than to talk to him. We are nice people who tip well and appreciate the people who help us. Save yourself the disappointment, time, and money. Find another place to have your pet groomed that isn't money hungry and will actually care about your pet. I had to take my dog to the vet immediately after he was groomed here because he got an infection in his genital area from Kayla shaving him very roughly. He was unable to pee from the pain they caused him. He's since been prescribed antibiotics and anti inflammatory medication for the next 7 days. His chest also had a rash & irritation from rough handling. The owners are NOT willing to take responsibility or accountability for their wrong doing. They are too overpriced to be dirty and sloppy with their work. My communication with the manager are attached below to give you an idea on how this business operates and treats their customers. dont bring your pet to this facility... its pretty from the outside but the groomers and the owner is unprofessional and I was rudely insulted by the owner(Daniel ) in a text I receive cancelling my appointment for both my dogs because I made it clear that they better not charge my card for not cancelling an appointmen. on Monday I called to book an appointmen. I forgot i had already scheduled an appointment for July 13th. When I called the person who answered told me she is looking at my account and at no point did she make mention of the scheduled appointment I already had. We discussed some other issues such as the last groomer cut the hair from my dogs tale which I never do. my dogs usually get full grooming and color of the paws and take. We also discussed they don't do color anymore. so when was some going to call me to let me know being I had a scheduled appointment for both my dogs. I told that receptionist I'll just look elsewher. on Thursday I get a call from happy up spa telling me I had an appointment coming up on July 13th. I said ok great I began to tell her about my dogs last grooming not being good but I am going to give them another try. I also mentioned their coloring . At this time she informs me they don't do coloring any more because the colors they have has expired, really! That sounds crazy to me as a reason to not offer the service anymore, I would think you would just order new product. i said so you don't offer the service I need anymore so I'm going to look elsewhere. She then says well if you dont cancel your existing appt 48hrs prior we will have to charge you the cancellation fee. Why was that the first thing you bring up. Why would you charge my card when you are only letting me know the day before I can cancel that the services I requested and made an appointment for is no longer offered. I asked asa curtesy that should be waved. she first tried to say I understand but that's our policy and that she is not authorized to waive or discuss waiving of fees. Really? She then tells me when I first started to bring y dogs there I sign a contract agreeing to pay late fees. WOW. you didn't spend anytime addressing my concerns about the last groomer cutting the hair completely of my dogs tail. You were more concerned about letting me know about a fee for not canceling. the energy you put into letting me know about the cancellation fee is the same energy you should have put into addressing my dogs tail hair being cut off. I then told her just keep the appointment open and I will let you know by tomorrow if I will be bringing my dogs back. Not even 5 mins after hanging up Daniel the owner texts me. He states he was sitting there over hearing the conversation(WOW). As the owner let's talk about the fact that I normally have a $400 plus bill getting my dogs groomed (cost isn't an issue) and you sat there listening to a conversation and at point as the owner did you feel the need to get on the phone and try to resolve or address my concerns. Instead this man texted me and said he was listening and he is going to cancel my appointment. this not the way to handle business! you are unprofessional you can't keep groomers because bottom line all you care about is money and not my animals!!! i had an appointment scheduled for a full groom on my doodle. we got there on time worker came out and she looked kind of irritated at first but then she was pretty friendly we left the dog and about an hour later i get a text saying she needs to be picked up because the service cannot be performed because she is showing signs of aggression and is trying to bite which was very odd to me from the jump because she is the sweetest girl and she had gotten groomed before and was told she was an angel so i go pick her up and they give advice about recommending cbd and other bs i didn't really pay attention to what she was saying because i knew it was false. perhaps they unintentionally provoked her in a way and couldn't handle it or they simply didn't want to groom her which they could've just let me know. they stated i could bring her back she just had to be under medication so i decided to look elsewhere and thank god i did because they took her in and in less than an hour she was perfectly groomed and i was told she did so good!! so i just don't get it the place is super nice but the service is trash. here is a before and after. will never be going back! read more

This is THE BEST grooming experience I've ever had! I've gone to many places (Petsmart, Petco, etc). My dog has a heart murmur and Petsmart and Petco won't take dogs with heart murmurs anymore. I called on Wednesday and explained everything to Happy Pup. They were able to get me in the next day! When I dropped my dog off, they said they would be done in an hour and on the hour they were done! They listened to what I wanted and gave my pup the perfect cut!
