The staff are super friendly at the front and always welcome my dog, and help take her back. We love Susan who grooms our dog. I've delayed writing this review, as I have gone back and forth on what to say in it. I brought my dog to PnP about a month ago for a haircut after recommendations from multiple people. When I received notification that my dog was ready for pickup, my fiancé left to go pick her up, but when he got there, he realized that our dog's eye was completely shut. She appeared to be in pain and wouldn't let him get a good look at it. When he asked the receptionist what happened, she was not aware of the situation and had to ask the groomer in the back what happened. After getting little information, he left, called me, and we immediately went to the emergency vet as our vet was unable to fit us into the schedule. After some heavy painkillers, the vet was able to examine her eye and determined that she had a severe corneal ulcer covering her entire eye which he said was likely a result of dog shampoo getting in her eye and sitting there. We left the vet with my dog in a cone, on painkillers, and with 5 different eye drops needed 3-4 times a day. I went back to PnP the following day to discuss the situation and express how extremely upset I was. In that conversation, I was given a lot of excuses. To name a few: they have to leave shampoo directly on dogs' faces to clean them... they use special shampoo so that this could NEVER happen... they tried to wash her eye out multiple times... my dog probably needed hypoallergenic shampoo... I could go on, but in that conversation, they never took responsibility for the fact that I brought in a healthy dog and came out with one with a severe corneal ulcer. When I asked about compensation regarding my $500+ vet bill, I was told that is not their policy due to the waiver that I signed (I encourage everyone to fully read this waiver, specifically the clause that assigns a fair market value of $100 to your dog), and all they could offer me was a refund for the groom and a complimentary groom for the future. I was also told that my vet bill was higher than normal, and they were giving her the wrong medication. I emailed the owners multiple times, but got no response. After a few emails, I received a call from the general manager who said that the owner finally decided to pay our vet bill, but I would have appreciated a call and acknowledgement from the owners themselves. At the end of the day, I cannot claim to be a vet and understand how dogs' eyes work, but to me, this seems like a situation that should not have happened. I went back to our regular vet a week after the incident, and they were shocked at how big the ulcer still was at that point, which just reiterates to me how severe this ulcer was and makes me question how long they left the shampoo in her eye. Aside from that, I would have expected an update that there was a problem when I received the call saying my dog was ready. I would have expected that they tell my fiancé when he arrived to pick our dog up. I would have expected the receptionist to know that something was wrong. I would have expected a more genuine apology when I returned to discuss the situation. I would have expected a response from the owners. I would have expected more than what felt like a shrug saying "not our fault, not our problem." Overall, it seems like customer service is not really a priority. I have tried to keep this post un-emotional and just state the facts, as it is not my intention to demean PnP, but I think this is a situation that current and potential customers should be aware of. After having not so great experiences at other pet salons, I was a bit over protective of my baby, Bear. All of the nerves went away after I was brought into a private room and consulted with the groomer, Kristen. She was tentative, listen carefully, and answered all my silly questions. She made sure all of my worries and concerns were answered and she did EXACTLY what I wanted for Bear. Kristen gave him the mohawk I wanted. Isn't it adorable!? Their prices are absolutely reasonable for the service provided. Bear's haircut was $65 + extra $8 for nail dremel + service fee = $82 total. Bear came back to me in about 4 hours looking so adorable and happy. Best of all, I didn't have to do any touch-ups at home afterwards. read more

THIS PLACE IS NOT TRANSPARENT ABOUT THEIR PRICING! We were quoted over the phone $55 for a mini-groom. Again confirmed upon check in the cost would be $55. When checking out, the total somehow came to $75 (before tip). When asked why the difference the receptionist said they added $8 for trimming nails (not a service that was requested, but okay we can live with that). Then said there was a 20% "service charge" to account for the cost of inflation on their products. None of this service fee went to the actual groomer. If you are going to add 20% after the fact for "inflation" just increase your base costs and stop lying to customers about the actual pricing. If you had just quoted me $65 in the first place, I wouldn't be upset. But now I won't be returning because it felt fraudulent and misleading. The mini-groom was fine (average), but I did witness another groomer mishandling another dog as well. He was pushing the dog into one of the gated stations in a not very friendly manner. I wasn't impressed with my dog's final look, it wasn't as neat as I'd have expected. I've been to PNP a few times-- it's 25 minutes from our house so a little far. I've tried every groomer in my area. Even mobile groomers and it just isn't as good. My gals see Carl and he's wonderful. We have a shepherd mix with a very long neck and if you give her a summer cut she looks really dumb. We described as best as we could what we wanted and Carl did a wonderful job! I am so happy. My other girl looks cute in a summer shave but he leaves her ears and paws so neat and tidy. They are 55lbs and 65 lbs with long hair. And for bath, nails, and a haircut it's $190 for both of them. The first picture of my black dog, Zeta is the hack job she got a few summers ago. I'm writing this review after 5 weeks of absolute turmoil we've been through caused by Perk-N-Pooch. I also want to preface that I never write reviews of companies on yelp. But after this experience, I feel compelled to do so. Upon picking up my dog from his grooming appointment, the front desk attendee told me they had a "super minor" issue during the groom where they "barely nicked" the very tip of his tail and had to bandage it. While I was obviously annoyed, I didn't think too much of it given how much the situation was downplayed when explained to me. The next day we took off the bandage to take a look and we were horrified to see they had literally CUT OFF THE TIP OF HIS TAIL. We went directly to the emergency vet where it started to bleed and it was bandaged up again. From there, we went to our normal vet the next day where we tried to keep it bandaged hoping it would heal. On the follow up visit, the wound started to bleed again and I had to make a quick decision to have a procedure where my dog had to be sedated and get stitches. The healing process has been tough. Given how long it needed to be bandaged, it also caused heavy irritation and scabs on his tail that have taken weeks to get better. My poor dog has been in a cone for 5 weeks now and still not done. Thank goodness for our amazing vet who has taken great care of him during the healing process. I will say there were no questions asked when it came to Perk-N-Pooch picking up all the vet bills. They were very responsive and took care of everything financially. But that should be the expectation after something like this. A truly unacceptable mistake from a groomer. Think twice before deciding to take your dog here. read more

I really love this place. The staff are almost all really friendly. The checkin process is fast and simple. You pretty register with their digital POS system, they have a reward system too. 10 visits and you get $15 toward anything. Services or cafe items. Nice!! I love the decor inside as it's very cafe like and inviting. The fist time I took my baby here, the groomer was kind of quiet and went about doing her job. When it got to the drying part, she became very impatient and asked if I want to finish the rest at home since the loudness of the entire facility was a bit much for my pooch. She was annoyed that I said no and I suggested her to give her a break or put a cap on her ears. Why should I have to tell her this common sense idea? I basically have requested her to never work on my dog again. Thankfully everyone and everything else was great that I could dismiss that. Other than that everything was fantastic. Disappointed in my recent visit to Perk N Pooch. I've been a regular customer here for awhile now and always received good service and they have taken good care of my pup during our visits; however, the last time I was there I felt the two individuals at the front either didn't want our business or was not having a good day. Whitney bathed my dog and she did a great and attentive job upon observation. She was sweet, gentle, and kind to my dog during the session. The pup also got a blow dry instead of towel dry this visit. The teeth brush cleaning was pretty short and brief which I've noticed that in the past as well from others washing her. The past bathing visits we've had there from other groomers have all been great as well. I did notice while we were waiting that a dog in another wash station was anxious and scared while being bathed by someone on their team and it took awhile for someone to notice and assist to help calm the dog while he/she was being washed. You can tell the dog was really uneasy and nothing was being done to soothe him/her for awhile. Wish the person would have been more patient or provide good techniques to calm the dog. Price point is pretty high for just a bathe (shampoo and wash only). You have to pay extra for blow drying which I think is pretty standard with other places. Hopefully the recent visit was an off day. Really enjoyed coming here in the past from the initial interactions with the front desk staff to the dog groomers. read more

He looks great, and really looks like what we asked for (keep in mind he's brushed everyday so matting was not an issue) for his "breed" he's an Australian Shepard Standard Poodle Mix. Do NOT take your dog here, especially if you don't want them to be drugged. This was my first time taking my dog to this place and I will never come back. My dog is always excited and energetic when I come pick him up from grooming. He was extremely lethargic and even fell asleep in the car on the way home, which is VERY abnormal behavior for him. He acted the same as when he came back from a surgery where he was sedated at the vet. I read a previous review on here about another dog supposedly being drugged, and the owner either doesn't know or is blatantly trying to deny it. My dog's groomer was Abbie for reference. I am so upset and baffled by this and will not be taking my dog back here again. Drugging/giving sedatives is unacceptable at grooming, especially without consent. read more

I have been reasonably happy with them in the past but this time was unprofessional and I am pretty disappointed. They cut all the hair off her beautiful tail and sliced off the eyelashes. There are plenty of Labradoodles in Sandy Springs so they should know the right way to cut a tail. Her lashes must have been 2.5 inches long! They made an excuse that she moved during the cut, what a lame excuse. A pro knows how to shield eyelashes, especially from a small, middle age, Labradoodle. Our regular groomer was not there so the one they assigned may be inexperienced, inept, or lazy I am not sure. I wish I remembered her name so I could warn you about her. You can ask to make sure you don't get the same groomer that cut Penny. Within a day 3 people have told me her tail looks like a rat's tail now. This is a dog that wherever we went for a walk people stopped us to comment on how beautiful she is. No excuse for this. If they thought it had knots (which it did not) they should have called us before they ruined her look for a year. They think it all fine a good because they gave me 15 bucks back, I, unfortunately, tipped the awful groomer before my dog came out to the car. BTW, I dropped the 15 at the Humane Society, I have no desire to keep any $ from this money Response to owner: - You think $15 is compensation for this work, hhahahhahhah - your funny. - I did not attack the integrity of your employee I attacked their ability to do the job. First time customer. New hire alone at the desk. I was a new hire once..so patient. Still I was told by another employee that she would be right there to serve coffee. 30 minutes and I asked about the possibility of coffee . 8 minutes more and I have a great coffee. Great! Come back and get a bill that's much higher than expected. They had charged for grinding nails. Not authorized or requested. Bill still really high. Told 20 percent charge because of new suppliers due to the pandemic. I was informed that this was stated on their website. I did not book or look at their website .....a neighbor had mentioned they were close by. They did take off the grinding. I paid the 20 percent. I was the shown the 20 percent charge was posted on the bill that I would not see until I had paid it. This could have been handled so differently. Other than Pet's mart and small town groomer back at my parents,' I haven't tried anywhere else. I wasn't a big fan of these places because they weren't consistent and didn't know how to manage Coco. They would take the short cut and just make Coco ugly by shaving everything off; not to mention her nails were poorly cut. I admit Coco is hard to handle. She just goes NUTZ when you try to brush her or cut her nails. On our first visit here, the groomer was very attentive asking what we wanted, taking the time to get to know Coco, and was able to tame her. This is why I knew Coco was in good hands. Typical grooming takes 3hours and the groomer really takes your request to heart. Everytime, Coco comes out beautiful, soft, clean, and at ease. In love with this place and glad that I finally found some place that I trust. For a little bit more $ than what I used to pay at pet's mart, both Coco and I can't be any happier here. I have gotten both of my puppies groomed here multiple times and mostly had great experiences with the groomers (Natalie is AWESOME) but not with other staff there. My main complaint is that I always choose my groomer and book specifically based on that groomers availability - then when I come in they tell me my dogs will have to go with someone else because she is booked or that she is actually off that day. Natalie knows my dogs and my dogs feel comfortable with her so I always request her. There are normally two women at the front desk - one is okay and the other is not pleasant at all, she ignored me on multiple occasions when I walked in and made comments like "oh it must be your first time with us" when I had been there at least 4-5 times previously. Also did not bother asking if I wanted bandanas for my dogs, while offering everyone else one as they picked up their dogs. Overall I feel that my dogs were in good hands with the groomers themselves but the other staff was not very pleasant. read more

I made an appointment for a facial trim for my long-haired rescue pup. When I arrived I asked if it would be possible if my puppy could also have his paws trimmed (not the nails, just the fur). I mentioned I had only booked a face trim when I originally called. After checking with the groomer, Tracy told me she could make it work and it would be most economical if I paid for a facial, paw and sani trim. I happily agreed and thanked her. Moments later, another woman, Michelle, came out and told me I could not have any other services because I only booked a facial trim originally and they were busy. I'm confused. The groomer and Tracy said they could definitely accommodate. Michelle seemed most concerned I asked for more upon arrival than over the phone. I understand adherence to schedules. Truly, I do. However, my dog weighs 10 pounds, so it wouldn't have taken terribly longer to trim his paws. And Tracy had obviously found a way to make it work. We were first-time customers and we won't be back. I use to be a professional dog groomer for 22 years and let me tell you there's nothing I haven't seen in a grooming salon. The love the groomers display for their dogs they groom is without a doubt is astonishing. They bathers are equally as diligent about their dogs they are tasked with. After using P & P for five years my groomer left... I had scheduled for the year as they usually do not have appts. for at least 3 months! I let the new groomer do my dog and WOW! I had two vet appts. to have help with the issues and to relieve the pain of what this man did to him after paying the ZOOM groom. I did not have the glands extraction nor nail clipping and paid (125.) ! Can I say how extremely concerned I am as I am now after 5 weeks still dealing with the issues caused by this groomer! Do yourself a favor find someone else, the staff turnover explains itself as to why they are doing a horrific/experience for your dog and health of your animal.
