At the price point of $110/$120 for a small 19lb maltipoo, I'd expect a quality cut. I'm not sure what the other reviewers are talking about but he did NOT take the time needed on the groom. Pros: * FurPets Mobile Grooming arrived within a 30 minute window of appointment time (beware of this if you have a tight schedule- he was 20 minutes late!) *Grooming from start to finish took 1 hour Cons: *High price point for level of skill offered *You won't get a specific cut- I was told they don't offer "designer" cuts. I just wanted his face rounded but Javier told me they only offer a standard cut and that he does not do scissor work.. *My dog is acting very strange. He will not leave my side which is unusual for him. Something is definitely wrong. I think he may be injured. I can't visibly see anything super concerning (aside from the knick to the mole above his eye that the groomer notified me about) but he keeps rubbing both sides of his face on the floor. Photos: *Photo #1: (the one in the sweatshirt) This is a cut from a previous groomer that I can't ever get an appointment with because they are always booked too far in advance but showcases the round face I am talking about. The body looks nice and is what I asked for length wise but his front chest is slightly uneven. His head is extremely uneven. He has a weird outline basically disconnecting his face from his head. His cheeks are very uneven. The top of his head (in addition to the weird face disconnecting outline) is uneven. Not at all what I asked for. To sum it up--If you need a simple VERY basic shave/cut and don't mind paying the additional premium price, this may be a good option for you. I have been using FurPets for my pup, Nugget (Lhasa Apso/poodle), for approximately a year now and have had nothing but great experiences. Javier shows up for appointments on time or early. Each groom takes about an hour/1.5 hours (much better than other local groomers that kept Nugget for at least 4/5 hours). And I like knowing that everything is being done right outside of my house. Nugget is far more calm than when he went to grooming and had to spend time between washing/drying and the hair cut in crates. Plus, he knows he looks adorable when he's finished. BEWARE I wish I had done more research prior. He showed up to my house late which really wasn't a huge problem. However, he charged me $65 for a 6 minute "full groom" which is impossible. He insisted he cut her nails which takes at least 3 minutes even for a top notch groomer. There is no way my dog could have been trimmed, teeth, ears and glands cleaned in that amount of time. I will never use his services again. I give her much better groom. If you use him, go in van with him during the grooming. Waste of my money. read more

Yesterday we called Fur Pets Grooming to give our Persian cat a flea bath and cut. My husband repeatedly explained to Javier that we wanted to give him a LION cut with a long mane around his neck. My cat had a lot of fur (see before photo) and could easily have a mane. Javier even showed my husband a photo of what we wanted and agreed that would be the look! Despite that, my cat came back completely shaved up to his ears (see photo). Absolutely horrendous haircut. My husband and I explained our dissatisfaction to which the owner had nothing to say. We came across FurPets on accident- they were working with our neighbors' dog. It was an awesome surprise that Javier agreed to come over to our house after his planned grooming and do our three dogs (two less than 15 lbs and one 70lb dog). By the time he got there is was 7:15pm and it took about and hour and a half to do all three dogs. He gave us a realistic timeframe and did an incredible job. The only positive thing I can say is they arrived on time. I have a Yorkie and a Yorkie mix and asked that their hair be left long around face and legs. I even showed a picture as an example. My Yorkie mix didn't even look like the same dog. Hair cut so short and uneven. They even thinned out and layered the long silky hair on their legs! My kitten had an accident on herself and I tried to bathe her but it left both of us stressed out and it was obviously beyond my skills to tidy her up. I called several places but no one would groom her because A) it was Memorial Day, B) she was a kitten, and C) because she didn't have the rabies vaccine (because she is a kitten and too young for the shot). Here Furpets comes in! They agreed to groom her the same day (Memorial Day) and even asked if they could schedule her earlier than her intended appointment. Clean my smelly kitten even earlier than expected? Um, yes! They arrived ten minutes early and took my poor stinky Pickles and she was a new cat within half an hour! She is SO fluffy and soft and smells amazing. Even my boyfriend commented on how soft she was. The only thing was they clipped one nail a little short where I could see a tiny spot of blood but she squirms when getting her nails trimmed so honestly she probably moved when getting it done. When I came outside to get her after her appointment she was laying in the front seat calmly being petted by Javier which told me she was handled safely and with care if she was comfortable enough to lay down and be petted. Furpets was honestly such a blessing to me, I know that sounds dramatic for a groomer but when your cat pooped itself and you have a carpeted house, you need your cat properly cleaned and not a five-minute scrub in the sink. To start off, we have a 6month old shih tzu who has only had a "puppy cut" prior to our horrific experience at another well known groomers in SandySprings. They took Bella immediately to the back , I thought was kind of.. well unprofessional. Then proceeded to put Bella, in the back and in a crate for a few. hours(mind you at least 15 other dogs in the crates barking). Then called at noon- a few hours later (after our 9:00a.m. appointment)and said our pup was trying to bite the groomer. I freaked& got our baby Bella immediately. When I arrived she was still in the crate, shaking& hesitant to come to me (it was scary back there). I grabbed Bella& apologized, but couldn't figure out why my puppy freaked. I knew she needed to be groomed. So I, as everyone else does went on Google! Lol. I found FURPETS GROOMING! I called and Javier, answered. I explained what happened to Bella& he immediately said she was traumatized. I agree. The next few days she wasn't herself. Very timid. So.......... We booked the appointment for Tuesday @5:30- because of my work schedule thats all I could do. He was very happy to help. Then of course I was stuck in Atlanta traffic& had to tell him I may be late. He called back and told me not rush, take my time and we'll reschedule for 6:30. Which was extremely helpful to me. He arrived on time, and very pleasant. My daughter& I walked bella over to his beautiful mini groomer van& she (Bella) was jumping on Javier with love. He held Bella, talked to her& was so soothing & professional. Asking how I'd like her hair, &so on . I stayed a few min just to make sure. He put her on the grooming table talked to her& proceeded to shave her back while I was present to make sure she wouldn't freak (I'm sure this was more for me than Bella). It was my cat's first haircut ever this morning and I am so glad that I used FurPets! I was a little nervous because my cat tends to be skittish. And when I've tried to bathe her in the past? Forget about it. Nightmare. I totally expected to get a call, a few minutes after taking her to the van, telling me that she was throwing a fit. Terrible experience. Late to appointment. Did not follow instructions. Rude. I hired fur pets mobile to come and groom my westie. I did not want to go to my groomers shop due to covid 19. The owner of fur pets came to my home 40 minutes late. I did not get a courtesy call from them. I had to call to confirm they were still coming. This is our second westie and i have given instructions to other groomers for 17 years .When he arrived, we discussed how i wanted my westie groomed. This gentleman and i had a misunderstanding. He asked if i want her short on the back twice and i said yes. He did not ask if i want her short on the sides too. My instructions were to shorten the skirt that hangs on the sides. I expected the sides to still have some length. I said short on the back, not short on the sides. When i saw my dog i asked if he could blend it in more. He refused. He became defensive, he told me he is right and i am wrong and he got in his truck and left. Just not nice. I really was shocked. People often misunderstand one another, but he, the owner was not willing or interested in making me, the customer happy at all. I had a terrific experience with FurPets yesterday. I have a cat who had a lot of matted hair on her back that I was unable to work out. I thought she would need to be shaved. My vet recommended Javier and he was able to get all of them out for me without shaving her. I also couldn't find the cat at the appointment time and Javier offered to come back later once we found her. I now have two very clean and well groomed cats. Javier was very easy to work with and how he escaped these cats without losing an eye or an arm, I'll never know. He's the cat whisperer I guess. read more

I am not one to write reviews often but I feel compelled to warn people against this terrible groomer.  I've had my dog for 7 years and have tried many groomers around Atlanta but this was by far the worst experience.  Since the appointment ended a week ago, our dog has not been the same.  He's been shaking and extremely anxious on and off all day.   We took him to the vet today since this has never happened before and we are still waiting on some bloodwork results but they indicated it could potentially be a spine injury and/or post-traumatic stress from the time at the groomer. Below is a recap of some of the other issues we experienced: ·        Cut - despite showing a photo of our ideal cut and asking to leave our dog's coat slightly long, they shaved him down to the bare skin and closer than he's ever been shaved before.  If we wanted to have him shaved to the skin, we could've just done that ourselves. Additionally, they carelessly cut right into a growth on his tail which caused him to bleed a lot (and has since reopened and bled all over our bed). The groomer was very unapologetic and unsympathetic for cutting our dog. ·        Communication - we found it a bit difficult to understand the groomer and when we asked to see the back of the truck, we found it odd that there was an older man there doing most of the work who did not speak to us at all and did not hear any of our instructions. ·        Interaction - like many others, we tried a mobile groomer because our dog tends to get anxious at large grooming salons; however, when we explained this to the groomer, he did not seem to put our dog at ease at all and handled him very roughly when taking him to the truck. ·        Price - we were quoted a price over the phone when booking the appointment and they tried to charge us a higher price when checking out.  They adjusted it when I pointed that out but it still felt shady that they tried to get away with that. Overall, we were EXTREMELY dissatisfied and would recommend everyone try someone else. read more

Was not impressed at all with the front desk 'young man'. I came to pick up my dog and right of the bat he said' well, we have to put on a handling charge because your dog behaved badly and broke our table' I questioned him as although my pup does not like to stand up, he has never had an issue before and normally loves attention and people. The groomer came out so I questioned her about the 'broken table' and she replied, no he did not break the table but he was very anxious and kept trying to get down, upon his attempts it would bend the hook slightly that he was attached to. I understand that if a dog is anxious and does not want to stand up can make the grooming difficult, but I would hope groomers are trained in calming dogs and making them feel safe. Won't be returning, well the young man also told me unless I sedate him I won't be able to bring him back. I will add that my dog looked and smelled great, but the rudeness and approach of this young man totally put me off. read more

I am extremely disappointed, as I have used this company before with no issues. However, upon trying to schedule an appointment, I left multiple voicemails over an extended period and also sent a message via the company website. I received a prompt response via email, only for them to tell me that they do not have tubs big enough for my 3 month old Great Pyrenees (who is less than 30 lbs.) and 8 month old Golden Retriever. They never once asked for their weight, just what kind of dogs they were. On their website, there are many pictures of "large breed" dogs who are significantly bigger than mine. Overall, the company was unprofessional by not responding in a timely manner, as well as stating that they are unable to provide services based on my dogs sizes, in which they never inquired about. After reading further yelp reviews, I am glad we dodged a bullet on this one. read more
