GROOMERS HAVE NO CARE AND PATIENCE AND ARE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. My 1 year old 9 pound toy poodle came in for grooming. About 20 mins after I left the store I got a call back saying that they have to discontinue the grooming because my dog became way too "excited." Granted I am aware that the groomers safety is important especially for a 9 lb toy poodle (I can only imagine how threatening he must be to a professional groomer). But the condition in which I received my dog was just DEPLORABLE. His hair was still falling off of him when I received him. They didn't even care to brush him off. It was very much "take your dog and leave." If I could have left a negative 5 star review I would have left a negative 10.

My puppy photos after being groomed.

I wish I could give y'all 0 stars. So I took my 8-month-old Yorkiepoo to be groomed at this location today and let me start by saying it was a nightmare and the biggest mistake I have made since becoming a dog mom. It's been a little less than 2 months since my baby was last groomed, and she was a little matted but not to the point they had to cut her like a shaved bird. They shaved all of her hair off to the point where you can see her skin, it's uneven and in some spots it looks as if she nipped her down to her skin. Around her face is the only place she has left her hair, and it's uneven, her ears are chopped up. This is totally unacceptable and disturbing. Since I picked my baby up earlier, she has been acting down. My daughter and I are so disappointed with the results of this appointment and sad to say I will never step foot back in there and allow them to touch my baby ever. I'm unsure of who trained or certified the groomers, but they need to go back to training and try it again. It's no way possible you all charged me that kind of money and played in me and my baby's face. They need to shut that mf'er down, and I mean shut it down quick, fast & in a hurry! My baby will probably be traumatized forever after this terrible experience. I will not be able to get over this. It makes me sad and disturbs my spirit every time I look at my baby. Petsmart grooming department y'all have to do better and get better staff who knows what they're doing, and are passionate about their job.

Betta fish still living in shipping water.

One of the worst pet stores I've been to in awhile. This pet smart is severely neglecting their fish. All of the tanks are covered in algae, it would take them less than an hour to clean them. While they have quite a few tanks they hardly have and fish available. There were 2-4 dead fish in every other tank. The betta fish... were the most neglected of all the fish. Which is impressive as they are very low maintenance. Multiple dead bettas. All the glow bettas had algae in their cups, including some of the regular bettas. Some of the cups look like they hadn't been changed in some time as they were murky. One betta fish was even living in the blue water they are shipped out to the stores in!!! It was horrible. This petsmart should not be allowed to continue selling fish in the current state its in. Animals should not be treated so poorly. For a store that claims to care about animals they sure don't seem like they could give a single hoot about any of the aquatic animals they sell. They are viewed as products before living beings there. I sincerely hope they make some much needed changes, until then i will not being buying anything from petsmarts establishments. If you care for aquatic life i would encourage you to visit fish stores that care about their fish rather than continue to go to this location out of convenience.

***LONG REVIEW BUT WORTH THE READ***…read more This is my sweet, rowdy, rambunctious, and very demanding pup Rhodi! As a first time puppy owner, I just wanted to keep her happy. I let her get away with a lot! I quickly realized that I was not in charge of her but she was in charge of me. What I thought was being sweet was in Rhodi's mind "I can do whatever I want because I won't be punished for it." She would chew any object she could find, bark at me constantly when I wasn't doing what she wanted, would not listen to me when I would call her name, jumped on me and other people, tried to escape out the front door, and peed in the house. I watched videos upon videos but nothing helped! I was doing research on dog trainers and the first thing I thought was "this is so overpriced!" As a young college student with a rowdy dog, I was determined to find the best price with the most qualified trainer and I did! Bark Busters and specifically Cody are the best thing I could have done for both me and Rhodi. I was really nervous about having someone in my home "telling" me how to train my dog, but Cody TAUGHT me. If there was something I was struggling with, like leash training, he showed me an alternative way for me to get her to listen to me. The thought in my mind was "wow, he's not making me do it this way because it's the right way, but he found me a way that was Rhodi's right way I could do confidently." Cody was validating my feelings about not wanting to hurt Rhodi's feelings and continued to talk to me about ways that would not harm my dog or hurt her feelings. Simply being able to "talk" to Rhodi in a way she could understand that I was in charge and that she would still be safe and okay was the goal. In a matter of 2 hours Rhodi was trained! Cody did his job and now it's my turn to do mine with her by following through with the keys to success only Cody could have given to me.

I was nervous about having to train two dogs with different needs, and at different life stages. Cody was amazing. He took the time to understand the different need for both dogs and made improvements that day. Chunk was awful on the leash and would chase anything that moved. Day 2 and I can't believe the difference in control on the walks. Charlie is a puppy and well needs obedience with several indoor behaviors. Happy to say today was successful in going to his bed. The investment in Bark Busters is well worth it for any dog owner. If you're in the Atlanta area Cody is the trainer I recommend. Beyond being great with the dogs he makes you as the owner feel comfortable. He gives you the right techniques and confidence that change and obedience is possible. Cody's open and makes it clear that he is available from here on out if there is anything that I need. Was very nervous about having someone in my home and training my dogs. This was the best decision I could make for me and the boys!

My first impression of the place was walking in a being met with an overwhelming smell. We've been to other daycares and know this is not how it should smell. But, we figured our dog sniffs others' butts so maybe smell doesn't really bother her. Second impression was that the staff kinda seemed half-baked half the time but we figured hey, dog people aren't always people-people. We get it. They just seemed like minimal effort kind of people (we literally got a free stay one time because they had already shut the computer off before we picked her up and they didn't feel like turning it back on...we weren't even late). We never got any bad notes about our dog when we picked her up but we started noticing some things that caused a lot of concern and ultimately led us to pull her out. The first was one time when we came to pick her up, we could see her through the window of a small room that shared a wall with the entrance corridor. She was sitting by herself on the concrete floor, up against the glass just waiting for us to get her. There were a few other little dogs in the room (ours is about 45lbs) but there were no humans, no bedding, no toys, and there was mess everywhere. She was just sitting there looking bored to tears. Not ok. The second was another time we came to pick her up and brought her home. We kept smelling a weird smell and when we inspected her when we got home, we found she had dried urine *caked* on her elbow. There is absolutely no telling how long it had been there and no one bothered to clean her?? How dirty is your facility that there are just puddles lying around not being cleaned that our dog laid in? We brought it to their attention the next time we took her in and told them we did not want to see that again. We asked if they knew what happened, but they said they had no clue where it came from. We understand mess happens, it's a place full of animals. But it was very visible on her white arm. The least they could have done was clean it off for her/us. But they didn't even notice? Again, not ok! The final straw came when we picked her up a few times later and saw a puncture wound on her side when we got home. It had been bleeding and didn't look like anything was done to clean it (which is concerning given how dirty this place apparently is). Not to mention, NO ONE reached out to us that there had been an incident or said ANYTHING to us when we picked her up. Why? Because they had NO IDEA it had even happened!! This time we called them directly about it and asked what happened and they said they were completely unaware of a situation. Um, wtf?? So our dog gets punctured and you can't tell us the story? Like I said, half-baked! SO NOT OK!!! We never sent her back after that! We gave them a thousand chances despite our reservations and they just kept proving us right that we should have been hesitant from the start with that bad smell. TLDR: This place is filthy and they do not keep up with your dog. We recommend literally anywhere else! There are plenty of others to choose from in town.

I adopted Samson on a Monday and needed a dog walker for the next three days...a nurses shift is far too long to leave a dog home alone. Kelli came to the rescue! Even though it was so last minute she came over and met Samson that night. Truthfully, I could tell it was love at first sight for Sam. She greeted him with a big hug, pets and kiss. Made me feel like my pet was going to be in good hands. Since that day Kelli has been working with my overly rambunctious Boxer Mix 2-3 days a week. I opted for her "playcare" option to give Samson more time out of the house and more time spent getting socialized with other dogs. Samson loves to play with other dogs but is a little socially awkward and needs a little guidance. Kelli, an incredible dog trainer, has been great at working with him om that. Doggie "playcare" is more than a walk, she picks Samson up and he goes all around town with her. They go to the dog park, on other dog walks, and on their own walks. Most days she will take him for 6-7 hours. I love that I can come home exhausted from work and not feel guilty about not taking Samson on another walk because he's equally as exhausted! $25/day for playcare. Kelli also does boarding and vacation walks. She has done boarding for us. Samson gets to stay at her house, play in her back yard, and she'll crate too if the human wants that. Another awesome perk for Kelli's boarding? She even picked up and dropped off Samson since we had both an early departure and late return flight. She also only charges $40/night. Like I said before, I can't say enough great things about Kelli. She loves the animals she's with and makes everything incredibly convenient!

I'm sure it will be a lovely experience as much of the staff will be staying on. I found out about the acquisition on a recent trip to pick up the kibble I've been purchasing there for the better part of 3 years. the folks notified me that they will no longer be keeping Fromm products in stock (available via special order) and that I should transition to Pet Wants kibble. based solely on that interaction, I don't think we are fully grasping what it means to switch the kibble a dog has gotten used to--or the inherent stress and effort it takes to gradually shift the dog's (or cat's) food. I wasn't happy about that. I love the staff here, and our dog got his name from an inspirational visit back in 2022. but I'm just not getting the point of selling to Pet Wants, nor am I "with" the concept of force-switching (lack of a better term) to in-house kibble. This tragic outcome raises serious concerns about the care provided and highlights the need for greater accountability in veterinary practices. Silvio, was experiencing intermittent back pain, which was managed with physical therapy. To explore further imaging options (X-rays/MRI) and to fully understand Silvio's condition, I scheduled a consultation with Dr. Gelernter at Common Companion Vet Co's Inman Park location to discuss the risks of imaging with sedation explicitly. During this consultation, Dr. Gelernter assured me: - Sedation was a routine, safe procedure with minimal risks, providing peace of mind. - Appropriate sedatives would be carefully selected specifically for a large-breed dog. - Pre-sedation bloodwork would be performed to reduce risks further. Despite explicitly asking multiple times, she never disclosed that sedation could trigger acute neurological events, such as paralysis, particularly in a dog with known spinal issues. On the procedure day (February 10), no informed consent documents outlining these risks were presented. My husband, who dropped Silvio off, was neither given verbal warnings nor was the promised bloodwork performed. Immediately following sedation reversal, Silvio was completely paralyzed in all four limbs. When my husband arrived to transfer Silvio to Blue Pearl for emergency care, he witnessed clinic staff dragging Silvio on a stretcher across the lobby floor. This directly contradicts later claims by Dr. Gelernter that multiple technicians carefully lifted Silvio due to his size. Dr. Gelernter told me her immediate reaction upon seeing Silvio unable to move was, "Oh my God, did you slip a disc?" Later, she asserted that other veterinarians confirmed paralysis can occur under sedation with IVDD, attempting to deflect responsibility despite having previously assured safety and never disclosing this risk. Alarmingly, she later expressed uncertainty about sedating dogs in the future if paralysis was a known risk. This inconsistency raises serious concerns about her competence and accountability. This error by Common Companion Veterinary Clinic devastated our lives. Adding insult to injury, Common Companion billed us for the procedure causing Silvio's paralysis. When I shared our experience online, the clinic publicly responded with misleading statements claiming compassion. Privately, however, they abruptly cut off communication. Our family's lives and mental health have been profoundly impacted. Caring for a quadriplegic large-breed dog is emotionally, physically, and financially exhausting. We rearranged our home, acquired specialized equipment, and incurred substantial medical expenses--all stemming from an entirely preventable situation. Had the risks been adequately disclosed, we would NEVER have proceeded with the X-rays. This is not merely an unfortunate outcome (which is exactly what Dr. Gelernter actually said to me); it represents negligence, incompetence, and a total lack of accountability. Three weeks ago, I formally requested that Common Companion: - Acknowledge failures in informed consent and risk disclosure. - Provide transparency regarding external specialist consultations. - Immediately review and revise sedation and consent protocols. - Fully reimburse incurred medical and rehabilitation expenses due to their negligence. They have not responded, yet quickly responded publicly to my Google review. My emotional reaction might influence my perspective, but my concerns are valid and rooted in genuine care for Silvio. Dismissing or minimizing this is insensitive and ignores their negligence's profound and lasting impact. Pet owners deserve transparency, accountability, and fully informed consent from those entrusted with our companions' lives. Our pets deserve better! No family should endure this preventable heartbreak. Included are images of Silvio on the way to the appointment and, heartbreakingly, of him the next day, unable to move.

I am not complaining about paying the penalty (I am fully aware it exists and understand why businesses need these policies). I am furious that they are unwilling to recognize there was a glitch and decided to not rely on my word, not trust the phone when I showed them I hadnt gotten their texts and disregards our history, and waive the penalty. An appt that usually costs around 80 plus tax and tip, today costs $194 without including tip!!!!!!! Here go the details if you are interested. When I dropped my dog off I was told I would be notified 30 min before she was ready and that it should take approximately 1 and a half hours to cut her hair. In the past I had shown up at the time I had been told when I dropped her off (although I hadnt gotten the text) and she hadnt been ready. Therefore I began to rely on the texts before going to pickup. Usually this was fine except for one occasion. I was told she would be ready around 4:30. Then I was texted that it was taking longer. We went back and forth and I finally decided to go and stand there at 7:30 pm and insisted on getting my dog. She was still wet. Although I never got an apology or a discount for the poor service, given the long relationship, I took my dog in today. Today I didnt het their texts. There must have been some sort of glitch. Given I wasnt responding to the texts they said they had sent me they finally called me 2.5 hours passed the time they told me she should be ready. Then they told me I should have picked her up at the time I was given and shouldnt have waited for the text. I told them about my experiences in the past when I had shown up at the approximate times I was told, and the time I waited 4 hours and still got a wet dog. Anyways, my dog is fine, and has a great hair cut as always. When I get into the car, their texts started coming through. They told me they had charged my credit card 194 dollars. Upon arrival, Andrea came out to speak with me about how Duchess did (she did great!) and give some advice for maintaining her coat and the schedule we should maintain. Duchess was very clearly treated well during her visit and did not show any signs of discomfort or anxiety when I picked her up.
