Brought my dog for orientation, I work from home but will be leaving for a week and needed to try a place out! I picked him up after 2 hours because their employees lack attention to the dogs. My dog was terrorized by 5 other dogs,one biting his legs 2 others trying to hump him all while the employee is sitting on her phone like she is not at work! I've watched it for 30 minutes before I called up there and told them to remove my dog- his tail was between his legs walking with his butt down- oh if you don't like your dog being humped no worries because they don't try and stop it. My dog is freshly cleaned and he came back after only 2 hours and smelled like pee and shit! The area they keep the dogs is filthy- dogs who clearly aren't trained just shit and piss everywhere This was absolutely the worst place I could have taken him. Front desk was really nice, but upon arrival the place smelled awful. I gave it a chance because it was an emergency and the place came recommended. When I checked the cameras I noticed no one really came in and watched them or played with them. He was in a room with huge dogs. One dog kept trying to sit on him. I also noticed there was piss all over the floor. Chewie is a nervous dog but he will play when he warms up. He hid in the corner the whole time. The worst part is when I picked up my pup, he was so shaken up and he was covered in GOD KNOWS WHAT. He smelled so bad I had to drive with all the windows down. I stopped and got doggy wipes to clean him before we got home because he just kept whimpering. I immediately gave him a bath. Like I said, people seemed nice, but the facility is filthy. I brought my dog here for a temperament test before they would agree to board him. I absolutely love that ! After 6 hours they called to let me know he was ready but unfortunately they couldn't board him. They didn't feel comfortable because his behavior was odd. Once it was explained to me I agreed. These people were lovely and really care about the dogs in their care. Even tho we couldn't board our dog there I bet yours would be in good hands with them. I set up my dog's "orientation" and "temperament test" for a day I was going to work. I had to drop him off early (6:30am) before they opened, which was approved by the manager weeks in advance. I also called Bark ATL the day before to verify that there was nothing else they needed from me. When I dropped him off, the overnight personnel had no idea they should have been expecting me. I got multiple calls at the hospital (which I didn't take because of my job). I called back at lunch when I saw the voicemail. They were calling to tell me that I needed to fill out forms in order for my dog to be integrated with the rest of the dogs. So he had been in a kennel since I dropped him off or in a room by himself for 6 hours. I managed to complete the form on my phone; however, I got a call a few hours later explaining that he was playing so much that it was making other dogs start fights. Whatever that means. My dog is 4 months old and had just spent 6 hours alone in a kennel..... of course he was going to want to play. He doesn't start fights or fight other dogs. If a dog is at a doggy daycare and they are starting fights with a puppy wanting to play, then that dog shouldn't be at the daycare. Maybe they need to have their temperament re-tested. When I picked him up, he smelled like urine and had dirt on him. I asked if he had not been let out and urinated in the kennel, and they told me his kennel was clean (because he's actually trained). So... either their facilities are dirty or there is urine and dirt all over the playroom with the other dogs. I never actually got to see inside the facility. I promised my dog I would never bring him back to that awful place, and I definitely don't suggest leaving loved pets there. If I could give this place negative stars I would. read more

We needed a dog sitter at the last minute. I was able to call this facility at 9 am on a Sunday. They were super nice. Agreed to meet our Shih Tzu. We picked up a copy of her vaccinations from her vet and took her in. Our dog is a rescue and always scared of everyone. She surprisingly took to Jess right away. They even kept our dog away from other animals. We were able to leave our dog food too. Thank you Bark ATL. You came through in a clutch. read more

I love how easy it is to drop off and pick up. The stuff was all very friendly. My only concern was how my dog smelled after I picked her up after only one night and the smell of bleach around small dogs when picking up my baby was very concerning. Probably wont be back. read more

This place is wonderful. It's hard to find a doggy daycare spot that allows for open, cage free play in the heart of ATL. Every time we pick George up, he is happy and exhausted. I'll start by telling you a little about my dog Murphy. He is the most crazy, energetic, off the wall dog I've ever seen. We also have an older dog and after we moved to the city, it became clear that we had to do something with Murphy because he was driving our older dog mad...literally insane. Bark ATL to the rescue. After reading some reviews and checking out their website, I gave them a shot. It's been a few months now and Murphy goes once a week and seems to love it. In fact, he somehow knows when it is Wednesday because as soon as we get up in the morning, he runs and grabs his leash off the hook and waits for me by the door. He doesn't do this any other day. Even though Murphy is quite possibly the craziest dog EVER, they still take him in with open arms. On his first day, they sent him home with a magent with his picture...so cute. Still not sure how they got him to sit still for that. Plus, they friended me on facebook and are constantly taking pictures of the pack and uploading them to Faceebook. Most importantly is the webcam. I like to know that Murphy isn't being a complete nightmare all the time so its nice to be able to check in on him from time to time throughout the day. They are very observant and always let you know if there was a problem. For example, when giving Murphy a bath, Brea immediately emailed me to let me know that she thought he might have an ear infection. The only cons I can see: limited outdoor space for the dog (good luck finding that in the city) and it's a little pricey (but worth it IMO). I will continue to use Bark ATL for all my doggie daycare/boarding/grooming needs...until they get tired of his antics that is! read more

This review is long over-due since I've been using Bark ATL to watch the love of my life dog, Fizzle, since 2010..but I cannot say enough good things about them. I admittedly am a hover-er kind of dog Mom. When I first was considering daycare/boarding places, I insisted on seeing all the back areas where dogs were kept and surprisingly some day cares wouldn't allow it...yet Bark ATL gave me a full tour of the facility. They also calmed my nerves by sending me continued Facebook and email updates while I was traveling for work...and that continues all these years later. They have webcams for you to see your dog both inside and outside, yet I am still that annoying dog parent that checks in all "How's Fizz doing right now". The staff always responds fast and honestly. Oh, and they have drive up "valet" where you just pull up and someone comes outside to retrieve or bring you your dog. How convenient is that when rushing to the airport? They also follow whatever feeding instructions your pet requires and are willing to medicate if need be as well. Most of all, I am so thankful there is someone on site 24 hours a day. Bark ATL is truly where I trust leaving Fizzle when I can't be with him. read more

Bark! Bark! 4 stars! This is a great doggy daycare facility located in Atlanta. My dog likes coming here to daycare, though she has only been a couple of times so far. (She will be coming more often because she has too much energy!) Pros: *The staff really likes the dogs that come, but they are also super friendly to the people too. *The indoor area is bright and very clean. *The floors are comfortable instead of depressing shelter-like concrete floors. *They even have video cameras so you can watch your dog play online. *My dog comes home tired. They also boast cage-free boarding. I haven't tried it, nor do I know if dogs really like that best, but it seems like a good idea. Cons: The price is high ($22/day) for anyone who doesn't make six figures a year (like myself). Like all in-town daycares, there is no significant outdoor area for the dogs to play. read more

Our names are Chewy and Bowie and we wanted to tell all the humans out there how much we LOVE BarkAtl. Our first day at doggie daycare was yesterday. At first, we didn't know what to think of all the new dogs and new humans. It was a new experience for us. But, as the day progressed, we became more comfortable and met a lot of new furry and non furry friends. What we love most about BARKATL is the nice staff and how clean they keep our play areas. Our human parents love the BARK Cams that are set up in each room. Our humans can look at these BARK Cams if they ever feel a need to check on us. We can't wait to go back! read more

I have an amazing experience with this place. I am bringing my little pup here so often since a couple of months. The first day they did the temperament test to my dog presenting her the group one by one and at noon they sent me an email with an update of how she was doing. I can see my dog on the cameras during the whole day and you can see how caring is the stuff. They play with the dogs and check on them constantly. I also find totally convenient the fact that once that you are a costumer you can drop you dog directly from the car and they will bring the dog back to you from the same door so there is no time lost. I only have good thing to say about the place. My dog is totally worn out when I pick her up and sleeps so good. Every morning she is waiting next to the door of the car to go to the daycare and is always happy when I leave her there and when I pick her up. They separate them by size and have them playing in different indoor rooms until it is their time to go out. My dog hates the crate and coming from Europe I don't feel comfortable crating her so this is the best solution for me. read more

My two maltese and I have been customers of Bark Atl for a few years now. You see, my dogs are spoiled rotten and just any boarder won't do. Bark has always been awesome with both my dogs and I have no complaints. I love this place so much that we drive an hour from south atlanta to board the dogs at bark (in midtown atlanta) anytime we require boarding. Here's a few of the things I love about Bark: 1.) Email communication: If you want to make a reservation (after the initial temperment test), all you need to do is email them to ask if there is space. If there is, they will send you an email confirmation right back. 2.) Cage free: Not many boarders in the atlanta area are totally cage free. My dogs will not be happy anywhere other than their crates at home, so this works out well for me. 3.) Daycare is included in boarding: Most places require you to pay extra for the dogs to participate in daycare while boarding. Not bark. 4.) Digital Cameras: If at anytime during the week, you would like to see what your dog is up to, you can. They have webcams as well as people taking pictures of the dogs and posting to the website and facebook. 5) Good care and friendly people: My dogs have never come from boarding with a single scratch on them. The staff really treat your dogs well and are super friendly. Only downside? Your dogs must be spayed or neutered to board here. This is understandable since it's cage free. I don't mind because both my dogs have been altered but some may not be willing to do this. read more

Wonderful place! My husband and I have had to board our dog a few times now and I always feel great about leaving him with Bark ATL. They do not crate the dogs ever and allow them to run around as much as they want. They also have cameras, so you can check on your pup whenever you want. I purchased a 30 day daycare package, and moved within Atlanta a month ago and it is no longer convenient to drop off and pick up my dog for daycare. I have been contemplating writing this review for a long time, but in my search for a new doggy daycare, I felt it necessary. I will start off by saying that I have worked a two doggy daycare facilities and feel I have a pretty good idea of how they are run. On a positive note, the people who work here definitely love dogs, which should be obvious but unfortunately in my work experience, that is not always the case. At first I thought this place was perfect. My dog hates being crated and they don't ever crate dogs...great! I was able to check in on my dog from their website which gave me peace of mind, until I started to notice something. Several times a day, there would be no one in the small dog area where my dog was. I have a very sweet rescue who has terrible separation anxiety that we work on daily...but there he was barking at the gate. Beyond separation anxiety, this is a HUGE safety issue. Both places I worked the number one rule was to never leave the dogs alone. When I brought up this concern I was told that the person in the small yard has to step away for help with grooming appointments and other tasks. There is no excuse for this. I was then told that my dog had an extremely loud bark that was starting to bother the staff. Excuse me??? This is a dog facility, and dogs bark! Yes, I will admit that my baby does have a very loud bark, again, worked on it in training and even went as far as to buy a bark collar which I hated and stopped after one day of using it because the other dogs barking were setting it off. We eventually got kicked out because of his bark. They "allowed" me to finish the package I purchased, but I hated the idea of him not being wanted there. So, bottom line, just be aware that someone is not always with your dogs which could lead to a huge safety issue. When I worked at doggy daycares, fights would happen in an instant and if I hadn't been there to break it up immediately, it could have been very bad. Also if your dog, "barks too loudly" you may get kicked out. read more

BARKATL takes great care of my dog. She always comes home happy when I leave her there, however, Associate, Emily called to see if I was going to pick up on the date noted in the system- thank goodness because we thought that you all closed an hour later than you do. I spoke with Emily twice to clear up the miscommunication, pay and arrange pickup, and in the duration of about three minutes was called "sweetie", "darling" and other pet names SEVERAL times. I found it condesceding and unprofessional. That type of nicknaming is disrespectful. It implies inferiority and is not a way that your customers will appreciate being addressed in the future. read more

This place is awesome! While we have only needed to day/board my dog here three times, it has been an awesome experience! The staff has always been nice and enthusiastic and my dog always came home worn out! On the first visit we got a take home magnet with a picture of our dog, Rigby, and we didnt even have to pay because they considered it her temperment test visit! They also asked my husband, the person who dropped her off that day, to be his friend on facebook and had uploaded a picture of her on their page welcoming her to their pack! I love that they post pictures so you can see all the fun everyone is having while you dog is there. The only draw back is the price. Its not the most expensive, but its close. I do think you get your moneys worth but I dont know that everyone has that kind of money to spend regularly. I still recommend it to anyone who asks and we will def. be back!! read more

I admit, I am a nervous doggy-mommy! I worry at all times about my pups - but when my doggies are at Bark ATL I am not worried. I know they are having fun and being well looked after. I love how as soon as I say to my pups "do you want to go see your friends" their tails start wagging, they head to the door for their leash, and then tear down the path to get to Bark ATL. They clearly know where they are going - and love every minute of it. The Bark Cams are the best. My two "boys" are there today and I've been watching them from work play and have fun. I also love how they post pics on Facebook that I can 'ohhh' and 'awww' over! And the holiday shots are so cute! Seriously, the staff are great and really have helped me learn about being the best dog owner I can be for my pups - and they have helped the pups learn some well needed manors. All of the other dogs there are safe to be around as they are temperament tested. I can't recommend Bark ATL highly enough. They are great! read more

DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR DOGS! I used to be a devoted and happy customer of Bark ATL. I used to take both of my dogs here quite frequently for daycare and boarding. Then everything changed and I never went back... ever. It took me a long time to write this review because I was so angry and upset, and I didn't want that to come through in this review. Here's what happened. I boarded both of my dogs for several day while I was away on business. I also requested that they receive baths on the day of the pickup. When I arrived and paid my almost $500 bill (for boarding and grooming), the first unhappy surprise was that my dogs were a matted mess. It looked like they bathed them but didn't properly dry and brush them out. When I got to the car, I realized that one of my dogs' eyes were filled with blood! See pics I've attached. I was shocked and upset to say the least. What happened?! I immediately went back inside and showed them Oliver's eyes. They not seem that upset or urgent about getting to the bottom of it. The guy working at the front desk went back to the groomer. No one knew nothing! No one could provide any answers! I left and went immediately to my vet to have him examined. They ran tests on both eyes to determine if any damage had been done. None had but Oliver, my dog, had either been harnessed and choked during grooming or had a severe reaction to whatever products they used during grooming. The vet couldn't determine which was the cause. I emailed the owner of Bark ATL who responded with the same line I received on the day this happened. No one knew anything. Nothing happened. Period. There were no apologies. No offer to at least pay the $200 vet bill. Nothing. They were only out to protect themselves, their business, and their reputation. I couldn't have been more shocked and disappointed in them, their business, and they way they didn't take care of Oliver. Be warned! read more

Bark ATL is amazing. I looked for the best place to take my pups and considered other options friends had used. When I found Bark ATL I knew I had found my pups' second home. I rescued a pup when we thought my elderly pup was just days from dying. Old Pup surprised us all and decided to stick around a while longer. When I had to travel I was worried about the care of my Old Pup and after the temperment test and a couple of day stays I felt confident that both would be in very good hands. It's hard to explain how much their special care meant to me. What do I love about Bark ATL? Everything - Morgan and the staff who love their jobs and love the pups. The cage free rooms - although they would take Old Pup to a quieter spot if she seemed overwhelmed. The webcam so I could watch to see what my girls were doing during the day. The Facebook pictures and updates. The Valentine, Easter and Halloween pictures. But most of all, knowing my girls were safe, happy and getting attention and loving during the day. I think all of the above helped Old Pup decide she wanted to stick around for more than a year longer than expected. I know the socialization helped New Pup get used to other dogs and become a very well adjusted pup. We just got back from a weekend with family members and 5 "cousins" - and New Pup was absolutely perfect with all of the other dogs. Happy. Content. Not stressed. Able to judge who she could play with and who to walk away from. Playdays and overnights with a wide range of breeds and personalities at Bark helped transform a shy 2 year old rescue into a happy 3 year old pup. There really isn't anything bad I can say about the folks at Bark ATL! My dog, Bella (she is a bichon-poodle rescue) absolutely loves it! She's very attached to me so I was so concerned about whether she would get the love and attention she gets at home when she's there and she DOES! Every staff member I've met has been wonderful and always in a good mood! (I would be too if I was lucky enough to be surrounded by doggies all day! A great job!) We haven't tried boarding yet but we will soon. Having access to the web cams is so great (for a first time doggie mama like me!) and getting updates on FB is even better! The staff there have always taken great photos of Bella which my family totally appreciates! (And Bella's "grandma" in Florida gets to see Bella on the web cam from a long distance!) I can't seem to find any negatives about this place. I've been leaving my dog here for daycare for about 3 months now. The staff is great and they have cameras so you can watch your dog roam from time to time. For a daycare in the middle of Atlanta, their prices are perfect and it's a walking distance from my office so that's a plus. The parking space is in the back for pick up and drop off, but very small. They offer boarding and grooming so you can pretty much have your dog pampered while you go to work. read more

My dog is afraid of everything but she does enjoy being around other dogs so I've started bringing her here one day a week. I like the facility and the people. They will meet you in the back parking lot when you arrive and take your dog inside for you so you can be on your way. They really do spend a lot of time with the dogs and they are very observant. My dog is a problem child. She doesn't really know how to play and she gets freaked out when there is a lot of commotion or a lot of other rambunctious dogs. This often results in her removal from gen pop, where she can be found cowering in the corner, and her relocation to solitary confinement or to the primo spot behind the front counter with the person who's working there. I really do appreciate that they are watching out for her but I hate that she has to be removed from all the other dogs and that there is not an additional space for the calmer, don't-want-to-play dogs. But, with that said, I do think they watch out for her and they do allow her to hang out in gen pop for several hours before removing her. They always give me an update on her when I pick her up and they do seem committed to getting her to a point where she can fully enjoy the company of the other dogs (they know her background and they know this is a progressive effort, and they haven't said that I shouldn't keep bringing her or anything). They even offered to let her try the doggie pool sometime to see if she'll come out of her shell. I love the Bark Cams where I can search (unsuccessfully, usually) for her when she's there. They have special pricing right now for individual and package visits, and you do get an additional discount when buying a package vs. paying individually each time. And, they take a picture of your dog on their first visit, which they give to you, and they also post their picture on their Flickr page (very cute). read more

Bark ATL is a great service. We took our Lab Dana there while we were out of town for 10 days. We were able to watch her on the webcams that you can find on their website. We started using Bark ATL because of their 24hr supervision that frankly nobody else in the city offers, and that worries me after finding out our last dog boarding facility on North Ave doesn't have 24hr supervision and leaves the dogs unattended over night, they didnt really make it clear to us either. So, just keep that in mind when looking for a dog boarding facility for your loved one as I would be devastated if something were to happen to my dog and nobody be there to help. I definitely recommend Bark ATL and will definitely be returning when we are out of town next. read more

We have been customers of this place for a while, and my dog loves it. But today my experience was terrible. I took down my dog to day care and was already late to work when they told me they wouldn't take him in because they were booked. The manager explained that she send a newsletter (god knows to where cause either me or my boyfriend didn't got one) and I asked why she didn't tell us yesterday as we both stopped there at some point in the day... Long story short they did take in the dog before me since the lady was dressed in buss clothes and apparently you don't get the same amiability if you are wearing jeans to your corporate work (I actually had to explain that I was late for work)... to make matters worse I had to take him back to my condo making me extra late to work and I will have to figure out what to do when the cleaning lady comes at lunch. Just a heads up apparently you need to make reservations in a holiday week and if you come wearing business clothes they might be nicer to you too... Talk about kicking while you are down! read more

My dog got hurt while being boarded at Bark Atlanta and they don't know what happened and got the nerve to be angry at me for being upset, saying "their feelings are hurt that they are being blamed." They charged me full price and told me I have a vet bill! No apology, nothing. read more

I have been taking my dog here for a year. They have bark cams during daytime hours, so you can keep an eye on your pup during the day. They also put pics up on facebook- which is great when you are on vacation missing your pup. On hot days, they have a little pool for the dogs to play in outside. My pup comes home tired everytime. read more

Bark ATL is wonderful - they were the first I tried a couple years ago and always stuck with them. Everyone there is super nice and seems to genuinely care about my dog and all other dogs! They are incredibly sweet people and smart as well. I love that they meet me out back to get her, and bring her back out when I pull up at the end of the day and invoice/charge me automatically. Their whole system is very efficient. Also I love the fact that I can watch my pup on the webcam! I think they have an optional walk to Piedmont service or they used to, which I may use one day if they still have it. Healer is always super happy when I pick her up. :-) read more

My pup loves Bark ATL and comes back exhausted. The folks who work there are fantastic and knew my dog's name after 2-3 visits. They'll even come out and pick up and drop off my pup so I don't have to get out of the car... which is awesome when I'm in a rush to get to work.
