We breed Siberian kittens nearby at our home- Coral Castle Siberian Cattery and we also have eight dogs! The prices are quite reasonable as well, especially compared to emergency veterinary services. Our 15-month old Boston Terrier, Skippy, has always had a fun, loving and ENERGETIC personality…read more While a great dog, Skippy was too excitable, too jumpy, too mouthy, wouldn't come when called, and not overly responsive to the training we attempted at home during the first year of the pandemic. We enrolled Skippy in the 19-day residency program with hopes that we could better integrate Skippy into our active family, which includes young kids. Blake and the team were very professional and responsive throughout the entire process. I was initially hesitant with the training techniques, but I came to understand and embrace them after multiple discussions with Blake. During the 19-day residency program, we could see the strides that Skippy was making. After pickup and our own "training," we worked hard over the following weeks to make sure Skippy's training stuck and that the strides we saw online came through at home. Today, Skippy is able to take part in all aspects of family life, in and out of the home. He is well behaved, able to remain calm when needed (while still being his energetic fun self when it is time for that), and consistently follows all of his on and off leash commands. He sits, goes to down, comes when called, drops items on command that he would chew previously, walks perfectly on leash, doesn't jump on our kids or others, and has very good manners and a calmness that we rarely saw before. Our relationship with Skippy, which was very good before, has hit a new level. He is an even more-beloved member of the family now, and we owe a lot of that to the Prodigal Pooch team. I would add that we definitely put in the work to develop and reinforce the training at home, so I would really recommend this program for those that are serious about following through. If we get another dog one day, we will definitely be working with the Prodigal Pooch.

Not only did I trust Blake given three recommendations from friends, our initial consult sealed the deal. We spent two hours talking about my goals as a dog owner, Blake's approach and method as well as getting to know my dood, Duck. I was ready to move forward before our call even ended. I knew Duck would be in good hands even beyond training as he's in home, there are only 4 dogs in residency at a time, etc. I also like to think that Blake obliged my friend & I when he allowed our pups to complete their residency together. After 19 days with Blake, Duck is calm, attentive, walks freely on his leash, knows all his commands (voice and hand), and bless Blake & Kelly for doing the Lord's work in helping Duck get through crate anxiety. Thanks to Blake, Duck is more than just cute, and I can't help but smile when people comment about how well he minds. Proud owner of a Prodigal Pooch grad alongside 4 of my friends and even more excited for my half sister to start school soon!

Scammed Out of $470 - PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU GO!…read more I'm a first time puppy owner, and I took my dog to the vet 8 days ago after being told he had an ear infection. I wanted to be responsible and make sure my puppy got the best care possible, so I trusted the vet's recommendation. That visit including the exam, tests, and prescribed medication cost me $470. Here's the shocking part!! I never gave my puppy the medicine. Something didn't sit right with me, and I wanted to wait and see. Today, I brought him back for a progress check (with a different doctor this time), and they ran the exact same tests and did the same exam ...only to tell me there's no infection at all. So now I'm left wondering: Was there ever an infection in the first place? The answer seems clear (probably not). PLEASE BEWARE. Don't be afraid to get a second opinion, especially if something feels off. Vet visits can be incredibly expensive, and as pet owners especially first-timers we deserve honest, respectful care, not unnecessary treatments. I'm sharing this so no one else has to question whether they were scammed after the fact. Be cautious. Ask questions. Trust your gut.

I've had the absolute worst experience with scheduling at this Chewy Vet Care. I've been here three…read moretimes, and every single time there's been an issue. I always call and speak with a rep, and they are always cheerful and confirm my appointment. But twice now, I've arrived only to be told by the front desk clerks that they have no record of my appointment. The first time this happened was during our initial visit, where I had to spend 15 minutes explaining to them that the date and time were wrong between their text messages and emails. The second time was today. I was on a waiting list and got a call in the morning, all excited, saying they had an opening. I go in, and after waiting 10 minutes for them to figure out why my appointment wasn't documented, I then waited another 20 minutes for the vet tech who never showed up because they were behind. Why even ask me to come in if you can't manage your schedule? I have a job and another doctor's appointment to get to, so this was incredibly inconvenient. I ended up leaving and telling the front desk staff to cancel both appointments. Turns out, they only canceled one and kept the other despite me specifically asking them to cancel both. I called the hotline to try and resolve this and had to escalate to a manager. She told me she couldn't cancel the appointment and had to call the office directly. She ended up hanging up on me, and when I called back, another representative said there was no record of a future appointment for my pup. The incompetence here is unbelievable. I still haven't received a confirmation email that my appointment was canceled. I will never bring my pup back here again, and I would strongly advise against dealing with them. Highly unprofessional and disrespectful of your time.

The after hours staff gave me options to come in Monday or drop off my cat at local vet ER on Sunday evening for pick up by Per Angel on a regular workday. Miraculously I received a call from Lenee around 9 am offering same day drop off by appointment. for an additional cost which I gladly took. I was there by 11:40 am and had my cat in good hands. We were able to order memorial urn vase, necklace charm, and fur clipping which I had picked out in advance on their website. Lenee was super professional and compassionate. I am grateful for the options of paying more for a Sunday appointment so I can get my cat in good hands and not have to call out sick for work tomorrow. Should you ever need this service please consider the Shugart family to handle your needs. From the beginning of my loss until now I have seen how they treat their clients as family. It really felt like family was checking up and helping you versus a business taking your money and delivering a service and it's done. The counseling service and session they provided was great and needed. I got to talk to other pet parents that had to do the same things as I in giving my pet relief and I've been given some sort of peace of mind at this time seeing what others have gone through as well. All in all, I hope this business continues to thrive because of the horror stories you hear about other similar businesses. We really need more people like this in the world!
