I shopped at this location for years until they discontinued selling Avoderm. During the inventory shortage, one of the managers made a statement to my husband that we learned was untrue. We had been waiting for weeks as they told us a shipment was on it's way. Then they said Avodern had a recall. Then they said some other excuse. Finally, I research online and found that Petsmart discontinued with the brand. Clear as day, manager had to have known since the information was available online. They never offered to help us find the food elsewhere, just kept stringing us along. I also had a blood test done here at the Banfield Vet Clinic to see breed results for one of our rescues. $150 later and the test came back inconclusive. I learned that this is pretty unusual for an actual blood draw and that they probably mishandled the lab somewhere along the process. I know that could have been on the lab end of the process, but I was not offered a refund or even the opportunity for a new blood draw. I simply cannot stand behind this business. read more

The staff is wonderful! I just adopted a pup and they were quick of assistance and helped me find a kennel. The kennel I needed was out of stock and they were quick to mark down the next size up with no questions! I will visit them again very soon! Clean. Pets allowed of course. Easy to get too. Easy shopping experience. Prices are pretty high. I will buy just the basics that are not available elsewhere. The management on duty was wonderful! Do NOT love Petsmart. Their prices are ridiculously high for absolutely everything. I go here if I need something immediately and can't wait for it to be bought online and shipped. Sometimes it's actually cheaper to buy something from PetSmart's own website and have it shipped than it is to buy the identical item in the store, which defies all logic and just boggles my mind!!! No stars. That's my rating. I brought my dog in a few months ago for an "Express" groom. A groom where the dog didn't have to be kenneled. I got caught up in a huge bottle neck traffic jam on the way to the store. When I arrived they told me they couldn't take me because I was late. I was only five or ten minutes late, and there was only one other dog there. I set up another appt. for tonight. I got a phone call at 5:15 from dog groomer, April, reminding me of the appt. I told April I was on my way and would be there in 15 minutes. She said that was great. I left my 15 y.o. daughter at home, who was ill, and then, got an emergency phone call on the way there. I hit the same bottle nose traffic as I did the first time. I thought the traffic the first time was a one time coincidence, but evidently, the traffic is heavy there daily. I walked in five minutes late and the girl told me, "Sorry. You're late. We can't take you" I said, "But you just called me and told me to come. I just left a sick child and had to make arrangements for an emergency situation to get here." She didn't seem to care. "You're late. We can't take you," she said robotically and with no empathy at all. "Why didn't you call me back to let me know my time slot had gone, so I didn't drive all the way, sit in traffic and get turned away for the second time. Why didn't you tell me when you called that I had only a certain window of time in which I could make it to the store and still get in? Why can't you take me?" I asked. No explanation. Just a blank stare as though I was crazy. I asked to speak to the manager who looked at me with the same programmed apathy. She, too, told me "there was no solution". None of the workers seemed to care that I was the customer, that I had received a phone call reminding me to come, but given no warning that if I arrived after a certain time the appt would be cancelled, and no concern for the inconvenience, time and trouble this would cause. Finally, I asked the manager if there was any way she might be able to think outside of the box and get me in. She mentioned that she couldn't do this because the next appt was scheduled at 7:30 and they would need to honor that appt. 7:30?!?!?! My appt. had been for 5:30 and it was now 5:45. I arrived at 5:35!!! That would have given them ONE HOUR and FORTY FIVE minutes to wash and brush my medium sized dog. There were two groomers there and NO DOGS BEING GROOMED, the place was EMPTY, but they were required to refuse my dog and wait idly, to do nothing but stare at the walls, for almost two hours!!! I asked why they could not take her right then and there, quickly wash and brush her. The manager and the groomers replied "Because corporate says we need two and a half hours to groom a dog because the dogs can't leave wet". I said, "But you have no dogs here. You don't need to kennel her if you just start washing her, and if she's a little damp when I leave that's fine" Noooo. They couldn't do this. They needed to sit there chewing their cud until the next dog came in at 7:30. The most frustrating thing was that none of the three seemed to have any concept of thinking outside of the box/thinking creatively to make me, the customer happy. They sat there and looked at me blankly as I became more and more frustrated because they were seriously incapable of creative or critical thought. The three of them sat there and steadfastly said they could not help me. They had absolutely no desire to please, no regard for the trouble they had caused, no solution or consolation of any kind. Just three robots, idiotically insisting that they could not groom my dog as they had only two hours until the next dog was to arrive and they were all doing absolutely nothing but chewing their cud. DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE. THEY HAVE NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS, NO REGARD OR RESPECT FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS AND NO DESIRE TO MAKE GOOD FOR ANY DIFFICULTIES THEIR RIDICULOUS POLICIES MAY CAUSE PEOPLE WHO ARE BUSY AND ON A TIGHT SCHEDULE. THEY ARE EVIDENTLY SPOON FED RULES AND REGULATIONS BY "CORPORATE" AND THE POOR "IGNOROMOUSES" CAN'T THINK ENOUGH FOR THEMSELVES TO SOLVE A PROBLEM, CATER TO A CUSTOMER, OR EVEN REALIZE THAT THE CUSTOMER SHOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF AND APPRECIATED. read more

The first section is hit and miss. Some days I come and 3/4 of their tanks are completely disgusting and filled with mold and algae, today We came in and only about five of their tags had algae... Not covered like they usually are. Some of the staff is extremely knowledgeable, some of the staff couldn't find their way out of a wet paper bag. If I could give no stars I would.The store itself was great but I haven't been to this store since this happened or any other PetSmart Charities Adoption Center in a PetSmart store period. I have will never go there again! The PetSmart Charities Adoption Center descriminates against handicapped people in wheelchairs and won't let them adopt a dog because they think that a person in a wheelchair can't exercise a dog that's high energy according to the lady there that's employed through the Aurora animal shelter and also she tells people over the phone to come in to meet the dogs after she's been told that I have a 4 lb. Chihuahua and asked if the dog I was interested in was good with both small and large dogs. Then she wouldn't let me do a meet and greet with said Chihuahua because she's afraid that a larger dog might hurt him and also being told that the initial dog I wanted to meet was large and small dog friendly then told when I got there that the dog was " only small dog aggressive" then I said to her can I do a meet and greet with a puppy that was up for adoption that I saw online was ok with all sizes of dogs and I was told the dog was but was then told that she was afraid that my little dog would possibly get hurt by the puppy. I then told her that I still wanted to meet the puppy if she controls the puppy on it's leash and I told her I'd sign a waiver to not hold her or PetSmart liable if my Chihuahua got unintentionally injured and she still denied me even to meet the puppy at no time did I get to meet either dog and left in tears and raised my voice outside of the adoption area that they discriminate against the handicapped and not to adopt through them. I personally think that why the dogs seem more "high energy" is that they are kept in tiny dog runs that are smaller than a normal shelter or boarding kennel run are meant to hold small dogs not medium to large dogs and they aren't let out except for potty breaks and for meeting potential adopters. I personally raised and bred Border Collies and was perfectly able to care for exercise and compete in competition's and shows with them using my wheelchair without issues. I lost my last Border Collie at age 12 out of my lines in August of 2019 and was ready to get another dog . I am able to stand a walk up to 4 blocks without my wheelchair and can still handle a "high energy dog" without a issue as Border Collies are considered the highest energy dog out there . By the way my wheelchair goes 15 mph for a 12 mile range so I can exercise a dog at a jogging speed or at a slow run for short distances so I can handle exercising a "high energy dog" without issues once the dog is trained to travel alongside a wheelchair. I have a parapeligic friend who adopted a young high energy black lab though a Labrador retriever rescue here in Colorado without issues even though he relied on a caregiver to attach the dog to his power wheelchair for exercise. I told her that too and it didn't seem to matter to her. I called Corporate PetSmart Charities and filed 2 complaints because the first complaint didn't get any results or response from the PetSmart head manager to me to help resolve this matter the 2nd complaint still didn't get me a response from the head manager either, so I called the Aurora Animal Shelter head manager and was told that she would look into my complaint and talk to her employee that took care of adoptions at the PetSmart that had the adoption area. She said I could come in to the main shelter and adopt a fog at any time without discrimination. I will do that when I'm ready to adopt another dog. I personally hope that this review will get this issue resolved with the head manager at this PetSmart location. read more

I always went here to get my dogs groomed. I'm a regular customer and always go to this store for my groomers in particular. I always see Veronica because she handles my dog with care. With this time, I decided to schedule the appointment online. Of course they did not get it and said they have no record of me making this appointment. I made an appointment 2 weeks ago. So when I called to see if I needed my dogs vaccination records they said I didn't have an appointment. I immediately got frustrated because I knew I scheduled it two weeks ago and it would be impossible to get in now. The manager got on the phone and said she can fit me in later that day and give me a discount. I settled. When I got there my groomer greeted me right away and started to feel my dog for gnats. I told her to charge me extra for the deep conditioner to get them out because that's what Veronica always did. She said no not possible we would have to complete shave her. Never has Veronica shaved my dog. She actually tried. And then this lady told me she can't even try and she would have to settle for little effort. I took my dog and walked away. THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE BANFIELD INSIDE THIS PETS MART A vet that helped me out with my dogs ear infections said that he should get a teeth cleaning too. Said a cleaning will be $190-250 tops with extractions. I get there and they tell me $250, without any extractions! Turns out there was a $40 visit fee and another $25 for medications that they never disclosed! So after they put my dog to sleep and do the cleaning, then call to tell me that the extractions are going to be another $250!!! Don't care about the costs, it was the fact that they said $250 at the most for a cleaning and extractions and now we were into the $500 range! The vet named Jeri Gardner is the worst person to speak with, very rude and only wants to sell you on a health plan. Has no concerns about your pet, just money. Never apologized for the misleading pricing and her excuse is that the vet that quoted me was new and tough luck. Grooming at this place isn't worth it. Last time they forgot to trim the hair around the pads of my dog's feet and said he wouldn't let them pluck his ears. This time they said he wouldn't let them pluck his ears. My dog is almost 10 and has been groomed by many groomers over the years, which all bragged how easy he was to groom. Greeted with "we will try" to groom your puppy. TRY? If you think you can't, you can't. Sure enough, 1 hr later they called to pick him up. His toe is hurt from scratching the kennel (or grinding too short?). Inexperienced staff/manager (very obvious). Have had all my dogs (same high energy breed -Cairn Terriers, and a Jack Russell mix) groomed here from puppy to old age, with no issues. Don't blame the dog if you are not up to doing the job. You made excuses for your lack of experience up front, my fault not hearing what you really were saying "I don't know what I am doing, but I will try". Amazon sells everthing a dog could dream of, and more. Will bring my baby to an experienced groomer. Lost all my business. Update: brought my puppy to independent groomer the next day (today). Yesterday I had both of my dogs groomed at this Petsmart. They did a good job. They were nice and professional. When I told them one dog had a bad leg and the other would fight the nail trim, they made notes to be sure to remember. When I picked them up, both dogs looked, great, smelled wonderful and had cute little bows behind their ears. The trimming around their paws could have been a little bit better, but overall I am very happy with the service I received. read more

No idea who I even talked to on the phone, but he was a complete jerk. I'm not happy with my experience at Banfield, because they gave me back my guinea pig STILL sick. Gone through 3 medications since petsmart refunded my vet bill, and my pig is STILL sick. Guy on the phone told me it was my responsibility to take him to Banfield and they would refud me had I done that. WHY WOULD I TAKE MY PET TO SOMEONE WHO GAVE HIM BACK TO ME SICK?! I am not going to just give up my guinea pig after months of caring for him, but I wouldnt suggest buying pets from here. Petsmart Corporate needs to something at this location- clean house and hire some decent groomers, this place is DANGEROUS to take your dogs to. The grooming dept is a joke- ITS SCARY! I guess they will give anyone job as groomer. I cannot believe how rude they are, the girl with the face tattoos is the worst- no clue what she is doing! Brought my two dogs in for back to back appointments and they both don't like to be there. Trying to check in with our groomer and the girl with face tattoos is YELLING at me about how I cant bring my one dog because he's too anxious. Her tone and voice level was completely uncalled for very upsetting. Apparently, they had ZERO EXPERINCE with anxious dogs, all dogs, not just mine seemed to be scared in there too. Will NEVER bring my dogs here again. They will find any reason to either not groom your dog or charge you extra $. I asked to speak with a manager about how upset I was with the treatment of myself and my dogs. The manager was like a senior in high school, it was ridiculous. After picking up one dog who barely looked groomed- he was there a total of 45 minutes (not long enough for bath, brush, groom and teeth) and was charged $96- we paid for the furminator but they barely had him there long enough to do anything that it promises!! I took my other dog to the Petsmart in Westminster. He looked beautiful (I know he is a handful too), Sandy did a wonderful job for $68!! DO NOT USE THIS GROOMING SERVICE! I called ahead to the groom shop at petsmart to ask about having my dogs anal gland expressed. They informed me I did not need an appointment and I could just come right down. So I packed up my infant baby and my dog. I got there and they asked for my records because I had never been to petsmart grooming before. Of course I didnt bring my records. I wasn't asking for a full grooming. I completely understand that their policy is not to allow dogs in their shop who aren't up to date on their shots however I feel it is necessary to inform people on the phone who call ahead that they need to bring the information in. This review is for the grooming salon. I'll cut them a little slack because they were very busy and I was there for a walk-in service (pup was a little stinky from both ends, so I wanted a tooth brushing and anal glands expelled). The salon itself could use a grooming, and so could most of the employees. It was not very clean. It took me about 20 minutes to get checked in and they asked me several times what services I wanted, because there was so much confusion. My dog was literally finished in 5 minutes, which was not enough time to have the services done adequately. The groomer offered the toothbrush that she used for me to take home, but it had not even been rinsed and she did not have a bag to put it in (yuck). A manager saw this interaction and directed her to get me a new toothbrush, which was nice. If I'm in a pinch again and my pup stinks bad enough that I want to get her in right away, I would probably go back because they are close, inexpensive and I don't need an appointment for most services that I would want. My experience wasn't horrible, but it was certainly not stellar. If I have her teeth brushed again, I will be a little more demanding that they do a satisfactory job. My pup still had stinky breath after the service, but her other end was much fresher ;) read more

Super disappointed in this experience. I've been bringing Zoey here for the last year and while the service has always been decent...today was horrendous. They up charged us and added on an extra service (the chi upgrade) without informing us and said that its "what we normally do". I went in and was instructed to pay before I could get my dog back, which I understand. When I came back to get my dog I was ignored, and told someone would be with me because someone named Caitlin has to put bows in a dogs ears. I get it's cute but when you have customers waiting to get their animals back...that's pretty unimportant. Neither of the other people working greeted or helped. When I was finally addressed I was asked if I paid...again. I'll never be back, this totally ruined my experience, which is a bummer because I really liked the manager. I've been using PetSmart Grooming for my kitten for three years now. I brought her in for a lion cut and a wash. The lady, Kait, asked if she was "healthy" I said yes. I haven't had any health problems in the past. She said it would be two and a half hours. She goes to put Pearl in the kennel (pearl is an eight pound Selkirk Rex kitten and very very calm female.) She comes back patting her neck complaining that my kitten scratched her while putting her in the kennel...something that seams very unprofessional if your working in a kitten grooming center. Either you know how to put the cat in the kennel or ya don't. I get a call 45 minutes later while my 8 month old is sleeping at home: " your cat has fleas! You have to come pick up your cat immediately!" Having to rip my son out of bed, change his diaper, and feed him..I get a second call, " we haven't heard from you! We had to taker her to solitary confinement at banfield and they will charge you." I finally get to the animal hospital to find my kitten half shaved but at least she is ok. Do not trust these people with your animals. I later called to find out they saw one flea on pearl and tossed her aside. Pearl had never had fleas in her life. Since then I have bought this spray "nomofleas" it's natural flea preventative in case this ever happens again. #imappalled read more

Do not use this place for grooming! They are a mess! I believe they have had a personnel turn over recently or under new management and it is failing miserably. We took our dogs to be groomed and one of them had lice from being at a local kennel. We had them all treated, our vet said they would be good after 2 weeks. I called and checked with them and they said 2 weeks as well. We kept the appointment today and they changed their mind and said one month! A phone call and the people making the appointments knowing what they are doing would be nice! We took our pups and our daughters, 5 total $$$ We will not be back for grooming or any other business! read more

Zero stars! I have never been upset enough to write a review of anyplace before. Seriously disappointed. Amid this pandemic you would hope people could be more helpful and understanding. I went to buy dog food for my elderly father who I cannot have contact with because he lives in a retirement community and they are in quarantine. His dog requires a prescription dog food. My father being elderly and having Parkinson's could not find his prescription. I had hoped to buy the bag of food for him to leave at the front desk of his complex, where they agreed to deliver to his apartment room. My partner is a police officer, so of course we have been practicing extreme social distancing to hopefully not pass along anything to the public let alone my father. We also have a four year old special needs kiddo, so coordinating a time when I felt it was safest and easiest to go to the store is no simple feat. The store employee and manager refused to sell me the bag of food. I explained my situation, hoping they would surely understand that this is an EXTREME situation in EXTREME times. Nope. They refused. Now I get to risk our family's exposure or potentially exposing others so that I can try to get a copy of the prescription from my father's vet and go back and try to buy the food again. Way to go PetSmart. It's dog food. Not like a Police Officer risking their life daily, or a special needs family has enough to deal with right now. Needless to say I'll be looking for any other possible business to purchase this food and all of our pet's food from now on. read more

I have brought my cat here twice. Although the groomer seemed great with my cat, both times it was a task in itself to make an appointment with the only cat groomer they have. She seems to work a very limited schedule and not a minute after! Friday I called to see if I could bring my cat in for a nail trim(a procedure that takes less than 10 minutes). I was told if I could get there in the next 20 minutes they could do it. I packed up my cat and headed straight over. Took me 23 minutes with traffic. I was late and the cat groomer left early! The worst part is instead of being polite and understanding they were smug and very rude! So not only is it very difficult to make and appointment they are rude. Not sure how that works?! Veronica was fantastic! I get so nervous getting my cat's hair cut because a past groomer cut him in several places, but he just came back from his haircut here and looks great. He gets shaky with too much stress and instead of forcing him into a wet bath, she opted for a dry bath. So glad he was in good hands. read more

2 trips to this location to get my dogs' nails trimmed. 1st failure was due to "new computer equipment that lost my dogs'vaccination records ." 2nd trip was after I called and was told to come down any time, get there and told to come back 20 minutes later. I really only come here out of desperation, and usually leave annoyed. Things are just marked up SO high. If I'm in a pinch, I'll fork over the cash, but 9 times out of 10, I will plan ahead to buy things like leashes, collars, nail clippers, toys, treats, rawhides, bones and Kongs online to save $. I needed both a regular dog-tag-holding collar as well as a walking harness for my pup last weekend and came here because I'd put it off too long and was in the area running other errands. The harness, really just a single-loop training collar, was $18.99 and the plain nylon strap collar was $6.99. Pretty ridiculous. Most collars on display were much more expensive (and unnecessarily decorative/fancy), however I did almost purchase the hot pink one with cupcakes on it for $9.99, it was adorable. Unfortunately for Petsmart, I call my little canine baby "Muffin" rather than her real name, and there were no muffin collars to be had. Close but no cigar. My husband was easily sucked into paying $11.99 for a squeaky Kong toy for his precious, spoiled dog-child, and that same toy is half that price on Amazon. I will say that the employees here are always friendly and attempt to be helpful. But I don't understand why pet owners have to be subjected to such high markups when trying to train, feed or entertain our furry domesticated animals. A lot of the local, non-chain and even natural/holistic pet shops have lower prices on this stuff nowadays, and that's where I'd rather spend my money anyway. read more

I brought in my dog for a hair cut and they shaved one of his legs super short then probably realized that was not the correct length then stopped and left the rest of his leg hair long! I pointed it out and they said i brought him in like that! Are you kidding me?!! Why would I do that? They even try to ask me if I had children and maybe the child did it?! I have no kids WOW! I WILL NEVER come back here! Called to make an appointment for my cat, shave, bath, ears, teeth & nails. I explained how the groomer that we took her to last year left her in her cage too long and had a cat loose walking around the shop. She was agitated when it was finally her turn and they did not get her rinsed or dried property, therefore, she has been knotting up ever since. I was told that I needed an updated Rabies Certification and needed 48 hours after the shot before they could groom her. Got in for Rabies at my Vet "Foothills Animal Hospital" on Friday and called back to schedule an appointment for the following Wednesday. While at the Vet for the Rabies shot, I asked for a sedative so that she would be able to handle the grooming experience. Got to PetSmart to be told "We don't groom animals that have been sedated". NICE JOB TELLING ME THAT WHEN I SCHEDULED MY APPOINTMENT PETSMART!! I scheduled at this Location, even though it is 30 minutes from my house, as they were the only location with cat groomers. Thankfully, I called my Vet "Foothills Animal Hospital" and they were able to squeeze her in for a shave before the sedation wore off. # petsmart#....For all those who work at any pet store, please use common sense. Keep your "pet beliefs" to yourself. Your customers don't like it when you speak badly of people who have "killed" off their pets, regardless if it was by accident or not. Customers don't want to hear you imply that they are there only to replace this dead pet. Don't imply that they have a dead pet...and don't tell your customers about how horrible it was to find out that someone let their pet die, because it's cheaper to replace the pet than to pay for its medical bills. You work for a company that is trying to sell animals. If your conversation with your customer is negative and you imply that they are a poor pet owner, you will loose customers, and the company you work for isn't making the money they need to pay you with. Also, if a customer says they haven't purchased a pet from your store before, don't tell them the they are wrong and that your know they did. Calling your customers liars and implying that they kill off their pets is not good for your companies business. Always be positive, informant, and don't judge people you don't know. read more

the dog grooming salon is nuts... there are too many groomers in the salon so theyre often just standing around. the prices are high and the dogs come out looking mediocre. plus they yell at the dogs... unacceptable in my book. i wont be bringing my dog back to this location, ive had better experiences at one in another state. read more
