0 rating! the staff (girl with tattoos on hands) argued with me about the condition of the bettas. she said they were checked three times a day and that the fish I was refusing to leave the store without was in fact not sick. bs! I saw two dead bettas in cups still on the shelf, multiple sick fish including the one I brought home. The fish has velvet! a highly contagious Protozoa parasite. She was pretty rude discounting me and that employee is not the first I've seen like that at this location. I tested the water in the cup and the ammonia, nitrate, and nitrite levels were so high (poisonous level) it was disgusting! This general manager clearly needs to visit other Petsmart in the area and take some notes, start at the Applewood Village store! This location is gross and obliviously they have no pride behind their products or presentation. read more

We have been purchasing various supplies from PetSmart as first time hermit crab owners. We have had to visit different locations to get certain materials due to it not being in stock near our house. We purchased a hermit crab tank and starter kit at the Westminster location, which is farther away from us, since Arvada did not have it. We have struggled with temp and humidity control for the crabs (since they are tropical animals living in CO), so we have had multiple returns. Peggy has processed several returns for us in the past couple weeks. Today, as soon as we approached the register she glared at us. We showed her our returns, to which she stated two separate times with huffs, puffs and eye rolls to "next time go to Westminster". We were shocked by the sudden attitude, so we clarified if PetSmart was a chain and why we can't make a return here? Peggy said because it's easier. We asked if it was easier for her or for us, and she said it was easier for her. Confused, we asked why we need to go elsewhere and why she isn't wanting to process our return? She then stated, "Because people who do this kind of stuff and hop from store to store are stealing." Offended, we shared details as to why we were here (listed above) and she continued to shake her head, glare at us accusingly, and said "uh-huh" sarcastically. We couldn't believe it. So we confronted her and said, "why are you accusing us of stealing, that's very rude?!" And then she repeated her accusation. She called management over. She started whispering to her coworkers and managers, and when they were done, she explained our situation, and the current situation, again to the manager. He raised his hand interrupting us, and said "just process the refund". He didn't apologize for her behavior, he didn't try to hear the story. He looked annoyed he was having to be there, said what he said, and walked away. She stood there glaring and shaking her head at us mockingly for several minutes while another coworker processed our refund. So Peggy tried to refuse us service 3 times, talked to us extremely rude and gave nasty expressions for the entirety of our visit, and accused us of stealing twice. Never have I ever expected to be treated like a criminal as an obviously returning and regular customer who is simply trying to do best for their tropical pet in the high-altitude desert climate of Colorado. I have always been happy with petsmart grooming until today. The groomer i had left so I got a different groomer. I told her how I wanted my dogs tail and when I got her back they had cut everything from her tail. My dog now looks like she doesn't have a tail. She had a beautiful tail now it's all gone. Natasia and Taryn have both groomed my dogs and the job is first rate, top notch. They pay attention to details, ears, feet, nails, coat, sanitary areas are all done perfectly. Took my little guy to PetSmart on Youngfield for the third time. There were red flags this time. I could not speak with groomer either before or after the haircut which needed to be finished off. My dog was taken behind closed doors and I could not see what they were doing or how clean it is. I should not have been so trusting. As soon as we walked out, I saw he was scratching more than I'd ever seen him do. His skin is so dry that it has white patches now and he smells worse than before the session. She never spoke to me, but she had time to write a bunch on her Report, including that for $22 more, she would add a better conditioner, shampoo and a skin remedy. I already finished his haircut myself. Now, I'll bathe again and find another groomer. read more

I primarily come here for getting my dogs groomed. My regular Petsmart gets booked up sometimes, and it is not a terribly long drive to get to this one. I must say, the grooming service that I have received here, most recently from Caitlin, has been outstanding. Grooming is not exactly cheap these days, but I don't think I'm going to get a much better deal anywhere than I get here. They always seem to do a very thorough job on the dogs and have them done in 3 to 4 hours. I have not done a lot of shopping at this particular Petsmart, but I did have occasion to visit the Banfield vet here on one time and was very happy with the level of service that I received. read more

I had sort of funny thing happen the other day, I went in to try and donate some food that we no longer needed after our pet passed away , the cashier, I think Patty or Peggy or something scowled at me and said in a really descending tone, "We only take OUR food back! And do you have a receipt?!" I wasn't quite sure how to answer her as I was simply trying to donate, but luckily, another worker came out from behind the counter and assured me that, "Yes, we absolutely do take donations! Worst Petsmart I've ever shopped at. I have to get prescription food for my cat, and the prescription was expired. I didn't know this because every other Petsmart had been giving it to me. I had asked them if they could sell me some to get by till I could get a new prescription, and this grown man in his 60's gets offended by me and says he won't sell to me. It's cat food. He brings over his "manager" who's in her 20's, no name tag, extremely rude the second she walked up, talking to me like I'm a child. Another cashier started chiming in. I had THREE employees yelling at me telling me I was wrong. I asked for all their names and they told me "I don't have to" straight from the managers mouth and they all conveniently weren't wearing name tags, of course! I cannot believe the lack of professionalism here. When I left there were FIVE employees telling me to leave, as I'm literally walking out the door. I was traveling through town a few weeks ago and wanted a doggie bed for my pups. I forgot ours at home, and I had also been wanting to replace one of them at home anyway. I looked on yelp for the nearest pet store, and this came up. We happened to be close by, and it was 5 mins to closing. They were very nice and let me come in as they were locking the doors. I told them my situation, and what I needed. They told me to go in the right direction to look for pet beds. They have a really great selection. It was hard to make a choice in a small amount of time. I ended up going with a cheaper bed compared to some of the nicer ones they had. The one I chose was still pretty nice, and has plenty of room for my two Pomeranians. They have a great selection of anything you need for your dog, and what looks like for your cat as well. The employee's were very friendly, and knew where everything was. I was thankful they let me in even though they were wanting to lock the doors. I really felt bad, because I know what that means when they are closing. Everyone wants to close up, and get home to their families, not wait on just that last customer that just wants that one thing. So thank you. read more

The aisle location or regular shelf location was empty, however, lucky for us they had a big promotional display near the entrance that still had some left. I was so pleased with the groomers at the PetSmart in Arvada. The staff was friendly and my lil Peanut although nervous was cozy in their arms. They made him feel comfortable right away. This was my first time going there. I had already gone to another groomer and was unhappy with the turnout because they didn't do what I had asked. But WOW... My pup Peanut looked amazing. His hair was like a new born baby's hair, super soft. He smelled so good and the groomers at PetsMart did exactly what I asked for the cut. They took the time to listen to me and executed his cut perfectly. I highly recommend them for your grooming needs. Chrissy was my groomer. Had a less-than-stellar experience here. We desperately needed a new leash (the pooch finds his appetizing for some reason), and there were two extremely aggressive dogs trying on harnesses in that aisle. I heard them lash out at other dogs passing by, but I was secretly hoping I could sneak in and grab a leash. Nope! One of the dogs started growling really loud and showing his teeth at my pup. His owner didn't seem the least bit in control, both dogs were huge, and I was afraid he was going to slip out of her hold and attack mine. A store employee standing was standing there, and I asked if she could either move them to the end cap so they wouldn't see us or grab the leash for me, and she didn't do anything and let the dogs continue barking like crazy. I knew it was only a matter of time before mine reacted in self defense, and he did. That made it very simple. If you stand there helplessly and let a fight break out, then we'll take our business elsewhere. I'm not about to have my dog get eaten over a leash. That's a shame, because they did have a really nice selection of merch otherwise. read more

It's OK as far as Petsmart goes. The staff is very friendly and I can always find what I'm looking for. The pets that they have throughout the building seem to be healthy and the cages are always clean. It's the closest one to the new place, so it's going to have to do. We have enjoyed working we all the groomers here and our boy Brewster has always been made to feel like a star when he visits. They are always quick to check his ears, teeth, and nails when I drop him off. I especially love that they all know his name and seem so excited to seem him. He comes out smelling great from his bath and super soft. I can only hope the PetSmart in Loveland is just as great! read more

Had an appt for our dog to be groomed on 7-25 at Petsmart in Arvada by groomer Ryleigh. What a nightmare it turned out to be. Ryleigh used her lazy grooming technique of shaving rather than brushing or cutting hair and butchered our Newfoundland dog. We told her not to shave the tail and only shave small trouble spots. Over one third of our dog was shaved and it looked ridiculous. She told us she couldnt bathe,brush or give it a haircut unless we agreed to have his tail shaved which didnt make any sense so we picked our dog up only to find the mess she made of him. She should find another occupation. Pitiful groomer. read more

Want to put this out there...because I'm irate! I got a call from Petsmart in Arvada....to tell me that they can no longer allow the groomer I've had for 7 years groom my dogs! They said that she can only groom dogs that require a haircut! I have Newfoundlands! U don't clip newfs...nor would I! I volunteer for a giant breed resuce too. So...they just lost...$700 in grooming my personal dogs...plus all the fosters I've brought in for grooming...another $500 a year and another $1500 a year in food I spend at their store. Not to mention...I will be telling all my friends and posting reviews everywhere to show how poor their customer service is! I tip my groomer $10 for the biggies and $5 or more for the Pek, almost every time a bring my dogs in... So there goes a couple hundred $'s of cash for her too! Corporate America at it's best! I took my poodle/schnauzer in to get purdy'd up; she was looking more like a Muppet and was smelling like my 9 year old son... I was very happy with the work they did for her. The price point was average for the services rendered and include a wash, trim (shave), nails trimmed and teeth brushing. She came back with bows in her hair, cleaned up and with minty fresh breath although she still smelled reminiscently of my son. The salon was very busy, I picked her up promptly when they called to advise she was ready so she didn't have to wait around in the back for too long. Booked a dog grooming (bath only) appointment online for 11:30 on a sunday. When I booked it gave me a time of 11:30-1:30 which seemed a little long for a quick bath and dry. When I showed up for my appointment they took all my information, again even tho entered it all online and then after taking the dog they said "it'll be 3-4 hours"... 3-4 hours for a bath? We asked a gentleman that works there why does it take 3-4 hours and he said cause they are booked.... I made an appointment, if they were not going to get to my dog till 2:00 why didn't they just book me for 2:00? I was offered, for $11, a express service which would make it 1-2 hours.. We asked what the animals do in the meantime and he said they are kenneled. No thanks. We took our dog back and left. 3-4 hours means he would be suck in a some kennel for 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 hours with all the commotion of other dogs freaking out and all. Don't overbook your grooming. If you can't get to a dog for 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 hours don't have an "open" appointment and have me come in. Never again. read more
