I could not say enough good things about this place!!!!! My boyfriend and I have bought both of our bunnies from here, and we love to get our frozen/thawed rats from here as well! We love their selection and all of their amazing kindness! Everyone is always so happy to help and answer all of our questions. They are very very informative and want to help!!!!!! Also, if you are a snake lover.... Talk to Karen! She is a snake breeder and has so many ball pythons but also other snakes and crested geckos! All of the snakes in the store are awesome too and she knows everything snakes related!! Our fav spot even to come if we are bored lol! I purchased a female hedgehog on (August 6) I only had her for ONE MONTH.. she has never been around any other hedgehogs, besides the ones in her cage at the pet store. On September 2nd I woke up to four a little Babies... she WAS pregnant when I purchased her from the pet store , that makes me really upset because They told me she was only 10 weeks old!!!!!!!! That means SHE was. BABY HAVING babies and that makes me so mad!!!!!! Pregnancy in hedgehogs is 35 - 40 weeks - I only had her for one month you do the math Now I have the responsibility of taken CARE of FIVE hedgehogs... Called up and spoke with a manager Rachel.. she was totally unsympathetic and rude.. she literally said we could buy the babies back from you.. why would I let them buy the babies back from me , when they didn't even take care of the first hedgehog I purchased.. 10 weeks old for a hedgehog to have babies is WAY to young .....it's not about making money on these babies it's about education and awareness.. they obviously don't care and only looking to make money off of these animals.. Place is well stocked and workers are very friendly. But air conditioning was out and it was very warm in the store. I felt bad for the dogs in the kennels some were panting. Workers said it's been worse on other days. read more

I was part of the problem in EVER doing business here. Please stop supporting breeders, pet stores, etc. There are so many animals in Lubbock that need loving homes. Please check out 4 Legged Friends and other rescues that actually give a damn about these babies. Two of our angels that we got from here had parvo. We dealt with hateful service because these jerks thought we wanted money. How about asking how are babies were doing instead? We didn't want a thing from them and one even admitted they weren't sure of the people they got their puppies from. My sweet girl lived and my sweet boy passed away. Not a day goes by that we aren't devastated that he didn't have better. If you don't want to listen to me on this issue, please ask your vet. Vets in town will not recommend this place, excepting the disgusting place partnered with Pets Plus--where the vets weren't even in to help when our babies were sick! We just took them to Animal Hospital of Lubbock for quality care. Do not fuel this business. Trust me when I say I will be fighting this issue. In the meantime, ADOPT. read more

Rude and unprofessional, spoke with a store associate about the purchase of a puppy and was treated like I was a child. She asked me if I had any questions and I told her no. She then said to me "You should have questions." I took offense to this considering I was planning on buying a puppy from them. Then on my way out I told the supervisor this information and she told me that I looked 18 years old and should have questions regarding this first purchase of a puppy. I explained to her that I am 21 and have 2 other dogs that I've raised from 8 weeks, and then left. 0/5 customer service Secondly, aside from customer service issues, I was shocked buy the amount of large dogs kept in small crates with little to no water. Most of the puppies looked sad and neglected, probably due to being kept in a small crate behind a glass fixture for who knows how long. First and last time in this store, very upsetting. Please go ANYWHERE else for your pet needs. read more

We drove from a couple hours away, to buy a cockatiel because no one in our area had any for sale. I had called Pets Plus a few times, and they were nice enough to answer all of my questions and text me a photo of the birds. The store is really clean, and the girl working there was very sweet with the animals (Hannah). The cockatiel that we bought would fly over and perch on Hannah, and Hannah just babied her, and handled her so gently. The pet store itself is well stocked with colorful cages and food, toys, everything you need. They had a lot of cool animals here, rabbits, a ferret, birds, a few puppies, mice/hamsters/guinea pigs, some exotics and a tarantula (shudder). The cages were clean, and the animals looked well fed and cared for. I apologize for my blurry photos, I had to turn off my flash so it wouldn't reflect on the glass front of the cages, (and my phone is junk-no joke). They have two little glass door rooms, where you can play and interact with the animal that you are considering buying. We were there on a Saturday, and they were pretty busy, but we weren't rushed at all. Prices were reasonable, and on par with most other pet places. Great place! Just came back, three years later to pick up some dog food (this place has great prices), and left with another baby!! Miss Lola is super sweet, employee Emily really cares about the animals there, and she was full of great tips and info on rabbits!! This place is worth visiting, the pets are always healthy, well cared for, happy and cages clean. read more

I was very excited to visit this place once again, after 6 years, but ended up leaving just feeling terribly sad for the animals and disappointed in the employees. Customer service was lacking (employees not friendly), a handful of the animals in their care looked very sick and unhealthy, and the puppies are kept in very small crates without water bowls. Instead, for whatever reason, they use those water bottles that are meant for hamsters/gerbils for the puppies. This is not appropriate. Why would they not allow an appropriate source of water for the puppies in their care??? Also, I asked to take out one of the puppies, hoping to give it some time out of its tiny crate to play and have a moment of extra human socialization (they used to allow this years ago, all the time), and I was denied because they only allow that for people who are 100% "purchasing" the dogs. I could understand this if there were a line of potential buyers lined up; however, I was one of 2 people in the store and nobody was looking at the puppies at the time. Overall, this shop was a huge disappointment. I would only purchase an animal from this place to get it out of a miserable situation and that's all. These people could do better, much better. And if they cared about these animals at all, they would. Extremely upset about these conditions and the lack of simple humanity these people portray. read more

The costumer service was awful. One of the animals had an accident in the cage and the workers didn't clean it up. When an animal went to the bathroom in the room the staff didn't give us extra cleaning supplies. Instead they snapped at us for asking for extra paper towels or wipes. So upset with the customer service. read more

I have spent lots of money here but will never shop here again. I was horrified by the service at checkout. A young curly haired girl was the cashier. She did not smile or greet me. She solely stated my total and after handing her my card, she charges it, hands it back and proceed to play with a sugar glider while I stood waiting. She also announced in front of everybody that a customer calling about a pet sounded high. Note, while she put me off to play with the sugar glider, she did not engage or apologize. She didn't give a receipt and with more than two handfuls I had to ask for a f*$king bag. She did not say goodbye, thank me, smile, etc. I was appalled and she's lucky I didn't embarrass her in front of the other customers. Won't be back. i went yesterday to go buy something for my turtle there was 3 people working not one said welcome to pets plus no one said how can i help they sure did pass by me no one said anything not one word -1. how can i help you 2. can i give you some information on what your purchasing, not one customer service question, then i was at the register this guy was just was just walking from their drive up window to the back i had to personally ask him if i could be checked out after i was there waiting for about 7 min waiting to be cashed out then some girl with long black hair came to the register she looked like she didn't even want to be at work did not say hi thank you or even come again, just the most rudest people there i will never spend another dollar there this place stinks and doesnt win any customer of the year award in my book they beed a better manager to train these people cause i shouldnt even gave them one star they dont deserve any stars i tried to remove the one star it wld not let me! read more

What you WILL find is a very bad stink when you enter their store. What you WON'T find is even a minimal selection of fish food or those 7 day feeder cubes......OR anyone to help by answering questions. I wasted my time and won't make the same mistake again. read more
