I have taken my golden to Heavenly Paws for three years now and they always have done a great job!

Took my dog to be groomed for the first time there. Got a call 4 hours later (dropped him off just as they were opening) saying they he was too stressed and they couldn't groom him. Went to pick him up and got a wet dog back and was charged over $50 for the bath. No trimming or anything else done to him. He was a nervous wreck when I picked him up, and he's never like that, even when he's had to spend the day at the vet. People seemed nice, but I was at a loss as to why they charged me so much for nothing more than a bath. This charge was on top of the gas I used to drive him all the way across town. Should have been no charge, but rather than stand there and argue with them about it I paid and left. Not the right way to do business. read more

If I could leave a zero stars I would. I am new to Texas and looking for a fur baby groomer. I brought my fur baby here to his nails cut. The young lady took him in the back to cut his nails. About 5 minutes goes by and I get my baby back. She informs me, she had cut his nail to far down, so she filed the rest of them. She also said there was some bleeding but she put some ointment on his nail. Got home and his nail was bleeding like it was torn off. Blood spots on the floor. Alot!!!!! I am so upset how could they do this to my fur baby. Will not go there again!!!!! so with that said.....does anyone know of a good groomer cause i won't bring my baby back there again read more

I was scared because I my elder Sheltie was matted and needed grooming very badly. They told me they would not pressure him and would give him breaks. This made me feel better. It took 3 hours. I am very happy with the service Heavenly Paws gave. My Sheltie looked very good. He was soft and dematted and smelled good. His paws looked great all trimmed. They said he was good. I will definitely use them again. They were very kind from beginning to end. I was just happy and relieved to get him groomed. read more

This review is for Funky Pup, Heavenly Paws mobile service: Charged $40 for a bath and nail clipping. Hilariously high pricing for services offered. Services weren't explained before being rendered, we expected a trim to be done for this price. Groomer that was sent out to my location must be super new to his job, or just in a super hurry (He arrived 30 minutes late)- he overcut one of my dog's TRANSPARENT nails by half a quarter inch, then got scared and only cut a tiny bit off of the rest of her nails. Beyond this, he missed the dewclaws entirely, and the overall the nails are super rough. Accidents happen, and that's fine, but just stopping halfway through a job isn't. Aside from clipping a dogs nails being grooming 101, the detail put into the bath was minimal. My dog was returned to me with eye boogers still all over her face. When I reached out to Funky Pup, they replied "Sorry we left some eye boogers, do you want us to come back and clean up her face?", when I explained that I wasn't upset only about the eye boogers, their reply was a facetious "Is there anything else we can do for you?". So let's recap: Showed up late, didn't explain services at all, overcharged me for mediocre at best bathing, cut some of my dogs nails (one waaaaay too much), and has hilariously bad customer service. I recommend you literally anywhere else in Lubbock. read more

Scheduled and took dog in for maintenance trim (face and legs only). When I checked out, was charged $50 for a full groom. Drop off took 15 minutes. He was ready 2 hours later. Dog looks good and people are friendly...but if you're going to charge more than agreed upon you should be told beforehand, not after. read more

Took My Chiweenie and Jack Russell for their first visit to a groomer. I was in hopes they could help with the bad oder they had. When I picked my dogs up, Camy our Groomer came out and told me everything she had done. She clipped their nails and cleaned their ears. When I had dropped them off she asked if they scoot their butts on the rug, which they do sometimes. Camy emptied their anal glands to relieve them, thats why they scoot. Who knew?! In 2018, we moved to Dallas for a few years and when we came back to LBK recently we wanted to go back to our faithful groomer, Heavenly Paws. I typically get the works done on our dogs..they play outside HARD and usually I like to keep their hair on the shorter side. We took our dogs in today, asked for the works. I'm willing to pay for a professional job...but I could have done what they did in my bathtub at home with a pair of kitchen scissors. One dog's hair is as short as I like, but they didn't even brush him bc his top coat is still there. I had to brush him for 30 minutes when we got home. His nails look fine and they brushed his teeth, but the overall cut is very uneven and choppy. My other dog, who is the friendlier and more relaxed of the two, was given a maintenance trim. They said he acted "distracted." He loves people and loves to give kisses but I feel like they are the "professionals" who should know how to deal with an excited and overly friendly dog. Am I wrong? His hair is as long as it was when I took him in, still a few matted places around his butt even. GIVE ME A BREAK. I had to trim him when I got home... Not to mention, NOBODY called me to let me know they were done...I had to guess. They told me 3-4 hours when I dropped them off and i went back 5 hours later to get them. While waiting for them to bring my dogs out I heard them SCREAM at other dogs in the back. Saying "STOP," and "NO!" I'm sorry but I don't want anyone talking to my babies that way. I was extremely happy with this store and the job they did on my mini poodle. I tried a couple other grooming salons. Both were more expensive AND my dog was uncomfortable after grooming both times. One place he had itchy razor burn on his skin from carelessness and the other time he was very hot and uncomfortable (probably from too long under the dryer) when I picked him up. At Heavenly Paws they took him as a walk-in on a Friday. $25 for a full groom, including nail clip and ear plucking plus anal gland cleaning (which I requested they not do, because my dog doesn't have a problem with that). Although you can't see the grooming area well from the front, the front of the store was clean. I told them about my dog's sensitive skin and they were careful to note it down. When he was done he looked very nice. He also had no itching at all on the areas that were shaved (he's a poodle, so that is the feet, face, and sanitary areas), so I know they took their time and used cool blades. I will definitely take him back again. I was happy with the price. My dog was happy--when I picked him up he was kissing the attendant all over the face so I could tell he like the staff a lot. This store was recommended to me by a friend and I have recommended it to several other people since. So happy to find a place that takes care of my boy like I do!! ---- A few notes, they offer free pickup and dropoff of pets for senior citizens certain weekdays which is nice. Brought my 3 rescues to get their nails trimmed. The front desk girl and actual groomer who took our first dog were very pleasant. We first brought in our most recent rescue who I has severe separation anxiety in part to her likely abused past. They were unable to cut her nails because she was too anxious and was snappy which is understandable. I made a comment to my boyfriend that the reason why she probably also didn't well was due to the lack of a window for the dogs to see their owners. Who I presume to be the owner inserted herself into our conversation and basically stated that they don't have a window because it makes the dogs more anxious and that if we don't trust them then maybe we should take our dogs somewhere else. I explained to her that I was just saying that she might be more anxious due to not being able to see us, not because we don't trust them. I've never in my life experiences such crass and rude behavior from someone involved in customer service let alone manage me to, and I'm an ER nurse who has worked at several hospitals. When my boyfriend went back to get our next dog from the car, she again mockingly asked if I was sure I wanted to have my dogs groomed there and instigated an argument. She opted to go on a character assassination rant. I've been to several pet groomer places that were either open or had a window, which in my experience helps a lot with dogs with separation anxiety especially when I'm able to verbally soothe from a distance. I should've read into the reviews before coming. Heed the reviews and don't bring your dogs here. It's just not worth the potential savings. read more

We just picked up Little Andy from being groomed. He was really peaceful and beautiful.. We have been using this establishment for about 6 months. We are very thankful to find a place where we can be assured that he was confident that it is a good place to be....We would often wonder what he might have gone thur without us knowing in other establishments...This place has given us a response from him that has proved to be a very safe place. I have taken my shitzu here for about a year. Today they called me and said she was nipping the groomer so they couldn't finish. I asked if they could give her a rest and try again. They said no, , they were going to "call it a day" I got there and they had butchered my dog. She is half shaved.big patches of her hair were missing. They didnt even bath her or clean up her eyes. The only dog grooming place in Lubbock that hasn't cut my dog. Several other places accidentally cut him, and it's understandable, what's not is the other places tried to hide it. This business seriously injured my shitzu Gizmo and didn't bother to even let me know so I could treat him. They had the audacity to even ask us to pay for the pleasure! He went in a happy & healthy 2 year old puppy to the groomer last Friday January 30, 2015. He came out shaking, whining, and is now stuck in a crate. Vet says injury was caused by TRAUMA to the neck...most likely by jerking a leash!!!! We never even leash him!! My wife called today and was told that their "notes" indicated everything was hunky dory. Very sad when you're caught red-handed and decide the best policy is denial. No apology, nothing. Brought my senior Dachshund "Oscar" in yesterday at 9:30 AM. He hadn't been to the groomers in awhile due to Covid and a lack of response from 4 different mobile groomers (another conversation). Oscar didn't react well at first, snapped at the crew, and even lost a few of his bad teeth. Morgan was able to calm him down, clean up his bloody face after the tooth loss, then proceed with the bath and nails. Morgan was very kind and considerate and he kept me updated the entire time and they still got Oscar finished by 11:00 AM. The workers here do a very good job. My puppy always comes out looking very clean and smelling great. I took away 1 star because depending on worker they are rude sometimes. Granted this place does get very busy and they are trying to get customers in and out, but I have experienced this more than once. I have gotten my dogs groomed here a few times now. They are currently now charging for walk-ins, so be sure to call ahead and make an appointment. Everyone here is super friendly and wants to get your dog looking great! They do a great job clipping nails, bathing them, furminating them and just treating them humanely. A few times they have come out of one of my dogs feathers (back of legs and booty) haven't been as short as a requested, no worries they always fix it and make sure I leave with the perfect dogs! They were so kind about the situation though, and gave me a recommendation for what I could so instead. They even reimbursed me even though they had cut a couple of the nails. First of all, I have been taking my boys to Heavenly Paws ever since I moved to Lubbock for school one year ago. I've normally never had a problem. There were a few times where it would get late towards the 6PM time where they close and I haven't received a call yet, but I would head there anyways in fear that they would be closed. The few times that I have done that, I usually just end up waiting when I get there because they were running late and hadn't gotten to calling everyone yet. So today being Friday towards the end of the week, I assumed they were probably busy again as I'm waiting for the call. 6:15 rolls around and still no call, so I went ahead and drove up there. I don't live close by, but I've always been okay with making the extra drive out because they are reasonably priced, and that's important for a grad student. So anyways, I get to the groomers and they were closed. A girl opened the door to talk to me, and I told her I dropped off my dogs for a bath and never received a call back. She and her coworker attempted to contact the owner, but apparently had no luck. I was told that the supervisor said my dogs have already been booked for boarding, so I can not take them home with me. I offered to pay for the boarding and everything right there. I just wanted to take MY dogs HOME. I asked if I could speak to the owner or supervisor, even if it's over the phone, but was not allowed to. They told me the computer system is already turned off, so they can't log in to charge me. I even offered to leave my credit cards, wallet, whatever they wanted. I did not care, I just wanted my babies. I am still shaking because I was so frustrated I just wanted my boys back. I called my phone company to request a phone record, and was told the network had a power outage and has been down all day. Which explains why they couldn't get through to me, and I couldn't get through to them. The issue is I felt like they weren't willing to work with me even after seeing my boys for the past year. I offered to do whatever it takes and pay whatever it takes to get my boys back. Imagine if you dropped your kids off at preschool or something and then you couldn't get them back. I'm here alone for school and my boys are all I have, so yes, they are my kids. Update: I picked up my dogs today and had a talk with one of the employees there that knows my dogs and me. She told me the same things I heard yesterday, and showed me the documented calls they made. For the record, I do recognize that they made attempts to contact me. Luckily, my phone company took full responsibility for not notifying customers of the networks being down and credited my account for the boarding fees. As for rating the boarding, I still have to take 1 star off for each of my dogs. I was told they didn't get an afternoon walk yet when I picked them up during my lunch break (around noon), but when we got home, both dogs peed for a long time like they hadn't been out all morning. They were also both extremely thirsty as they both ran straight to their water bowl and spent another few minutes gulping down water. One of my dogs was also acting weird. He went to hide under the couch and refused to come out even when I bribed him with treats. Bottom line is I still think the situation could have been handled better. I wasn't even allowed to see my dogs last night or see what boarding conditions they were in. If you are dropping your dogs off here, ALWAYS show up by 6 regardless if you get a call and regardless if they are running late (which as I've mentioned does happen so you'll just have to wait it out). read more

Took our chocolate lab in for a simple bath like we have before. When my husband went in to pick him up he was met by the owner who had noticed that he was blinking a little and it was probably a hair to keep an eye on him. I got home from work and the dog is virtually unable to open his eye. When I called to ask what had happened I was given a very defensive B.S. story that nothing had happened to him. I then went in hoping to just get an answer and calmly explained I understood accidents happen but that I needed to know what to tell the vet. I was rudely told that he was never injured there.
