I just had a great experience here. When I dropped my dog off the groomer came out and talked to me abut my dog's cut and what I wanted. I was told it would be about 3 hours but I got a call within an hour telling me she was ready. Her cut was exactly as we talked about and she looked great. CUSTOMER BEWARE!!!!!! I have never experienced a situation like this in my life, and am sad that there are business owners who treat customers this poorly. First, I would like to start by saying that I have been a loyal customer for about 6 years. To try and make a long story short we moved out of town, my dog is stray with horrible separation anxiety. She is use to going to Heavenly Paws, so every time we visit family, we take her to get a hair cut. The last time we took her, they cut her on the leg. No big deal, it happens, but no one at the groomers told us about it. The cut got infected and we ended up having to take her to the vet. The vet said that the type of cut she had looked like a razor because we could tell by the slight burn on the skin. I spoke to the owner and she said that when they called the next day to make sure the hair cut was ok we didn't mention it. I told her that we had no idea about the cut and did not know is was infected until several days later (my dog has fluffy hair so you cant see the skin. I just asked her for my money back for the hair cut. The owner laughed at my request for sympathy and I was called a liar and hung up on 3 times. She said that if they were to cut a dog on accident they drop everything and call the owner immediately so it could not have happen with them. I told her I know that is not true because they have cut my dog before and the front desk person told me when I came and picked her up. I did not get a call from the groomer. I don't think that the groomer cut her on purpose, I think that she cut her and cleaned it up, then got busy and forgot to tell me. But if a mistake like that happens the business should make it right. The owner of this establishment is so rude and did not care about my dog, She even threw it in my face that my dog was a problem child because she cries loudly (like I said she has separation anxiety). When I told her I would write a review she said I was "blackmailing her" she obviously does not know the meaning of that word. She said that I just wanted money, and that she does not trust my vet. Let me remind you, I am not a first time customer trying to make some money, like I said, I have been loyal for 6 years!!!!! During this argument another manager took the phone from her and listened to my plight. He defended his staff but also acknowledged that mistakes could happen. He was very nice and rational and offered to send me a check. It has been 7 weeks and I have still not received the refund check. I have told any friends and family members to not go back and would strongly caution you from using this facility. I am shocked at the treatment I received from the owner and feel awful that I let my dog go there for so long. After telling a friend, I previously referred, to not go there anymore she let me know about a confrontation she had with the owner about a concern. She said that she owner went off the rails very similarly to my story and hung up on her. It is crazy that a business owner would behave that way. The groomers and staff have been great it is a shame they have a horrible owner. read more

This rating is for Heavenly Paws. Pet Owners Beware!! They cut the pad of my dogs foot completely off!!! Then tried to cover it up. He was bleeding all over the car. They continued to deny that they caused the injury to his paw, but accepted my money quite willingly. Took weeks to get a manager to call me back and still continued denials. They refused to acknowledge the vet bill and the pictures taken, stating "we do not care and you can give us negative refuses all you want it will not matter. We have plenty of customers." Owners proceed with caution if you choose this facility for your pets needs. Would give zero stars if possible! read more

I made an appointment for 11am and I dropped my dog off at 10:45. I did my errands and came back to see if she was done (around 12:45) The lady tells me she wont be ready until 3. 1. I live out of town. 2. My kids get out of school at 2:30 today and 3. I made an appointment. I understand it takes time. So the receptionist goes to the back and I hear their conversation. The groomer tells the receptionist that "nala" came in and shes a high end client....IM SORRY I HAD AN APPOINTMENT! this was our 2nd visit here and guess what...heavenly paws just lost a client! Now I'm trying to find someone to pick my kids up from school so I can wait for them to finish. I'm not happy. When i made the appointment I wasn't told that the standard wait time was 1-4 hours which is ridiculous! I wish there was an option to leave no stars! I am very unhappy!! read more

I was charged $97.43 for a job that was incomplete. My dogs tail or ears wasn't trimmed at all when I picked him up. His private had razor burn and the inside of his ears was red and swollen. When we got home he was rubbing his head on the couch like they were hurting him so bad. I took him to the vet which cost $60.37 and he gave him steroid cream for his ears and private. The groomer pulled hair out of his ears which caused the inflammation and how painful is that! I went back to groomers when I left the vet to bring this to their attention and the young man said they had a different groomer who would trim his tail and face more and when he went to take him back there my dog didn't want to go like he was scared, the guy said to him it's okay you don't have to get a bath today (but he loves bathes). When they brought him back out his ears still wasn't trimmed but I didn't feel comfortable letting them take him again. Also, while I was waiting I tried to bring this to the owners attention and she ignored me as if it meant nothing to her and said she would give me a call to discuss this but she never did. When I got back home I read some of the reviews about this place and it broke my heart that I had trusted them with my fur baby. If I had read the reviews before hand I know I wouldn't have take him. I took my Pomeranian here for the first time today, and she looks great! I like to keep her hair long and only trim up her paws and her rear end. Most places I've taken her have cut her hair more than I requested, but Heavenly Paws did exactly what I asked. They had her in and out quickly and only charged $20! I have payed closer to $45-$50 anywhere else I've gone. Overall, we had a great experience. We will definitely become regular customers! read more

Brought my two dogs here, corgi and an auggie. Since it's starting to get hot I wanted my auggie shaved. I was told at drop off it would take 3 hours so I called after about 3 and a half hours and they forgot to shave him so we had to wait another hour. When we picked them up, they didn't shave my corgis bloomers so I asked them to please go back and fix it. When my auggie came out his shave was janky and all uneven. The woman who shaved him tried to make an excuse and I asked again and pointed out where all it looked bad and asked for it to get fixed. For $100 I expect my dogs to come out looking right and not like you did it in a hurry. As we were leaving the two people that came in had to send their dogs back because they didn't look right either. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because of the two people who work the front desk. They were very helpful. However, if you'd like your dog to have an uneven shave/hair cut then come here. Have been going there for years. The past few times they have gotten less friendly, if not rude. The giant price increase was the last straw. I appreciate being warned when we booked, but when I was paying they were very rude and defensive after I ask why the prices went up. Apparently shampoo is more expensive now. If I am being charged $47 for a simple cut on a small breed, I want people to at least be nice to me. Won't be back. Notice there are no recent Yelp reviews. They USED to be great. read more

They've really raised their rates. My dog's haircut went from $25 to $40!! For the exact same hair cut! Bit of a price gouge!! For $40, I can just buy a nice pair of clippers and do it myself. They don't go to college to learn how to cut dog hair, the owner just shows a dog-washer how to do it a few times, and after a few tries, the dog-washer is a dog-groomer. It's not rocket science. For that price, I'll just teach myself. read more

I am generally happy with the job they do for my dog. There was a time that her ear got cut but I think that will happen anywhere. I would recommend. The price Is good. I even got a little report card for her behavior. She got an A+. read more

While we really tried to like heavenly paws because they were convenient and very reasonably priced, they never really seemed to listen to how we wanted our poodle cut. Despite giving the same specific instructions each time the cute were rarely similar and even less so as to what was requested. The staff is mostly very courteous but we will take our business elsewhere. read more

I had been taking my dog here since he was a puppy, so for about maybe 4/5 years. But then something changed, it took forever for them to answer the phone, prices went up, which is all stuff I can deal with. But the last time I took him there, they called me to tell me they were gonna have to cut his hair a little bit shorter, but were extremely rude when they were telling me. About an hour later, they call me again. As soon as I answered, someone said "your dog is ready" and hung up. Again, this is all stuff I can deal with, I don't care if you're rude to me. BUT when I went to go pick up my dog, the lady that brought him up front THREW HIM ON THE COUNTER at me and turned around, and walked off. Well when I got home, I was looking at him and they also cut his mouth. I always wondered if he was being mistreated because he was always so scared to go to the groomers. Well i got my dog to a new groomer that has been friends with my parents for years. She deals with abused animals. My dad went to pick up our dog, and the lady told him that he shows signs of abuse... obviously not from our hands, because he lit up when my dad showed up. But the process of being groomed by someone he doesn't know terrifies him because he was more than likely abused/mistreated at the old groomers. Never again will I take ANY of my dogs to heavenly paws. And I wouldn't recommend anyone else take their precious animals there either. read more

I have really enjoyed taking my babies to Heavenly Paws. I have been back many times & the dogs love it there. I have had a couple of times when I call, that I am put on hold for more than 5 minutes & I have had to hang up & call back to talk to someone else, who then helps me immediately. There is also some variation to the friendliness in front office personnel, depending on who answers the phone. Occasionally I feel like I am bothering them (2-3 different people, not same person every time). Also, the two times I have been a bit lazy & asked the shop to trim the nails & clip the feet, both dogs had slight clipper burn between the pads & one of them had a small scissor cut between the front center toes. I know those types of things can happen easily, I just would have liked to know before I left the shop (Which it's completely possible that no one saw it there, because it was small). I continue to take my dogs back there because they love going in & are not in the least bit apprehensive. I will put up with the small grievances if my babies are happy. My only recommendation would be possibly some classes on customer service for all the staff. Many of the staff are happy & even upbeat first thing in the morning, when I have been early. You can tell they love their jobs & are glad to be there. Those are the people I want to leave my babies with! :) Sadly, it's the few who are short or less than personable that have made me second guess going back in & just taking them home. Although the staff are really friendly and seem to at least give the feeling that my dog is cared for, my dog has always come home and gulped water like he's been roaming the desert. On top,of that, my dog has experienced several health issues after being borded here. First, my dog contracted Kennel Cough while being fully vaccinated. After I called to let the staff know of my concern, the next time I called to board they requested shot records which satisfied my worrying. However, after picking up my dog for the second time in a month, I had to once again visit the Vet. An additional $300 later I was told he had contracted a bacterial skin infection from the place he was boarded due to lack of cleanliness. Shame on me, I will not be trusting my dog with their care again. read more

We love bringing our pup to Heavenly Paws! He is usually nervous in new places, but the staff make him feel very comfortable. We never worry about dropping him off, and he always looks great when we pick him up! We will use Heavenly Paws as long as we live in Lubbock. read more
