Received a store coupon in the mail via Valpak. It was for $3 off ANY purchase of $30 or more excluding live animals and fish. Bought a $70 bag of dogfood and a couple treats. When I went to the register to pay, I was told the coupon did not apply to any dog or cat food. The person behind the counter just dismissed the entire thing like it was nothing. False advertising to trick you into coming to the store. Apparently they also don't know the difference between a store coupon and a company rebate. Complete scam. read more

This pet store is amazing! I was in desperate need of some dog food after my Chewy order didn't arrive. I went in looking specifically for Hills Science Diet because that's what my dog, who is 7, has always been on per the vet's recommendation. Well, the owner or GM asked if he could help. I explained my predicament and he in turn gave me a lot of information about the sad truth behind some dog food brands. He recommended Grandma Mae's Country Naturals as well as a can of Switch to help my dog transition. It's now 2 weeks later and the transition is complete. It went very smoothly. My dog has a sensitive stomach so I was so glad he never got sick. I've also noticed a huge difference in how much less he sheds, not to mention how smooth his coat is. I went in today to purchase a bigger bag of Grandma Mae's and wanted to share that I couldn't be more grateful for the snafu with my Chewy order and this pet store's healthier products. Had the Chewy order been successfully fulfilled, we never would have switched his food brand and I'd still be frustrated by the amount of dog hair on my furniture all the while not realizing there were better options for my dog. We will now be regular customers at Pets Plus! Highly recommend! read more

I have been to the location in Tewksbury, and they have a great selection of food! I got a few Canidae treats for my Jack! :) He loooooves 'em! I spoke to someone at the Londonderry location to inquire about a few items, and they noticed that I was calling from a Tewksbury line. They made my trip convenient by having someone bring the items I was interested in from the Londonderry store to the Tewksbury location. Will check Pet Plus soon again! read more

Not pleased with this pet store, and it's very unfortunate that they've been running this long, and at the very least haven't changed their ways. 1.) It's very over-crowded with product, things constantly fall of shelves around every corner. 2.) Cages are not professional, they're just a cage you'd have at home with a pad lock, stuffed on a product self. There's nothing that signifies animals until you really look and see there's actually animals in the cages. ALL of the small cages are over filled with animals. The poor bunnies are 4 sometimes 5 to a very small cage. Hay feed animals such as guinea pigs and bunnies aren't given a consistent amount of hay. Cages are dirty and over used. Birds are very loud, and again, very cluttered and stuffed full. 3.) Fish selection is large, but too large that fish often die before they are purchased. Tanks are crowding the entire back half of the store, and the floor is always wet and slippery. 4.) Everything in the store is severely over priced. I have not found 1 item worth going back here for. I've never purchased anything, but the staff that I didn't come across offered no help, no hello, and no goodbyes. I will not be going back, and I hope these poor animals find good homes, because they're all so sad to look at in there current situation. read more

They claim to breed their animals for the best qualities but a rabbit I got with my friend there was overly aggressive. They told us it was a female, but when we brought her to the vet, it turns out she was a he. What kind of animal breeders wouldn't know that? Their aquatic selection is surprisingly diverse, I bought a few fish and shrimp, all of the shrimp are alive and well in my tank (even a few crystals). Some of the fish didn't make it but it was fish that I have always had bad luck with, overall good experience. I don't usually hold fish death against stores because there are too many variables, and like I said. My shrimp are doing great and the fish that survived are good as well. Definitely worth a stop if you are a hobbyist looking for good selection! read more

If you are looking for the live crickets, this is the place you go. I have been shopping around the crickets for my anole. Here is my opinion. Petco Salem NH-------One small size of cricket costs 16 cent. Rip-off. PetSmart NH --------Half died after 3 days. Not strong. Pets Plus ---------10 cent each. Very active. I'm a tropical fish hobbyist and visit PetsPlus occasionally. I can only comment on their selection of aquarium plants, never having purchased fish. Their plants are in good shape, and they stock varieties that you aren't likely to find in a retail store, e.g. Madagascar lace plant. Some of the help in the fish section is clearly pretty expert. Their selection of filters, food, and other tropical; fish equipment is good, though pricey. They even have some live food, and starter cultures for live food. The only thing I can fault them for is the tight quarters and crowded shelves, and their (sometimes) high prices. Still, worth a visit if you're a serious fish hobbyist. read more

I haven't gone to the store in a few years maybe 4 years solid and I definitely wish I go there more frequently. Place was clean top notch I even saw an employe actually go around and pick up stuff from the floor, the animals are friendly and very well taken care of, they had some genuine whole food products treats and food without filler so (100% chicken, Organ & Bones), all employees were helpful and asked multiple times if I needed help & even greeted at the door upon arrival, I even talked to a nice woman about ferrets and they seem to know what's up. The moment my 8 year old son walked in, greeted by a friendly staff who immediately offered any assistance we might need. We are getting into the hobby of tropical fish and I want to do it right. This is the place and these are the people to help newbies (and I would imagine old pros). All the fish looked healthy and happy. The tanks were impeccably clean, as was the store. My dog Sierra is a golden Irish, and is 3 years old. After her first year we began to notice some not great changes to her health. Itchiness, paw biting, anal gland issues (we had to go to the vet every 3 weeks to get expressed), ear infections, and large smelly poops. And it's not to say that she was "unhealthy" but it was apparent that she was very uncomfortable. Her veterinarian recommendation was to get her an allergy test, a $300 test. It offered no insight. So the vet put her on Apoquel. We literally got a band aid to her issues. On January 6, 2020 I went to Pets Plus in Londonderry, NH where I spoke with the owner, Matt. He recommended Tucker's raw food. I haven't looked back since. The change in my dog is remarkable! I realize it hasn't been even 2 weeks since we switched food but the itching and anal gland issues are GONE. GONE! Her ears are better, her eyes are brighter, poops are small and anal gland issues are non existent. I have done quite a bit of research on the raw diet and I'm so thrilled that this is helping. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. It's made a world of difference in only 8 days. And I'm sure if Sierra could talk she would say thank you as well. The staff is usually pretty good but recently arrived 5 mins before closing and they had already locked the door. Employees inside saw customers at the door and looked away. Worst pet store I have ever been to and that's saying something. They are very rude, they don't honor there returns policy there fish are always dying or already dead. They do have a descent selection of fish when there not dead. There bird section it super dirty and small so I probably wouldn't even say they have a section it's that pathetic. It's very dirty. I feel like over the years they have lost most of there good employees. All in all the staff are very rude not knowledgeable and the store is dirty it's to bad because the Tewksbury store is not that bad especially compared to this one. I will not be coming here again for a while if ever. read more

This place is absolutely terrible I adopted two guinea pigs from here about 2-3 weeks ago and I was promised and told by the workers that they are female guinea pigs mean while I have 4 female guinea pigs arleady at home and turns out the ones I adopted from here are males and not females so now my female guinea pigs are pregnant and are deathly ill because they also caught something from the males the pet store sells there animals sick and doesnt get them checked out by a vet when they are sick and just sell them as is just to make a sale and that is absolutely terrible now all my guinea pigs including the males I have adopted from here are at an emergency vet and I was told that none of them will make it because they are so sick and that the bill is already $3000 dollars on top of that everything in the store is extremely overpriced then other pet stores and there animals are extremely overpriced as well usually guinea pig go for around $40 but they were selling them for $60 and that's pretty overpriced for guinea pigs who aren't even getting checked out and treated by a vet when they have them at there store that's just ridiculous because now I was told that they have been deathly ill since they have been at the pet store and gotten worse for not being treated by the pet store prior to me adopting them and the vet told me that they will have to put them down because there health is that bad and when I called to talk to the workers at the pet store they were very Un socialable saying that I can't bring even them back or return them but yet they give you a one week return incase anything goes wrong or is unhealthy with them or even if they messed up genders and yet they told me when I called that I can't even return them or bring them back in and that it was to much for them to take them to the vet like if it's to much for your pet store to take any animals to the vet to get checked out and to get treatment then why are you even open as a pet store? I would not recommend anyone to this pet store for anything including supplies and live animals I would go strictly to a breeder next time I get an animal because pet stores are absolutely terrible read more

Went here looking for tropical fish and they had an awesome selection. There was plenty of staff on hand but no one acknowledged me or if I needed help tonight. Two young girls were leaning on the counter gabbing it up with each other but didn't even ask if I found what I was looking for after being in store for over 20 minutes and walking out empty handed. The cages with animals were terribly overcrowded and much too small, and the animals showed signs of obvious stress. Rabbits should NEVER be kept on wire floor cages. The lovely little birds had bald spots from plucking out their feathers from stress. I would support this pet shop if they stopped selling live animals. This is the closest pet shop to me that has basically everything. They have supplies for my cats, supplies for my gliders, and supplies for my rabbit. One stop here, and I'm done with pet supplies! The staff if very friendly and helpful. The store is clean, but keep in mind it IS a pet store, it's gonna have a little funky smell to it. The prices are a little bit higher compared to the big box stores and to some other local pet stores, but the convenience for me is undeniable. Would recommend to anyone looking for a more diverse pet store! read more

Came here several years ago after the Melamine deaths from crappy imported garbage from China. Food here is much higher quality, cats and dogs love it, price is a little higher but I lost one of my dogs due to the cheap, imported Chinese food so its worth it. Also, food here is higher quality, little or no corn meal, animal parts and more "real"food. Some no-gluten products but haven't explored them because none of my animals have Celiac disease. Plenty of toys and some really cool animals (tropical frogs, tarantulas). No, I don't think my cat would like a tarantula to play with... read more

the first time I went in their I thought it was a so so place but when went their a second time and had a detailed look around (more so in the fish section then any ware else )which by the way is pretty well kept(no dead or sick fish that I saw ) and the betta section was pretty good this is the first store that I have seen that has there betta cups hocked up with an air pump (or pumps). There reptiles were in pretty good shape to (cages where nice and clean too) the small animal section was ok rabbits could be in a big cage though but other than that the rest of the cage were pretty cleaned and the animals looked healthy and happy. now the dried goods section for the fish was descent I actually found a battery powered air pump their and some other equipment that is rather hard to find. In the dried goods for the small animal was very good it included a hole lot of oxbow vitimine tablets which are very hard to find. All in all a decent stores I would defenly recommend them to any one who has small animals or fish. read more
