This company were not only very responsive, including the owner, but they did an outstanding job in reassuring us that our puppy was in great hands! We started by making an account and profile on Chloe and it was so easy and user friendly! We then chose our time of day we wanted them to come and our preferences of how many times and how long we wanted the pet sitter to stay. When everything was booked, we met Cassandra and Alisha and Chloe loved them RIGHT away! That was something my husband and I really liked, is that the sitters who would be watching her, met her prior to us going away. All of this happened in a span of 2 weeks since our original plans of who would watch Chloe fell through. During the trip, Cassandra and Alisha were AMAZING! We received email updates with pictures after every bedtime visit (we chose 3 visits a day with just one update but you can customize to however you want!). Those pictures and updates are what got us through the week! It was great because the girls not only cleaned up fuzz and animal pieces from her toys, but also helped clean the containers that had her food in them. During that week, Chloe was on a special diet of chicken and rice as well as medicine and a powder probiotic. the girls did WONDERFUL with managing that entire situation. Jessica, the owner was also beyond amazing for getting back to us so quickly when it was the day before we left for our vacation and she had to be put on all of this medicine and special diet. This company was amazing and we will most definitely be using them again in the future and going to be requesting the same 2 girls since Chloe loved them so much! The veterinarian recommended an X-ray and prescribed a steroid. The medication seemed to help, but a few days later, I was told that my cat likely had cancer and needed to see a specialist. I was hesitant because of the financial cost and the uncertainty surrounding the diagnosis, so I asked whether we could try other treatments first. After several conversations with the veterinarian, I was eventually convinced to take my cat to a specialist. Following additional testing, the specialist found no signs of cancer, lumps, or anything else supporting the original concern. Instead, I was told that my cat had allergies and that, if there had been another issue, the steroids had already resolved it. This experience caused months of unnecessary stress, thousands of dollars in expenses, missed time from work, and the emotional strain of believing my cat might have cancer. When I contacted Crossroads Animal Hospital afterward, they continued to stand by their assessment and offered little more than an apology. West Boston Vet was kind enough to help me recover some of the money I spent on testing that day. They also seemed to agree that bringing my cat in for those tests had been unnecessary. Based on my experience, I have serious concerns about Crossroads Animal Hospital's judgment and its ability to distinguish between a common condition such as allergies and something as serious as cancer. I understand that veterinary medicine involves uncertainty. However, suggesting such a devastating diagnosis without stronger evidence and then failing to meaningfully address the financial and emotional consequences showed a disappointing lack of care, accountability, and competence. Based on how my cat's case was handled, I strongly suggest other pet owners don't take their pets to Crossroads Animal Hospital.
