Accompanied our seven year old grandson, who was in search of a fish to add to his 10 gallon tank, to Fish Mike Aquatics today. Inasmuch as he was spending his own hard earned money, this was a very big decision which took 45 minutes. I think before he had made a determination, he had asked every single employee a multitude of questions. Each one was more than patient and very knowledgeable as to what fish would do well in his tank along with the fish he already had. Definitely a ten star experience. Thank you. read more

The customer service is horrible. I bought a couple fish about 48 hours ago and some of them got white spots and I searched online - it might be fungus. I drove 40mins (one way) to the store and the girl said "it looks ok to me". I asked can she switch the ones with the white spots, then she said "we can't take fish back especially you suspect that they are sick". I said "but you were sure they are not sick!" she went: "you can get 50% refund if we test your water, but can't be this water - it can't have any fish in it". At the end I gave up; I really cannot figure out her logic. I cannot afford another trip of 1.5 hours round-trip to send in water sample either. She even went "if they are sick, now all your fishes in the tank got it". - Very helpful. I am extremely disappointed as I have been with the store for more than 5 years. I only hope my other fishes in my tank did not get it read more

Just visited this store for the first time and it was incredible! Small store but packed with a large amount of fish, a decent amount of reptiles, and loads of fish supplies! As a new fish keeper, the employee helping me was thorough with walking me through all the supplies I needed (and why I needed them) without making me feel like a moron. Very patient with all my questions and very reasonable prices compared to even chain pet stores. Will be back! read more

Great shop, knowledgable staff, excellent service. I bought a ~40gal planted tank there for my kids and their staff had me up and running with the right hardware, plants and fish in no time. I also hired Mike to move the tank about 20 miles away for me when I bought a new house. I've been to this store 3 times and have had good experiences each time. I like supporting small businesses even if it means paying a slightly higher price, but at this shop I find the prices are very reasonable - if not better, than large retailers. Mikes given us some great advice for our saltwater aquariums (we are newly into the hobby) and we look forward to using this shop more regularly now that we know about it. His conure coco is pretty cool too. I also want to add that I left my wallet in the store with cash and credit cards on Black Friday and Mike went out of his way to contact me to let me know they had it. I've gone to basically every fish store within an hour or so of Nashua, NH and Fish Mike Aquatics is my new favorite. There's a great selection of freshwater fish, plants & invertebrates and some saltwater livestock too. The prices are great ($1 Neon Tetras everyday, all day) and if you need guidance Mike is extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. Also if something might be wrong with a fish and/or tank Mike will tell be up front with you about it so you don't have to worry about buying sick fish. Usually stocks a lot of uncommon fish and willing to special order specific fish for you. The store itself is small but jam-packed with food and supplies for your aquarium. A lot of the freshwater tanks don't share a main water supply which I like because it minimizes disease transfer between tanks. Unlike most fish stores, Mike is very active on social media where he posts about new fish deliveries he receives and if you have a question you can simply message him on Facebook and he'll answer you quickly. Clean store with a nice selection of freshwater fish, and a few saltwater. Some unusual freshwater plants for sale. Some stock of Fluval and Aquaclear parts., media, and other aquarium chemicals. The display tanks are nicely set up. Some terrarium related gear as well, and terrarium plants. Overall the store is small, but clean and nice. Definitely geared more towards the more experienced aquarium hobbyist, but I'm sure Mike could do a fine job setting up someone new as well. The owner is nice and obviously knows what he's talking about. Prices even on gear did not seem excessive. If it were bigger I'd give it five stars. Worth a visit for anyone in the aquarium hobby. read more
