I rented the large play room at the Derry NH location. I called at least 4 times during the week with questions. Each time I was told the dogs only needed rabies. I was like oh wow ok. She called the day before to add another dog to the reservation. That's what they told me they need distemper as well. That's fine as my dogs have them. However we did one dog at home and no longer have the picture of it. I told them and he said it will be fine this one time. So we got there and we were turned away. I understand have to keep everyone safe. That's fine. However when I am being told different things by different people that's when I have the issue. Took our 5 month old puppy there for puppy playtime to reunite with her sister that ended up in a home near us. Our 2 puppies were the only 2 in the play area. Puppies were excited to see each other and they were both leashed. The trainer insisted we let them off the leashes over and over again and said she would Intervene if they went at each other. After some hesitation we finally let them off and they were "fighting" trainer intervened and got a tiny scratch on the hand. We were then kicked out and our puppies were removed from the playtime schedule. 2 days later we find out the store reported both of our dogs to animal control. read more

I strongly warn any fish buyers to go elsewhere to buy fish. I've had aquariums for 38 years and presently have a 125, 55, 30, 20, and 2 10 gallon tanks. I'm not a novice. I monitor my tanks and have the complete water testing kit to monitor all conditions in the water. I had a catfish that lived to be 20 years old with a Tin Foil Barb that's presently 18 years old. I've had terrible luck with the fish from Woof Meow! I've bought Bettas there that didn't live long. The latest and last incident was today. I bought 4 Guppies on Sunday for a tank I care for at my chiropractor's office. I went back today to find them all dead. Something very wrong for all 4 fish to die in 72 hours. If fish were already stressed out, sick, or in poor condition before being introduced to a tank, even the best aquarium conditions may not keep them alive. I didn't realize Woof Meow's guarantee is only 48 hours so I'm out 20 bucks. PETSMART is 10 DAYS! I'll drive the extra miles from now on. read more

They are making last minute word of mouth rules, policy changes, then demanding money from customers like me, failure to provide an update or a written agreement in a timely manner. For this reason my dog was not allowed to have a Birthday Party there because I spoke up. They canceled my dogs party without contacting me before hand. This seems like a typical Yelp scam here. There are about 3 dozen glowing reviews that Yelp has filtered out. The staff has always been great to me. Every time I need something, they order it in for me. The rewards program is pretty awesome. I have gotten several $50.00 off coupons and other coupons. They have ordered in several live animals for me and all arrived in perfect health. Matt, one of the managers, is always helpful and if I ever have an issue he gets to the bottom of it quickly. Kyle, who runs the fish department, always orders in items for me, and calls the day it comes in to let me know. I try not to shop anywhere else for pet supplies. Some prices may be a bit higher, but I gladly pay it so I can support a local business and for their customer service. There was one employee I had an issue with, and she no longer works there. The only complaint I have is I wish they had more hunting dog supplies in stock like tri-tronics training collars. For my own personal reasons, I wish they had a larger turtle selection, but understand why they don't. read more

I let her know the woman I talked to said it would be no problem but she told me there was nothing she could do about it. So unprofessional and rude. I will never ever ever give my business to this place again. Things happen and I tried my best to be accommodating and calling to ask if it was okay that I would be late. The dogs love visiting and choosing cookies from the bakery. On our last visit we were able to get some much needed knowledge and advise from Matt on switching over our pups to new food options as required by allergies. He spent a big chunk of his (busy I am sure) day with us and told us everything we could want to know of our options. I went in to the store to pick up some cat food and while I was checking out I asked a sales associate if I could delete my dogs birthdays from my account. She looked at me with both a puzzled and annoyed look. She told me the birthday thing wasn't a big deal. I said I know, I just prefer if they were removed. She asked why and I told her that my dogs had both passed away. She clicked her computer for a few seconds before saying "you know, it might be your birthday in there instead." I knew or a fact it wasn't. I told her again that I wanted the birthdays out of her system. A woman walked by behind the counter. It was her boss who was obviously on her way out the door. The sales associate said "this lady wants to delete her dogs birthdays from her card because they.. uh.. died". Her boss said to go into the system and delete them, then left. The sales associate clicked a few more keys before looking up at me and saying "I can't delete them because yeah, it would be this whole big thing. Sorry." Yeah, you should be sorry! You work at a pet store and you can't pretend to emphasize with a grieving customer. This store isn't out of this world. I go to it when I absolutely need something, otherwise it's a waste of time. It's got a decent selection for all kinds of animals, and products. However, everything is very pricy. Every time we go in since they've been open, something in the store has moved, or changed. They never seem to be completely happy with any of the layouts they chose for the store. For being named Woof Meow, you would think they have a lot of cat and dog stuff. But don't be fooled, there's actually much more bird stuff than anything in this store. But don't get me wrong it's a pretty big store. Not overly impressed with the animals they breed, or the care in with they present them to customers. Too many animals are stuffed into small cages. None of the rabbits or guinea pigs are given a sufficient amount of hay! Which makes me incredibly sad. They also don't offer them any houses which stresses the pets out, especially guinea pigs. I've been around employees while they get animals for other customers and they're not very knowledgable. They never try and sell 2 guinea pigs to a customer, especially with there deal for buy a cage get a free guinea pig that I often see. Guinea pigs need to be sold in pairs, or at least make the new owners aware. They also need to let them know about their vitamin C deficiency and how they need vegetables often. Overall, unless you're in real need of an item, or you can't find something anywhere else, I wouldn't suggest them. Over priced. Staff is often young rude teens with little to no experience with animals. Animals aren't treated with as much respect as they should be. Great place if you have a bird though, they seem to have everything under the sun for them. read more

We have used Woof Meow for our dog food since they opened. They have always been helpful in getting us anything we needed from higher shelves, etc.. they always seem to have a different dog food rep in on the weekends and their managers seem to be knowledgeable about the food they sell. We are glad to be able to get high ends food in Derry and also buy hand baked cookies for our dogs :) Comparing Woof Meow to Pet Edge is unfair since Pet Edge has a clearance store in Ma and are a bulk dog supply store via catalog so their prices are meant for resale. Lots of retail stores stock their shelves from Pet Edge. We signed up for their points program and constantly get coupons in our e-mail for recommending other sign up, shopping, etc... so far we have always saved on our dog food when we purchased here. I have not used them for doggie daycare/ training so I can't review that part of their business. We use private daycare or The Barking Dog for those needs. I believe this store has lots of potential for the area especially since not many stores local carry high end dog food, raw food, raw treats, and fresh baked dog cookies. Only other store with some of the brands they sell in the area is in Londonderry near crossroads animal hospital and they are higher priced. Business just opened a year ago so I'm hoping their growing pains are getting sorted out. Yes, the prices are high but I can't get the dog food I buy at Walmart or Hannaford, and the location is very convenient. The selection is enormous, and I was able to find a special leash for my senior dog that I figured would need to be ordered online (it provides hind leg support). The bird room is really interesting and fun for my son to visit. I am in love with the Toucanettes-they make the cutest little noises. The staff seems very well versed on the different birds and will take them out of the cages for you to interact with. My husband likes the big blue parrot or whatever it is, but he is 16k. He visits it every time we go in, and the bird definitely loves the attention and likes to be pet. I don't think he will be going anywhere anytime soon at that price, so they can continue to be friends! They have a point system you can enroll in, and so far so great. I have gotten quite a few coupons already, including an immediate one upon sign up. And you don't need to remember the coupon-they can look it up by phone number, yay! Best deal so far: a bright pink Snuggie for my Weimaraner...on clearance for $1.00!! My husband says my dog is mortified to wear it but I think she loves it! read more

This is for the dover location. Although the dog food is priced respectably, the cat food and toys are sparce and priced very high. They have an awesome cookie selection and numerous bird and rodent toys although also priced very high. They have a reward program which helps with $5 off here and there. I go here cause they have my dogs food brand. That being said....the thing that bothers me most of all and that I warn all of you out there....the children working there have no knowledge of how to house or take care of the rodents that they sell. And there are some animals there that really need a well knowledgeable team to educate people before that animal goes to a random home. But I guess it's all just for making money huh? Everything that I have ever price checked from WoofMeow is generally on par with the big chain stores. But their sales are phenomenal! My dog loves bully sticks, and on one trip here to get bird seed, the 12" sticks were only $1, when they typically retail for $8+! It's definitely worth browsing the sections for animals you have, as there's always something on sale for a great price. The bird section is amazing, and this is one of the few stores around that carries dove food, which is a major plus! The cages for most birds are smaller than they should be, but not by much, which is fairly understandable, since they are supposed to be temporary. Although, I doubt they move their expensive birds fast enough for the small cages to be acceptable for them, so I think that's an area for improvement. I have never seen any employees mishandle any animals, in the hours I have spent here overall. I also have not seen any round bird cages offered for sale, which is incredibly responsible! The fish section, which is usually my favorite in any other store, is honestly a bit disappointing. I haven't spoken to a single employee who seems to really understand anything about fish (I asked for guppies, an incredibly standard fish, and got a blank stare), and the selection is very standard. There are a few beautiful tanks with plants I asked about purchasing, only to be told that they are not for sale, and no live plants are carried or could be ordered. It's so disappointing to see a plant you've been looking for, only to be told it isn't for sale, and can't be ordered. Overall, the store is great for bird supplies and for the occasional items on sale, but the employees (aside from the managers) rarely know much about the specifics of keeping animals. The selection of items for most species is great, although they have nothing but the most standard gear for fish. If you're looking for something for birds, dogs, or cats, they probably have it, but you're better off elsewhere for fish supplies. I personally haven't been here since I started owning reptiles, and I haven't spent much time in the rodent section, so I cannot comment on those. Worth a look around if you need something specific, but if you're looking to browse for a unique species or decoration for an aquarium, you're better off elsewhere. read more

On my first visit to woof meow I was totally impressed with the staff I met along my way through the store. They were so very friendly and helpful. I was so impressed with how caring they are towards the animals they care for in the store and how much knowledge they have about them. The area I was most drawn to was the birds. You can tell how much they love working with them, and how dedicated they are to their care. Any questions that you have, they are willing to answer. The store is very clean and well kept up with, which I'm sure can be challenging as many pets walk through it daily. Because my first visit, as well as the ones following were so impressive that I ended up buying two birds which I love dearly. I visit the store almost daily once again as I'm in the process of buying the second bird. I rarely do business with Petco or Petsmart anymore due to the fact that the staff here has been so amazing each time I have been in. I have had bad experience with Petco in the past. In the process of getting the two birds, I have dealt primarily with Aaron, Big Matt, and Little Matt, who all have been phenomenal!!! Hello, I USED to like this pet store. They have lots of variety of animal supplies. I rate this store so low because I recently bought 3 fish, 2 fancy tail guppies and 1 catfish. The catfish didn't last 12 hours the catfish barely moved once I exited the store. Now the 2 fancy tail guppies, the first one died the same time as my catfish. It has been a week since I purchased the fish. All 6 of my neon guppies have died. The neons were my first fish that I got for my tank they were alive for over 8 months... After I bought the 3 fish most of my fish have died. I predict by next week I will have 3 fish left :,(... I strongly do NOT recommend this store for fish or buying live pets. read more

It's really nice on the inside, and the selection in there is excellent. There's so many nice fish, reptiles, and there's a lot of birds. The selection was pretty great here, even though the prices were pretty high. However, for convenience I often waived that. The staff here I've found is overall... not great, but definitely there are a few good ones. I remember I was in a rush and I asked someone to help me find a few things for my fish, and he got it all back to me in a snap, which was great. That's pretty much my last great experience with them. I've heard a lot of misinformation from the staff there, and its on pretty novice issues, mostly enclosure size and food choices. And for the food choices, some could cause potentially deadly deficiencies or overdoses. However, this isn't uncommon in most pet stores, just make sure you do your research before you try to buy a pet. I've had them be rude to me before, and I find them pretty unapproachable since some of them will chat nonstop with a coworker, even if you walk right up to them. The staff situation made me feel alienated though, so I go elsewhere. It's not worth paying more to get what is usually subpar service. I haven't experienced anything to make me give the store less than two stars, and I don't think I'll be in to experience anything of the sort. read more

We went in specifically to use the dog wash. That was super easy to use and beat using the bathtub (which we can no longer use because it breaks our back). If you like your dog to have a specific scent after being cleaned I recommend your own shampoo, theirs definitely cleaned our dog but the after scent is meh. They did have towels to use that was definitely convenient but I think I'd bring my own in the future too as there were not a ton of them and quite a few wanted to wash their dogs. The staff was nice, not overly enthusiastic but not rude. When the hook-up to the dog bath came undone they came in quickly and fixed it while we were still cleaning our dog. The product selection was better than any we've ever seen, even at the big box stores, but the prices were higher too. We also visited the bakery and got a few treats for our dog. I felt the homemade treats were comparable to others I've gotten in the past. Overall, we'll definitely be back to wash our pet again. They do carry our dog food but they aren't terribly close to our home so I'm not sure we'll be regular customers for them in that regard. If we lived closer we probably would be though. read more

I don't buy my cat food here because it is $1+/can less at Petco. I also don't really shop around the store so I can't truly comment on the selection of products they offer. Nor do I explore the aquatics, avian, live pet section of the store. They do have a DIY dog wash which is cool! I will say that the customer service is lacking. Not bad, but not really existing.
