Shop owner is very very kind. He has been helpful to me as I first became a cat dad and helped figure out what I need. Good selection of cat & dog toys, treats, brushes, carriers, litterboxes, litter, litter scoops, meal toppers. also has frozen pet food. dental products & flea products. Also I take care of a cat colony which visits my roof daily- and he has been extremely helpful with that. Has gone out of his way to help ensure they are fed. His store cat Beau is gorgeous and has the most beautiful coat. He likes to jump on your shoulders and monitor the neighborhood. Thanks !! read more

Great pet store, had so many types of dog food and toys, as well as carriers and crates. Very helpful owner, who was there with his son. Great local family business! The owner was super nice to my dog and helped me find the right supplies. He gave me some good recommendations and didn't upsell anything. I'm definitely coming back! read more

Pets on the Run - Happy with his new toys - Pet Stores Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

Nice shop to get stuff for your pet. I was shopping for a puppy and i was happy to see the variety of different toys and leashes here. Inexpensive and good quality and very nice customer service. Definitely recommend if you are in the neighborhood! read more

It's not the biggest pet store but they have a good variety of cat food. The guy behind the counter is nice and knowledgeable.

Sure the place could be bigger yada yada... Some people on Yelp are just too anal. This is SUPPOSED TO BE a local mom and pop store, one of the many Green Point is lucky to still have. Go live in Manhattan if you want a giant store with way too much product and fancy lights posters posters and displays everywhere. For me personally I love running into this place and grabbing an old standby or learning about a new brand my dogs might like. And the owner is super friendly. Humble-proud. In a cool way. No stuck up, skanky fancy-wannabe chicks in 3 inch heels walking around this quaint store more interested in getting discovered or being seen than being of service. Just an middle aged man and a surprisingly large supply of a million different dog and cat foods and such. All at great prices. Make this your new pet supply go to joint. You'll love it. read more

Pets on the Run, while not the fanciest, cheapest, or most nationwide pet store in Greenpoint, is a neighborhood gem. Every time I'm in there, at least one local stops by to chat with the owner (Zohar?), who is almost apologetically nice. I myself will wander in for the sole purpose of playing with their irrepressibly cute gray kitten. (To whoever clipped his whiskers off last month: if I find you, I will beat you senseless with a rawhide bone.) Anyway! For those of us who try to win our cats' affection with human-grade, melamine-free foodstuffs, Pets on the Run is packed with premium bribe material; Evo, Wellness, Innova, and Before Grain are always in stock. If you strive to improve their litterbox experience, you'll also find a _fantastic_ assortment of non-clay litters; I discovered a green tea-based litter here that I never want to be without. Most of the stuff that isn't food, litter, or treats is high up on a shelf or behind the register, so if you don't see it, just ask; as someone noted below, if they don't have it they will happily order it for you. read more

+ It's across the street from me - varying availability of BFF food + it's across the street from me - BFF is 10 cents more expensive than at Pet Central + they adopt cats regularly + store owners are sweethearts + it's across the street from me + i also like falafel [grill & greens] read more

Not the best pet supply business in the neighborhood. It's good when you're in a pinch and need to grab something quick, but otherwise I say go somewhere else. Like other reviewers have mentioned I have also bought expired or damaged goods on a few occasions. I once bought a can of Merrick cat food that was punctured and when I went to open it the contents were rancid. Think cat food has an unappealing perfume? Well, spoiled cat food makes you want to vomit. A word of warning, if you do shop here check the expiration date before you make a purchase. I don't think they have very high turnover which may explain the old stock and lack of variety. read more

small and cramped but they have lots of stuff including food, treats, litter, toys, collars, toys, etc. prices are about as high as you'd expect. the name implies this is a place for busy pets. and i've never met a busy pet. so it's clearly meant to cater to busy pet owners. but Pet Owners On The Run is rather clunky. the end. read more

I used to get my dog's food here, I don't anymore. I got a $72 bag of food with a hole in the bottom. Also, I've seen the same 33lb bag of food in that store for over a year now -- yes, dog food does expire. Especially when we are talking about ultra premium kibble. Also, I requested 2 weeks in advance they order the food my dog needs, and they forgot. I went down the street and had them order it, it was here in 2 days, and $7 cheaper. Too bad. read more

A great pet store, big selection and helpful staff. They've offered to special order items they didn't have, and everyone there is very friendly and knowledgeable. read more

This is the best pet store i have ever been to. It isn't the nicest or the most organized but it does have exactly what i need for the price that i want. I recently decided to change pet foods because i wasn't happy with the one i was using and i have to say they have the best prices for wellness Cat food that i have seen and considering that this is a very rare brand of cat food to find in stores to say the least, i was overjoyed. They also carry the Wellness cat treats and dry food which is even harder to find and to top it all off they are one block from my apartment. I freaken love this place and so do my two adorable kitties who will have the best food from now on :) read more

Pets on the Run packs a lot of pet supplies into a fairly small space. I'm not really familiar with the selection of goods for dogs, but they carry a wide variety of cat food brands. Unfortunately, they don't have a big selection of flavors in the brands I usually buy for my cats, so I generally only stop in to pick up a few cans when I can't make it to my regular pet store. read more

Super convenient, very helpful and friendly people who shower my pup with love and give him treats. I can't walk by the store with my dog dragging me inside to say hello to the cats and get a treat! read more

I love this neighborhood gem with the nicest staff. I too can't walk by without my dog dragging me in for an always warm greeting and treats! read more

Yay!!!!! This store's great! The owners are wonderful! My favorite pet store in the neighborhood great prices

Don't let the size of the store deter you, for years I have been finding what is needed for my cat here--a great neighborhood store. The owner is super friendly and has a love of animals (obvious by how well his resident cats are loved) and gives helpful product recommendations if needed. What is best is that he also has in stock the healthier premium brands of raw foods---which is not easy to find in the neighborhood. Highly recommended! read more

This place has what I need for my pets, but is totally overpriced. You pay on average about $3 less for various items (cat litter, toys, etc) when you trek over to Dupont Street to Animal Planet...who, by the way, also delivers and has kitties in store. read more

I believe in supporting all the little moms n pops places in Greenpoint, local pharmacies, bakeries, small grocery stores and this place. I've been coming to Pets on the Run ever since I moved to Greenpoint 2 years ago. It's not cheap but I do it for the good deed. The other day I ordered my cat's food on amazon because I was traveling, only to find out my cat doesn't eat this flavor. Not to let the $30 go to waste I ask the owner of this place if he would be nice enough to trade the flavors with me (he sells this exact stuff and I was kind of hoping he would give me a little recognition for supporting his business) but in return he was kind of rude about it. "I can't take everything that's bought on the internet" he says and I get it, trust me, but the packaging is all intact, clearly says amazon on the plastic enclosure and again I've been coming here for so long, dropping $30, 40, at times $50 at a time. read more

Great little pet store run by caring and wonderful people. They always have a foster cat or kitten there waiting for adoption as well. They also deliver. read more

Absolutely love this place! They have really fantastic options for dogs and puppies -- more so than I have seen in Williamsburg, Fort Greene, and Bushwick. Definitely one of the best pet stores around -- great customer service and recommendations. Very friendly staff. I now travel here even though there are 2 pet stores closer to my home/work -- because this store is awesome!! read more

The people that run the shop are really sweet! They always remember my name and have all the kinds of pet food that I need AND they're right around the corner. Doesn't get any better than that! =^) read more
