Good location in Grandview. Friendly and helpful staff. Store is clean and well organized and staff are eager to walk you around, take you to, and make recommendations. Parking can be tight but I usually park across the street at the old big lots/giant eagle lot and walk across if there are no spaces available. Went to the store at McCandless Crossing, Pittsburgh PA for the first time today. I left PetSmart very frustrated after not receiving the assistance I was looking for. The staff at Hollywood Feed were amazing. They fitted my dog for a harness and made her ID tag for me. . The unfriendly manager at PetSmart couldn't help me with that! Stopped in while on a dog walk to check out replacement leads. First things first, dogs on leash are very welcome here and the staff are super friendly about it. This store tends to be a little higher end and I feel the prices are a bit reflective of this. There is a great merchandise selection and wide variety of items for cats, dogs, and other pets. As of September 2021, there is a pet tag machine available in store. This is a fantastic service and I like to give shout outs and kudos to any store that offers it - so many times I see or hear about lost pets not having tags on. It is a very basic thing, relatively inexpensive and everyone who is a pet owner should attend to it - EVEN IF your pet is an inside always animal. A door or window cracked open for a moment can be an escape route and once they're out... well, you get the idea. So thanks for offering this in-store service! There are usually dog treats right up front for purchase and I will say that their offerings usually are pretty fancy. Ultimately I left without purchasing a new lead but they did have quite a few very nice & good ones to choose from. Very friendly staff and understanding towards dog behavior. I liked that they respected my dogs space and didn't run up to try to pet her. It is a mom and pop sort of shop and prices are unfortunately on the high end. But I like to throw them my business for small purchases like a new toy. read more

I have been going to this location for years. The staff is friendly and I prefer to support local businesses. After a vet check up I stopped in to look for grain inclusive dog food, as per her recommendation. I asked the staff if they had anything but the grain free. She smirked at me. I commented that I'm trusting my vet for advice on nutrition. She pointed to the next aisle. I payed for my food at the register. My dog is usually offered a treat. No treat. This is a very well kept pet store. Some that I have been in before smell like pets, but not Pet People. They do a fantastic job of making sure spills are immediately cleaned and that all toys and treats are out of the aisles. I am always greeted upon entering, always a sign of good service. Being a regular now, I streamline to the Innova large, green bag. Hoist is over my shoulder and head to the register. Me being be, gets distracted walking through the treat and toy aisle. Hmm, kind of like my dog. Ce la vie for me! I stray for no longer than 10 seconds before an employee comes to my shoulder's rescue, taking the 40 pounder to the register where is waits for me and the 5 other very much unneeded chew toys, bones, and doggie jerkey. The best part of the shopping experience is the service to the end...they offer and insist upon carrying my enormous purchase to my car for me. Top that! read more

I love this store! This is the best pet store I have ever been to. The staff are absolutely wonderful, kind, helpful, and they genuinely care about your pets! I brought in my skittish 4 month Weimaraner to get him exposed to different environments (and to spoil him rotten with toys, of course)-- the staff was so helpful in getting him acclimated to the store and gave him endless treats, attention, and love. They are very knowledgeable about their products. The only down side are the prices, but what the pricing lacks they make up for in service and quality! read more

This store has a nice selection of pet supplies and the employees are better than most. But the prices here can be an outright rip-off. I purchased a packet of 30 pill pockets for $11.99 which seemed kind of high at the time. Looking online for a better price I found that it typically sells for $5.99 or HALF of what Pet People charges. The list price is $9.99 so they are selling well above list price. I also bought a large bag of dry food. The dry dog food price was in line with others sellers and reasonable. I appreciate a well stocked, friendly and convenient store but I can't justify the prices they charge on some products. I'm thinking three stars cause I'm mad but they do have a nice store and other people seem to like them a lot. So I'll do three and a half stars rounded up to four. I love this store! I have been coming here for the past two months after adopting my first dog. The workers are always incredibly helpful and answer all my questions. They are super knowledgeable and I regularly take their recommendations. From giving free samples, to allowing me to try different harnesses on my dog, they have gone above and beyond the average pet store. You walk into Pet People and get a warm hello. Then, they'll ask you if you know what you need or need any help. Then, I tell them the food I'm looking to get. Then they go back and grab it and bring it to the register. They'll make sure I am educated on the food I'm buying, which is nice if I'm switching things up. Don't forget to use your pet peeps card and your frequent buyer card! (I just earn $5 off and a free pound of organic treats for my pups) Then, they carry the food out to your car. This is the kind of service I get every time I go into Pet People. You can't find this kind of service at any other pet store in the city (that I know of). Pet People are my go-to pet store and one of the two companies that carry Orijens dog food that my dogs love to eat. Their prices are competitive and they have a decent clearance section of toys, cheweys, and treats, and sometimes food. Their staff is beyond knowledgeable and helpful and that is priceless. read more

They go out of their way to greet you and are more than happy answer any questions you may have. They've got everything we've ever needed and more. Yes, they are more expensive than your big box stores, but you'll never find anyone to help you or answer any of your questions at those places! One of a very few stores that carry the food I feed my babies. Nice selection of premium foods. Prices on the dry food are in line with what other stores charge, made somewhat cheaper with their 13th bag free offer. They also sometimes send ten dollar discount coupons through the mail, which I always seem to misplace. Toys and supplies can be pretty expensive, but I usually purchase these elsewhere online if possible. Attentive staff and they always offer to carry my large bags to the car for me. read more

I shop here pretty regularly as I foster dogs and we hold a monthly adoption event for our rescue. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable and give honest tips and advice. I feel comfortable recommending them to any of my friends with pets and trust that they won't give me tips on something they are not familiar with. I purchased a toy that was guaranteed to not break and one of my fosters chewed through it in ten minutes. Pet People had no issue with exchanging it for another toy. read more

Moved to Grandview in December and only just got around to going inside and checking out PetPeople a week or so ago. Having a new puppy means frequent trips to pet stores though, so having one so close to home is a god send. The second time I stopped in I took Katniss (said new puppy) with me. The people were so friendly with her and helpful to me. They helped me find her favorite brand of food (it's a harder one to find), some treats that will work well for training, and even a fun new toy. So, while their cat selection is lacking a little in the brands we normally use, the dog section makes up for it. read more

I have been to this store several times and like their selection of high quality foods, treats, toys, etc. The employees jump you at the door to help. The thing is, the prices are very high. I tend to purchase clearance treats for my dogs here, nothing full price. My main issue is at check out, when they ask if I want to try some samples of the most expensive food they sell (Orijen) and then ask what I feed, as if it's lower quality because I don't buy it from them. I don't appreciate that when I tell them I buy my high-quality, grain free food (that they carry in store) from my groomer that they look at me like I'm cheap and not treating my dogs well. I do my research, read my ingredient panel, and am extremely careful about what I feed my dogs. I do not appreciate them trying to upsell me every time I walk in the door. read more
