When I called K9 Cars, I was pleasantly surprised to reach a human who was able to schedule the ride and assure me what kind of vehicle would be provided- a large carpeted van. This was exactly what my hard-to-transport broken legged girl needed. Not only did K9 Cars arrive on time, they were early. This allowed us to get her directly into the van from the hospital gurney with no waiting, which was perfect. The van also had enough room in the back for my husband to be right next to my girl to reassure her during the ride. Tony, our driver, couldn't have been kinder, which was reassuring after the trauma of her hospital stay (no fault of the hospital- it's just that breaking a leg is awful). Initially, Alice was hesitant because I was traveling to Brooklyn from JFK during rush hour, but nonetheless she made the arrangements for my transport, and I'm so grateful she did! The morning I arrived, Alice texted to let me know that she was at the airport, which alleviated my fears of a "no show" as I had read on other pet taxi company reviews. Alice drove me to the cargo building to pick up my animals, and helped disassemble the dog crate to fit in the car. I could tell instantly that Alice truly cares about the animals and making us all feel comfortable in our new surroundings. We chatted on the way to my destination, and Alice gave this new New Yorker some tips for living in the city. When we got to my stop, Alice waited in the car with the animals while I got my keys and took all my belongings up to the apartment. She was so patient and seemed concerned that all was well before leaving me on my own, which I really appreciated! Moving to new city alone was very daunting, and I knew that getting to my apartment with the animals would be challenging. Alice made getting from the airport to my new home easy and enjoyable. On leaving, she said I could call her for anything, which made me feel like I'd made my first friend in this big city. Joanna responded immediately and she also was able to get a hold of a couple of strong volunteers to help lift our dog into the cab. She swiftly transported us to the ER where Joanna got out of the cab and made sure that personnel brought a gurney for my shepherd who could not walk & was promptly admitted. Joanna was so caring and kind during this terribly upsetting time. I had to call upon her again when our shepherd was discharged a week later and had to be brought to the vets for medical boarding. Joanna also sent her son to transport us and he is a truly lovely young man and equally as helpful. I again called upon Joanna when our Shepard needed to go to AMC for a check up and transportation back to the vets for another week of medical boarding. Pet Cab was so prompt so professional so caring Joanna is simply the greatest. and I will be calling upon her again because our dog. will need further transport. Transporting an 84 pound German shepherd is not an easy task and requires a lot of assistance and Joanna was always able to find assistance since neither of us could lift such a large dog. I simply cannot say enough good things about Pet Cab as a company they are reasonable reliable and just such lovely people. I very highly recommend them to anyone who needs to transport an animal.
