Initially, Alice was hesitant because I was traveling to Brooklyn from JFK during rush hour, but nonetheless she made the arrangements for my transport, and I'm so grateful she did! The morning I arrived, Alice texted to let me know that she was at the airport, which alleviated my fears of a "no show" as I had read on other pet taxi company reviews. Alice drove me to the cargo building to pick up my animals, and helped disassemble the dog crate to fit in the car. I could tell instantly that Alice truly cares about the animals and making us all feel comfortable in our new surroundings. We chatted on the way to my destination, and Alice gave this new New Yorker some tips for living in the city. When we got to my stop, Alice waited in the car with the animals while I got my keys and took all my belongings up to the apartment. She was so patient and seemed concerned that all was well before leaving me on my own, which I really appreciated! Moving to new city alone was very daunting, and I knew that getting to my apartment with the animals would be challenging. Alice made getting from the airport to my new home easy and enjoyable. On leaving, she said I could call her for anything, which made me feel like I'd made my first friend in this big city. I will absolutely be using Canine Car for all my pet transportation needs, and I know Max will be excited to see his "Auntie Alice"!

When I called K9 Cars, I was pleasantly surprised to reach a human who was able to schedule the ride and assure me what kind of vehicle would be provided- a large carpeted van. This was exactly what my hard-to-transport broken legged girl needed. Not only did K9 Cars arrive on time, they were early. This allowed us to get her directly into the van from the hospital gurney with no waiting, which was perfect. The van also had enough room in the back for my husband to be right next to my girl to reassure her during the ride. Tony, our driver, couldn't have been kinder, which was reassuring after the trauma of her hospital stay (no fault of the hospital- it's just that breaking a leg is awful). It was such a relief considering our last experience with a different pet cab service (who showed up 45 minutes late). I had a dire emergency with our 84 lb German Shepherd who had suddenly become virtually paralyzed…read more I called Pet Cab to take us to the ER at the animal medical center. Joanna responded immediately and she also was able to get a hold of a couple of strong volunteers to help lift our dog into the cab. She swiftly transported us to the ER where Joanna got out of the cab and made sure that personnel brought a gurney for my shepherd who could not walk & was promptly admitted. Joanna was so caring and kind during this terribly upsetting time. I had to call upon her again when our shepherd was discharged a week later and had to be brought to the vets for medical boarding. Joanna also sent her son to transport us and he is a truly lovely young man and equally as helpful. I again called upon Joanna when our Shepard needed to go to AMC for a check up and transportation back to the vets for another week of medical boarding. Pet Cab was so prompt so professional so caring Joanna is simply the greatest. and I will be calling upon her again because our dog. will need further transport. Transporting an 84 pound German shepherd is not an easy task and requires a lot of assistance and Joanna was always able to find assistance since neither of us could lift such a large dog. I simply cannot say enough good things about Pet Cab as a company they are reasonable reliable and just such lovely people. I very highly recommend them to anyone who needs to transport an animal.

Absolutely the worst dog groomer I've ever used in NYC…read more My dog has been professionally groomed once a month for the past 8 years, and any competent groomer knows what a Lhasa Apso haircut should look like. I sent multiple reference photos and clearly said do not shave him. Lhasa Apsos have a double coat, and shaving it can permanently damage the texture. Guess what they did? They shaved my dog. Then they actually tried to argue that he looked like the photos I sent. In what universe? My dog has always had a round face, and they shaved his face down. The owner did call to apologize, but even then she wouldn't admit the haircut looked nothing like the reference photos. Now I'm stuck hoping his coat grows back properly. Shaving a Lhasa Apso changes the coat texture, which leads to matting as it grows back, not to mention it makes him vulnerable to overheating, sun damage, and skin irritation. Any experienced groomer knows this. Beyond that, the place smells terrible. There's no one at the front desk, and you don't get to see where they take your dog or how clean (or dirty) the grooming area actually is. I completely regret bringing my dog here. I only tried this place because we just moved to the neighborhood and our usual groomer is farther away. Lesson learned -- the Uber ride to the Upper East Side is worth it, because this never would have happened at Canine Styles. I will not be coming back.

Soon after, I noticed several worms on my floor and wool carpet. I immediately took the stick away and found it was crawling with worms. During that same purchase, I also bought a bag of ACANA CHEWY TENDERS, which the staff had recommended. After discovering the worms in the bully stick, I checked the package of treats and saw that the Best Before Date was 17/11/2024. Considering I bought it on the evening of 11/14, that only gave us three days to use the product before it expired! While it's possible that the staff were unaware of the issue with the bully stick, knowingly selling a product with such a short shelf life is unacceptable. I went back to the store to request a full refund for both items, but the staff/owner refused. They argued that the treats were still fine because a large dog could finish them in a single day and mentioned that since I bought them at a 50% discount, I should bear the responsibility. What upset me the most was their complete lack of concern--they didn't apologize for the worms or even ask if my dog was okay after chewing on the infested stick. Their cold attitude toward animals and rude behavior left me very disappointed. For us, it's not about the money; it's about being a responsible retailer. If you shop there, please be vigilant and thoroughly check any products before giving them to your pets! I prefer supporting small local businesses over big-box stores, but this experience has made me rethink that choice.

They play, they socialize, they get cuddles, and by the time they're home they're exhausted I also want to say I have the two smallest dogs that attend daycare regularly, and have had 0 issues with larger dog's temperaments (if tiny dog owners had the same question/concern as me). The seasonal photoshoots have to be one of my favorite perks/services - Beth is incredible at 1) having the dogs stay calm and focused for the picture 2) creating awesome seasonal backdrops/sets 3) taking the actual pictures 4) editing them! The quality of pictures is something my friends and family always comment on. See for yourself! I've also utilized drop off services when I've been unable to pick my babies up before close and have had 0 issues as well. My dog was bit by another dog at this facility by a dog they knew was aggressive but since the owners claimed to give him CBD he was allowed in the facility?...
