I called Peter's Appliance on Saturday morning, 14 Aug 2025 when our 2002 Amana refrigerator quit. No one else answered their phone. Peter came after a long workday at 5 p.m., said our compressor had failed, advised us that a new compressor would last better than our last one had, and noted that the rest of the fridge was in excellent shape. So we agreed on a new compressor, and Peter installed it the following Monday. His price was very reasonable. In the future, I will always call Peter for appliance problems. He is apparently someone you can count on and knows his business. read more

I am disappointed by this company. We called and set up an appointment and were told he couldn't come for a week. When he did come, late and after the time window they gave, he told us what we already knew--that the dishwasher electrical panel was broken--and charged us 80 dollars for the service call. He didn't do ANYTHING, not take it apart, not inspect it carefully, not even try flipping the breaker. He quoted over $300 for the part to fix it, plus more with labor. I was disappointed to be charged $80 for a service call where no service was performed. Service here is bad, late, and unhelpful. We will not call again. read more

After 5 weeks!! of getting the run around about my washing machine and the parts they needed, (Called them about 25 times and always got the same response: I have to talk to my technician and I'll call you back...) they scheduled my appointment to fix the machine. Then they called to reschedule for the next day...Saturday between 5-8 pm. AND THEY NEVER SHOWED! And to make matters worse, they never called me the next week to apologize and reschedule. I'm a sucker for waiting for them for 5 weeks. 5 weeks of lugging my families laundry to the laundromat. That's expensive people! Don't be like me. Use someone else. read more

I don't even give them one star. They sell broken appliances and pretend to fix and charge for it. They don't accept any returns and don't issue any refund even the appliance you bought 3 days ago stops working. They don't care about customers. What they say is "it's under 5 months warranty and we can keep fixing it for free." So what happens after the warranty expires????? My fridge has bad moldy smell in freezer and got so much frost and ice that fridge doesn't get cold even it's on coldest because of the frost and ice in freezer. Peter came to fix that but he didn't even remove back panel to see the frost. It took only 3 days to get all frost and ice in freezer. Not even a month since I bought the fridge, it stopped working completely. It's just a trash. It just takes room in my kitchen. I strongly recommend to NOT buy anything from them. They rip you off. They are more interested in money than in public relations or repeat customers which I will not come back. read more

I had a GE Microwave that went out. I liked the Microwave so I took it to Peter's Appliance on 7/5/2023. They called with a price of $254 to repair it. I gave them the okay and I was able to get it three weeks later. I put it back under the kitchen cabinet and I went to use it, it sounded a little funny but after about a minute of reheating some food it just went out. Like there was no power. Yet after about 30 minutes the display came back on and I had to reset the clock and the date. I reheated again and it did the very same thing. I returned it to Peter's so we are talking about 8/15/2023. Since then I have called at least 6 times to see if they have repaired it. Each time I get an excuse about how busy they are and now 11/18/2023 I ordered a new microwave from Best Buy and I paid $246. I asked for my money back and I would come and get the microwave. They would not give me my money back and they have NEVER called me back, not one time. I would NEVER use these guys EVER!!!! read more

I feel like I got ripped off by this company. Christopher came out to look at our fridge. He removed a covering in the back of the fridge and looked at it for a minute and then said he needed to order a part. He never tested to see if the part was working or not, just looked at it. The visit lasted maybe 15 minutes or so. He charged $68 for the visit and said it would be applied to the installation when the part came in. He had be Venmo the payment to some lady. That should have been a clue. Christopher said that he would be back the following Tuesday. He never showed. I didn't have his number so the only place to call was the main office. As others have mentioned, the receptionist was clueless, didn't know anything about a part being ordered or a return visit by Christopher. When I pressed her to call Christopher to get the information, she promised me 4 different times over the next 2 weeks to call me back before the end of the day and never once kept her promise. The final time, I told them to forget it and I would take care of it myself, writing off the $68 I paid as a lesson learned. I ordered the part and had it 2 days later and installed it. It didn't fix the problem. A week later, I got a call from the receptionist saying that the part had finally come in, 3 weeks after the initial visit. I reminded her that I had cancelled my engagement with them, but out of curiosity, asked why it took so long to get the part when I was able to get it within two days. She didn't have an answer. Maybe Peter does good work based upon other reviews, but be wary of getting ripped off if Christopher shows up as others have warned. Also, you can not rely on anything told you by the receptionists who are handling the phones. read more

We bought a used refrigerator from Peter, and it's been the nicest one we've ever owned. It had an issue that caused it not to get as cold as it should have, so Peter came to our place and fixed it. Very sharp guy, knows his stuff, nice to deal with. The fridge has been great ever since. read more

Not a good experience - poor customer service, doesn't call you back, doesn't show up when scheduled. When they did arrive, I went ahead with a suggested repair that didn't correct the problem. I called to reschedule a follow-up visit and ended up with the same poor service all over again. The issue has still not been resolved. I cannot recommend Peter's Appliance. read more

when I called to make an appointment for a washer repair the woman scheduling was not very friendly. then scheduled an appt for 3 days later with a window of 3 hours (5-8pm). I waited at home for NO ONE to show up or call. How unprofessional and extremely frustrating. so thankful that I didn't pay anything and can now give my business to someone who wants it. read more

BUYERS BEWARE! This company has poor customer service, with the owner not returning phone calls. We bought a fridge and it only last for a year before the compressor broke. They offered to fix it for several hundred dollars. We had questions about a warranty if we did get it fixed, but the owner never returned our calls. You never know how long these appliances will last. They only give a 6 month warranty on them. read more

I've always had a positive experience with Peter's Appliance. I'm grateful for their business which has baled me out of landlord problems on several occasions. Some of these reviews are overly negative. This is a small mom & pop place that works hard. If you're going to purchase a used appliance there's no way anyone can predict its longevity. Nobody can, but you accept that risk because they deliver quickly and the prices are good. As a landlord, Peter's Appliance has always been a big help to me! Peter came to our home quickly to do the repair of our Kenmore Elite refrigerator ... whereas other repair places said we'd need to wait up to 2 weeks! We couldn't wait. It needed a new compressor. The condensing coils had not been cleaned since we bought the fridge 4 years ago. (We did not know that the cooling coils should be cleaned with a warm water sprayer 1 to 2 times per year!!!) The coils were covered with dust so they could not effectively condense the coolant. Hence, the compressor overheated and died. BUT Peter answered the call for help quickly, came out as promised, but did not have the part (the compressor) on his truck, sooooo he offered to come back at 10pm that same evening with the new compressor and the parts and materials needed to complete the job. We were VERY grateful that he fixed the fridge PRONTO. There was a bit of a buzz after the repair so he came out the next day and fixed it. Good job, Peter! The repair was not cheap (about $780) BUT it was quick and done right. Peter was very reliable and pleasant. We recommend him. And the lady who answers the phone for Peter was also very pleasant and helpful. read more

If I could give ZERO starts for this place I would. We bought a washer/dryer set a month ago for a new apartment and the first time we tried using the dryer it started sparking and we had to quickly unplug it before it caught fire. Clearly there was a problem with it before we bought it and no one disclosed that with us or they didn't even bother looking at it before they sold it to us. We called and Peter was out there within the week to look at it and told us we needed a new motor. The part took 3 weeks to come in and I had to keep calling to check on the status of it. The 3rd time I called they said it had come in and they needed to schedule a time for Peter to come out (why they didn't call ME to set up the appointment I don't know). He didn't bother showing up in the 3 hour time frame so I called to reschedule. Again he didn't bother showing up and didn't call to let us know he wouldn't be there. I called the following Monday and they told me that both times he looked for 30 minutes for the apartment and couldn't find it. I find that very hard to believe as he'd already been there once and had no problem finding it the first time. And even if he really couldn't find it, all it would've taken is a simple phone call to us to help him find it. Both days we completely rearranged our schedules for one of us to be there (even missing out on having family in town). I will do all I can to make them take back the washer and dryer so we can go somewhere else who actually values us as a customer. Their complete lack of communication and insensitivity to other people's time is enough to make me steer clear of them from here on out. read more
