Had dinner here with my family of 4. There was no line when we arrived we ordered teriyaki plate (white meat), mixed seafood plate, and a side of fries. Waited about 10mins and they had our food packed to-go. We ate at the restaurant. Everything was hot. The fries were fried nicely but alittle on the salty side. The mixed seafood food came with fried fish, shrimp and squid. The fish was good, the shrimp and batter tasted like it's been in the freezer a long time and the squid had an old taste. Definitely was not a fan. Veggie on the veggie tempura was kinda hard. The teriyaki chicken had a good flavor but a bit tough. Overall it was just an okay experience. The staff were nice and the restaurant and restroom clean. They do offer catering and provide sauces. They do charge for extra sauce. read more

The special fried chicken was good. Went well with the sauce and the rice. Missed the 5 stars because the tempura mix that came with the meal along with the veggie tempura I ordered on the side was....not great. Was a bit hard and felt like either it was old or just been sitting under the heat lamp too long. Service was fast and the place was clean. read more

Had to rave about our meal! When your kids request Pete's Teriyaki for dinner, and you're totally on board too- you know it's good! Reality lived up to expectations with our experience! Ordered for take-out on a weekday evening. Inside the restaurant is not too big, and there are of course tables and chairs, but we often get ours to-go as well. The order placed was ready on time and all items were correct, even with modifications. Got a Tofu plate without salt atop, with veggie rolls, rice, tempura sweet potatoes. Textures and flavors were great-crisp on the outside, hot, moist, and flavorful inside. The special chicken plate was ordered wirh tempura carrots, and the family devoured that, the fries, and the Chicken Teryaki Bowl. It's lovely that you can get fresh, vibrantly colored steamed vegetables here! We also ordered multiple extra cucumber salad containers-perfect amounts in each container of goodness! I totally enjoy getting a nice fork-ful of it, then the scooping up some pillowy white rice in the same mouthful! Tempura sauce & teriyaki sauce were great to add as well. We get the sauces on the side so we can enjoy as we go. For years we have patroned the location on West Shaw in Fresno, and now are so excited to get to enjoy it in Clovis at this location! Consistency, value, and yes...get ready to have left overs, helping your money go even further as you might end up with enough for a second meal. Love Pete's Teriyaki! This is another place from my youth! There used to be one about a mile from my childhood home and my mom would often pick beef or chicken rice bowls up for us on special occasions. I had to come buy and try them out because it had been about 35 years since I'd last had Pete's. Boy was it good! Love the tempura shrimp and veggies too! Found this little gem on Yelp. Was looking for a good teriyaki chicken place since one I used to go to in Clovis closed down. Their chicken teriyaki bowl was very, very good and included white rice and tempura veggies. The serving size was so big that my son is taking the leftovers to work today for lunch. The tempura shrimp was also very good with four large pieces of shrimp. The food came out in under 10 minutes. Fast, easy, great value for the money and very good. Definitely coming back. read more

This place is nice. The bowl I tried was the skinless chicken teriyaki thighs. I do want to try the fish and some other entrees ... but what I tried was delicious. It looked very clean and the young lady was super friendly. I was curious about the cucumbers but for $0.50 for 2 slices of marinated cucumbers was strange. It should be free. We like this place a lot. We've gone multiple times without leaving reviews. I'm leaving a review THIS time because of the GREAT customer service we received (it's usually great anyway but this was above and beyond). We placed an online order but didn't realize it was for the other location across town. My husband called the other location and explained what happened. When I got to the Clovis location they explained how they already switched everything over. Our meal is cooking right now and will be ready shortly. Already payed for. Disappointed for the most part. I used to get food from Pete's location on W Shaw and thought it was really good back then. Good service, nice cashier. Long wait for food. Clean restaurant. Back to the food...The tempura vegetables had a thick, hard and chewy coating on them. Not the light and crispy coating you think of for tempura. The beef was tiny sliced pieces with like a gravy on it. The pork was dry. The chicken was good, tender and not overcooked. The sticky rice was good. If you like any kind of sauces, be sure to inquire about them when you order. read more

Order ready and handed over shortly later! That worker wasn't as kind and welcoming as the greeter, but oh well. Nice, little restaurant. Booths and chairs with tables. Clean, safe and practiced! Got the family meal for $59. It was easy to order online. I received a text five minutes before it was ready, and it was easy to pick up, though it was very busy inside. Everything in the tray was delicious. It included crispy chicken, teriyaki chicken dark meat, egg rolls, tempura veggies, tempura shrimp, and white rice. It came with a nicely sized side of teriyaki sauce, but a tiny side of tempura dipping sauce. Could've used more of that. We will definitely be frequenting this place. read more

There's a new Don in town and It was well worth it. It's mostly a take-out place with just a few tables and a lot of people waiting to pickup their food. We ordered two plates of the Chicken Teriyaki with dark meat but one plate will actually feed two people. The first bite had me hooked, You don't even need to add their Teriyaki sauce because it's cooked to perfection- juicy, tender and delicious unlike the dry white meat I've been getting from Teriyaki Don for the last twenty years. Service was great and I got the pork bowl. Was really good and came with a side of teriyaki sauce, but the pork was so fatty it was hard to chew. I love fat on pork, but it needs to be cooked longer for it to be tender. You get a lot of food tho and it's pretty heavy. read more

Food is different and not as good as before. Less food for more $$ and the tempura veggies are thick hard coated batter. Not light like they used to be. I grew up in West Fresno and used to LOVE OG Pete's back in the day. That chicken special was everything. So when I saw they had a location close to my work I jumped at it. They need to update there prices on the internet. As it is advertised as $59 for family meal and when you arrive they said sorry we can't honor that the price is now $65. I would have been fine with paying that price if maybe they would have thrown in the spicy sauce and extra teriyaki for free but they charged 7.00 for that too. The dark chicken with the spicy teriyaki sauce was good. Tempera was a lot to be desired to thick of cuts was eating crunchy raw vegetables not enough batter did not stick to vegetables could not eat it. Never had a problem at the Fresno location seems to be a training issue. Also did not get Tempura dipping sauce and I order to go and did not get my extra spicy teriyaki sauces I request. I did call and asked about the dipping sauce and they said you have to ask for it? Did not matter though since did not eat the tempera anyway. Hope the training is given to bring up to the speed of the Fresno one which I did enjoy that(too far now). read more

The service is great. The workers were extremely friendly on both the phone and on arrival. As for the food, I enjoyed both the fried and teriyaki chicken a lot. The fried chicken is very crispy and the teriyaki chicken is moist and flavorful. I took off a star because unfortunately I wasn't a fan of their tempura. My vegetables were a bit underdone. Also the batter seemed too thick because the inside was a little mushy from the undercooked batter. Other than that I'd be happy to come back PS get the spicy teriyaki. (I initially accidentally posted this on the Fresno site so had to remove it as it was the Clovis site we tried 3 weeks ago) It probably really depends on what you order... my husband said he'd give it a 2.5 rating. The egg rolls were okay. He got the teriyaki chicken bowl but with chicken breast (instead of dark meat) and he was disappointed that the chicken was dry/overcooked. I on the other hand got the combo meat dish. The tempura vegetables were undercooked and most notably with the broccoli which still had some raw batter inbetween the head (which I ended up tossing out). The dark chicken teriyaki was delicious, the pork was pretty good and the beef was a bit tough (but if I chop it up, it would be good for fried rice leftover). Not sure if we'll ever return but if we do, the dark chicken teriyaki would be recommended read more

I use to come here when it was Mah's Teriyaki. Apparently this place opened up 2 months ago. I cannot evaluate anything on the menu but what I tried before and what I tried today. It was a huge disappointment when I compared how it use to be. Now others may think is fine. I ordered the $17 three meat combo. The beef was small and very hard. Mah's beef and chicken were very tasty. Chicken was ok but nothing special. Now the pork had a nice taste but it was burnt a bit. Didn't help that the young lady at the register is super loud, manager needs to tell her to use her inside voice. Very annoying that I had to listen why she doesn't charge her phone overnight.
