've been going to this Petco for years. While it is not the best pet option for all pet needs, the staff has been pleasant and helpful on most visits. I've used the grooming salon in the past but stopped because of the time it took the previous groomer to get done with my little one. I once waited 7 hours for her and decided not to return. Well it had been years and there are new groomers so I decided to try them out.. Mistake on my part, Jala serviced my little ones and cut her leg when trying to trim her leg with the guard off the clippers. She didn't tell me when she called to say they were ready and the groomers didn't want to get her until I had already paid. So, they bring her out and tell me it's a little raw spot on her leg and blaming my dogs fear for the incident. My dog is 6 and has never had an incident grooming. Every groomer tells me how easy and sweet she is, but this new inexperienced groomer is blaming her for the cut on her leg. The groomer and the Vetco tech which happened to be there that day said it's not an open wound, but they put antibacterial ointment on it. If it's not open why does it require ointment? The Manager of Petco Ron apologized for the incident but overall the staff and Vetco techs dismissed the injury with shoulder shrugs and a well things happen attitude. Unfortunately when you allow Petco to groom your fur baby you have to sign a disclaimer that basically allows the to injure your pet. I will never ever ever ever take my baby back to the groomer or vet here. These people are indifferent to errors made by them and injuries to pets. Jala was unapologetic and on to the next. It was clear she didn't care when she blamed my girl for her mistake. I wish her the experience she gave me with a loved one, an error, injury and indifference.

Recieved a call from Dave (manager) telling me that they're having 30% off grooming, asking if I would be interested in the offer for my dog Dallas. My appointment was on 6/3/19. They did a great job on Dallas. She'll be back for sure. Everyone was so professional, friendly as always. If you have or love animals please stop be to visit.

She did the initial training for a week long, while I had a work trip. I picked her up this morning, and was given so many hugs and kisses, then immediately she showed me what she had learned. Then we went and did the obstacle course, everything was great... but that's not even the best part... I took her on a 4.5 mile hike down by Calvert Cliffs, and being the holiday weekend, it was not packed, but there was a great deal of traffic , both human and canine ... She was EXCELLENT!! Not trying to meet everyone, no rambunctious action, ignored aggressive canines or loud ones, and listened to almost every command given. It was a perfect hike!! I am so looking forward to working more and more with AppleJack and progressing her training even further.. Like the saying, you get what you pay for... and if you want the best, don't look anywhere else!

The trainers really understood Duffy and could see how I needed to change to help he become the "good boy" I knew he could be, I cannot stress how amazing the transformation was. Duffy is now my constant companion who I enjoy having by my side at home and on the road. We both learned so much from Ryan and the others that it changed our lives. I can never thank them enough. The positive attitude, patience, kindness, understanding and their amity to teach and explain simply blew me away. Without a doubt Applejack is by far the best place for dogs and their humans to be schooled. Training is and understatement of the services they provide. I would recommend them to Pet Owners world wide. Thank you Applejack Duffy and I were so lucky to be referred to you.

Pebbles (blue heeler, 1.5 years old) would never listen to me, would not sit or lay still, and had a lot of other obedience issues that caused her to be stressed or confused. She was a TOUGH dog to train and I was concerned I couldn't find the solution for her to get basic concepts. This view has completely changed since working with RSK9's 3 week program. I would HIGHLY recommend them and their methods - you can tell they genuinely love working with dogs and it's made a huge difference in giving my dog the chance to find real rest at home. They send DAILY updates with photos and videos which was so nice. This isn't a regular class or something you just pay for; it's truly an investment that you and your dog will be using for the time you get to share together. Side note: it's worth doing 3 weeks versus 2 weeks. At the 2 week mark is when Pebbles really started to understand her marks and cues. From here there is so much more that can be refined and Brandi/Perry really capitalize on that threshold being crossed!

Initially we checked out the Ridgeside Instagram account and then after contacting them for additional information we decided to sign Flossie up for the 3 week board & train program. We were given our trainer's contact info in case we had any questions or wanted additional info prior to the start date. Gina picked up Flossie and for the next three weeks we got pictures and videos every day of Flossie's training progress plus also information for us to learn about the training. All of this made the transition back home easy and seamless. Gina's instructions were clear and concise and she also made sure that we understood the hows and the whys of training. Since Flossie has been home Gina reached out to see how things were going and said she was available if we had any follow up questions. We are very happy with the outcome and feel the training really firmed up our loosey goosey training up to that point. Gina gave Flossie the foundational training she needed in order for us to meet our goals with Flossie and we couldn't be happier with the outcome.

She would not go near him or listen to any commands we tried to use. Jay explained to us the approach he would use during training and I told him about the different goals I had for Nalani. I did some research after our evaluation with Jay and decided that he would be the best fit for us and for training Nalani. There are two things that really stood out with Jay compared to the other companies I looked at, the first being that the was no shock collar involved and the second being that all training was done in home with me or my husband. These were important to me because I didn't want to rely on a collar for my dog to listen and I didn't want to send her away to train, I wanted to build that bond with her so we would continue to succeed long after training. That being said we are now two months post training and Nalani does not miss a beat; she listens the first time for all commands and has quickly learned new ones on top of what she already knows! Just to touch on the training aspect there are few things Nalani learned with Jay that I never believed would be possible or even imagined to train her myself. We live in a split level house and before Jay our dog would run and bark at whoever was at the door no matter the person. On our first official training day we were taught how to instruct her to stay at the top of the steps whenever someone rings the door bell and stay there until released. When Jay told us that was our first goal I thought to myself NEVER in a million years will this work! Well, it did! This is just one of the many simple commands that Jay taught us and I never would have thought of myself. It will also be one that will come in handy for a very long time. Another part of her training was to sit whenever told during walks, not to get distracted, and not to pull on the leash. This one took a bit more training but Jay persisted, he kept at it and showed us different techniques to use during our walks to accomplish leash manners. Now I hardly have to even hold the leash and Nalani stays right at my side and never pulls the leash. The last thing I'd like to mention is off leash walking, this was my biggest goal of the entire training, everything else was great but ultimately I wanted to be able to take my dog anywhere and not worry about her running off when not attached to a leash. After Nalani mastered the other training techniques Jay taught us it was time for the off leash training. This actually was learning on my part, I needed to trust my dog and show her confidence to be off leash. It was unbelievable the first time she did it effortlessly. No leash, right at my side, and I had no worry of her running off!! To end this long review and get to the point, Jay is an absolutely amazing trainer! He went above and beyond training Nalani; he met all of my expectations plus more. I have no regrets choosing him as our trainer and plan to use him for any future dog's training. Jay truly cares for the dogs he trains and its obvious the compassion and love he has as a trainer. I would highly suggest him to anyone looking for effective and lasting training.
