    Grace! My little puppy.

Excellent staff! Wonderful veterinarian! Highly recommend. So easy to make appointments. Faster than my other clinic my dogs go to for extra complex treatment. I will be coming here for all vaccines, and annual wellness check. Thank you!

Parakeet, possible female ( likely) age unknown

Staff was not very knowledgeable about the animals and handling. I wish there was a better way to capture the small birds like parakeets then chasing them all over with a net until they're panting and stressed out. The animals did seem healthy however. Worker who cleaned cages didn't know age, origin or even basics about breed.

Dead fish, very clearly multiple days old.

Animals are in horrendous conditions. Multiple hamsters were bloody from stressful conditions. Couldn't get a great picture but one had a very clear URI and a head tilt. One had a bloody hand and there were multiple VERY deceased betta. They had clearly been left there for over a day. There was only one person at the cash register and there were over ten people in line waiting. It took her over fifteen minutes to get to me and I was the third in line.

Petco's trainer, Katie is the best. She really cares about the dogs and is invested in doing all she can to make them better members of the family. She is patient with the dogs and she intuitively knows how they are going to respond to her training techniques. We're very happy that we chose Petco to train our husky, Bella. Huskies can be quite challenging at times, and Katie has helped us out so much with figuring how to get Bella to act the way we want her to.

Since my daughter lugged home a 90 gallon tank and two turtles, we have become regulars at Petco. First time visiting this location, and I'm sure it won't be the last. I like that this Petco is identical to our regular location. Down to the hanging location of the beta fish food. I was able to navigate around without assistance. Staff was short handed, lines at both counters. But once you get to the cashier, they both wee nice, helpful and friendly.

This particular store is west a little bit just off I-5 on Hazel Dell Ave in a mall and is Petco! I was in to buy my Bi-weekly supply of Wellness cat food . Their prices are fair, the store also is laid out nicely. Lots of ample parking, Nice polite folks running it ! no complaints 5 stars*****! ''Thank You''

I have had to put all 4 of my guinea pigs to sleep because of petco's lack of care. About 5 months ago I purchased a black guinea pig from here. When I brought her home she had had a bit of a runny nose. I didn't think much of it. Well 5 months later it turn into a bunch of infectious abscesses growing on her. Since this is a very contagious thing it began to spread onto my other 3 guinea pigs that I have had for years. To get rid of these abscesses it requires a $400 surgery per guinea pig. So my only other option is to put my suffering babies to sleep. My friend also had purchased a guinea pig from the petco in Longview wa and her guinea pig ended up having rye neck after 3 months of having it. The only option for her pig was to put it to sleep. I have heard many horrible things about petco and how badly they treat their animals. I just always thought they were rumors until I learned the hard way.

Good selection of products, clean, but... Today my son and I came in to purchase some supplies for my lizard. While looking at the lizards in the cages; we saw a completely emaciated, almost dead leopard gecko. My son informed an employee and they just shrugged it off that he's a little skinny but fine. Look at this picture; does this look fine to you?!

It's really hard to find a groomer that knows how to give a good puppy cut to our cotons. Things…read moretend to turn out looking off and we end up having to fix things on our own to the best of our ability- but not here! They have groomed our 2 coton de tulears many times at this point and every time they come out looking great! No weird long looking poodle ears like the people who like to keep the hair on the ears long, we think they end up looking silly when groomers do that. We told them we prefer shorter ears before their first groom and they have always done it without having to be asked ever since! No weird random chunks of longer hair like when groomers don't take the time to make sure everything is around the same length. A HUGE thing for us is neither have come back from Rustic Mutt with razor burn! I can't tell you how many groomers have ended up at bare minimum giving our little guy razor burn even when we warn them he is prone to it. I've even had to pay for urgent vet appointments they've gotten razor burn from other groomers so bad but never here. Our poor boy used to come home from grooming, appointments, totally miserable and would run from carpet to carpeted area and sit down to try to not feel that irritation on his skin. It was awful and no matter how many times I tried to make sure they were careful , it would always result in razor burn. When we moved here I really wasn't looking forward to finding a groomer again because it's hard to find one I trust because of this. Rustic Mutt put me at ease and the people have been very nice. I always appreciate the option to text them as well as I'm not great at keeping up with the phone sometimes. We went through a really stressful, prolonged time in our lives recently and when we were away almost all the time and when we were local it was busy. I was diagnosed with a very painful disease that has no cure, several surgeries, several rounds of IVF, I could go on. This resulted in my husband and my dogs needing to travel all the time, living in hotels for months while getting care and treatment and some of the surgeries. Since it was such a frenetic time we weren't able to get them in for a regularly timed groom and with all the walking and no access to regular bathing for them they ended up quite matted and dirty by the time we were able to get them in for an appointment. I really did try to brush them and keep up as best I could but at a certain point with them not shedding and their hair getting so long I'm ashamed to say I let it get away from me. They went to such great lengths to cut their hair and not give them razor burn, not shave them all the way down, and they left some of the matts on the counter to show us what they had cut off and how bad the matting had gotten. Contrary to what people might assume I was appreciated of the gentle visual chiding, it shows me they care for the animals. There are only 2 reasons I can't give them the 5th star and it is this: 1) as far as I'm aware they still choose to go off of verbal confirmation that an animal has been receiving their vaccinations & such. Almost every other groomer I've ever worked with (and I've had dogs all my life) required confirmation from an animal's veterinarian that they are up to date and while it's a pain in the butt to constantly keep that updated it also makes me feel safer knowing all the other animals they will be around in the establishment are up to date as well. Verbal confirmation is great but unfortunately I'm sure it's easy for some people to lie. I had a problem once when my dogs were around dogs that weren't up to date and it resulted in one of my dogs being hospitalized, a very heart wrenching experience and expensive mistake that could've been avoided. Just to be clear this didn't happen at Rustic Mutt but a previous place, I'm just explaining why the worry had relevance to me. 2) you generally have to schedule pretty far in advance in my experience to get in generally, especially in the summer, which I understand but unfortunately there are times where you really just need to get your dog in and can't wait several months. I wish that they would/were able to hire more people, even just for bathing services so during the times I can't bathe them regularly it would be great if I could rely on them for that.

All the current active staff working at this specific location have demonstrated & proven how extremely capable & exhaustively knowledgeable as trainers, dog behavior specialists, groomers, etc. They have exceedingly created a trustworthy controlled environment setting that makes me reassuringly safe to entrust the safety & wellbeing of my 4-legged son. They have gone above & beyond for my puppy & I could not praise/thank them enough for their time, energy & effort to nurture my puppy's confidence & needs. Including assessing & addressing his trauma triggers being bullied as the "runt" of his litter, that occurred prior to his rescue. I am thoroughly enthralled with their most adorable & transparently informative daily report cards that are released after their daycare reservation. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to cultivate & nurture their doggo-puppers development & overall wellbeing (with a heaping side of well deserved spoiled treatment)! Will definitely be a continuing member, as long as they will have Beemo & I, after we officially move to the PNW.

Then, I'd do the self-washing. My dog was traumatized by a groomer when she was young and has never recovered. She requires kindness and calm to get through it. So do I, for that matter. It's stressful because she dislikes it so much. Today, everything was different than every other visit. I was not welcomed. The first girl I talked to seemed disinterested and blandly told me she'd be right back. She sent the main groomer out who seemed completely thrown by what I was asking. I have done this very thing numerous times with a previous employee she tells me has "moved on". I can see why! The main groomer said she had to get a dog off the table and would be right back. As I waited, I realized I was about to spend money with someone who couldn't care less about me or my dog. I came home and did the trimming myself, and won't be returning. There are other self dog wash places. Life is expensive and becoming more so. I choose carefully who gets my money. I did the math, and Totally Mutts just basically told me to take my $600 a year somewhere else. You got it!
