I'm extremely disappointed And will not be taking eaither of my animals back. I have a micro bully who is literally extremely sweet, I was told the service would be an hour and it lasted 10 minutes. I wanted him to get everything done, ears nails and bath I dropped him off and told them how he has sensitive skin and was trying to explain the things I thought was important and I felt ignored and cut off. I get a call 10 minutes later that all services were done and he could be picked up I find it hard to believe all services were done properly in a 10 minute frame. When I picked him up his nails were clipped unevenly so I'll have to re clip them. And he's ears were filled with gunk and look like she didn't even touch them when I asked her to clean them the second time because they were still filled with wax. I wanted his ears clean because this is what was bothering him and needed to be done. I was charged $90 for a 10 minute service. I definitely could've done it myself and done way better job and thorough job for cheaper I just had a bunch of running around to do today and I wanted to treat him and was excited to bring him in, but that will never happen again. I will gladly do it myself. They said the reasoning behind charging him 90 is because of his breed size and how hyper he was he's a freaking micro bully and he just turned one years old I still don't understand how $90 even adds up to that. I feel like a comment was made about how he wasn't aggressive at all when I picked him up which I told them he's not I genuinely feel like they were expecting the worse because of his breed and they just didn't have the patience for him and that's why I was charged so much. Lesson learned too expensive for lazy services feels like fast cash grab doesn't feel like they care about taking their time with the animals at all.

Best grooming experience I've come across in Vancouver. Scheduling online was a piece of cake. They even txt me updates regarding my appointment, and when there was open availability to come in earlier they let me know immediately. Communication was a 10/10. Staff onsite was also very friendly and welcoming. Mimi came back looking and smelling amazing. We're both extremely happy with the results. I will definitely be back!

The owner reached out and apologized for the incidents. I appreciate you reimburse me for all the vet bill and also the grooming fee. I am willing to continue to support this local business. Hope it never happen again

I absolutely adore Rainy Day Grooming! My two pups have been groomed by multiple different groomers here, and I've had a great experience every time. I have a feisty pomeranian who is a brat for everything, and a sweet geriatric aussie with a multitude of health issues and trouble standing for long periods of time. Every groomer here has been kind and understanding, and done a beautiful job grooming them regardless of their issues. Can't recommend them enough!

I decided to take my mini schnauzer here after reading good reviews. He's admittedly terrible during grooms. Anxious, thrashes, bites. I disclosed all behaviors and pre medicated him. They have you create a profile for them to book appointments where I also stated he was blind except for partial vision in one eye They called shortly after I dropped him saying they couldn't safely groom him. I arrived and he was standing all naked in the middle of the grooming room, separated from me by a gate. The groomer was unaware he couldn't see me, unaware he had any visual issues. I booked an appointment with service for dogs that take extra time and care for their behaviors, with a groomer supposed to be able to accommodate such with high hopes. Two other area groomers have been able to groom my dog multiple times. I left with a very sad, partially shaved dog.

I have been taking my Corgi here for almost 3 years. They are amazing, great work for a great price. Their groomers take their time to talk to you about what you would like and what your dog is comfortable with and not. Every time they exceed my expectations which is why I always come back. We live in Portland and do the drive just for their groomers. We usually have Kerri groom our dog but had Jackie today and she did an amazing job as well. Can't recommend this place enough!

Things…read moretend to turn out looking off and we end up having to fix things on our own to the best of our ability- but not here! They have groomed our 2 coton de tulears many times at this point and every time they come out looking great! No weird long looking poodle ears like the people who like to keep the hair on the ears long, we think they end up looking silly when groomers do that. We told them we prefer shorter ears before their first groom and they have always done it without having to be asked ever since! No weird random chunks of longer hair like when groomers don't take the time to make sure everything is around the same length. A HUGE thing for us is neither have come back from Rustic Mutt with razor burn! I can't tell you how many groomers have ended up at bare minimum giving our little guy razor burn even when we warn them he is prone to it. I've even had to pay for urgent vet appointments they've gotten razor burn from other groomers so bad but never here. Our poor boy used to come home from grooming, appointments, totally miserable and would run from carpet to carpeted area and sit down to try to not feel that irritation on his skin. It was awful and no matter how many times I tried to make sure they were careful , it would always result in razor burn. When we moved here I really wasn't looking forward to finding a groomer again because it's hard to find one I trust because of this. Rustic Mutt put me at ease and the people have been very nice. I always appreciate the option to text them as well as I'm not great at keeping up with the phone sometimes. We went through a really stressful, prolonged time in our lives recently and when we were away almost all the time and when we were local it was busy. I was diagnosed with a very painful disease that has no cure, several surgeries, several rounds of IVF, I could go on. This resulted in my husband and my dogs needing to travel all the time, living in hotels for months while getting care and treatment and some of the surgeries. Since it was such a frenetic time we weren't able to get them in for a regularly timed groom and with all the walking and no access to regular bathing for them they ended up quite matted and dirty by the time we were able to get them in for an appointment. I really did try to brush them and keep up as best I could but at a certain point with them not shedding and their hair getting so long I'm ashamed to say I let it get away from me. They went to such great lengths to cut their hair and not give them razor burn, not shave them all the way down, and they left some of the matts on the counter to show us what they had cut off and how bad the matting had gotten. Contrary to what people might assume I was appreciated of the gentle visual chiding, it shows me they care for the animals. There are only 2 reasons I can't give them the 5th star and it is this: 1) as far as I'm aware they still choose to go off of verbal confirmation that an animal has been receiving their vaccinations & such. Almost every other groomer I've ever worked with (and I've had dogs all my life) required confirmation from an animal's veterinarian that they are up to date and while it's a pain in the butt to constantly keep that updated it also makes me feel safer knowing all the other animals they will be around in the establishment are up to date as well. Verbal confirmation is great but unfortunately I'm sure it's easy for some people to lie. I had a problem once when my dogs were around dogs that weren't up to date and it resulted in one of my dogs being hospitalized, a very heart wrenching experience and expensive mistake that could've been avoided. Just to be clear this didn't happen at Rustic Mutt but a previous place, I'm just explaining why the worry had relevance to me. 2) you generally have to schedule pretty far in advance in my experience to get in generally, especially in the summer, which I understand but unfortunately there are times where you really just need to get your dog in and can't wait several months. I wish that they would/were able to hire more people, even just for bathing services so during the times I can't bathe them regularly it would be great if I could rely on them for that.

All the current active staff working at this specific location have demonstrated & proven how extremely capable & exhaustively knowledgeable as trainers, dog behavior specialists, groomers, etc. They have exceedingly created a trustworthy controlled environment setting that makes me reassuringly safe to entrust the safety & wellbeing of my 4-legged son. They have gone above & beyond for my puppy & I could not praise/thank them enough for their time, energy & effort to nurture my puppy's confidence & needs. Including assessing & addressing his trauma triggers being bullied as the "runt" of his litter, that occurred prior to his rescue. I am thoroughly enthralled with their most adorable & transparently informative daily report cards that are released after their daycare reservation. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to cultivate & nurture their doggo-puppers development & overall wellbeing (with a heaping side of well deserved spoiled treatment)! Then, I'd do the self-washing. My dog was traumatized by a groomer when she was young and has never recovered. She requires kindness and calm to get through it. So do I, for that matter. It's stressful because she dislikes it so much. Today, everything was different than every other visit. I was not welcomed. The first girl I talked to seemed disinterested and blandly told me she'd be right back. She sent the main groomer out who seemed completely thrown by what I was asking. I have done this very thing numerous times with a previous employee she tells me has "moved on". I can see why! The main groomer said she had to get a dog off the table and would be right back. As I waited, I realized I was about to spend money with someone who couldn't care less about me or my dog. I came home and did the trimming myself, and won't be returning. There are other self dog wash places. Life is expensive and becoming more so. I choose carefully who gets my money. I did the math, and Totally Mutts just basically told me to take my $600 a year somewhere else. You got it!
