When I picked him up, my doggie was running around, and was enjoying himself. His haircut was what I asked for. Ali noted a small scab on his ear and made me aware of this. They are accommodating and nice, very helpful if you ask questions... Addressing people who think it is dirty, they have a lot of people who have shedding dogs. Do you want them to decline clients because dogs shed? I noticed quite a few people who do know what they are doing, and they should help out by cleaning up after themselves. I've only used a self service dog wash a couple of times so am not really sure of process. The gal at the front desk was nice and somewhat helpful but I got the most help from a fellow customer. All of the washing stations were dirty with water and hair in the tubs and on the floor. There really wasn't a clean place to set my wallet and keys down while I bathed my dog. The drier filters were full of hair. There was one person cleaning up but they didn't look very enthusiastic about their job. I'll try somewhere else next time. read more

This place was Dog Gone Filthy... A lot of dog hair on the floor, in the tubs, and on the drying tables. This was my first time here...I picked a tub that appeared to be the most clean--well might have been until I started washing my small dog and realized that the water was not draining so he was standing in dirty water. Pulled up the wood slated base to see a disgusting amount of hair in the drain and under the boards. Brought him into another tub to rinse him. Had to carry him over to drying area-grab towels for him to stand on as the table was very dirty. The dryer only blew cold air and my dog was not pleased--nor was I. I put him into my warm car and came back in to grab the shampoo and conditioner that I had brought. When I went to pay I told the person (long blonde/white hair) that the room was really dirty--they were rude and said "well that's how it is"--when I went to pay I was told $20...I said "just for bathing my small dog?" Again rude tone and "that's what it is". I paid and went to car. I looked up prices and saw that I was charged the amount for the largest dog! I went in and asked why I was charged for a large dog when I have a small 20lb dog. Again, rude tone "well it's not weight it's shoulder height". I then indicated that his shoulder height was less than what it indicated for $20.00. Then rude tone-"well you can bring him back in and I will measure him". I have been to self washes all over the US and NEVER have I ever been in a such an unkempt facility. I have also never been treated so disrespectfully and rude. I would never go back to this place...feel awful I did not just turn around and walk out when I realized how dirty and unsanitary it was but I had already sprayed down my dog. read more

Not impressed. Took our 11 year old golden in for a nail trim for the first time here. I've mostly done it myself. Got no help getting him up or down off the table...stairs were steep for him as he as he's not a young dog anymore. Several nails were cut so short that they were bleeding badly. He put something on them that was supposed to stop the bleeding, but after that, he was gone, leaving us to get our dog down and deal with the bleeding that had started again. read more

I have been using this place for years because of the self clean dog wash area. The last few times I have been there it's been disappointing. Tubs are not clean, piles of dog hair everywhere, no towels to dry your dogs and the staff is usually rude when you ask for assistance. read more

Don't go here. Last time we will take our puppy to get groomed here. We spent $85 on a full haircut even though he couldn't even get a nice trim! They trimmed his body and left his legs untouched. I have been bringing my dog here for years to use the self-serve dog wash, but the last two times we have come the condition of the tubs and drying stations were so dirty and unkept that we won't be back. They are not cleaning it on a regular basis now and I have had to ask for towels both times. There is dog hair everywhere! They don't seem to have enough help and concentrate on the dogs that are brought in to be groomed more than the dog wash area. It has gone downhill quite a bit. Super disappointed! read more

This was the first time I've been back in over a year, and itll be the last time. I've never seen any dog wash so dirty. They had tons of hair wafting around, and they just kept bringing new clients in without cleaning anything. No one ever sweeped up one hair, never used a vacume, and never apologized for the state of their shop. We left still picking white dog hair out of our mouth, our hair and theres still plenty of it in my wallet... Not only do I need a shower now, but my BROWN dog is covered in a ton of white dog fur so I'll be brushing and blow drying that off her too. read more

**Pet Parents Beware** First (and last) time using Dog Gone Clean in Hazel Dell. Having an appointment same week should have been a red flag. When I called to inquire about an appointment I was told it would be $80.00 for bath/cut for my standard poodle. Right in line with PetSmart and Petco. So, I agreed. I gave them specific instructions on the cut (traditional poodle cut) and made sure it was clear to only trim enough hair from his pom so he could easily see. I am appalled at the length they went with. He literally looks like Bozo the Clown. But this is only the beginning of a nightmare experience. When I walked in to pick him up some gal who I didn't see or talk to when I dropped him off, greeted me with "boy he hates to have his feet trimmed"! I was shocked since all I ever get from groomers is what a great boy he is. Well, the pictures would explain why. He was being burned! Yes, burned from a dull blade. All over his body he is burned. On top of all this she told me it was going to be $180 since it took two people to hold him down. WTF! Hold him down? You don't hold dogs down to groom them. I am devastated for my boy! Again, this bot is an incredible, obedient dog! NEVER a complaint about him. All while trying to reason with this woman (infant on hip and worn and torn clothes) she had no desire to listen to my concerns and frankly argued with me while other customers were waiting. She was VERY unapologetic for ANYTHING! Her attitude that was such she said things like "well poodles are hard to cut" "you signed a form" "no guarantees" all while customers were waiting to be helped. I will be taking my boy to the vet tomorrow for a check up and for something to stop the burn/irritation. She DOESN"T CARE, people. Do your pet a favor and go somewhere else that you have a relationship with and trust. I will wait 3 weeks with a dog gone dirty dog if necessary to see our regular groomer. NOT worth Dog Gone Clean! BTW- my boy is 3 yrs old and is groomed every 6-8 weeks. This is not normal to be burned or held down during a grooming. UNEXCEPTABLE!! read more

I had a bad experience with this place several years ago and said I would never go back. Today I decided it would be easier to take her down and give it another shot. Got home from work and loaded her in the truck walk in the door only t find out they close for dog washes at 3:00. That pretty much let's me out forever. I won't bother trying them again. read more

My puppy has major issues with his nails being cut and is completely terrified when he's restrained in anyway so after trying literally everything I thought as a last ditch effort I would try a nail trim here since it was $2 Wednesday for nail trims. My gosh, I had two and at one point three women helping me trim these nails and they each were amazing. I left with all nails being trimmed and these women went through hell with my pup all with a smile. They were beyond amazing and I'm just grateful I finally have a way of trimming my pup' s nails. P.S the main woman handling him while the other trimmed was bleeding from her arm after all was done and she continued such a positive attitude! Will be a loyal customer from here on. read more

I used to take our black lab (Java) to a dog wash place in downtown Vancouver. I went by there and they were closed so the next closest place was Dog Gone Clean. This is a great find because I will not be going back to the other place. You walk in and before Java can take 3 sniffs a member of their friendly staff greets you! I told her that I wanted to do the self wash and she immediately had an apron in hand (she's quite the ninja). They have a few bottles of soap available for you to use. Some dog washes soaps are very watered down, but there seems to be way better than the other place! The drying station was nice and had very powerful blowers! Java was primped and pretty in about an hour (I'm a little slow and I like to take my time). As usual, Java makes a mess because she loves to shake and I felt a little bad for the staff there. The cleanup was fast and they're just on top of things. Java seemed to be a happy camper after her bath. Highly recommended and we'll definitely be back! read more

This dog cleaning place years ago was very affordable. They have really raised their rates. Today I brought my two small dogs in and they were both in one tub, I used 1/8 of one bottle of shampoo and two towels. I was charged $36.00! I will not be bringing my dogs in for a wash again. read more

I brought my Pitbull in for a wash, which I did myself and the nail grinding which the staff did. My pup pup, loves going for a drive. She can be aggressive towards other dogs, so I muzzled her, which she ripped off once she was in the wash station. The wash station is perfect for cleaning my dog, the have a way to leash the dog. The water is warm, which my dog loves, she hates cold water! And then I get to put my hands all over her and clean my dog. What dog isn't going to love their owner man handling their dog. My pup was in heaven! She was loving life and getting clean. Can't say she is a fan of getting the nails trimmed. But she did great at the dog wash station. They have everything you need. read more

They do a great job grooming your harder-to-groom dog, but being accused of neglecting my very much loved Border Collie because he matts up easily, over charging me 60 something dollars when telling me on the phone it will cost me no more then 40 to groom and wash and cut my dogs hair, and treating their customers like crap, is a good reason I will never be going back here again to groom my dogs. I took my chihuahua in for his first teeth cleaning, hes 7 years old. She spent at least 40 minutes on him and his teeth really sparkled and his breath was 100% better! He had terrible breath before. She didn't even charge me because he really needs to go to vet and get some teeth pulled. That was very generous of her! I couldn't believe it! After I go to vet she said to come back for regular cleaning every 3 months at a discounted price. I will definitely do that because I appreciate her honesty and kindness. read more

We run our dogs out in the mess that is the NW and they get plenty dirty. At the end of a long, fun, trail run we head over to Dog Gone Clean on Hwy 99 in Vancouver. (They have 3 locations now so look for one near you in Portland or Astoria) We like the spacious shop and the friendly service. We never feel like we are too close to the pooch in the next tub. The shampoo and conditioner selection is pretty extensive and we can wash even our sensitive sharpei-mutt with the right combo of cleaners. There is help available for nail trims if you need it. Sometimes we get all the mutts dirty and that means we are out-numbered. In that case we just turn one over to the brush & bath staff and the extra dog gets clean in the time it takes us to wash the others. If you have one of those fuzzy beasts that needs a haircut too - call and check for availability of the groomers. They have a good variety of breed specific clips they can do. The Vancouver location is one of the most established dog washes in the area. They know the business of getting pups clean and can help you become an expert with your own dog. Their other locations have boutique shopping on site where you can stock up on food, treats and fashions. Give Dog Gone Clean a try. You'll never tolerate a smelly best friend again. Pros: High number of tubs, good shampoo selection, wash-n-go - no clean up !, nail trim help. Cons: Can get busy at the end of a weekend - but the wait still won't be too long. read more

First time here, my usual place was closed for the day. Walked in and it was DIRTY, yes it's a dog was place but gross. I waited at the counter 15 min until someone decided to help us and they seemed confused I why I was there. I had a dog and was at a dog wash so I figured that was a given. In the end my dog was clean but the service is horrible( yes it's self wash but at least acknowledge your customers and answer simple questions). I gave 2 stars because the people here are very pleasant, and they do an ok job as far as cutting/trimming. Also they can work you into their schedule quickly. But every time I brought my dogs home they would chew and get mites, and I had to take them to the vet :( I have two small indoor dogs who never had any issues before. So I've been taking them to Franko's, and they don't have anymore skin issues. The service here is good, but they need to look into this mite thing. read more

I decided to try this self-serve place since I was short on time to give my pup a bath and just didn't want to deal with the hair clean up this time around. The interior is full of presumably the owner's rescue huskies and some extremely saturated paint colors which is only redeemable considering that they seem to have a lot of grooming tools at the drying tables to use if you don't bring your own. I was skeptical after reading other reviews about there being large amounts of hair and dogs in distress in the shop space but figured it was just one bad day. Low and behold there were both unusually high amounts of hair considering they literally vacuumed as I walked in and there were 2 other dogs. There was an anxious dog barking the entire time that the groomer just ignored for a solid 30 minutes while I was there. The last straw for me was the same groomer coming over half way into trimming my dog's top coat who said the owners won't allow breeds with more than one coat to be shaved. I agree that double coat breeds shouldn't be shaved to the skin but I guess that large dogs should only be trimmed by hand for hours instead of using a 1/2 in guard on a razor. The gal at the front wasn't surprised to hear we are never coming back, which seems to be a common theme for this wash. I'm sure it is great for dogs that just need a bath, but I would never leave my dog here and we are never coming back. read more

I wish we had a nice dog wash on this side of town. This one is gross. I understand it's a dog wash, but I've worked at a dog wash and it shouldn't be this dirty. My dog has gotten fleas both times I've come here (she never gets fleas). It's really too bad, I would totally come here if it weren't so grimy! read more
