If I can give this place a minus I would. First impression of the building is runs down and need cleaning. and I was like should I leave my dog here? I almost bailed on my reservation and just took off. I should have done that. But since I confirm that I will come. So I want to honor my words. So I dropped my fur Babies at 12:57 pm. So I asked what time will she be done. She said 4 or 5 pm. I said wow that's a long time. Than I came back at 4 pm and they just showered my dog. I was like seriously. And they mentioned they are short handed. I understand but I think they should inform me and be honest so I can make choice should I leave my dog there for 5 hours. And for good customer service, If you can't take that much dog than don't. Bad management with the scheduling work. Now the lady said we are behind and she will be done at 6 pm. I don't know how her scheduling is done. I feel bad for my fur baby staying inside the crate. If she was not showered yet when I came, I will take her home. And on top of it. She also say we don't take card, cash only. Nobody say anything to me when I drop her off.. And they don't take Venmo either. This is place really need majors management training and communication and time management. Btw my fur babies done at 6:40 pm. There is no apology from the owner. I don't want to make a big deal but no more business from me. When we got home: the first thing my dog did was drink. Lots of water. Seems she was not drinking for the past 6 hours and second things is peeing. She also seems been holding her pee for 6 hours.

My beautiful fur ball after Jan's Grooming bathed her, trimmed her up, AND brushed out her under coat!

I have taken my dog to Jan's Grooming the last two times she needed groomed. The first time I brought her I was amazed at how good of job they did. She was a beauty after, with no more under coat! She is a Yukutian Laika, so a big shedder. I vowed then, to only take her to Jan's going forward. Not only the best price but by far the best groomer I have ever found. I returned with her this week. she was shedding like crazy and her white fur was getting very dingy. When I booked her appointment I hoped it was not a fluke, and I just managed to get lucky the first time. To my amazement, they managed to groom my girl even better this time. I didn't even know her fur could be this soft and that she could get so white. Her fur actually glistens. I don't write many reviews, but I actually want to write this review! I want to write reviews every where. I am so happy - and she sure feels better, too!

    Oogi after her Lion's Cut.

I have a fiesty/sassy/abused rescue Persian. She won't let me brush her so off to the groomers we go. We went to Jared the Cat Groomer before and she bit him with no warning! Plus, he's quite spendy! Not a lot of places will groom cats so I was stoked when I found out Megan (the owner) of Jan's does cats. After a nice morning cocktail of gravy and gabapentin, off we went. Megan said she was an angel with no hissing or biting! The best part is the cost was significantly less! Thank you Megan and staff! Cya next year!

Ive been taking my dog to Jans for 8 years, after they open after covid took my boy to get groomed, nails the works he was there for 9 hours, got him home and he started coughing , gagging and 5 months later he's still coughing and gagging, took him to vet one month after visit and was told his trachea was damaged from a collar around his neck being pulled , well i thought it was kennel cough which he gets every time after i have him groomed its normal 5 months later hes still coughing and gagging so sad yes Jans only charged me 25.00 but 9 hours later and several vet visits later im so angry , my regular groomer there left I found out after the fact , and I was sitting in waiting room waiting 2 hours the staff would rather talk about what they were going to do the up coming weekend then take care of my dog with a neck wrap around him, so wish i could find out where the groomer went who groomed him for 8 years at Jans, cause i refused to take him back there, so sad they did this to my boy dog, its horrible how he coughs and gags after his last visit, I feel so bad for my little boy to have to go through this and my vet says damage is done and groomers should know not to put a collar around small dogs cause it will destroy their Trachea and once damage is done no going back!! Horrible

Things…read moretend to turn out looking off and we end up having to fix things on our own to the best of our ability- but not here! They have groomed our 2 coton de tulears many times at this point and every time they come out looking great! No weird long looking poodle ears like the people who like to keep the hair on the ears long, we think they end up looking silly when groomers do that. We told them we prefer shorter ears before their first groom and they have always done it without having to be asked ever since! No weird random chunks of longer hair like when groomers don't take the time to make sure everything is around the same length. A HUGE thing for us is neither have come back from Rustic Mutt with razor burn! I can't tell you how many groomers have ended up at bare minimum giving our little guy razor burn even when we warn them he is prone to it. I've even had to pay for urgent vet appointments they've gotten razor burn from other groomers so bad but never here. Our poor boy used to come home from grooming, appointments, totally miserable and would run from carpet to carpeted area and sit down to try to not feel that irritation on his skin. It was awful and no matter how many times I tried to make sure they were careful , it would always result in razor burn. When we moved here I really wasn't looking forward to finding a groomer again because it's hard to find one I trust because of this. Rustic Mutt put me at ease and the people have been very nice. I always appreciate the option to text them as well as I'm not great at keeping up with the phone sometimes. We went through a really stressful, prolonged time in our lives recently and when we were away almost all the time and when we were local it was busy. I was diagnosed with a very painful disease that has no cure, several surgeries, several rounds of IVF, I could go on. This resulted in my husband and my dogs needing to travel all the time, living in hotels for months while getting care and treatment and some of the surgeries. Since it was such a frenetic time we weren't able to get them in for a regularly timed groom and with all the walking and no access to regular bathing for them they ended up quite matted and dirty by the time we were able to get them in for an appointment. I really did try to brush them and keep up as best I could but at a certain point with them not shedding and their hair getting so long I'm ashamed to say I let it get away from me. They went to such great lengths to cut their hair and not give them razor burn, not shave them all the way down, and they left some of the matts on the counter to show us what they had cut off and how bad the matting had gotten. Contrary to what people might assume I was appreciated of the gentle visual chiding, it shows me they care for the animals. There are only 2 reasons I can't give them the 5th star and it is this: 1) as far as I'm aware they still choose to go off of verbal confirmation that an animal has been receiving their vaccinations & such. Almost every other groomer I've ever worked with (and I've had dogs all my life) required confirmation from an animal's veterinarian that they are up to date and while it's a pain in the butt to constantly keep that updated it also makes me feel safer knowing all the other animals they will be around in the establishment are up to date as well. Verbal confirmation is great but unfortunately I'm sure it's easy for some people to lie. I had a problem once when my dogs were around dogs that weren't up to date and it resulted in one of my dogs being hospitalized, a very heart wrenching experience and expensive mistake that could've been avoided. Just to be clear this didn't happen at Rustic Mutt but a previous place, I'm just explaining why the worry had relevance to me. 2) you generally have to schedule pretty far in advance in my experience to get in generally, especially in the summer, which I understand but unfortunately there are times where you really just need to get your dog in and can't wait several months. I wish that they would/were able to hire more people, even just for bathing services so during the times I can't bathe them regularly it would be great if I could rely on them for that.

They have gone above & beyond for my puppy & I could not praise/thank them enough for their time, energy & effort to nurture my puppy's confidence & needs. Including assessing & addressing his trauma triggers being bullied as the "runt" of his litter, that occurred prior to his rescue. Then, I'd do the self-washing. My dog was traumatized by a groomer when she was young and has never recovered. She requires kindness and calm to get through it. So do I, for that matter. It's stressful because she dislikes it so much. Today, everything was different than every other visit. I was not welcomed. The first girl I talked to seemed disinterested and blandly told me she'd be right back. She sent the main groomer out who seemed completely thrown by what I was asking. I have done this very thing numerous times with a previous employee she tells me has "moved on". I can see why! The main groomer said she had to get a dog off the table and would be right back. As I waited, I realized I was about to spend money with someone who couldn't care less about me or my dog. I came home and did the trimming myself, and won't be returning. There are other self dog wash places. Life is expensive and becoming more so. I choose carefully who gets my money. I did the math, and Totally Mutts just basically told me to take my $600 a year somewhere else. You got it!
