I'm beyond disappointed I took my dog to grooming today as I have done plenty of times before. Before he was taken back I told the lady my dog has a scab THE VET SAW IT AND SAID ITS FINE. I requested special treatment and I mentioned I needed that flea treatment. The lady didn't ask me she and some other girl made the decision to not shower him because of his scab. They saw how mad I was and instead of being apologetic they were condescending about it. I thankfully found another groomer to do the job today. This place was such a mess. Very dirty public bathrooms probably hadn't been serviced in a very long time. Went to use the self wash service, the shampoo and conditioner they supply were watered down to nothing. I have a small Jack Russell and I needed to use half a bottle just to get lather. The employees were quite unfriendly and I was disappointed with their service. I chalked it up to "what the hell does 20$ get you these days?" Went to Petco, tonight and lets start with very upsetting. We wanted to purchase a parakeet asked an employee if they could help she said "sure ill get someone" 10minutes pass by no one came another employee passes by "can we get some help please" Sure let me get someone. Another 10 minutes no one came. There was no line although one girl at the register and no people in the store. If they want to sell and have customers they should rethink the training and prioritize to customers. After everything no one helped and we just left and no one cared. This is my very nervous and squirmy dog Nala. She's a year and 4 months, and I rescued her from a shelter when she was 11months. This was our 3rd time coming in to get her nails trimmed. And let me tell you, this employee, Adam, is so great with her. As you can see in the pictures I just had to share, he's calm and patient as she does nothing but shake and move around. He took the time to relax her and get her familiar with the nail filer. Basically treated her as his own dog. We've had him once before and he used the exact same patience he did today. Although we couldn't accomplish buffing her nails, the main service was done. I hope the more we come to him, the more she'll get use to him, and be easier to handle. The Self Wash Service for dogs has really gone down the drain, literally. It used to be $12 and with "shampoo included", they would give you actual shampoo. Now it's $20 and the giant bottle they provide is 99% water with just a splash of soap - ridiculous. On top of that, half the time they either don't have towels or the dryers aren't working, but funny enough the price remains the same. I won't be surprised if they soon have the audacity to raise their price to $25 and change the instructions from "leave your mess to us" to "please clean up after yourself". All in all, at least at this particular location, you have yourself a combination of unimaginable audacity to both keep up with the inflation and manage to retain the utmost laziness in service, as well as major complacency. Came here to buy dog wee pads bc Costco is out and the Costco brand is on Amazon for close to $40 but it would take 1 maybe 2 weeks delivery and I need them today. Mark, in grooming, does wonders with her and listens to every request I have, including not to blow dry.My dog hates the sound of a blow dryer next to her face, so he does a wonderful towel dry for her no extra$$ Also, he's brilliant with her little nails! Gets the nails filed or clipped every time with perfection! He is the best! I've been to many Petcos, many many of them. There's a worker name Gaby who is extremely knowledgeable. Every time I see her, she gives me the biggest butterflies along with snakes and roaches in my stomach. Not only is she knowledgeable, but she has the best attitude out of the whole store. Great store that has a proportional amount of product for a variety of animals. Dogs and cats come first. But they also have birds and fish and everything that they need. I used to take my 70 pound dog here for grooming,but no more. It's not that the people doing it are bad. Far from it. It's just the timeframe from start to finish. Why is my pet in a cage for an hour or so after you get around to calling me after he's been groomed? This isn't me dropping my car off for an oil change which seemingly takes hours. And when they get around to it call you. Other than that I'm cool. I will say this, they do throw down a price match if you find a store that sells an existing product cheaper. If you leave your dog to get groomed first of all don't, second of all if you do watch to make sure they do what you pay for. They charged me when I picked her up and got home and realized they didn't do the full service I asked for nails being the main reason i brought my dog in and they didn't touch them. The grooming department never answers their phone which is maddening. Go local. I've had trouble with petcos in Colorado and California now and no one ever called me back to resolve the issue. Always a line and slow employees. Update: though they say below they are addressing the issues. They don't. Their twitter account asks you to DM them the issue and they will get the business to contact you back. But they never follow up and when I asked about it they stopped responding. Across the whole store where the dog treats are, there were deals on buy one get one (either free or 50% off) *applies for pals rewards* Jonathan was nice, however I'm not sure if he applied my rewards to any of the items I bought, so basically I paid full price for the ones that were advertised. I'm trying to call but no one picks up. Should I be surprised at the low reviews? Probably not. This is my third time to this Petco for grooming. We also came once before for vaccinations. Every single time we come, we are treated with genuine respect and care. Each grooming visit has been a delight. Our pup is a very nervous one, and of course, it shows when we drop her off. But the staff is always so calm and kind to her, and when we come to pick her up, she's happy, clean, and seemingly sweetened up to the team. I've been coming to this grooming salon for more than 4 years every two weeks . But today I will never waste a dollar again . They have ran through so many groomers and we still stayed faithful. But today someone took there job way to serious . My dog 6 months ago got cancer and had to undergo surgery and chemo . I come to Petco if there's a good deal or if we get gift cards. I personally prefer Petsmart because their customer service and prices are better from my experience and based on the items I frequently purchase. Got a gift card, so boyfriend wanted to get some saltwater fish and plants for his fresh water aquarium. There was a sale going on with saltwater fish, coral, and invertebrates so there were quite a bit of people in that section yet nobody came to ask if anyone needed help. 15 minutes pass by without any help so I ask for assistance and the cashier calls someone over, but they end up helping 2 other families who came after us. I would think he would ask and help who was there first. This Petco is cleaner than the one in Northridge. The freshwater plants looked healthier and the water looked cleaner at this location. read more

This location is the closest Petco to me and is the sole reason I visit frequently. Absolutely every time I come here, there is one cashier at the register and a long line of growing customers. You'd think that the other workers would be on the floor maybe helping customers, but nope. Their policy is 60 days for returns and would not even return it for store credit. Item is still carried at the location. They have lost a customer for life over $27. I left my keys here and called in to check with the store. They told me to come pick up my key and when I went to pick up they broke apart my keys to a Mercedes with a chain on it and took the AirPods. Luckily I was able to track my AirPods too the store only for them to close 5 mins after I went back to retrieve my keys. Now I definitely left it on the counter with the sales person and no customer found to return it. They gave my keys back in to separate ones for my car and my regular keys and stole the AirPods. Every time I make a pick up order from this location it is a total nightmare. Gave the order number, but wouldn't give me order or even look it up. My wife placed the order and put me as the pick up person. ISSAAC made this process as difficult as possible and had me wait over 15 minutes for the order he had behind the counter.
