I know that the larger box stores do not have the greatest rap but Abigail and the other groomers are amazing. Charlie had her winter coat, her puppy coat and every other coat just coming off. I could not keep up with all the coats, but when my Charlie girl came out I was amazed. So just give petco a chance and tell them Charlie & Nicole said hi

He wouldn't come out from under there for a whole hour!!

Pathetic Grooming Department - I came in with my 12 lbs maltipoo for a grooming session. He's been groomed by multiple other groomers with exceptional positive feedback. They called me about a hour later saying "Coco is ready for pickup" and I drove there to find out my dog had a very bad experience there. My pup came out glad to see me and the groomer told me that Coco tried to attack him and bite him multiple times and apparently for no reason. Then I called the assistant manger to tell me the same thing and he too mentioned that coco tried to bite him multiple times. They let me know that Coco will not be seen at any other Petco. Coco wouldn't come out from under the dining table after I reached home and he was soooo bummed out and shaking. It was obvious that groomer scared him with the trimmer by either cutting him or not being patient with him. It's not rocket science, people have figured out how to groom dogs efficiently. If this job was simple then I would have gladly done this at home but this is why you guys have a job and get paid fairly well. Instead of being accountable for this I was told that I have a vicious biter in my hands and I was returned a half trimmed dog who was devastated. ( for the record, this guy has never once bitten or even tried to nip ANYONE!!!) and on top of that he's banned from visiting a petco groomer!!!! This just spoiled my whole experience with Petco having hired incompetent and inexperienced groomers and instead of admitting your mistake and being accountable for it , my dog gets banned ????? It's better for your careers to maybe make that change in your attitude to be successful as a dog groomer or else there's always unemployment. I hope to never cross paths with you guys again, good day!

Grooming department only - the front desk lady (+GM) was rude and unprofessional( I had no issue with any of the stylists). I took my 6 month golden retriever puppy for a bath today and she refused to take my puppy in. I was here before and the same person rejected us, for the reason that "I don't know if the vaccination record from your breeder is for your dog" despite us providing current vet's contact info and offering to call to verify. lol, why would I fake a vaccination record to pay $$ to bath my dog at your store? Too funny. I'm fine if you can't accept it, but she made it sound like I try to fake something out. A few days later, we took our puppy here again and was happily welcomed and bathed by another person. I was told my puppy did very good. Again, today, that same lady rejected us. They let him "sit", he was distracted by a dog waiting outside of the glass door and another dog barking aggressively in the grooming room. When they say "sit" my baby didn't do it right away but choose to come forward and lick the stylist's face. He's just a happy sweet puppy who wants to say hi. After trying another time, He did sit and lay down calmly. But sadly, they immediately decided to not take him in, not giving a 6 month puppy a few mins to settle in, not another chance at all. I was so frustrated.. my dog just finished his puppy elementary class at ahimsa dog training and have been going to Seattle puppy works to socialize. he's no where near aggressive. Ive never, never, heard anyone saying anything about him being aggressive. Not from any strangers or professional trainers. When we were there, no barking, no growling, not at all. (Not to mention there's another dog barking 10 feet away in the grooming room, this is just so ridiculous) just SO unprofessional that they can't tell energetic from aggressive? I'm okay if it's the rule that "dogs that won't follow our commands right away can't be seen here", (which you should put up on your website) but I'm NOT okay to be told "you should get him more training" this is just so RUDE.. you're providing a service, not picking a puppy service dog prospective.. just because they are not the business owners, they don't care about customer value/retention. Less service = more free time I'm actually so glad I didn't do the club membership thing to waste my money and after reviewing so many bad reviews about dogs freaking out after their baths, I actually felt lucky that the only thing i wasted was time. Ps, I even received a call 1 hour before my scheduled time to see if I could come early, which I did, thought it'd work better for the stylist, I'm happy to try my best to come as early as I can. After driving 30 mins to get here, got coldly turned away.. Again, I had no issues with the stylists, here's a photo of my puppy getting a bath last time here. Same puppy, seen by different people. Absolutely different endings. Why?

Shopping!

Olive likes shopping here, and of course that's what matters most. I like that it's conveniently located and they have a great return policy. We got a crate and when Olive quickly found her way out of it, Petco was happy to allow me to return it. The weirdest thing about this store is the layout. The dog beds, for example are on a different wall than the dog toys, and the cat scratchers are in between them. The staff is hit of miss. A few people are really friendly, but one basically just ignored me. I was standing in the toy section, and I asked one of the employees if they had any dog crates, he just said "They're on the other side of the store," and walked away. Gee, thanks. Overall, a-ok.

Toe nail cut and made it bleed.

My 6 month old yorkipoo got his first grooming with Diane. Diane was attentive, calm, very good with my puppy and did an excellent job. Also, I appreciate her asking me what style of cut I wanted. I asked for a trim so his hair doesn't look like he got buzz cut. She seems to be very good with dogs. My pup left happy & even cuter then when he arrived. He received so many compliments so I'll definitely bring him back for another grooming. Little Bear Grooming will be my puppy's main go-to groomer. Can't wait to bring him back for another cut! My dog has been dealing with constipation and yellow liquid poop for 4 days for what can pass through. I am considering taking her to the vet today. The gentleman had on a newsboy cap and the woman had reddish hair (forgive me for not having better details, I was so sad. But the sentiment remains the same.) There are businesses you visit, and then there are places that become part of your family's story. All The Best falls firmly into the latter category. Since moving to Ballard, our dog was a regular visitor. He'd shamelessly help himself to treats from the bins, tail wagging with pure delight at his "successful" heist-- the cashiers were always so gracious. And on top of that, the store regularly hosts wonderful community events (like the wading pool they set up during farmers market days.) But it was on our dog's final day that the staff last Wednesday morning truly showed us the greatest kindness. We brought him in one last time, and they let him steal treats to his heart's content. Without being asked, they prepared a goodie bag filled with food and treats he might enjoy, and they gave me forget-me-not seeds. In a moment when I was completely broken, they showed such genuine compassion and understanding. Those treats kept Teddy calm and happy in his last moments, and I will never forget the incredible kindness of their gesture. If you're looking for a pet store where your furry family members will be truly welcomed and cherished, where the staff genuinely cares about your pet's happiness, and where you'll be treated like family, this is your place. Thank you to the team for being such beautiful souls. You've made me a customer for life.
