If I could give this place nothing I would (0 stars). This "Petco Vet" is unwelcoming, unhelpful and rude. There's just something about it that makes me thankful this place didn't work out for us. The lady in the front needs to be fired because she's awful and very unwelcoming. SHAME ON MANAGER JOSH! It is a shame to have to write anything negative about this location but this manager needs a conversation with his district manager. I have bought 4 skinny pigs in the last few months. Every time JOSH is the one to help he has been checked out as if I'm wasting his time. It is clear that the staff is uncomfortable around him as well. One example, I asked to have a conversation with him and before I finish he proceeded rolling his eyes. They are a local store with a staff that is friendly and inviting other than when this manager is working. It is a shame that one person of "power" can make everyone uncomfortable. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE TO BE GROOMED!! took my dog to Petco to be groomed for the first time yesterday. When I picked him up I was not informed that he had been injured, so I paid and left. When I got home I noticed fresh blood dripping down both rear legs. I called petco to inquire why my baby was bleeding and they said it must be from brushing, and offered to refer me to a veterinarian!!!!! I will be taking my dog to his vet. Why wasn't I informed he was harmed when I picked him up? I will never shop here again and plan to make sure none of my friends do either. Absolutely unacceptable. read more

Called at 4:30 pm and asked about the self bathing station for my dogs. Lady explain pricing and process. I asked if they were busy, she said no go ahead and come in. After I got off work went home got my dogs drove to the store and mgr sarcastically said " oh man it's closed, we close it at 6 pm. I explained it's 6:11 and explained situation and how I called and no one explained they closed at 6. Asked if they could make an exception as it was 11 minutes past 6 and he says no I explained if he's the mgr he needs to educate his team about explaining hours when customers call especially if closing time is near. The team here always has attitude and very unhelpful. Much more prefer Petsmart. read more

If I could leave zero stars I would. Set a grooming appointment for my dog and they refused to see her because she has a permanent head told from an ear infection she had. The older white lady even tried to imply I was a bad dog owner and that I needed to take her to the vet again because her ear was still bothering her. She has been to all her appointments! This Petco has paid to have my review taken down 7 times. I have all the direct messages and all the paperwork, but at this point I just want to say this is one of the worst petco's ever. Your better off leaving your dog or cat with a blind man with a chainsaw from a groomer. They never fixed the issue but about a year ago they destroyed my puppy's haircut. First off I have to say, I should have listened to the kind stranger that told me to seek a vet elsewhere...I did not listen...big reason for this review..I like Dr. Pagal, I think she is really good with the animals..however I would be very cautious using this vet especially if you actually suspect something is wrong with your animal..my cat had very visible abscesses and they waited 2 weeks to do anything, she saw 4 different doctors in 2 locations...I will only have myself to knock on the head. These people are cruel, the receptionist is the worst part out of all of this. She is the messenger between the call center and doctor and I should have walked away the moment you speak with her...she is not having bad day...she is just a bad person...get the hint from the attitude up front and seek vet services elsewhere. read more

Ladies, I know you 'only work there' but when you've pushed a customer to cancel both grooming appointments, and share that a rebooking won't be happening, then toss out a "have a good day!" the same way anyone else would say 'go 'f' urself", well that cements the deal. I'm just an old lady with good bit of extra money to spend on my dogs, and you don't have any investment in client retention, having not 1 shite to give. I love the store and the veterinarian but I will never take my dog to be groomed here again!! I came in with a cute little Shih Tzu mix who needed a good bath and brushing and came out with a dog with an ugly poodle shave. Yes she did have some loose knots/mats but not horrible and I know for a fact the groomer didn't even try to brush her because there was a small burr in her fur by her mouth and even after being completely shaved I found the burr was still there when I got her home. I found the staff beyond rude, didn't even try to do what I asked for and now I have a ugly dog!! They had her for almost 4 hours and shaving her was the best they could do!! Disappointed! I go to Petco a few times a month to purchase food, etc. for my 3 dogs and considering the COVID surges, I try to do curbside pick up to keep safe. Each time I use the app and click "I'm here"-I wait 1/2 hour and end up calling the store. Coincidentally, each time personnel acts surprised and asks me to park on the red in front of the store instead of taking it to my car (there are no designated stalls). There is obviously an issue with their process and employees are not trained to properly respond to curbside pick-up. I may just purchase food elsewhere where my business is valued. read more

Came in to wash my pet and the floor and all bathing stations were muddy, filled with pet hair and still wet. Even if one station had bren clean, I still would have been left with wet shoes. I asked the stations be cleaned. However, this store does not provide the staff with cleaning rags to dry the stations or floor. I'm giving it a 1 star because the self wash station is hardly usable! The few times I've used it the soap is not working properly and the dryer is cold. One time I took my dog to get a bath and they said it was closed because the water heater was broken. Today I wanted to take my dog in for a bath and so I called first ( because I didn't want to drive all the way over there for them to tell me it wasn't working) and guess what? It was closed because it was doing some pallets in that area!! Now why would they use that space as storage when it clearly is for people to take the dogs in for a bath! This is the worst door ever!! The person that checked me in for my grooming appointment didn't even bother letting my dog get to know them before they swooped their snare over my dog's head. It startled my dog, and she tried pulling out of it. She proceeded to drag my dog with this lead so tight around her neck, you couldn't even wedge a piece of paper in between the two. I put my hand in between the lead and her neck to give her some room, and told my dog that it was ok. I told the person doing it that it wasn't necessary. She then reached down in front of my dog's face and grasped her by the muzzle fur so that she could feel for matted fur. My dog yelped and snipped at her. It was alleged that my dog aggressively bit her, therefore refusing service on my dog. First of all, you don't drag a dog, or any animal for that matter by their neck. Second of all, she should have known not to put her hand in front of a startled dog's face, not to mention putting your hand near their mouth! Sounds like she either needs to look for a new profession or get some training on how to respect a dog's space. She didn't have on a name tag, nor would anyone give me her name. I went to my car and attempted to log back into their website to schedule an appointment at another location (Redlands). Once logged in, I had already been banned from even making an appointment. I called the Redlands location and spoke to a groomer. She told me that based on the notes in the computer, they will not touch my dog. I asked to speak to a manager. A Candice came on the line, and told me that she was the manager. She looked at the notes, and said that I can't be banned because of a single incident. She had a grooming tech book an appointment for me the next day. The grooming manager was the one that was scheduled to do the grooming. When I get there, she proceeded to check my dog in, and saw the notes and told me that she is not touching my dog based on the notes in the computer. I asked to speak to the store manager. The grooming manager was gone for a good 8-10 minutes. She then came back with an assistant manager named Josh. He didn't even want to hear my side. He said "bottom line, we are not grooming your dog". I asked him why the manager allowed and booked an appointment for me, if they weren't allowed to groom my dog. He stated that Candice is just a lead and should have never told me that. I asked why he is only taking into account the one side of the story. He said that they trust their employees, and they wouldn't lie. So now I'm not only banned from Petco, but I am the LIAR. Josh said "if there isn't anything left that he can do" and extended his arm out towards the door for me to exit. I told him that he is excused. Then he said "if there is nothing more for the grooming staff." again reaching towards the door. I told him that I can stay in the store until they closed if I wanted to. You can't motion me out the door when I'm not doing anything wrong. He is siding with the employee, but yet he said that he wasn't there, so he doesn't know what actually happened. Whatever happened to "the customer is always right?" I will be contacting corporate first thing Monday morning. Covid has really screwed up this society. Getting good service and someone willing to work without an attitude is very hard to come by. read more

Please DO NOT take your dog to the groomers at this Petco. I had the worst experience of my life at this Petco! If you love your pet at all, I repeat DO NOT go here. I had an appointment to get my dog groomed at 4:00pm. I work a job that doesn't allow me to get out of work until 3:00pm and I could not go in until 4:00. I should known the first red flag was the groomer calling me Thursday to get me to bring my dog in earlier. I explained that wasn't possible due to my work hours. I brought my dog in at 4:00 and drop her off. I stayed in the area, grabbed some Starbucks and literally sat waiting in the parking lot. I get a call to pick up my dog ( which I missed due to talking on the phone) and I head inside. When I go inside, it takes about 15 minutes before I am even addressed. When the girl finally addresses me, I tell her I am there for my dog. She proceeds to tell me that they "don't have any dogs" and that the groomer left! I told her they had my dog and to please go get her. They then make me wait. Another girl walks by after a few minutes and I tell her to please go get my dog right now. At this point, my anxiety is literally through the roof and I am having a panic attack in the middle of a Petco. Full on ugly tears. Finally after what felt like forever they bring me my dog. I told the girl why they had said they didn't have my dog? Why had the groomer left and who was checking on her? It's wrong! How do you do that to your customers? How do you tell someone you "don't have any dogs in the back" before going to check first? Why panic them The girl who finally brought my dog was very dismissive and said her coworker mis-spoke. Pricier than Petsmart IMO but this location is around a lot of food & other shopping places so it is a lot more convenient to come here to do all my shopping needs. I guess you can think of it as paying for the convenience of the location. I got a leather collar for my cat for $8.99. I also bought two dog treats at the front (next to cashier). My husband and I took our Daughter and Son-In-Law's dog to Petco to wash her. She's said to go to the groomers so thought we would try it. We had s good experience. A salesman grabbed a small basket that had an apron and two towels in it. He walked me to the bathing station to go over the control station that had the shampoo, rinse, dryer hose etc. It reminded us of a car wash, warm water and soap came out, our dog enjoyed the warm water and massage. It was less than 5 minutes literally after dropping him off, didn't even make it to the car while I got a call from Vanessa saying go pick up the dog that he wasn't cooperating. They didn't even try, it's not the fact that they didn't do the service it's the fact that they didn't try and Vanessa was rude like she was bothered, she said "teddy isn't cooperating can you come back for him?". Terrible Service here, management and staff don't know their own policies. Their own policy states 16 weeks or younger require only 2nd set of shots for them to get groomed. My husband took them a day after their 2nd set and was told they couldn't take them because they needed a 3rd set plus the rabies, my husband asked to speak to the manager Kent. Kent didn't know the policy and had to call to even verify the insurance programs they carry. The manager told one of the employees to take the dogs that it was ok, but the employee who is pregnant and another employee named Alyssa refused. My husband was denied service, that weekend my husband and I went back again spoke with a different manager. That Manager looked at our vaccination paperwork from Vetco and from out of state breeders. He apologized for the inconvenience look up the policy and stated he'd make the appointment for them to get groomed, the only available appointment was 2 weeks ahead, I asked him if it would be an issue for my dogs to be exactly 16 weeks he said no. He promised my dogs would get groomed with no issues. Day before my appointment Alyssa called me to verify the appointment, she asked me to make sure I brought in my rabies shots once again. I told her that was not her policy she placed me on hold, when she came back on the line she said ok you can bring them with proof of their 3rs set, I told her no that's not your policy, she put me on hold again. When Alyssa came back on the line she said just bring whatever you have. Finally 5/2/21 @12:30 pm; walk in get in line for the groomer and already see the employee named Alyssa and employee who is pregnant look at us and they began shaking their heads and talking amongst themselves. Another groomer asked me if she could help, I informed her I had an appointment gave her my name immediately she asked for proof of my vaccinations and she stated she needed the rabies and 3rd set, I told her no that was not their policy. She looked at my vaccinations records and said she couldn't take out of state shots, she said she would bring the manager. Kent came to talk to me and my husband, stated again that he needed the rabies and 3rd set of shots. My husband was upset at this point, told him he didn't remember the first time of this issue. We again were denied service, the groomer had the nerve to tell me my dogs were older than 17 weeks, I asked her where was she getting this information when I had proof of age in my paperwork. Manager walked towards groomer and asked her why groomer picked up phone and walked away from Kent the manager. You can see he has no authority or knows how to manage his own employees. As I stated I was going to call corporate office and make a formal complaint the groomer Alyssa and the one who is pregnant began to laugh at us and waved as we left. Manager just stood there. Unprofessional, rude staff who don't know how to read and follow their own company policy. I payed into their Pet insurance and pet services and have not received them. I schedule an appointment for today only to have them reschedule this morning to go in earlier. When I showed up to the appointment they turned my dog away because they only take printed rabies cards when I explained to them that her vet is private practice and they can call to confirm her shots they started questioning her license. It seems the last few times that I have shopped at Petco I get either a rude cashier or a rude floor person. Today was a cashier. She had no customer service and seemed to be in a rather bad mood. She did not ask if I needed a bag or ask for my rewards number. I even left a donation. Upon leaving I said Thank you to her and she just said " uh-huh" and walked away from the register. Let me preface this review by saying that I generally prefer Petco to PetSmart because they have a more robust selection of healthy, organic pet foods. I'm giving Petco of Redlands 2 stars for how disorganized the store was and for overcharging me on my last visit. Disorganized store. Perhaps it was yesterday only because I don't remember the store being as disheveled as it was yesterday. I could barely push my cart around as I was looking for senior dog food for my 2 older fur babies. I usually go to the Petco near DTLA or in Irvine (even in Charlotte, NC) but I've been to the Redlands one a few times. Yesterday was by far, the worst that I'd ever seen the store. They had palettes of merchandise and carts full of merchandise littering the aisles, making it pretty difficult to navigate around the store with their relatively small carts. It was pretty off putting. Further, they were conducting a class in the middle of one of the aisles instead of the designated areas so they had large barking dogs, congregating around the dog food aisle. I was with my 3-pound Yorkie, who was shaking in fear of the larger dogs. I was also on edge because it only takes one second for an owner to lose control of their giant dogs and for my little ones to be a light snack (one of my yorkies has been in the mouth of an Italian mastiff after its owner lost control in the past). They overcharged me and weren't very apologetic when they had to issue the refund. I'm not really one to tally up the total when I go grocery shopping. At the end of the day, you need what you need and you just pay for it. My senior dogs are admittedly overweight and we needed to buy them some dog food and treats that are more health and weight-conscious. I bought a small bag and a few cans of the food to make sure that my dogs like it before I buy the full sizes. When I got the total, I was surprised that it was over $100 but paid the amount anyway. When I got into my car, I reviewed the receipt and noticed that they had charged me twice for one bag of dog food. I brought everything back into the store immediately and the cashier said to me pretty matter-of-factly, "Sorry, the register has been doing this all day..." Really??? So instead of double checking your transactions, you just expect your customers to eat your oversight? I usually don't review my receipts, this just happened to be an exception. Let's imagine what they would have done if I "accidentally" walked out of the store with $20 of merchandise without paying for it... Would they have been so cavalier and unapologetic? I know that this was just a cashier and I didn't bother to ask for the manager (I was hungry and late for dinner) but if the double charging was an ongoing issue that the cashier admitted to, they should then be trained to watch to make sure that they weren't overcharging customers; not putting the honest on customers to ensure that the transaction was calculated correctly. I'm writing this review in the hope that customers carefully review their receipts because if this happened to me, I'm sure this isn't the first time or the last. read more
