I'm updating my review because I continue to be extremely disappointed with how Vetco has handled my dog Benji's care and records. Benji was prescribed Simparica Trio through Vetco, and my concern from the beginning has been that an appropriate current heartworm test was not performed before he was prescribed heartworm prevention. Benji has since tested positive for heartworms and is now undergoing months of treatment, including significant activity restriction and upcoming heartworm injections. Vetco was already made aware of this situation and of my concerns. I also previously left a review about what happened. Despite all of that, Vetco called me today to tell me that Benji is due for vaccines. At this point, I have to question whether anyone is actually reviewing his medical record before contacting me. My dog is currently being treated for heartworm disease, and Vetco is well aware that there is an ongoing issue regarding his previous care and testing. Yet I'm receiving what appears to be a routine reminder call as though none of this is happening. I understand that automated reminders exist, but when a pet has an active medical situation and the owner has already raised serious concerns about that pet's care, I would expect someone to review the chart before calling. The heartworm diagnosis was upsetting enough. What has made this experience worse is feeling as though there is very little communication or continuity when it comes to Benji's history. I hope someone at a higher level within Vetco/Petco reviews Benji's complete record and the way this situation has been handled, because this has seriously affected my confidence in their veterinary services. read more

This review is for the vet side of Petco only....as I wanted to inform that Adam...office manager or whatever title he provides you is completely useless and cannot even answer simple questions....we took our puppy there a few weeks ago for some standard vaccinations and flea and tick medication...to which she had some negative reactions to days later....and we were very concerned...I called and unfortunately had to speak to Adam twice and I just did not feel comfortable with him at all....and he was not helpful or even understanding of our situation...our dog is like a child to us....he wanted to run up vet bills and kept saying her symptoms were most likely not related...so I asked him what steps they would take to diagnose her and the costs...and he could not even answer me...very strange....anyways...we won't be taking our dog back to such an incompetent business....he even took the phone away from the front agent named Cindy who was extremely nice and understanding... she is the one who represents the business well and shows compassion...Cindy is a tremendous asset to this company, but as far as Adam goes, they need to dismiss him as he is not a good fit for that role.... read more

Adam one of the managers here is unfortunately useless. our puppy is 13 weeks old. We just brought him in for a second round of vaccinations. We don't take him anywhere because he is not fully vaccinated. We had to leave him for about an hour on their recommendation and after we took him home he now had flees! I made a very reasonable request, cover the difference from the heart worm medication I bought to the worm/flee medication and we'll call it a day, THEY SAID NO because they "already recommended it". I don't take him anywhere he doesn't get flees it's actually your fault he did and you do nothing?! this actually says more about the care you have for the animals people trust you with, what if he was close to a dog with rabies and you didnt pay attention just like you didn't with the flees. My dog would be dead. I made a very reasonable request and your clinics inability compensate for YOUR MISTAKE is absolutely disgusting. Adam you should find a new job, you seem like an okay guy but this is below you and really anyone for that matter. read more

First experience for a puppy grooming. The prices online are incorrect, there are "mandatory" fees for materials like shampoo. The groomer gave all kinds of unsolicited advice on how I should handle my dog. While I appreciate her offering advice, once I tell you that I take my dog to the vet and get advice there, I need you to stop. I had a coupon - even though it didn't say that it excluded grooming, the manager wouldn't apply it or offer a consolation for not applying my coupon. She's "Like yeah it might not say it excludes grooming, but you can't use it." Grooming closes early on Sundays before posted time online, which is fine if that is disclosed when dropping off for a grooming appointment instead of a message "be here in 5-10". Had I known my Petco experience would be like this, I would've driven the extra couple of miles to PetSmart on Donald Ross. read more

We have been buying our pet food at this chain pet food & supplies store since we have had pets. They have various food products but usually only carry of the natural, holistic and organic pet food we prefer for our pets. They also provide grooming services toys, beds & apparel. And some locations offer pet services & adoptions. This location in Palm Beach Gardens I find more complicated to find my pet food brands. But it could also be that I do not shop at this location as often as the one in NY. read more

It was disturbing how insensitive they were to my dog for grooming. They put the collar around her neck to take her to the back, but because she was so scared she wouldn't move. They dragged her and let the collar choke her until her eyes were bloodshot. They looked at me like it was my fault. I understand that she wasn't easy but they should have just stopped immediately. Management is so unprofessional. Petco needs to train their managers on how to speak to customers in a professional manner. I went to pick up an online order that was under my name however whomever RH is probably made the mistake and put the order under my daughter's name. I left the store then I remembered to that I had proof of the order. So I went back in and spoke to the nice cashier name Yael and I told him someone made the mistake and my name was the pick up person. Make a long story short the manager Jenn came back out and still in a defiant way said it wasn't until she saw it was and instead of apologizing she told Yael to give it to me and went to hide in the office behind the registers. It was dog food not a dog that I was picking up. She made me feel like I wanted to steal something that was already paid for. A simple I'm so sorry for the mistake, I will personally will look into what happened and make sure this doesn't happen again to you and anyone. Love this place. The store is always clean and the staff are very helpful. When I bought a display model aquarium for the house one of the associates brought a screwdriver out and spent his next 15 minutes breaking down an aquarium cabinet, then wheeled it out of the store and helped pack it in to my car. They also tend to hold adoption events where local rescues bring in their puppies and kittens in to find a good home. We very much enjoy shopping here. read more

I've always had good experiences at the store and miserable ones at the grooming services... The staff was always not interested and not loving to the dogs. I have a sweet certified therapy Labrador retriever and my last time there was definitely My last Time at Petco !!!! They would not take care simply bc I asked to cover her paw w socks I brought just because the waiting in the cage could be long and she could lick her paws ( allergies and boredom) and because I mentioned it they insisted they could not take her. Liability reasons. I said forget about the socks ( she would never choke on socks bc she never chew anything in 12 years of life!!) Anyways, I insisted she needed that bath and I was begging at that point. The manager came and said no and apologized in a very apathetic tone. I wAs so disappointed with the lack of costumer service mainly because of the robotic way of treating every situation the same when there are clear differences. My dog is 12 years old, certified and is always there!!! They acted like they never saw her and they could not care less!!.. I was so mad- I had to take care of my 3 young kids plus bathe my dog after taking her to swim in the ocean! So unfair and for such idiotic rules! Frustrated with such poor costumer loyalty and uninterested staff, I left and I will never ever come back again!! Food, bones, toys and grooming will get my business somewhere where pets are individuals and treated like a live being and not as a "thing" or a "rule" to follow. I want to give Reyna a five-star rating because she's a true professional in every sense of word from the first time I decided to give Petco Legacy Pl, groomers, another chance. Reyna reassured me my dog would be in good hands and get the groom I request. Scheduling my little guy was tight. Reyna had a busy schedule however, made time to return my calls and called to tell me as soon as she had a time slot open up. She did! Mickey was groomed by her and I was pleasantly pleased. I agree with the awful customer service. Six days ago I brought my Husky puppy in for science diet puppy food large breed and one of the people working in the store (possibly the manager) told me that the other science diet puppy food was exactly the same except the size of the kibble. He got diarrhea for 3 days so I was concerned that it might not be. When he saw the vet today she was very adamant that they are not the same. The large breed food protects his bone and joint growth. She told me to return it to the store I got it from since science diet is guaranteed, and do not use any more. When I did I was told I couldn't return it since it was significantly used. This store sold me a food that can harm my puppy and refused to make it right. If you know exactly what you want maybe a fine place to go. Do. It think that they will give you honest recommendations or even be responsible when they sell you something harmful. read more

We have purchased 2 amazing pets here at Petco our Bearded Dragon Julie and our Green Conure Bean. Everyone at this store have been always helpful and great. We also have 5 dogs and buy all our food there. My wife and I had a question about the food and the manager Gerard was so helpful guiding us to the right decisions on our choices. Every time we walk in the store we are greeted by first name and it feels good coming to the store. I've had my dog groomed here about 4 times. I'm not entirely happy with the service and feel like I can find a better groomer. I have an 8 lb dog and they always take at least 3 hours to groom him. One time I called after 3 hours to see if he was ready. They said they would call me back and I never heard back from them. An hour later I called and the girl said she forgot to call me that he was ready. Obviously my dog isn't getting good attention there if he's there for 4 hours and they forget to call his owner when he's ready. His hair cut on his face was often uneven the last 2 times I took him there. The last time I took him there he came home and I found a flea on him. That was the straw that broke the camel's back. I feel like the grooming is over priced for the subpar service that me and my dog get there. It's $47 to bathe and groom an 8 lb dog. Which would be a decent price of it was quality service. My dog is special to me and I'm taking my business elsewhere. read more

Super nice employees at this location. Always buy my dog supplies here. Took my dog for a haircut here the first time. I didn't have an appointment and they were very accommodating. They were extremely nice. The bath, haircut, nail clipping, and ear cleaning was pretty cheap - about $50. However, the haircut was pretty horrible. It was uneven and my dog looked just ugly. My puppy used the restroom in his cage there and they explained to me that they picked it up. They were super nice about it (although I'm sure it happens many times a day). Probably won't take him back there for a haircut, but I use it for all food/toys/treats. read more
