I was wowed. I have a super finicky dog when it come to eating food. First time in, I was treated like I had been a customer forever. My dog's teeth were removed and since the surgery I've had such a hard time finding canned dog food she will eat. My vet recommended baby food until I find something she will eat. I just moved to Jupiter two months ago and had the WORST time finding a shop that carried the right food for my cats. I started calling stores and Al, at Healthe Pets Market, offered to special order me the food that I needed. It was perfect, because I had exactly enough to last until the shipment would come in. When his shipment came in, the distributor had left out that bag of food. Al was able to recommend another food by the same manufacturer with nearly identical ingredients (slightly better, I think), and gave me a bag to try and to get me through until more food could be ordered. I also wanted to move my cats to a 50% wet diet, and he was able to show me different kinds of wet food and help me decide what would be the best for my kitties. To top it off, a friend of mine came in with me because she is thinking of creating her own custom diet for her rats, and high quality dog food is one of the recommended ingredients for home-brew rat food. Al was even able to show her different dog foods that her rats might like and sent her home with several samples to test. Today I found out that my oldest cat has a terrible urinary tract infection and needs to drink more water. I did some research and decided that I want a ceramic pet fountain for her. I immediately called Al who, even though he does not have one in stock, is checking with his distributors to see if he can get me a good one. And, since my second cat loves the new dry food he gave me - he set aside a bag with my name on it so that he will be sure to have it when I need it. I've never had a better experience at any pet store. They obviously know their stuff and take the time to help find a good fit for your pet, rather than always recommending the most expensive products. read more

My 18 year old cat has been experiencing multiple symptoms. However, his overall health and vital life energy is basically within 20% or so as when I rescued him 4 years ago. We live in Vero Beach (about an hour away from this pet store), and after seeing 5 - yes, FIVE traditional veterinarians, I was getting desperate. Their advice was to give my cat meds. "The meds will make him comfortable" was their bottom line. Plus, of course, they recommended cat scans and more. Which would require general anesthesia. (not wise for a cat of his age) I was calling around to find out which raw food would be best for my cat. Al, the owner of Healthepets market, answered the phone when I called. He was a fountain of wisdom. He answered my detailed questions. With patience and knowledge. He even recommended some pet stores that were closer to our location. WOW! If you are going to support any local business, this business, this owner deserve your business. The product selection is fantastic! I saw a lot of great brands that I had never seen before, however they do offer a wide variety of typical brands that you find at any pet store. My only downfall with this store was the customer service. When I walked in the first time the employees just looked at me without saying anything and then almost seemed to watch me walk around the store without offering help. I ignored it and continued my shopping and chalked it up to it possibly being the day or just the employees on shift that day. I decided to go back a second time because I found a great food for my cat there and received the same service although this time I decided to ask for help and received a lack luster response basically being "we don't know sorry." He carries a tremendous stock of dog and cat food and if he doesn't have it in stock, he will always search to get it for you. Also they have almost expired dates on many of their foods so be careful. Our golden and cavalier became ill from their food on 3 separate occasions. This is the Whole Foods of pet stores. The store is immaculate and they sell only the highest quality pet foods and products. I buy a specific brand of frozen raw food for my dog. I always find it in stock at HealthePets Market and at the lowest price I've found in all of Palm Beach county. Al, the owner, is very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable.
