We recently took our new dog Elsa to Dr. Gerard for surgery and are very pleased with the results. She is home now and enjoying life as she always did. Prior to Elsa, we used to take our dog Senna to Dr. Gerard and we were so pleased with his treatment of Senna during a difficult time, and we know Senna could not have been better treated. A special THANK YOU to DR. GERARD and his OUTSTANDING STAFF for being there with your sincere love of animals and true professionalism to treat them properly. Larry & Delina Fraley read more

NEVER go here! The Dr cut a chunk out of my cat's leg why taking off a bandage, but reassured me he "didn't do it on purpose" and "groomers do it all the time." My darling baby escaped Sunday and came back unable to walk (his hip was dislocated). I brought him in to see the Dr the next day. Everything was great, I was glad they could see him and trusted they would take care of Asher. Later that day, I was told that they had been unsuccessful putting his hip in place, but had updated his shots and given him a flea bath and treated him for fleas. I went to pick him up, saddened because I knew I would need to take him to a specialist for surgery if there was to be hope of him walking again. I got there, paid my $1100 bill upfront and was then taken to the room where I waited for the Dr. I had spoken to the Dr twice during the day, getting updates on cost and how Asher was doing, so I wasn't surprised that the Dr failed twice in relocating the hip. As he was exiting to get Asher, he told me there had been an incident and Asher was cut while removing the bandages, after the second failed attempt at hip relocation. He brought Asher into the room, pulled my baby out of his cage. I was overcome by grief at the sight of my baby's leg. Asher, who had been at the office all day was now far worse off than when I brought him in. I asked what could be done to make it better he said he didn't "do it on purpose" and he was "sorry." He then kept repeating how he "followed protocol" and blamed my cat's hair. I continued to ask what I should do and he interrupted me and asked "do you want to hear about the medication or not." It was like he didn't really care. No patient plan was given, so I didn't even know how to take care of the new wound. I walked out with only the $1100 receipt and the the medicine in ziplock bags. The next day I had a couple more questions about the accident, during which the Dr explained he had actually cut a chunk of Asher's skin and fur out. He also told me that his "father was an orthopedic surgeon" and so he knew "things like this happen all the time." I am sorry, I expect more from a Dr and if I would have known my Dr accepts accidents as "things that happen all the time" I never would have gone there in the first place. I hope this saves another baby from an accident that scars them in the future. Good luck! read more

I left a review here years ago but had to take it down per my previous employment with another job so I'm putting it back up because I think everyone deserves to know. Although I've never been here, service alone from a phone call to request medical records for a facility I worked at is down the drain. I called to confirm a rabies certificate since their medical documentation is HORRIBLE and the receptionist was so condescending - talking to me as if I didn't know what I was reading and then she had the audacity to complain about my review about her attitude. But Yknow, Florida stuff. Definitely will be writing this for Google as well. Also as a side note it was just comical that I posted this review and the receptionist complained so much about my "unfair" review hope you enjoyed your 3 years of 3.8 stars because this is well deserved 1 star for service alone and honestly reading the reviews, animal hospital is a big yikes. How do you "accidentally" lacerated a patients leg while taking off a bandage? Maybe avoid? Lol read more

Such an amazing doctor and staff! They always go above and beyond to take care of my dogs. I highly recommend them.

Dr Gerard and his staff are so kind and professional as well as compassionate and totally trust them with our fur baby . My dog Royce who has severe allergies and trust you me I have been to several Drs for him who could never get Royce under control for his allergies that my poor baby was itching licking at all hours and so uncomfortable .I was always told Apoquel tried different ways with taking it and nothing . Dr Gerard took the time and always tried to find something else to make my Royce feel better and to me as well as ! There is no quick fix in any diagnosis and it certainly takes a lot of measures to get there. I only trust Dr Gerard and his loving staff to care of my Royce. Thanks for always be so patient with me and Royce and my million questions . Thank You , Kimberly Creighton read more

The staff and Dr. Were fantastic. Dr.Gerard was the best. My cat was in pretty bad shape from allergies and Dr.Gerard worked really hard to get him healthy again. My cat was in a cone for 12 weeks. I want to thank him for all he did. This is Cuddles now. read more

Always accommodating for same day visits and the staff is always so pleasant and kind. I absolutely adore Jupiter Animal Hospital!!

Dr. Gerard Killed My Beloved Rottweiler. Do NOT go there! He diagnosed her with a Sprain, when it was Cancer. Doctors at Emergency Center said it was too late to save her since the Cancer had spread. A simple Cat Scan and Blood Work at her annual Exam in October could have saved her. I was never even offered these tests. I would have paid ANYTHING for a test. My family is devastated ! MISDIAGNOSIS: Dr. Gerard at Jupiter Animal Hospital has cared for our cat and large breed dog for 4 years. Our dog received regular yearly checkups and was mostly given a clean bill of health until about 6 months ago, after developing some intermittent limping and quivering in legs and forearms. She was diagnosed with arthritis and put on anti-inflammatory and weight loss program. Her yearly checkup was in November 2022. Two weeks ago she refused her food and continued to refuse food off and on for several days. We took her in to JAH and I have to say that Dr. Gerard examined her thoroughly but pronounced her OK and repeated blood work. I insisted something was wrong because this was a "chow hound" now refusing food. He said don't force her to eat, she just may not be hungry. He specifically said "She is not dying." A week later she could not walk. Repeated phone calls to Dr. Gerard were not returned. We somehow managed to get our dog to the Pet Emergency Center in Jupiter where she was diagnosed with cancer on right shoulder bone, in chest and on spine. We were in shock but she was in severe pain, unable to walk and we had her euthanized. We further found out that a simple blood test can be done to screen for cancer in older animals and large breed dogs susceptible to it. Dr. Gerard, please LISTEN to your patient's parents, who know their pet best and can recognize when when something is wrong or there is unusual behavior, and perform further diagnostics. Consider implementing cancer blood test in yearly checkups for older animals and the bigger breed dogs. And please return phone calls, we would not insist on speaking to you personally unless it was urgent. We will not be taking our pets to Jupiter Animal Hospital in the future. Our beloved dog was only 5 years old. read more

We've had a great experience with Dr. Morgan and the staff at Jupiter Animal hospital. They have taken care of 3 dogs and a cat with care and compassion. Can often get us in last minute if there is a (non-emergency) issue with one of our fur babies. read more

Doctor Gerard is the first of 5 separate vets to finally diagnose my dog with a specific allergy that is subsequently undetectable now that my dog is on a daily allergy pill. We spent 6 years and thousands of dollars treating him with various tests, foods, topicals, baths etc. etc. In addition to discovering this simple and affordable treatment, he offered his staff to place the ear drops into my dogs ears because I couldn't handle him myself. I visited them DAILY! Two staff members would be available within minutes to hold him down, drip the drops, give a treat and send him on his way. No Charge! Above and beyond is what I say. read more

Had such a great experience yesterday at the Jupiter Animal Hospital. The team there got me in right away and they were incredibly caring. The vets were informed and gave a very helpful treatment plan. Would 100% recommend! read more

Dr Gerard and the whole staff are amazing, wouldn't trust our pups with anyone else!

We've been very happy with the loving care we've received at Jupiter Animal Hospital over the last 8 years. Four of the last eight years was part-time while we still had a home in NY. Brian Gerard personally took our calls from NY to get his advice on health issues with both of our two dogs. I feel negligent in not writing sooner, on September 14th, after a difficult few months with our pup we came to a dreaded crossroads. We knew that our 9 yr old dog was suffering and not likely to continue with any quality of like. We called early that morning asking to be squeezed in for an emergency appointment. We were treated with compassion and kindness and our pup was handled with gentle, loving care on his last day. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Gerard and his wonderful staff. read more

Best grooming services that I have found since I moved here five years ago. I have a goldendoodle and it has not been easy to find a groomer who gets it just right and also listens to my specific preferences. They did all this and more. I found Jupiter Animal Hospital through a recommendation from a friend. I must admit the previous reviews were of concern, BUT I am so happy I did not let other experiences keep me from finding this amazing place. The staff were all friendly and the work was completed in just a couple of hours. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for a great groomer. I was so impressed, I am considering using them for our vet needs. read more

I'm going to try and be nice and give ONE STAR because the staff was nice. Do NOT take your pets to Jupiter Animal Hospital in Jupiter, ever. They are a RIP OFF! When we first moved to Jupiter we were looking for vets in the area to have heartworm tests done on our 2Chihuahuas and a consult for dental cleanings. Well, the heartworm tests were like $60 freaking bucks PER DOG.....and they quoted us over $1k (ONE THOUSAND) per dog for their teeth cleanings because they "needed" an exorbitant number of teeth extracted, blah blah blah...gonna leave my dogs basically toothless. WHAAAAAAT?! NO!!! SO, We took them back to our AWESOME vet in Boynton Beach (Best Vet, Dr. Armstrong) who did the teeth cleaning, extracted a couple of teeth (no where near the # of the the other Dr. was claiming) gave them a parvo shot they needed, gave them their antibiotics, and we bought a case of dog food for just under $500! The other Dr. wanted just over $2k for just the teeth cleaning and extractions!!!!!!!! Now fast forward....I needed Heartworm pills so I ordered them on 1800petmeds website. They require the Dr. who performed the heartworm test to send in a prescription. So, i send them the vet's info to get approval and they approved the pills under Vixen's name. I go last week to order said pills again under Sookie's name and this vets office calls me to say they will not approve it because supposedly 1800petmeds is a blackmarket business yada yada...but I can come get them from them. AGAIN, WHHAAAAAT?! FU@K YOU, no! DO NOT GO THERE. read more

I too, as others on here, must defend Dr. Gerard and his office. It took us a while to find this office after many not so great experiences with other vets. I have never thought the bills were out of line with other vet bills I have had. I do know that having animals is expensive and you often get what you pay for. I choose to treat our animals as true members of our family and I know they are in the best hands here. Thank you Dr. Gerard for being authentic and truthful...please keep doing what you do!!! Lucy and Asha love you...thank you for your dedication read more

Excellent first class vet that is open 24 hours. My dog got very ill and we rushed her to Jupiter Animal Hospital. They took her right in, diagnosed her issue and gave me an estimate for her care. They treated her and she's back to normal. Very caring staff and veterinarians. They are my new vet. read more

Jupiter Animal Hospital is my beagle's 2nd home. Chloe and our family absolutely trust the team. They have a passion for what they do, they are professional, friendly, compassionate, and so much fun to be around. Jupiter Animal Hospital is always available for our pet's needs. They provide stellar care for Chloe, groom her to perfection biweekly, are available to educate us, and offer a safe place for our family to board her, if needed. Additionally, I have pet insurance for our beagle and the team promptly submits invoices for reimbursement. Thank you for the first class service you provide and the love you all give to our Chloe. :) read more

Dr Gerard is the kindest , most compassionate , honest , professional vet I have ever met . He's very low key & does not overly prescribe meds , tests or xrays . . Dr. Gerard and staff took great care of my dog for many years. They are all very professional and caring, and I highly recommend them. My dog was always willing to go there for grooming, boarding or for an appointment. Dr. and staff were always so tender and knowledgeable, and returned any phone calls promptly. My sweet dog Chase recently passed, and they were all so supportive and helped me deal with my grief. If I ever get another dog, I will definitely be returning to Dr. Gerard and his staff at Jupiter Animal Hospital. read more

Dr. Gerard has been caring for our dogs for the six years we have been in Jupiter. He is the best vet we have ever had. He actually gets down on the floor with the dogs, and they love him. He puts everyone at ease with his calm demeanor. He helped us when we had to put one of our dogs down. Even in this most difficult time, he and his staff, made it as positive an experience as was possible. He is very kind and compassionate, and he has treated all of our dogs with loving care. I highly recommend Dr. Gerard at Jupiter Animal Hospital. read more

Reading all the bad reviews make me a little sad because I think this place is far from a rip off and a GREAT place to bring your animal!!!! I just recently bought a Blue French Bulldog and started going to this vet, as my mom recommended it since she takes our Golden Retriever here. Do not base an entire business off of one vet you see, I have been scheduled with two other vets and will say I didn't love them as much as I do Dr. Gerard!!! He tells it how it is and takes his time with each visit. I asked probably a million questions (since I'm a new dog owner) and he made sure to carefully explain each and every question without rushing me out of the room and even made sure that I had all questions satisfied. He sits down with my dog on the floor and makes sure its comfortable before just stabbing it with a shot, he tells his personal stories and makes it a great time at the vet. My mom had requested to get the flu shot for both our dogs (since we had brought them in together) and Dr. Gerard came in and insisted we didn't need them and explained why (therefore backing up my point that THIS PLACE IS NOT A RIP OFF). If we needed the shots he would have told us, but our dogs don't really interact with many other dogs or board anywhere. Instead of insisting we get every shot in the book to spend even more money he insured we only got what was needed. He even offers some money off when doing everything all at once! Love it here and the lady at the front desk, Lisa, is phenomenal and makes waiting in the room at lot less boring!!! read more

Dr. Gerard and the whole staff took great care of our puppy, Cali, during her spay procedure and surgery to correct her cherry eye. They are always helpful when we call or email with questions, and we have plenty of them as new puppy parents. They also helped us save some money by suggesting a more cost effective medication option for flea, tick and heart worm where our old vet had us purchase separate meds for each at a higher cost. Nothing but good things to say about Jupiter Animal Hospital. read more

Dr Gerard from Jupiter Animal Hospital really disappointed my family. We boarded our cat Rocky there for the weekend of September 25 - September 28 2020. Rocky is a diabetic cat. Dr Gerard knew this. He also performed a Glucose Curve on Rocky on Friday September 25, 2020. Over the weekend, Rocky became very ill, while under the care of Jupiter Animal Hospital. Dr Gerard was blithely unaware, and quite frankly didn't care. On the morning of Monday 28 September we got our little furry friend back but he was so horribly ill. Apparently he was vomiting all night long at Dr Gerard's Jupiter Animal Hospital, but he was not attended to. Within hours of getting Rocky back home, we rushed him off to Veterinary Specialty Hospital (VSH). They were shocked at the neglect Rocky had experienced. As it turns out, Rocky presented with Diabetic Ketoacidosis - a life-threatening condition. He was hospitalized at VSH for 4 nights, with thousands of dollars in bills. Dr Gerard's words over the phone were, 'I stand behind my staff' . An absolute pig of a man. Do not under any circumstances take your animals to this vet. You will not receive the care for them that they deserve. If you love your fur babies then take them to VSH or Harmony Animal Clinic, or Furry Friends. Do not, I repeat, Do not take them to Dr Gerard. read more

Very pricey! They gave me a coupon for a free office visit at an event. The catch was they only do so much on the initial visit and want to schedule additional follow-up visits where they can charge you the office visit fee. I took my dog for a check-up and they didn't want to do the vaccinations at that time. 5 Days later when I took my dog to be groomed, they notified me she would need her vaccinations 1st before they could groom her and they had to charge me a $45 office visit to give her a rabies shot. The total bill to have her groomed was going to be $250 once they added the vaccinations and the office visit. They never mentioned any of this until I showed up for my appointment. read more

NEVER NEVER NEVER GO HERE!!! THEY LIE AND AND CHEAT TO GET YOUR MONEY! Sleep deprived from our new puppy's nighttime howling for a week, I came to this Animal Hospital mistaking it for North County Animal Hospital just down the street. I informed the receptionist that I had an appointment, and that we were sent here by A Second Chance Puppies. The receptionist nodded agreeably, took my information, and then the puppy was given an exam and lots of suggestions were made for additional treatments. I nodded in agreement and was presented with a $151 bill! Imagine my shock as I had been informed by A Second Chance Puppies that my first visit to the vet was free! It was at that moment that I realized something was wrong. I went home to check my records and discovered to my dismay that I had gone to the wrong animal hospital. I had just been duped of $151 by Jupiter Animal Hospital!! I called them up to complain and was informed that this was my problem, not theirs, that I should have known. When I asked the receptionist why she had not informed me that my scheduled appointment was not on their books, she just said, well, we get lots of walk in's ... UNBELIEVABLE. I learned my lesson. I could never ever trust them to be honest and will never take my puppy there again. Fortunately, when I called North County Animal Hospital they were very agreeable and are going to try to help me recoup some of my costs. Lauri Olivier read more

I needed immediate attention for a cat Friday afternoon and although I received the same answer from this clinic as I did all others I called (we are closing soon) they did say they would take this cat the next morning at 10:30 a.m. I explained to them the cat must remain in the carrier until seen and would probably be sitting in its own urine and could they see it first thing in the morning? No, they said, 10:30 a.m. was the best they could do?! I did find a clinic (Animal Med Cntr of Jupiter) that took my cat first thing, provided exceptional care at at good price! I read several other reviews here that were negative about Dr. Gerard...and how this place is all about money. I'm sorry but I completely disagree and I must come to this vets defense. I moved to Florida 3 years ago and in that time needed to bring my senior citizen dog in several times to see Dr. Gerard. I initially brought him there because I didn't know where else to go being new to town but I had a very pleasant experience and chose to back again and again. Of course no vet is ever really cheap but never once did I feel like I was being taken or overcharged. As a matter of fact once I asked him if he could take an xray of my dog for a particular problem and he said no, he didn't want to waste my money because he already knew what the problem was. He could have just done the xray, I would have never known the difference. Another time my dog had worms, which was confirmed and they just gave me medication and didn't even charge me for an office visit. Another time I brought my cat for a urinary infection and I suggested they sedate her because she goes WILD. They didn't though....they made it through exam without it. Dr. Gerard specifically said he didn't want to traumatize her more....they could have just done it and charged me for it especially because I asked for it and all other prior vets have done that. This seems like good care to me. Not money driven. Twice my dog had infected teeth and needed extractions. He was in pain with a swollen face. I admit this was not a cheap day for me both times...but that is not Dr Gerard specific, that's what happens when you have an older dog that has a lot of wear and tear. It's like a human trip to the dentist, not cheap either. Dr. Gerard seems so nice, personable and caring in my opinion. I'm glad my dog has him in his last few years. If he is only out for money, I must be blind. Very professional and never seems rushed. The staff is always so nice and friendly too especially the assistant , I wish I could remember her name. She is so kind to my dog, like he's her own. I really like this office and feel terrible someone would say something negative! read more

We have a 10 year old Airedale with a large growth on her tail. We needed a new veterinarian and took a chance on Jupiter animal hospital. I can honestly say that I do not get these negative reviews on yelp that sound like adult tantrums!! My experience with Jupiter Animal Hospital has been unbelievable. I had a 14 year old dog Maggie, the love of my life, with heart issues and we were frequent flyers. I was always greeted by office staff in person or over the phone with warmth, efficiency, and high regard. Dr. Gerard went above and beyond for my family, as the last years of her care were intense and only highlighted the stellar communication, care and concern for everyone involved. I was always given options and told the expense of a procedure or medication prior to application. The same goes in the dealings with our 4 month old puppy. We would not go anywhere else and thank you for all you do!! read more
