We have been going to see Matt for about a year now to groom our Samoyed. If you've never seen one of these before they look like a giant puff ball of cotton. We had heard great reviews about Matt but that barely scratched the surface for how we feel about him. He always does exactly what we ask with extreme care and precision and Peeka is always really excited to see him! He is so attentive to our asks and always encourages us to come back within a few days if there is anything we want adjusted. We've never had a single thought of going back because he gets it right every time! Samoyeds are very docile so they are not difficult to groom but we've had some terrible groomers in the past that don't understand their coats so "risking" her beauty by just anyone wasn't in the cards for us. My biggest complaint about this store (although visually it is just not a welcoming store) is the birds. They have these BEAUTIFUL birds - Opaline Quaker - Green cheek conures and they are stuck in these cages with one, maybe two toys. It is a TRAGEDY to treat these beautiful, intelligent animals this way. They should have toys to the gills in their cages. I dont know if they want them to interact with the few people that pass by but it is cruel and unusual punishment for these animals. As a quick note, Petco did respond to this and say that they would reach out to the store manager. I went to the same store three weeks later and absolutely nothing changed. Still one toy and each birdcage. It is clearly evident that Petco doesn't care. I wouldn't buy my pet supplies from a company that simply doesn't care. Food for thought. read more

i'm sure this store is great for dogs and cats, but for aquatic animals? Horrific. My friend got three fish from this petco and didn't even have them for 3 days before they died. Her ph and temperature were correct, and she had been feeding them. I got an african dwarf frog from this petco, and he died after 6 days. He showed signs or sickness from the first day i brought him home and would not eat. My temperature and ph were also correct, and i tried feeding him two different foods. When i was at petco to get this frog, i saw at least two tanks with dying, sickly fish. All of the tanks looked dirty and minimally cared for. Do not buy fish or frogs from this disgusting petco. read more

I am SO thankful to have found Blanca R., at the natick location grooming salon. (I used to go to petsmart Framingham but, the difficult "salon leader" Gina was often rude & gave wrong information, repeatedly & didn't care at all when I told her that another groomer was mean to my dog & so, i had finally had enough & left) I decided to try petco natick & booked with Blanca. She is the best! So knowledgeable, caring, honest, lovely! This is really hard to find in a groomer, in my opinion (I am sure that there are many great groomers around, please do not get me wrong but, I had really struggled to find one before I had found Blanca) She did such a great job with my nervous little sweet dog. I have been taking my dog to see Becca for about a year now. He is always so happy to see her, and she always knows exactly how to cut his hair! I can only speak for aquatic section as I only have fish as pets. I always had mixed opinions about Petco in general and this store, but Eddie changed all that. First the aquatic section is immaculate with all tanks sparkling clean. The assortment of fish in both was next level. I came in for just a turbo snail, but he just ordered some fish and crustaceans that I just could not help myself but purchase. He had a lot of knowledge and was very helpful making the purchase feel very worthwhile. The biggest challenge I have with Petco aquatics is the sales process, but Eddie's customer service deserves 6 stars. read more

Absolute worst Petco I've ever been to, and I've been to 30+. My wife, 2 year old boy and dog went to get a fish because my son has been wanting one. While looking at different Beta fish, two dogs jumped the "training" area fence and literally attacked my defenseless dog. TWO "un-trained" dogs were on top of my well trained dog biting and growling, teaming up on him. I pushed my two year old aside and pulled one of the dogs off of my dog - someone else pulled the other one off. This is EXTREMELY careless. My dog being attacked is enough grounds for being furious, however what if the dogs attacked my son instead? I will never forget this - my whole family was traumatized and the staff was hardly apologetic - we were offered a free toy for our dog..really? The lack of management to come to our attention speaks volumes of this store. When you take on training vicious dogs, you best make sure they can't get lose. I plan to take his up with the higher- ups of Petco. My wife overheard one of the staff members saying that my wife had screamed too loud. As a business owner and someone that expects quality service, this was mind-blowing on so many different levels. read more

Matt was an amazing groomer and I greatly miss him at this Petco. Becca now does a great job with my pup as well. HOWEVER, every time I want to get my dogs nails trimmed i'm told it's walk in service so just show up and we will do it for him. Today was the third time I showed up at 4pm and all the groomers had already left..... Do they not understand some people have 9-5s??! Each time i'm greeted with the monotone half brained response of the pathetic sales clerks that the groomer already left and they "usually leave around this time." Ummm I don't think that's how it works... if the grooming times are listed as open until 7pm, not being there at 4 is unacceptable. Sadly I will have to go to a different (and hopefully far more professional place.) Also this petco is outdated and dirty as hell anyway. read more

GROOMING: Today(Sunday) I showed up for my dachshunds grooming appointment scheduled with Matt. Apparently he called out of work bailing out on all of todays grooming appointments, including mine.i was not even called to be notified. Horrible experience! Got my little Yorkie here today and the technician and the manager were super rude. Told me in order to clean around my dogs eyes they had to cut the hair. She looks fine just some eye gunk, no knots or anything else. I didn't want the hair in the face cut off, that's all. She basically rudely told me she couldn't do anything and walked away ! IT'S WORCESTER STREET!!! WHY oh WHY do half of the businesses throughout the Natick Retail Zone (the Golden Triangle) say that they are on Worcester Road! Natick is Worcester Street and Framingham is Worcester Road! Seriously, so annoying. And if you aren't from the area, putting Worcester Rd in any GPS will lead you ten minutes down the road deep into Framingham! Just for the fact that the employees here DON'T care (I've literally called EVERY DAY for the last month) about getting it fixed, two stars will be automatically dropped. Such bad customer service! Anyway, I was shopping in this plaza, and while I prefer Petsmart (especially since their address is CORRECT!), was not really in the mood to battle the traffic on the highway, even if I was only less than a mile. My car was parked in between this store and Five Below, so I didn´t even need to move my car to stop here quickly. Petco in Natick is a convenient spot to shop at if you're in this plaza or looking for some of the best prices. While I prefer Petsmart, it beats Pet World (across the parking lot) for what I purchase here and has been remodeled. The store could still use work, and hasn't been changed as severely as some other stores (still dirty floors, and not as developed renovation), but it has all the basic things you'd need for a dog, cat, bird, or other animal, and a decent area of fish and other small animals they sell. Service is friendly and they are barely ever that busy. Grooming available too! 3 stars for now... will be four if they fix the address! read more

This place is like most other petcos. They lack knowledgeable people in the aquatics department. Then again, they lack knowledgeable people in their corporate office as well as their planograms call for mixing fish that cannot be mixed. Then again, being a corporate giant, Petco doesn't care about the fish. They care about the dog and cat owners who buy big expensive bags of dog food or go for their grooming. This one is one of the bad ones. I have been in some that do care about the well-being of the fish. read more

What's not to like about a place that permits you to bring your furry friend in with you? They host a puppy play time and are extremely nice when your overexcited pooch drops a smelly deuce at play time. Haven't tried the grooming out yet. Nice people who like pets work there. I cannot speak for their grooming services because i very rarely do that at Petco. In terms of their service, i found it fantastic. I was walking through the store and the salespeople were kind enough to take the bag of food i was carrying up to the register. This gave me the ability to look around the store for other items I was looking for. They also offered to carry the item out to my car. Mind you, this all happened 30 minutes before closing on New Years Eve. read more

At this Natick location the Groomers say they squeeze your dogs anal glands but they don't. I took my dog there last month and he was scooting. I specifically asked Britney if she would and she said yes but he was still scooting afterwards. I even called to ask if she forgot but she told me she did do it. I brought him to the vet the next day for an unrelated issue and they said his anal glands were completely full. Ill never trust these people again. read more

I go this petco all the time to get crickets today was o e the worst experiences ever. The customer service was slow. The person working the front was rude and nasty. She was not happy to be there. They are dog training while working the register and snapped at all the customers for petting her dog. If she does not want her dog touched should have it behind the register. read more

One of the most uninviting,dirty,pet stores i've ever been in. Just plain nasty in every respect. Dull lighting,empty displays,no salespeople,cracked floors,etc. My biggest complaint is about the animals-none of the fish tanks are lit,so you can't even see the fish. The tanks are filthy. The saltwater fish are a joke-6 tanks,maybe 3 fish. The glass is so covered w/algae that you can barely make them out. They have a beautiful guinea pig-huge and in a tank way to small for him. Two gorgeous birds-look half dead. Four doves in a ferret cage. Mice-21 in one cage crawling over each other,3/4 high and the cage covered in mouse poop. This store is an embarrassment and inhumane. When i left a woman was bringing out her dog after having ti groomed. Why would you bring your dog here after the first impression of walking in here. The place needs to be shut down asap. read more

Every grooming experience is a poor one. For example, on my last visit I asked for, "the same thing that they did last time." They only did half of what was done last time, so his teeth weren't even brushed. When I asked when picking him up, the groomer's "fix" was to squirt some breath freshener in his mouth. I only go if every other place is booked since Petco never is...for good reason. read more

The people/trainers in the Natick Petco are good. I can't say enough about one of the trainers who participates in doggie playtime. But avoid the grooming salon... We brought our small dog for a nail trim, and they were awful. They had trouble restraining him. It took three people to get his nails trimmed. 2/3 were not affectionate at all. read more

I just adopted the third dog in my life. (I only own one at a time). Brought the dog if for obedience class, I had adopted from a rescue league, and I knew he needed lots of training. Hayley was the best obeisance trainer, I have experienced, and she was my third. She really knows her stuff. A month after my last class, you would think my dog had years of training. He is my welcome shadow, and perfect house guest. There are obedience trainers, and then there is Hayley. Might as well go with the best. read more

So I came here for a bath for my 12-pound anxious but lovely, friendly puppy. I had had a great experience at a different Petco in another state, and had previously only been to PetSmart for grooming here in the Natick/Framingham area. I assumed this would be great since the Petco grooming in my home state had been so much better than anywhere else. ALAS, I dropped off my beautiful, harmless pup for a bath, anal gland ...you know..., and nail trim. They said it could be up to three hours, got a call a half hour later because my would-never-hurt-a-fly dog was "being aggressive" and I'd "need to pick her up immediately. My dog may bark and her heckles might go up, but she doesn't bite and when she barks, it's because SHE'S threatened. Clearly the groomers here don't know dogs. I will never go back here, and I encourage all pet owners to find somewhere else. The groomers here are unfriendly, and they made me feel like had raised my 2-year-old chihuahua mix puppy for vicious dog fights. They should understand they work in a scary environment for pets, and they should do SO MUCH MORE to make the pets feel safe. Absolutely the worst pet grooming location I've ever been to. (And you better believe I talked to the store manager and called the Petco company to complain about this problem. On July 17th I stopped into this location while trying to kill some time before I ran another errand. There are many different but similar stores like Petsmart. I realized I hadn't been into Petco. After our visit I need to give a huge shout out to the staff working that morning. Not only did our Percy boy get the most loving welcome but it got attention from every member working. I have NEVER had so much attention from employees working at pet stores. They really made me feel like they had a genuine love for animals. Very very cool. Imagine how horrified I was when my 8mnth old boxer decided to pee in a store for the first time too! The same employee who gave our pup the best hello kindly reminded me that it happens and was nice as I was so embarrassed! Another helped me find what I came in for and the clerk at the register also loved on our sweet boy and fed him another treat with love. Super impressed with you guys! A co-worker recommended me to bring my Yorkie poodle for grooming to Petco in Natick, and so I did yesterday. For the first time in 8 months, since I got my puppy he was groomed exactly as the Yorkie should be groomed and looks wonderful. The groomer name was FELICIA, and she did a great job! read more

Haley was fantastic with my 6 month chihuahua in obedience class (and believe me he wasnt obedient prior). He now follows our commands and is very well behaved. The puppy play time supervised by Haley in the store also has done wonders with our puppies socialization skills. He welcomes play with any friendly dog OF ANY SIZE, which in his case at 5lbs is usually bigger. read more

I have been using Natick Petco's Grooming Salon for a few years now and I must say they have always been sort of non caring it seemed, it was just a close location to my home.. but recently they have really made me feel at home there, the girls in the salon are always happy to see my pooch and they are all verry nice and caring! i almost didnt go back there becasue of the attitude the woman with the short blond hair gave me but i have not seen her again and the girl with the long brown hair grooms my dog now and she is verry nice and always tells me how he did verry well! long story short all the girls in there are great and me and my family are verry happy customers! 5stars for a homey feel! read more

Bad dog groomers and worse customer service. They cancelled an appointment at the last minute, never called to reschedule and when we finally got back in, the solitary groomer,who had several dogs waiting and looked extremely frazzled, refused to groom my dog because he was "too matted" (he had a very unfortunate neck injury and couldn't be brushed well or groomed for several weeks, so he did have some matting). We called our vet and made an appointment with the local groomer they recommended. It turned out being refused by the inexperienced and overworked groomer at Petco was the best thing that could have happened. The new groomer was able to get the tangles out of my dogs coat without shaving him (which Petco had insisted was impossible). They gave him an adorable cut and charged significantly less than Petco. The one positive thing I can say about Petco is that they have the decency to have poor enough service to drive their customers away from their lousy work and high prices. So, thanks for that, Petco. read more
