My dog loves Camp Bow Wow. This is my 3rd dog to go there and each loved it. I watch her a lot on the Live Cam to see what she is up to. She goes in and out, plays with other dogs when she wants, and lays to rest when tired. My dog stayed overnight for the first time this weekend (I have used the overnight service with my Beagle), and she did wonderfully. She came back happy and exhausted (YES!). The prices are reasonable, and I love that they have a Boarding package that includes daycae the day before and the day after. I also love their hours. read more

I had been a long time customer until a video surfaced with an employee taking a swipe at a dog. Additionally precautions are not taken in extreme heat. I requested a refund for the balance on my account of $180.90 and the owner said she would give me $1.86 less all of her "charges." No thank y ou. We started to send our dog here when his old daycare closed and he absolutely loves it. He sits by the door whenever we say "time to go to camp". The staff is super friendly and professional. Plus the lobby is cleaner compared to other doggy daycares I've been too. The cameras on the app are a nice bonus so we can check in throughout the day. read more

We had a terrible experience at this location after years of using camp bow wow down south and my dogs absolutely loving it. I truly can't express how disappointed I am and how bad I feel for my dogs that I boarded them here for the weekend. Thank god for camper cams to screen shot proof. 1) cards are not suppose to be charged until pick up incase the dogs need to get picked up early for various reasons, grooming sessions don't or can't happen .. which for us was the case this visit.. etc.. they even said I'd pay at pick up .. but halfway through the visit the invoice came through which included grooming but at pickup the nail clipping and Baths had not happened so they prematurely charged the card and seemed annoyed when I asked for a refund .. in fact the exact thing they said was "you're awful!" .. 2) my 12 pound terrier got put in with the medium : large dog play pen and when I asked about it they said it never happened .. even though I had screen shots .. and then gaslit me and said "they are the same size.. they were all large dog breeds .. It was almost laughable .. they then backtracked and said well those dogs are use to being around small dogs and their tempers can handle it and your small dog was safe to be in with them even though it takes seconds for a big dog to attack a small dog and kill it and they wouldn't have been able to stop it. And then further made excuses saying "well we were busy , it was fall break" .. not to mention them fully catching themselves with the temper comment admitting to breaking camp bow wow rules that says they need to be put in play pens by similar size. 3) my large dog gets nervous the first day, but the precious location always reassured me she was ok, that she goes in the kennel for a bit to get settled the first day, then she gets slowly introduced to the groups of dogs and the rest of the visit she's totally fine however I noticed on the camper cameras that she was isolated by herself in a play pen the entire time and when asked about that they said it was because the previous location told them she got into a dog fight and can't be around other dogs and when I mentioned they had never told me about an altercation they blamed the previous location on being money hungry and not being transparent so I don't stop bringing my dogs. I called the previous location and they confirmed with me my big dog had never gotten into a dog fight or altercation at any point and they never told them that and if she had they wouldn't have let her stay for safety of other dogs and they fire dogs all the time and they promise my dog had never done that. My dogs always left the previous location happy and healthy.. and groomed. 4) When I originally called about my big dog being isolated they said they can't put my small dog in a large dog play pen because he can escape the outdoor play area of those play pens but he had been in another large dog play area which I covered in issue #2.. and I asked why any of the play pens had any room for any dog to escape and then they backtracked and said "they can't" but had already admitted they could and realized they were digging themselves into a hole because 1 employee was being honest about it..but the other 2 were not 5) as they were getting my dogs to bring them out I heard my little dog yelping in pain behind the doors and asked them why my dog was yelping and instead of looking into it the female at the front desk said "that wasn't your dog, we have over a hundred dogs here, you can't tell that was your dog" as if that made it any better .. not only do I know my dogs and what they sound like but even if it was someone else's dog, why are they so ok with a dog being in pain and thinking that's acceptable. We just brought our dogs in for an interview, as we're transferring from another location after moving out of that area. We have used three other Camp Bow Wow locations and had great experiences. It is why we opted to try the Bellingham location though it is not very convenient for us (40 minute drive). The drive was worth knowing they would be somewhere they were comfortable with. We couldn't have been more wrong. They took our two dogs back to the play area and slowly started letting other dogs into that room. Everything was fine. They ran around and played with the others, no problem. Then, they let a large golden retriever into the room, who immediately fixated on one of our dogs who is less than half the golden's weight/size. It started jumping on our dog and would not leave him alone. As we watched on the cameras in the lobby, our dog tried wriggling to get the golden off of him, and barking to express fear. He ran to the other side of the room a few times but any time he came back to the area where all the dogs were, the golden would start jumping on him and lunging. Our dog did bark at that point and immediately was sprayed in the face over and over with a water bottle by the handler. Our dogs were in the room with this golden for less than 2 minutes. At no point did they try removing the golden to see if it would improve how nervous our dog was. They just removed ours. They came out and told us that our dog was "being loud" (if barking is a crime, then every other dog should be disallowed as well), and growling (wouldn't you, being crushed and lunged at?), and being "snippy" which we absolutely did not see on the camera. They told us we should try another day (after we'd driven 40 minutes and been given less than 10 minutes total, 8 of which were totally uneventful, 2 of which our dog was being jumped on repeatedly by a dog twice his size). The option to wait a few minutes or try again without the golden in the room we're never offered. I took our dogs out to the car and my husband went back to discuss with the staff. They pulled the video back up, which revealed the repeated spraying in the face of our dog by the handler, the other dog being extremely hyper and jumping, and our dog barking and running away. The staff member playing back the video said "well we know Trevor (golden) is a little crazy." So you admit that this dog is the overactive one! The most frustrating thing is that the Camp Bow Wow locations apparently don't communicate with each other, so four years of history at multiple locations with zero incidents means nothing when transferring to a new location. But now I feel like our dog has been given a scarlet letter by the staff who made snap judgements and did nothing to help him when he was clearly scared of a much larger dog. Will absolutely not be back. Don't waste your time here. If you have a small dog, better hope they're okay being trampled on and don't show the even the slightest sign of distress, or they'll be black listed too. read more

Then he stayed for the day, where we were able to watch him play on their live streaming. Our little guy is absolutely pooped from playing all day long. The worst experience ever during a very difficult time in my life. We decided to bring our 8 month puppy there as my mother was dying and I needed to travel back and forth long distance. I had also just lost my son 7 months prior. After a few days at the day care my puppy was bit in the back leg resulting in a fractured growth place. We had to keep him medicated for 8 weeks, while he had a rod put in and later taking out. As there is a contract that you sign that states if your dog injures another dog you would be held responsible we assumed we would be reimbursed. I just want people to be aware that this doggy day care will not help you make sure this happens. They are unsympathetic and don't seem to care about really making sure people are held responsible. They gave us the other dog owners phone number and it was on us to try to get a hold of her, which we haven't been able to do. It has been a year now. I spoke to the owner Sally Winter today and explained what was going on in my life while this occurred, she kept interrupting and told me "well my father died and my uncle has stage 4 brain cancer, life happens and we just have to move on." I realize that the owner of the other dog ultimately is responsible but the lack of empathy and care about this situation blows my mind. I just want to share my experience with others. read more

I was promised the live web cams so we could check in with our dogs while we were away. Our dogs were never once visible. When we called to question, the staff got "snippy" and defensive. The staff members do not interact with the dogs, they just carry a spray bottle around and walk laps around the pens. Sally, the owner, is NOT a pleasant woman to interact with, she seems like a miserable person and she is completely rude. Beware. I had used this place several times for day play and overnight boarding for my 80 lb doodle. One day I got a communication from them that my dog had received some injuries. I asked them to take my dog to the vet and they said they were not able to do that. I was out of town and I was concerned that my dog would not receive any medical treatment. When I picked my dog up he had puncture wounds to his face and neck. This was several years ago, but with Ollie's Law still under consideration I would like to point out that this facility seemed to lack procedures for treatment of injured dogs and after this incident I never returned to this facility and will only board overnight at my vet's boarding facility. read more

Strongly advise against bringing your dogs here for any type of service. My husband and I have been bringing our two dogs to multiple camp bow wows for years and have never experienced an issue. Our dogs are usually greeted by name with open arms. We travel frequently and have always entrusted camp bow wow to take good care of our dogs. We picked up our dogs yesterday after a two night stay. No issues were brought to our attention and we thanked the staff as we checked out like always. I was even able to book them again this morning for a long weekend for the 4th. Shortly after receiving confirmation of the reservation, my husband informed me that he received a call from camp bow wow letting him know that one of our dogs was no longer welcome at this camp. The associate he spoke with informed him that our dog was incurring "damages". When asked exactly what these damages were, the associate would not go into further detail. As I said, we have been taking our dogs to camp bow wows for years, and specifically this location for months. Needless to say, we have spent a considerable amount of money there and thought we were doing what was best for our dogs. I called camp bow wow and spoke with an associate named, Brendan, who continued to tell me that our dog continues to "damage" the suite he stays in and his manager would no longer allow it. I can only assume this means that our dog had an accident where he is staying. None the less, camp bow wow is supposed to be a dog day care/boarding facility, and in that sort of business it would be expected that there would be frequent accidents. I am having a hard time understanding why this is cause for expulsion of my dog. Needless to say, certainly, if this was a recurring issue for my dog I would hope that it would have been brought to my husband or I's attention so we could try to work out a solution. When I asked, Brendan why we were never informed of this issue, he adamantly attempted to correct me stating that both my husband and I were told on multiple occasions of this issue. When I informed him we were absolutely never made aware of this, he continued to tell me how wrong I was. I questioned why we were not informed yesterday at time of pick up that our dog was being expelled from camp based on this issue. He informed me that he was actually the associate who checked us out last night and was "sorry" he didn't say anything. I asked to speak to a manager and he informed me that the manager was not available but that he was sure "she was going to tell me the same thing that he had already told me". I informed him that I did not feel like this situation was being handled professionally and that I have never had an issue with my dogs at any boarding facility before. He quickly ended the conversation and stated he would have to have someone call me back. I have never experienced such terrible customer service. Camp Bow Wow Bellingham gives all the other franchises of this company a terrible name. Clearly, they are more focused on making money rather than the care and well being of the dogs they take in. read more

I Googled Bellingham Camp Bow Wow to look up their hours and saw the other review which was bad. I HAD to write one because in my experience, Bellingham Camp Bow Wow is GREAT. My 2 dogs visit on average 2x per week for usually a half day or so...so by now, its over 100 visits. The dogs pull the leashes (yes, bad behavior) to go to the door because they can't WAIT to get there to play with the other dogs. They say dogs don't lie... I've used them for overnight boarding several times also and have had great experiences with that aspect of their business also. The staff is always friendly, and obviously care about dogs...can't recommend them highly enough. read more

BREEDIST. The second I walked into this place I could tell the guy behind the desk didn't like my dog, a pit mix. My dog's "assessment" was less than 5 minutes and I was told he couldn't stay because he wouldn't let one dog sniff him and bared his teeth. If that did happen, and I'm doubtful it did, maybe the employee's anxious energy had something to do with that? I had heard many great things about Camp Bow Wow and was very excited to bring my Yellow Lab Blu there. He was a Rescue, and had gotten shots at the Pound where we adopted him. We have also brough Blu to our local Vet who checked him out 3 months ago to verify that the Rescue checked everything, and he was still in good health. I was told by Camp Bow Wow I would receive some paperwork in the mail before I dropped him off. I never received the paperwork or a follow up call of any kind. So I figured I had all the vet paperwork and I was all good. When I showed up for the 9:30 apt I was so excited that Blu would get to play all day, and I could stay late at work to take care of some things instead of rushing home to get to Blu. When I got to Camp Bow Wow, and after filling out multiple pieces of paperwork, and showing them all the different paperwork I had from the Vets showing that he recieved all his vaccinations I was told that Blu had never recieved a Bordetella shot. Even though he had been to two different Vets, and had every other shot. I was told I had to bring Blu home, and he could not go to camp that day. My issue is that I was never sent any paperwork, or received a follow up call. My suggestion to Camp Bow Wow is to send a packet with all the required shots etcs before anyone brings their dog for the first time. If I had some paperwork with all the required shots I could have reference that agains my paperwork, and determined he needed the shot. My suggestion for anyone signing a dog up for Camp Bow Wow for the rist time would be to make sure they contact Camp Bow Wow to find out exactly what is required by them. This rating is based on their customer service alone, which caused me great inconvience. I cannot rate on the actual Camp since Blu was unable to attend the Camp. read more

We tried CBW-Bellingham on a whim. It's been hands down the best choice we've made for our pup to date. She gets an abundance of socialization, has a great time, and we can even check up on her from time to time. Koda absolutely lives spending time at camp. We highly recommend for day camp. We have yet to try overnight boarding or training sessions but we expect the experience to be on par with everything else read more

I feel like I uncovered a gem. Prior to my dog visiting they required vaccinations/ neutered or spayed. I made an appointment for my boy. Stated they needed to interview my dog to see how he would be with other dogs. Stated it could take up to three hours if all went well. I was apprehensive at first due to a bad experience with My Lucky ( unlucky) Dog, in Smithfield, RI, see my review on that dump. Upon arrival the place was clean. Professional decor. No odors, mildew, mold or anything else that I had experienced before. I was greeted by a gentleman that had a T-shirt that is required by staffing members (professional). He explained the process of the interview. He took my dog and came back and said he was doing great. If I wanted him to stay for three hours to completed interview process it was ok. I asked him if I could see him. He said, sure. We have web cams up on the wall. You can also download the app to your phone for the web cam too. The other employee had given me a folder with all the information I needed to know regarding Camp Bow Wow. This place was totally transparent! I felt completely at ease leaving my boy here. I decided that this was the place for him to be. I left for the three hours. I went shopping and just checked in on him with my phone using the web cam app.. I picked him up. My boy received a certificate of completion of his interview! He did great! This will be his new home away from home. read more

I am extremely happy with the way they treat my dogs when I bring them there. The staff goes above and beyond with all the dogs there. I don't go there as often as I would like but when I do go they always remember my dogs little quirks, like my little sonic doesn't like his collar on so they take it off of him so he is comfortable and my george likes to go his own secret way into the play areas. First I'd like to tell you that we have been the clients of Camp Bellingham for over a year, for both daycare and boarding. I absolutely loved the facility, both for cleanliness, quality of establishment, staff and fair pricing. I never expected to be treated like that and am deeply disappointed that I will no longer ever bring my dogs there nor will I ever recommend it to any other dog owner. I am ashamed that my dogs attended a facility where business is conducted in such a disrespectful manner. This morning as usual my husband arrived to drop our dogs at the facility when we were informed that it's full and that your staff allegedly called me to let me know about that, which was a flat out lie. They then proceeded to blame it on my memory, although I checked my phone log and there was not a call or an email from them. They then proceeded to saying that, all of a sudden, my dog, who goes there EVERY WEEK FOR OVER A YEAR doesn't get along with other dogs and that's why they can't take him in (so technically they could take him into an OVERCROWDED facility, just that they didn't really want to). Every single time since we started at Camp Bow Wow Bellingham, I pick up my dogs I ask the staff how they behaved and if there was any problem, and never ever have they told me that there was anything wrong with him. So either they lied to me every other week for over a year about him and other dogs, or they lied to me today, because it's easier to blame it on a dog who cannot defend himself than admit that they screwed up. If in fact he didn't get a long with other dogs, why not bring it up earlier, and wouldn't that be putting both my dog and other people's dogs under immense risk? I wouldn't want my or anyone else's dog in a facility that has these practices and whose only end game is to receive as much money as they can. I am deeply disappointed by this incident, suffice to say that I will never bring my dogs here ever again. I now know what kind of place this is, one that doesn't care about dogs, just about the bottom line and one that's ready to lie to their client's face, and BLINDLY DISCRIMINATE AGAINST CERTAIN BREEDS FOR NO REASON (Max is an American Bulldog), only when it fits their goal. read more

I have also heard many great things about Camp Bow Wow in Bellingham, MA, so I decided to enroll my puppy here. They told me that my dog would be separated from the big dogs, and I was happy about that. The first two times our dog went, she did great. On the third time, I went to pick up my dog and everything seemed fine. When I got her in my car, I touched her head and noticed blood everywhere. I took her back in, and they brought my dog in the back to clean her up. They THEN decided to notify me that my dog got bit at nine that morning (mind you I picked her up at five that night) but they didn't think it was serious enough to call me. There was dried blood all over her neck. They even know which dog had bit mine. They recommended I take her to the vet, which I did, and was informed she needed a staple since the vet could stick his finger in the cut (that's how deep it was). She had to wear a cone for ten days, and was on three different meds. I asked to speak to the owner, and she didn't call me back until I basically forced the manager to get her to speak to me. When she did, she said I was overreacting and refused to meet with my husband or I to even discuss what happened. She was so unbelievably rude and hung up on me. All I was looking for was an explanation as to why I was not informed when my dog was bit. After doing some research and speaking to other people who have sent their dogs there, this is NOT the first time this has happened. I just encourage you to be cautious, since I don't think any dog should have to go an entire day with a gash deep enough to require a staple!!!! read more

This past fall I began a full time job and had been sending my active dog there a few days a week, despite a neighbor suggesting I go elsewhere. That was my first mistake. .At first he came home exhausted and seemed quite happy. I then observed he was acting up a bit at home, seemed anxious and wasn't quite as tired as he used to be after a full day "playing with friends". After watching the monitors while at work,I realized I didn't see him very often. After inquiring to the staff, I find out he's been put in time out for acting up. I called one day because I saw him alone in an area, while the other dogs were in the next play area. This was at 9:00 and I dropped him off at 8:00. I was told on the phone they had "forgotten" him. I was pretty upset, but couldn't leave work to get him. The next day I had to bring him there as I had no other option for him. I called again mid morning to see why I didn't see him in with the others. I spoke with Sally the owner. She was rude, defensive, and didn't listen to me. She questioned me when I told her about my dog being forgotten. She then proceeded to tell me he was being expelled. Expelled! Please note I had to call them to inquire how he was doing. I was told he was too aggressive, and was causing issues with the other dogs. I have never seen my dog aggressive. He loves other dogs and loves to run around and play. Sure, he's high energy, and I love that about him. I'm sure by pulling him away and putting him in "time out" would only create an overly anxious dog once he was again introduced to the others. She didn't have an issue when I recently spent $280 for 10 days of "play" days. So, I spent my money to have my dog in a separate area, coming home full of energy and unhappy. I could have just left him at home where he was comfortable. I hope this review helps you. My stomach is still in knots over this whole ordeal. JT T. I brought my dog here for 5 days while my family went on vacation. On the last day I received a call informing me that my dog was put in quarantine the day before because she had contracted kennel cough from other dogs. They even admitted she got kennel cough from other dogs there. They gave me a credit for a dog wash but they refused to refund any of the other money. The least they could have done was inform me immediately that my dog was sick rather than making her stay another day. Do not bring your dog here. read more

This was the WORST customer experience I have ever had. The cameras only worked for maybe 25% of my dogs stay, and when they were on, my dogs were not ONCE visible. When I called, there was always an excuse. I was rushed off the phone. Part of what we pay for at CBW is playtime. I don't feel my dogs got any of it. We were told at pick up our dogs were "crazy." Yeah, no shit. If you leave dogs in a crate all day, they're going to be crazy. We came from the Charleston location, and because of the trust built there, I didn't read reviews, I felt good dropping my boys off. After reading reviews post drop off, when I started to feel uneasy, it was not at all helpful. Your reviews are atrocious. You should be ashamed of the lack of customer service and care for the animals you are providing. We will NEVER be back. The supervisor will be hearing from me also. Awful. Over half of there food was left over, and I packed just enough for their meals. This leads me to believe they were also not fed. Careless. read more

My dogs love it here! The staff knows the dogs by name and we get a report of how our doggies did without even having to ask.

We used to enjoy taking it dogs here but then we started never seeing them on camera. The last two times we brought our dogs for overnight care, they came home sick. The first time, one dog was constantly vomiting - to the point where he was vomiting blood. Most recently we had one dog come home from daycare with explosive diarrhea. She was stress shedding when we picked her up and looked really off. She had diarrhea all night long. We no longer trust what goes on here with some dogs. read more

We've used Camp Bow Wow in Bellingham MA for a couple of years now. They offer great customer service. We liked the thorough evaluation of our dog for proper social skills before being allowed to board him there. That gave us a good feeling that other dogs would be equivalently evaluated, so he'd be in a safe environment. The dogs are ALWAYS attended when in the open play areas. The employees are always right on top of things if there's a scuffle (which there is bound to occasionally be with lots of dogs together...), or if a dog messes. We like the format where the dogs get to socialize and play for a good portion of the day. So many other 'kennels' just have the dogs locked up in crates for the great majority of the day. There's total transparency with their 'doggy cams'; you can always instantly check up on them AND you dog. Highly recommended! read more

I brought my dog there for daycare a couple times and it was going okay. The trainer there worked with my dog because he has some aggression issues towards other dogs and they said they could help him. I planned on leaving my dog at Camp Bow Wow during my vacation in the fall so I did a trial run for a couple nights, leaving my dog at the facility for boarding for the weekend just to see how he did. Well I must say I was pretty upset when I picked up my dog. He came out looking so sad and acting very timid ( he usually jumps all over me with excitement). So I brought him home and I noticed in the car that he REEKED like pee and his paws were covered in feces! So I bathed him and that's when I realized why he was acting so odd, his paws were so swollen, bright red and raw and his gums were so swollen he could hardly close his mouth. I immediately brought him to the vet and she said it was BURNS all over his paws which then irritated his mouth when he probably put his paws in his mouth while he was laying down. I had to put him on steroids to make the swelling go down and for days he hardly moved and wouldn't leave my side and was acting traumatized. Of course Camp Bow Wow didn't take any responsibility and said my dog is not a good fit for them and to not bring him back. What a horrible place, I know they did something to him they are irresponsible and do not care about the well being of your dog. read more

I brought my one year old boxer here for four Saturday's in a row for an overnight stay. I noticed he started acting aggressive towards strangers and other dogs? He has become very anxious and insecure, which came on all of a sudden. I heard from someone that worked there after the fact that the abuse the dogs physically and shake them. I'm hoping this isn't true but I plan on doing some investigating. read more

I cannot for the life of me understand all the positive reviews for this place. After reading all, I decided to do a one day trial. I watched my baby girl on the video cam for the 6 hours she was there and I am totally not impressed. The one star is for the nice staff I met when I arrived. That is about it. It's a show. On the website they show outside play things for the dogs and swimming pool. While watching the video cam I noticed that they never took her outside and there is nothing in the play yard. Being a lab she loves the pool. I called to ask why they were not outside and why no equipment or pool. They explained that the outside equipment was on order and that corporate did not allow swimming pools because there was an incident. What??? Then don't advertise this on your website. Also, no treats, no toys, no play time, no nap time. What am I paying for?? All they want is your money. Corporate greed! My pup literally wandered around a cement floor fenced in room with a ton of other dogs and a so called counselor who carried a spray bottle. No affection by the counselors. My pup stood by the exit the whole time wanting to leave. None were playing with each other. So sad! All they are doing is warehousing your dog. Never will I ever go back. When I picked her up she couldn't get out of there fast enough to the point where she clawed me and drew blood. And you may ask, yes she has been at other day cares. I only switched because I moved too far away. I will never recommend this place to anyone. My dog deserves better!!! read more

We had a great first experience there today! The staff is very warm & welcoming. I enjoyed watching our dog through their live webcam app! A very friendly and professional place! I love that the dogs can go inside or outside to play whenever they want. They really catered to our dog's needs and personality. We already made reservations for another visit! read more

I have a very anxious Jack Russell and when most people would have shown me the door Camp Bow Wow trainer and staff were devoted to helping us make our dog comfortable and less anxious. By the end of our interview Shamus was playing with other dogs! And running around like a kid at a play ground. I can't thank them enough and I am looking forward to him going to Day Care and Boarding while we are away! read more
