The facility is clean, well-organized, and full of fun activities to keep the dogs engaged. My dog, a French Bulldog, is not the easiest so early socialization was a must. We have been going to Tails by the Wayside for 3 years now and I always feel confident knowing he's in good hands! For daycare, there are plenty of play areas, both indoors and outdoors, so dogs of all sizes can have fun safely. The staff members are always keeping a watchful eye on the dogs. As a small business, I know my dog isn't just a paycheck. They truly care about him and his wellbeing, which is not something you find easily!! I board my dog at least 6 times a year, sometimes for 2 weeks at a time. There are not many places I trust to board, so I'm so thankful to Heather and her team! The drop off and pickup process is so easy. They make sure to follow the medication and feeding schedule. I am always able to enjoy my trips without any worries, knowing my pup was getting personalized care. I highly recommend Tails by the Wayside to anyone looking for a safe, fun, and loving place for their dog. While boarding our dog here, she…read moredeveloped painful, bleeding hot spots due to being left wet after daily water play and not being dried properly. We had to take her to an ER vet for treatment and medication. When I brought this to the owners' attention, they failed to acknowledge any responsibility or offer any compensation for what was clearly a preventable issue. To make matters worse, their response was delayed by two weeks and came across as hostile. I left my phone number and a voicemail and never got a call, just a defensive email. Following that, they even deactivated our access to the reservation portal. Our pets deserve better care, and pet parents deserve to be heard--not dismissed. I truly hope moving forward they ensure dogs that are boarded aren't left wet or damp overnight and try to do better. However, they gave no indication that they were going to change anything in their care routines moving forward. I wouldn't trust this business, especially the owners. Below is a photo they uploaded into the reservation portal of her clearly being soaked with water, the other photos are after the ER vet where she had to be shaved down and given steroids to clear them up. The last screenshot is trying to log into the reservation portal and being denied access.

Mookie, our Aussie, loved to go for daycare and would jump out of the car when we arrived and run straight to the front door. Mikaela was his favorite and he would go right to her in the reception area (or anywhere else). Maya is a fantastic groomer and always had Mookie looking sharp. Our rescue was skittish about going inside so Maya would come out to the car to clip her nails. Firstly, I was already working on alternative locations due to my dog suddenly developing severe…read moreseparation anxiety and aversion to his crate after taking him here. One day when I picked him up I asked to see where he was being kept and found that it was essentially a kennel daycare with limited free range for half the day or more. This place requires a flu vaccine, after we got the first dose, my dog was showing issues with his front legs so we were working on diagnosing that and found he had elbow dysplasia and some shoulder OCD. When we first started bringing our dog here, we essentially got daily email reminders to provide them with my dogs full vet records, apparently they don't send reminders for expired vaccine records. My wife is away this week and I am solely responsible for my young children and dog, the last thing I expected was this daycare to be the most challenging part of the week. I dropped him off on Monday and Antonia confronted me immediately about his 3 week out of date flu vaccine record, I told them we could get it the following Monday. Tuesday, Antonia confronts me again saying my dog has to be isolated without the records, not having much choice I stated my objection but complied. Today, Wednesday, I was met with an extremely cold Antonia but nothing was said which is better than the confrontational attitude I was getting. Now, end of day, the kennel manager Mikaela sends my wife an accusatory email stating I lied to them and he is not welcome anymore. I'd like to thank this daycare for failing me and my dog. Thank you for the separation and crate anxiety my dog now has, thank you for not giving us grace while we work through a difficult medical issue with my dog, thank you for the horrible attitude and most of all thanks for not giving us an opportunity to fulfill your stringent record requirements. Send your dog somewhere else, unless you like your dog sharing a cage with another dog half the day. Send your dog someplace that values reliability and will send a reminder if their records are showing out of date. Antonia, Mikaela, do better.

The staff truly knows him, from who he plays well with to when he needs a little extra attention. The daycare is clean, safe, and structured, and I always feel like he is in great hands. We also use their grooming services, and Bowie has never looked better. The groomers are gentle, skilled, and actually listen to what you want. Every groom comes out consistent and he smells amazing for days. Lewis & Bark is the only place I trust for both daycare and grooming. Bowie is obsessed and so am I.
