The spacious outdoor areas are so much fun for the dogs to run and play. The staff really does their best to pair up the dogs with others who have similar temperaments. Our pup comes home exhausted, well fed, and happy! Southborough kennels does offer extra add on services like Pupsicles, baths, or bedding washes. (There are others but we've never utilized them). The ONLY complaint I have about Southborough Kennels is that they book up REALLY far in advance. Their booking system is all online and offers calendar dates several years out, so many customers just go in and book all the "Christmas Weeks" for the next five years. It makes getting a spot the hottest ticket in town! But clearly, that says something about Southborough Kennels! So I'll recommend, as long as you don't take my dates! ;)

It is by far my kennel of choice when planning to board him. Sunny is a timid boy who is overwhelmed by rambunctious dogs and can become withdrawn and shut down in unfamiliar spaces - the staff takes extra effort to provide him outside time with relaxed and calm dogs. They've sent videos of him in the yard with the others and I can see just how happy he is, running around just like he does at home. I see this as a testament to just how much he loves it at Southboro Kennels. I also like that the actual kennel spaces are separate enclosed runs with indoor and outdoor spaces, which can house one dog or a few dogs from the same pack. I feel that the dogs get more space and more freedom than at other kennels where they are confined to a single room and taken out periodically for bathroom breaks. I have referred a few other fellow dog owners here and they have all been impressed with the service at Southboro Kennels and in all cases have made this their boarding facility of choice (even traveling out from Boston to come here)! The one thing that I will say is that because Southboro Kennels is so well-loved by their clients that it can be difficult to reserve boarding for your pets , especially in the peak seasons (summer and winter holidays). I've called 2 months in advance to inquire and have been placed on a waitlist due to the kennel being fully booked, so keep this in mind when you are planning trips. and try and book out as early as you can!

I checked out the website and liked what I saw so I emailed them. The lady who responded was very nice and helpful. I stopped in the following Saturday and talked to the owner, turns out it was his wife who had emailed me back. He spent over an hour giving me tips. The next weekend, I stopped back in to pick up some supplies, he gave me a lot of advice and actually talked me out of spending some money at his store. Very honest. A few days later, we brought out puppy in for a free evaluation. They spent over two hour just with us, told us all the packages they offer, pricing and gave us some more advice. Our dog will be starting obedience training there within a couple weeks. The pricing was very reasonable for the classes and they really seem to know what they're doing and care very much about doing a good job. In addition to the obedience training, there's a small store. They only carry products they really believe it that are made in the US. I found the prices to be pretty reasonable for a small store with all high quality products. I will be buying everything I can there and staying away from the big chain pet stores.

I've definitely met some dog walkers that didn't make me feel as comfortable as Marina does...clearly she is intelligent, thoughtful and really cares about animals - all of which should be a required to deal with people's pets, but sadly that is not always the case. After meeting Marina for the initial interview I felt very comfortable that she was the person and service for my dogs. Bruno and Rosie have been hiking with Marina for a few months and the they are so happy and tired when they return. Marina is responsive, responsible, caring and very attentive. One of his favorites, Nancy, is also very knowledgeable about dogs and lets us know if she sees anything out of the ordinary we should be aware of. We get email reports after each walk and sometimes we get photos. We recently started to use their overnight service when we can't take Sammy with us. When we come home, Sammy now looks rested, calm and happy instead of hyperactive and exhausted which is how he used to look when we would pick him up from the kennel. I wanted to provide the dates just to cover all my basis and not have to worry about them being booked and she assured me it will be fine if I just call within the next couple weeks. Couple weeks later (today) I call and say we still don't know for sure if they are coming but at this point I'm not counting on it and to book the given dates. Stacey now tells me she can only accommodate a few of the days out of the almost 3 weeks because they are booked. I said you assured me I'd be fine in July if I just called back and her response is "it's been booked" She also told me she only boards dogs that go to daycare there...my dogs have been going to daycare there for years. They aren't regulars anymore like they were before Stacey took over because my husband now works from home and it's not needed. I will be writing reviews like this on all her platforms. Very unprofessional. I know many families that take their dogs to Skipton but I'll let them know how you've handled this situation..just in case they don't read this review!
