The staff continues to be friendly and they are clearly passionate about dogs. They've brought in various new staff over the years and every one of them has done a fantastic job. If you have a dog with boundless energy and are looking for something to help them get some of that energy out, or if you have a dog that just doesn't get the opportunity to get out of the house enough and interact with other dogs and want them to enjoy a happier, more social life, I highly recommend giving Country Canine a try.

We originally had our first dog Casey start back in 2011. We loved the original daycare and we still very much love Country Canine Retreat with our 2nd dog, Dolly. Dolly is a rescue and had some baggage come with her at 4 months old in 2016 (or so). She has some sass, she's a bit bossy, loves her cuddle time, belly rubs and has enough energy to keep the lights on at the Boston Garden and Patriot's Place! The staff has done an excellent job keeping her busy, entertained, engaged throughout the 5 days a week. She plays with several dogs throughout the day. She loves CCR, recognizes all the staff and comes home sometimes with even more energy at (almost) 11 years old. By Friday, she is one tired happy dog. I love talking with the staff and owner. They are kind, considerate, knowledgeable. I trust them completely. I cannot imagine Dolly going anywhere else.

When our first dog got old, there was a point when they recommended we don't board her. We ended up changing our vacation to bring her with us instead. Not only did we get more quality time with her, but we gained the confidence that our kennel cared about her. Over the years they have reliably fed special diets, medications, and dealt with psychological quirks that a couple of our rescued dogs have had. Our dogs go in happily and come back happily. They have always been healthy in return, which i credit to their strict vaccination policy and quality kibble. - photo is not from the kennel, just dog tax :)

We were boarding our morkie here for nearly 12 years due to its close proximity. Despite the staff being extremely rude and unfriendly, our dog appeared generally happy during short 2-3 day stays. However, we noticed that during longer stays, her feet were usually soiled and hair was matted with a foul odor. We immediately moved her to a more cleanly kennel for long periods of boarding. Additionally, when she was about 14.5 years old, the owner abruptly refused to continue boarding her for short stays simply stating in a very crass manner that she was too old without providing any explanation for this conclusion. Overall, the staff are extremely unprofessional and have little care for their boarders.

They get to really know your dog and set up a plan according to their behavioral needs. It is not a "one size fits all" training method as different dogs require different experiences with training. We are experienced German Shepherd owners, but we adopted a 9 month old Shepherd who had no previous training and was traumatized by the sudden death of her previous owner. She was nervous and insecure. She needed more than what we could give her. In comes Doggone Fit. Our trainer Richie fell in love with Leia and she him. We did the 2 week board and train and it was worth EVERY penny of the $2K+ we spent. Leia needed to learn some boundaries and build some confidence. She came home loving the tools and structure she learned. **And I will say it again** - YOU NEED to continue with the training. Your dog will come home improved and will have learned the tools, but unless you continue with the protocol your dog will backslide. We have stuck with Doggon Fit's protocol and Leia is thriving. We even boarded her for the first time with Richie and she was in heaven. It was like summer camp for her. Richie sent us daily updates and photos and we felt so good knowing she was having fun and in the hands of someone who cared for her and obviously knew her training needs. Here's a picture of our happy, confident girl now. She has come so incredibly far. If it wasn't for Doggone Fit we probably would have continued to struggle with meeting her specific needs. She loves the work she learned there and we continue with it daily. It gives her the confidence and structure she (and many dogs) need.

We initially worked with Richie for an introduction to training, which was tremendously helpful. We then worked with Joe Langlois, who was excellent with initial training and weekly adventure hikes for our pup. He spent so much time getting to know our pup to make sure he could bond and effectively work with him. He also took a tremendous amount of time to listen and explain everything including tips to help with our pup's anxieties, which have been an invaluable help. We loved having our high energy dog participate in the adventure hikes and seeing all the adorable photos Joe would very actively post after almost every walk. He obviously loves dogs and really cares about giving them exercise, fun, and training. Also he has rescued all of his dogs, a good marker of how much he cares about dogs in general. We hope to continue working with Joe and highly recommend.

We have two young rescue dogs, one of which was horribly abused and is thus very shy and afraid of people and takes a long time to warm up to anyone. We wanted to schedule several visits over the course of Feb-May to be sure our dogs would be comfortable with their caretaker while we were away. We met with the owner, and then with a caretaker, which seemed to go well. Then when we tried to schedule another visit, we got put off and put off multiple times over weeks with various excuses ranging from weather to injury and no callbacks, we always had to initiate communication. After several weeks of this treatment, we were informed by the owner that our dogs were too high maintenance and that Fresh Trails was not willing to work with us. Let me say, for the record, that I totally understand rescue dogs being difficult to work with, especially one who was as abused as our poor girl was. I do not fault Fresh Trails at all for declining to work with a dog with issues of that nature. Where I do find fault is with the incredibly unprofessional way we were treated, especially as Fresh Trails was well aware of our time constraints and our desire to give our girls plenty of time to get used to their caretaker. It should not have taken 2 months to come to the decision that our girls were too challenging, especially when several weeks had elapsed since the last visit.
