Easy place for us to pick up food for our dog. Usually not too busy, so there isn't much of a wait. Parking is a plus too

I feel like the people who worked here were knowledgable. They had a ton of food brands and had a rare one my dog eats. My issue was this place smelled soooo bad. Petco has a place in my heart because I adopted a kitty from a shelter extension project from a Petco location before. This time there were no cats up for adoption in the store. This location has many beta fish and other kinds of fish, some small animals like guinea pigs, mice, and hamsters. The store's layout for checkout is terrible but the staff seem to be available to help when needed. It isn't a superstore for pet supplies but it has almost everything you need from pet shampoo, medication, food, toys, and other supplies. read more

Every thing customer service staff is always willing to go above and beyond. The phone rings and immediately gets answered, some ones walks in to the store is waiting for the grooming salon staff and one of the employees by the registers announces that someone is waiting by the entrance to the salon. First time visiting this location as I was in the area meeting family for lunch. Located in a strip mall so it's shared parking but there's plenty of it. The store itself is pretty big and very organized. Each section is easy to tell what pet it's for. Decent sized fish section too. They also had kittens for adoption. Plenty of cat food options. I want to say there were at least three rows of options. I was there on a Sunday morning and there was plenty of staff. Checkout was a breeze. Peter is great. Our boy Douglas is a bouncy 7 months old standard poodle timid about some of the things that have to be done during a grooming. Been coming here for over a year and almost never have had a complaint besides how theyre almost always short handed on staff. I went to petco today to get crickets. I made the line and a women in front of me asked for crickets too so the staff that was helping her (Anna) went to get them i followed her to ask her for crickets too so she didnt have to go back when she got to me and so she said shed be back to get my crickets . Mind you i was waiting there for five minutes, i then went back and saw she kept helping new people on the line while she had me waiting where the crickets were. So i made then line again when she got to me i asked her for large crickets and she said how she couldnt help me yet because there were people behind me on the line. How does that make any sense not only did i wait in line twice but waited for her to come back where the crickets were. She then gave me attitude when i politely questioned how that made any sense if she helped the other women who got crickets. It was my first time seeing her there cause I usually always see Nic , this curly head guy, this short female and this other Asian guy but there was only two staffs today , anna and the curly head guy with glasses. I literally spent over 25 minutes in there just to walk out with anything and dealing with a rude worker. It makes no sense that i have to wait more then 25 minutes for crickets yet walk out with any because she wanted to have a fresh attitude and not help me knowing i made the line more then once and even asked her aside too. read more

Can't thank PETER and his team enough for taking good care of our Luna! We walked in and we were greeted by their friendly staff. When we asked for a grooming service, they immediately required us to give them our vaccination records which we didn't have (since it's our first time). Thankfully we don't live too far away so my husband went home to get them. Meanwhile, my pup and I were directed to the training area to hang out since it was unoccupied. I wish I got her name but there was a very kind lady who gave Luna 5 cookies and fresh water for a snack. I also got to chat with Peter and he was very kind with his time to answer few questions about taking care of our puppy. As soon as we got our records, Luna was set to get her first grooming + basic spa service (nails, ear and teeth) for $105 including tax! Although it took them 4 hours to finish, we were very happy with the result! Our Luna looked so beautiful and we are so pleased to hear from Peter that she was cooperative during the process. Great variety of items and extremely friendly staff. Have had staff members to offer to carry heavy cat litter to my car and one who insisted on doing so- I appreciate the gesture. When I walk in an employee always asks if I need help etc. if you are looking for a certain thing they probably have it- just ask someone! The store is big, very clean and does not smell (which is pretty typical of pet stores). They have a few cats for adoption by the front of the store. They partner with a local shelter and the cats usually get adopted within a few weeks (every time I come they have new cats). You can donate to the shelter when you check out-- I usually don't do these types of things but it's a local shelter so I know it's going to them and will help. You can also donate cat/dog supplies and food in a bin by the entrance. read more

Over a year later and this store and its' staff continue to impress me!! We purchased another class with Florida for Adult Dog Training 2. She has been flexible and patient with Meadow and I. She is knowledgeable and truly a wonderful teacher. There is a great sense of community when we walk into Petco. Meadow gets groomed by Peter and to this day he remains the most caring and best in the Long Island/Queens area. We recently attended the Halloween Costume Contest which was a blast. I do love petco. This is a very convenient location with parking and other stores right next to it. Can be easily accessed from the Great Neck, Little Neck, Douglaston area. The staff is very nice. Everything is so clean. They have loads of supplies for so many different types of pets. Very large store. Of course my favorite part is all the little critters. Lizards, reptiles, ferrets, hamsters, guinea pigs and chinchillas! Also had cats and kittens for adoption. There is a training floor space for dogs too :) Convenient place to bring your dog to be trained. I needed an automatic fish food feeder for when I went away for a few days. The feeder did not work well and we did have to return it. There were a lot of fish supplies and tank decoration to choose from. I felt like I had so many options. Definitely coming here again soon. Such nice staffs! I never personally groomed my dog here but got his nails trimmed here. He hates getting his nails trimmed but he didn't seem too stressed compared to other petcos I've been to. I love how they have glass windows here so I was able to watch him. I think him being able to see me put his mind to ease. They're also really nice to my dog- my dog can be a little crazy aka energetic but they still love him. Absolutely one of my favorite pet stores in the area. It's convenient, there's free parking, and the staff are always very friendly and helpful. The store is located in the Little Neck plaza so there's free parking but be warned that it tends to get crowded during the weekends. The store itself is much cleaner than the Petsmart on Jericho Turnpike which is absolutely disgusting and filthy.. I highly highly recommend signing up for puppy classes with Michelle here. She is very knowledgeable and very friendly! She definitely knows her stuff and will always go out of her to make sure that your pup succeeds and does well. She's very patient and is great at what she does! The classes are a great way to socialize your pup and with Michelle as the trainer, you really can't go wrong. The store itself is spacious and has all of your pet needs supplies. There's always a big selection of stuff and there's toys on sale in the front of the store. They have grooming services so if you need it, call ahead to book an appointment. If you have extra supplies or if you're feeling kind, there's a donation bin in front of the store that will go towards shelter dogs. read more

Peter has been Max's groomer for 8 years!! For the first few years he was at a Petco very close to my house then he moved about 30 mins away and I commuted 30 mins each way to have Peter groom Max. That's how good he is with Max. Max is skittish with people and can become aggressive but not with Peter. I never have to worry about him when I leave him with Peter because I know he's in good hands. Peter is sweet and gentle with Max. He is very personable and always accommodating. The location is always very clean and inviting. Max feels welcomed and happy when he gets there. I'm sure some people have had bad experiences with groomers (if you are not one of those people consider yourself lucky) with Peter and his team you don't have to worry about your pet. There is a Fish specialist, Gene, at this location. He is so unbelievably knowledgeable, honest and it is clear that he not only knows his stuff but he has such a passion for what he does. This isn't my first trip to this specific Petco (which isn't even the closest one to my home) because of Gene and his patience, expertise, honesty and courtesy that he shows all customers. If anyone is ever having any issues with their aquarium and needs to speak to someone who can literally provide them with step by step instructions on how to fix your fish/tank, Gene is the person to go see. Didn't like my previous groomer so much so I wanted to check out this place. I called ahead of time to make an appointment and decided just to stop by later on to have a face-to-face conversation. Tiffany was the person who assisted me and she is just awesome. Very nice and wonderful with my pup, Zuko. Zuko has a good judge of character and he instantly liked her. She showed a lot of interest and understood and listened to what I had to say about Zuko. She's just overall a very good person and you can tell she loves dogs too. I would highly recommend her to all my friends. I hope she gets her certificate to cut hair soon so my wife can come to her with her dog. I've been to Petco before for grooming and they did not show me nearly close to the awesome customer service that Tiffany gave to me. I'm happy to have found someone I can trust to have groomed with. Great first time with the groomer named Peter. He was very caring and attentive towards the needs of my dog, Biscuit. He gave a lot of insightful advice of how to care for Biscuit. Biscuit usually gets very tense and nervous when going to the groomer, but he was very calm and happy. I can see the big smile on Biscuit's face.
